e-mail alias

Hello, I have an e-mail alias and I want to delete but system won't allow, any ideas anyone? Thank you

Deleting an alias is permanent, so if you think you can use the alias again, you should simply turn off. When an alias is turned off, all the emails sent to this alias is returned to the sender.

You have made changes in the sharing settings and folder permissions.

Keep it in the screenshot.

  • WHY is Apple E-Mail Alias transfer - so restrictive?

When my wife signed to Apple she used one of our gmail accounts of his Apple ID, which is great, EXCEPT that I had used this (name) @gmail for an alias iCloud email address (name) @icloud before it is signed on.  Apple does NOT allow me to transfer this alias so my wife can use it as its primary e-mail address Apple, that would be ideal because it reflects his gmail address?

WHY Apple is so restrictive with the transfer of an e-mail address, whether it is an e-mail alias or principle?

In the digital world of today, where Apple has made their Apple ID and email iCloud Apple so very well integrated into the overall experience iOS - it makes it incredibly frustrating that we are unable to make a simple email address switch between my wife and me that would make life easier on the whole regarding the centralization of its emails from Apple Mail account.  (Name) she uses is the one that we used it for many years and he move on to something completely different... not a very good option leaves she have to keep using Gmail as their primary e-mail account...

  • How can I e-mail alias list on iPhone?

Is there a way to put my email alias in my email on my iPhone 5s accounts so when I want to send an email or replay that I can use one of my aliases?

    Hey there schoodle!

From your post, it seems you have an e-mail alias you want as an option during the send/receive message in the Mail application. With iCloud email alias, it's something that can be done by tapping the Cc/BCC line in any e-mail that you compose, as long as your iCloud mail is on.

See: using your email address @icloud.com - Apple Support

Send the email from your address @icloud.com

Open Mail and start a new email:

    • If only you have an address of @icloud.com and isn't an iCloud email alias, it will appear in the Cc/BCC field on your iOS device or on your Mac and iCloud.comfield.
    • If you have more than one e-mail address, you will need to select your address @icloud.com:
      • iOS: Tap Cc/BCC, from, press on, then choose your address @icloud.com.
      • OS x: choose your address @icloud.com in From menu.
      • iCloud.com: click CC/BCC, and then choose your address @icloud.com From menu.

Then fill in your email and send.

And then, you can configure it as the default for sending over iCloud account:

Make a @icloud.com attack your default, send and receive the address

To make your address @icloud.com the default value for the sending and receiving of emails from iCloud, follow the steps below for each of your devices.

    iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

    1. Go to settings > iCloud. In iOS 7 or an earlier version, tap Settings > iCloud > account.
    2. Type Mail under Advanced.
    3. Under iCloud account information, type your email address.
    4. Type the email address @icloud.com you want to use by default for sending mail to iCloud Mail.

Hello, I know I can see the color of the label that I put to any alias that I created in iCloud.com. Is anyway so he could reflect on the real Apple Mail in Mac OS or iOS?... Because all email sent to one of my aliases reflects just like any other email going to my email main iCloud. Thank you!

  • Change the e-mail alias - stuck with the WRONG "To" e-mail address.

El Capitan. Mail Version 9.2 (3112)

I just changed from Thunderbird Mail that I now have an email sync client.

I have my own domain name and my own email address.  < my name @ my domain name > so if I change from one provider to another, I don't need to tell everyone my NEW email address as all I need to do is to change the sender of mail with my hosting company as I did before.

Now, with mail, the 'From' box in the mails I send either < [email protected]> or <[email protected] > I tried to change but can not. If I login to iCloud Mail. Click here: settings/preferences/accounts, I see my iCloud account, which offers me only my iCloud email addresses. I have only 1 alias. Can I change only the label and the full name.  If I click on add an alias, it allows me to add a name, but requires the iCloud address to [email protected]. I want to be just my name or with my own domain name in parentheses. i; e; the 'From' say: my name or my name + <[email protected]>

Having an Alias with iCloud email address is NOT help return of unsolicited e-mail.

    Can I do this?

Apple supports fails in this regard.  I have an alias name called < wrong_email_address.icloud > and I can't change it to my current e-mail address.  Apple, you must obtain the Department of good software and either a solution or change this feature.  This is ridiculous.

  • The e-mail alias is added

I am trying to add an account alias.  When I try to add my gmail address, it says, 'this e-mail address is already taken. Please try another. "I have no idea where the gmail address is used in the Microsoft world, and I won't have access to my current email in the next few days.  Help!

    Thank you!

Your gmail address is probably a quite separate Microsoft Account.  No email is (because the email it would end in the Gmail Web site, not Microsoft).  As far as Microsoft is concerned, it is 'just a username', the fact that it looks like a gmail email address is not really relevant.

To see if this is the case, try to connect to http://account.microsoft.com using your gmail as a username address.  If you do not know the password, click the link "I can't access my account" to reset.

If you find that the gmail address is indeed used as an account of MS, you can set it up to send to your favorite Microsoft Account or delete this account is free to use it as an alias.

  • Merge two e-mail accounts

I have a few email addresses Yahoo and SBC Global, I'm able to check in a single mailbox on yahoo.com, while being able to select in each address when you compose an email.

However, I'm unable to understand how to configure my Apple Mail account to reflect my yahoo.com account. Currently in Apple Mail, I have a separate account of the SBC Global and a separate account of Yahoo. I implemented this way because it was the only way I knew to be able to select different e-mail addresses when you are composing an email. The problem with this configuration is the number of unread emails is doubled due to them being two identical mailboxes.

If possible, I would like to combine/merge the mailboxes while being able to have two e-mail addresses to select when you compose an email.

I hope that what I am asking is logical and someone out there will be a solution because I know that I'm not the only person using several e-mail on the same Yahoo account alias.

Thank you, in advance, for any help you are able to provide.

    Chris

Hello and welcome to Apple support communities, OMMBoy.

If I understand your post right, you are wanting to be able to set up your Yahoo/SBC Global account once in post, rather than implement them separately, but still be able to choose one or the other when you dial an outgoing message. I know from personal experience, how practical is to be able to choose the account that come from your emails, so I'm happy to help you find a solution for this today!

It is not a way to 'merge' mail accounts in the mail that you mentioned, but hopefully that won't matter because it seems that these two accounts are already merged on the side server. That you would do so first remove one of these mail e-mail accounts so that only rest. It shouldn't make a difference, that you decide to keep. You can find steps on how to remove one of these email accounts in Mail for Mac: Configure Mail with your email accounts, specifically this section:

    Delete an account

When you delete a mail e-mail account, messages from the account are deleted and are no longer available on your Mac. The copies of the messages remain on the mail server account and are still available (from webmail, for example).

Important: If you are not sure if you want to keep the messages are still on the mail server, move or copy them to a mailbox stored on your Mac (the mailbox appears in the section on my Mac in the mail sidebar) before deleting the account in Mail.

    1. Choose Mail > Preferences, and click accounts.

    2. Select an account, then click on the button Delete .

Note: If the account is used by other applications on your Mac, you are prompted to delete the account in Internet accounts system preferences. Click the button to open an Internet account, and then clear the box e-mail for the account. To stop using the account in all applications, make sure that the account is selected, and then click the button Delete .

Once you have one of these e-mail accounts deleted, you will follow the steps of Mail (Yosemite): use e-mail alias, to add the address to remove as an alias. Don't worry that the article shows "Yosemite", the steps are the same for Sierra.

Thank you for using communities of Apple Support.

    Take care.

  • Cannot remove additional e-mail addresses of Apple ID

    Hi all

I have two old email addresses I want to remove from my Apple ID: none of them is my main email address. In tha Apple support page on your Apple ID - Apple supported email addresses , section "additional e-mail addresses", I see:

If you want to remove one of your additional e-mail addresses, click on next to the address.

But if I go to https://appleid.apple.com/account/manage next to my additional email addresses (ACCESSIBLE to...) I see only one question mark (?), and if I touch the mouse with a pop-up explains that "This is an alias for your Apple ID email address", but no way to delete.

So, what is the way to remove unwanted email...?

    Thank you, best regards.

  • Cannot send e-mail only receive. What should I do?

    Message:
The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's e-mail address. E-mail address of the sender was * address email is removed from the privacy *'. help suggested above does not.

Implemented so that it authenticates when sending that e-mail as it does upon receipt - no doubt as the instructions from your e-mail Service Provider ask you to do.

You even cited a web page in error you may have used as a starting point.  I used it, then did a search for "e-mail" and went to this page:

    http://www.att.com/eSupport/article.jsp?SID=KB401570&CV=803&title=email+server+settings+ (pop + SMTP + and) #fbid = 7A2eRsYcC99

That shows that your incoming server is 'bad' at this point (although can still work with their transfer, etc.)
«Note: AT & T POP/SMTP settings recently changed to inbound.att.net and outbound.att.net.» However, if you use the old settings, they will continue to work. »

Assuming that (because I don't have another choice than demand and waiting at this point) that you are using Outlook Express (you use Windows XP, the only e-mail client that taken in hand _comes XP is Outlook Express), you can watch these instructions: http://www.att.com/esupport/article.jsp?sid=KB401573#fbid=7A2eRsYcC99 (in particular steps 16 and on...)

To set up your AT & T email account in Outlook Express, simply add a new e-mail account to your existing Outlook profile:

    1. Open Outlook Express on your computer.
    2. Select Tools, and then click accounts.

    3. Select the mail tab.

    4. Select the menu drop-down of the Add button and select mail.

    5. In the display name field, enter the name you want it to appear when you send a message and click Next.

    6. E-mail address , enter your full e-mail address (for example, * address email is removed from the privacy *), and then click Next.

Note: If you configure this account to make the AT & T e-mail Alias, enter the alias e-mail address in this field.

    7. Of the my mail server incoming is a drop-down menu, select POP3 server.
    8. Mail server incoming (POP3 or IMAP) , enter inbound.att.net.
    9. Mail server outgoing (SMTP) , enter outbound.att.net.
    10. Click Next.

    11. In the account name: , enter the full email address including the domain.

Note: If you configure this account to make the AT & T e-mail Alias, enter the full email address of the ID (primary or subaccount) associated with the e-mail alias in this area. Do not read the email alias address in this field.

    12. In the password field, enter your e-mail password and click Next.

    13. Click Finish.

  • Select the account you want to change.
  • Select Properties.
  • Select the servers tab. The box next to My outgoing (SMTP) server requires authentication should be selected.
  • Click on the settings button, make sure the radio button, use the same settings as entering my mail server, is selected, and then click OK.
  • Select the Advanced tab.
  • Check these settings:

Note: To update the secure server settings, select the box to check next to SSL first and then update the port number setting.

    • Under mail outgoing (SMTP), select the this server requires a secure connection (SSL). Enter 465 in the field to the right of the mail outgoing (SMTP).
    • Under mail incoming (POP3), select the this server requires a secure connection (SSL). Enter 995 in the field to the right mail incoming (POP3).
  • Click OK.
  • Click Finish.
  • Change of address on the default e-mail client

    Hi people,

New poster here.  Can someone help me change the email address on the native email client on my compact Xperia Z5 ' from'?

I have download the email to a mailbox hosted with the company that manages my business Web site.  The mailbox has an email address, but I use an e-mail alias that appears under the "from" address on the email sent from my office.

My Xperia is linked to the same account, but when I send mail from my phone, the email address is my mailbox and I can't seem to find a way to change to the alias.  This means that emails to reply to messages sent from my phone only go on my phone, instead of on my desk and telephone.

I looked through all the settings, but I can't find anything that allows me to enter an alias.  Can anyone help?

    Best wishes
