• Merge two e-mail accounts

  I have a few email addresses Yahoo and SBC Global, I'm able to check in a single mailbox on yahoo.com, while being able to select in each address when you compose an email.

  However, I'm unable to understand how to configure my Apple Mail account to reflect my yahoo.com account. Currently in Apple Mail, I have a separate account of the SBC Global and a separate account of Yahoo. I implemented this way because it was the only way I knew to be able to select different e-mail addresses when you are composing an email. The problem with this configuration is the number of unread emails is doubled due to them being two identical mailboxes.

  If possible, I would like to combine/merge the mailboxes while being able to have two e-mail addresses to select when you compose an email.

  I hope that what I am asking is logical and someone out there will be a solution because I know that I'm not the only person using several e-mail on the same Yahoo account alias.

  Hello and welcome to Apple support communities, OMMBoy.

  If I understand your post right, you are wanting to be able to set up your Yahoo/SBC Global account once in post, rather than implement them separately, but still be able to choose one or the other when you dial an outgoing message. I know from personal experience, how practical is to be able to choose the account that come from your emails, so I'm happy to help you find a solution for this today!

  It is not a way to 'merge' mail accounts in the mail that you mentioned, but hopefully that won't matter because it seems that these two accounts are already merged on the side server. That you would do so first remove one of these mail e-mail accounts so that only rest. It shouldn't make a difference, that you decide to keep. You can find steps on how to remove one of these email accounts in Mail for Mac: Configure Mail with your email accounts, specifically this section:
  
  

  Delete an account

  When you delete a mail e-mail account, messages from the account are deleted and are no longer available on your Mac. The copies of the messages remain on the mail server account and are still available (from webmail, for example).

  Important: If you are not sure if you want to keep the messages are still on the mail server, move or copy them to a mailbox stored on your Mac (the mailbox appears in the section on my Mac in the mail sidebar) before deleting the account in Mail.

  1. Choose Mail > Preferences, and click accounts.

  2. Select an account, then click on the button Delete .

     Note: If the account is used by other applications on your Mac, you are prompted to delete the account in Internet accounts system preferences. Click the button to open an Internet account, and then clear the box e-mail for the account. To stop using the account in all applications, make sure that the account is selected, and then click the button Delete .

  Once you have one of these e-mail accounts deleted, you will follow the steps of Mail (Yosemite): use e-mail alias, to add the address to remove as an alias. Don't worry that the article shows "Yosemite", the steps are the same for Sierra.

• Cannot connect to more than one mail account after the upgrade to Sierra

  I have several provided ISP e-mail accounts that work successfully for a long time on elCapitan.  After the upgrade to Sierra this afternoon cannot connect all accounts and I asks me to enter the password.  Why isn't Sierra pick up the passwords of my trousseau?

  Oddly enough, my Hotmail account seems to be ok.

  How can I fix this without having to re - enter all passwords?

  As a result of the foregoing, I found that my connection Keyring contains entries for all of my email accounts.  However, these dates are back in July 2011.

  After an episode of lost or stolen iphone, I had to update all of my passwords by e-mail in February this year (2016).

  Search in my keychain, I found dated entries for my email accounts in iCloud Keychain section.  I don't think that I never activated iCloud for my email.

  Thanks for posting here in Support of Apple communities. I see you are eager to see how much space to use on your Mac mail accounts. I'll be more than happy to help.

  Your profile says you have El Capitan, so for you, you can locate the Mail folder in your library to estimate the storage it uses. Here are the instructions to find this file:

  1. open Finder

  2. click on the 'Go' and 'Go to Folder' drop-down list and type "~ / Library /" without the quotes and click on 'Go '.

  3. find the "E-mail" folder, right click and choose 'Get Info'

  If you have MacOS Sierra 10.12 new version, it's a little easier:

  1. click the  button and click on 'about this Mac'

  2. click on the storage tab

  3. click on 'manage... '. »

  One on the page manage the it will break your storage and show you the storage used by the Applications, Documents, iBooks, iCloud Drive, iOS, Mail, Photos, Trash, and system files.

• prevent connection to a pop Mail account

  I have several devices, iOS, Mac OS and PC, any connection to two different e-mail accounts. I recently started each of them using IMAP, rather POP, to collect mail from servers.

  There is a certain older e-mail that my mail clients have collected over the years as accounts pop. Some of these emails are no longer on the server, so the new IMAP accounts on email clients show them.

  So when I did the new IMAP account on my mac, I let the POP accounts in place, rather than remove them. I don't want to 'turn off' old POP accounts, because I could always not wanting to search emails stored there, but I don't want to continue the collection of mail from my servers.

  How can I keep the old POP accounts in my list of accounts on the left side of my Mail app, but put to retrieve any new mail the mail server?

  While we are at it, is there a way to do this in Thunderbird for PC as well?

  Move mail POP in "on your Mac" by creating new mailboxes and drag and drop. Now, they will be on your computer HD

  Our school has changed our field of Google mail, and when I try to add the new account, it does not work.

  Maybe you can we tell what "does not work" exactly average. The phone allows you to add a new e-mail account can not? You said switching area. What is the name of the domain? Have you contacted your school IT support and asked them what are the correct settings?

  I have a number of e-mail accounts linked to TBird... I just added a new I want to move to the top of the list of folders (left column). It seems that the only way to do this is to remove the "old"... to add the new and add the 'old'... is there a better way

  I assume that you have downloaded the file as and installed in thunderbird.
  How to install the Extension module:
  After you download addon extension *.xpi file to the downloads or desktop folder.

  In Thunderbird
  'Tools > "Add-ons"
  or
  'The menu icon ' > 'Add-ons'

  • Click the gear icon and select 'install module file.
  • Find the downloaded *.xpi file and click 'open '.
  • You may have to restart Thunderbird when you are prompted.

  It can easily be located on the 'Menu Bar' under 'tools '.

  A really strange problem!

  I use different e-mail accounts. I send an email with a sender (defined as standard!), email is archived in archive A sent from the sender, the sender is wrote in the header of the email as the sender, but the email is sent with the sender B written as the sender in the email received.

  It sounds like you do not use the right smtp server to send the e-mail.

  Please check what 'Sender A' smtp server account uses.
  'Tools' > 'Account settings' for the e-mail account
  or
  Right click on the email account in the folders pane, and then select "settings".
  Lower-right - outgoing (SMTP) server - select the correct SMTP server for that e-mail account.
  See the image below as an aid.
  Click OK

  If you are unsure about what to do please post the following information:

  In Thunderbird

  • Help > troubleshooting information
  • Click on 'copy text to the Clipboard.
  • In the forum, in this issue, right-click in a text box ' Post a reply ' and choose 'paste '.

  Tell me the number of the account which is "sender."
  Tell me the number of the account how recipient sees as venues.

  Check the settings > general > profile. If there is a profile it you don't recognize (normally there is no) you must remove. You can install when you install a game or other application.

  As says the issue I can change the name, but not the fields email and password in the first box pop up that appears when you add an existing e-mail account. Seems to be a bug in the pop-up edition regardless of the new account is.

  Hi, I have downloaded and deleted all my gmail accounts. I have the files .mbox for each account. Basically, I want to be disconnected for a while but wanted to make sure I had an account of my email incase there is a recipe for something I need in the future. I actually don't like all my private emails all maintained online. So I have Thunderbird to store all mail from all of my accounts. I like to keep the thunderbird and all of my emails on my laptop and main computer. Is this possible? Thanks Jen.

  p.s. Someone else said I should have / could have used e-mail for mac? I love Thunderbird however if these functions are possible. Still, I do not wish to go online in the future or to collect all mail accounts will no longer exist, different from the empty account set up specifically to start Thunderbird.

  There is an easy way and a little more a path.

  The easy way is to define a computer (server settings, once again) to leave messages on the server.

  Then the other on the value up to download and delete them off the server.

  This will require a coordinating appropriate on your part. If you download and delete on the PC and that removes the server off, then you can get them on your laptop without some to file copy.

  So, you have to remember who is downloading but leave it on the server and that you do everything first all the time. And don't forget to download and delete and a second all the time.

  The other method is simply locate the mail files you have and copy them from one to the other.

  Curiously, the local folder on your computer is also available on this pop-up 'server settings '. He lies down in "Local Directory"

• I think that I have to delete and re - open an e-mail account

  I use Windows 7 and Thunderbird 38.2.0. It is a continuation of my previous question that received no response yet. I have an e-mail account that has no (specified in the file/Subscribe) subscription on it after that I tried to fix it by using the option 'Repair file' (in the file/Edit Properties). I want to keep the same email address as this is my main address. I don't know how to put subscriptions on it and thought that by removing and re - open, this could put subscriptions on, but I don't know if I can re - open address even if I delete it. Can the same e-mail address be added once it is removed if it is the main address I have in Thunderbird? It is an IMAP account.

• Default e-mail account e-mail

  I think it was a way to set the default "from" e-mail account when sending emails. I don't see this option in Mail preferences. I'm looking in the wrong place. Also, when I send an email, my starting Mail app suddenly put in the 'from' email address almost never used. I can't understand why this suddenly started happening. Hints would be appreciated.

  For your first question, the default account for sending messages is selected in Mail preferences, composition workshop, under "address".

• Mozilla locks the computer after downloading messages from the second e-mail account

  I used thunderbird for years. The current version is 38.1.0. on Windows 7. I used two e-mail accounts for years. As I downloaded the latest version, whenever thunderbird download anything from the second account, it crashes my whole computer. I deleted the second account and reinstalled, but the same thing happens.

  I don't know if the recent update is the real cause of the problem.

  Does anyone have any suggestions to solve this problem?

  Safe mode is mainly to determine if your antivirus software is causing problems. Antivirus software is not running in Windows safe mode.
