E-mail client reset to Windows Mail from Office Outlook on installation of the latter: How can I do this?
I recently installed MS Office and of course Outlook has been installed too. Previously, I was able to send a link to Firefox by clicking on the file option and Windows Mail (my preference) would be the load with the link included in the email that I send. She insists now loads of Office Outlook. How do I re-set to Windows Mail? Thank you.
Hello steve, please refer to change the program used to open links in e-mail

When I go on craigslist and click on answer, it too will windows mail, but I want to go to my yahoo how can I do this?
Craigslist requires that you use a default mail client. Yahoo's Webmail and not an e-mail client. You may be able to get around it with this fix. If this isn't the case, you would need a Yahoo Plus account is established in Windows Mail.

My junk mail is to get term with mail that is sent using my email addresses. How can I stop this?
I can't block emails from myself, I sometimes need to send things, so I got them at a later date.
I know that I can view the source of the message, but I just want to stop this garbage that runs through for me.
Can anyone help?
There is not really a way to do it. Just like you cannot block spam from your mailbox home - anyone can send you mail and anyone can use a false address 'return' that makes it look like it came from you.
In fact, it is incredibly easy (only 10 letters typed) to send an e-mail that looks like it comes President @ whitehouse.gov. That's how spammers do, because there is no check on email (I wish the people who invented the email 40 years ago had thought of that), but it is not just.

When I click the Microsoft icon in the lower left corner of the screen, it opens a white box of programs on the left border. Adjacent to that is a black box that has listed as an entry in "downloads".
When I open the file, I find that it contains untouched page/document I downloaded in the 9 months that I got this PC with Windows 7 Home software.
How can I prevent this from happening. I don't do anything to indicate I want to save these documents. It does it automatically. Eat my storage space and slows down the pc as well as load my backup file.
Help
Use disk cleanup and check all the boxes.
If there are multiple users on the same computer use the cleaning system and repeat offenders, check all the boxes.

I downloaded Windows XP from the Windows Service Center. It's a .exe. When I click on it, it is extracted to a folder I called "xp". How can I obtain these data on a disk to install XP from a CD? Should what steps I take? I am running Windows 7.
original title: Burning a disk XPPutting aside if the 64-bit version of XP is what you need, when you ran the exe, the file that was extracted (i.e., in the folder named "xp") should have been an ISO file.
Files ISO are CD images and are intended to be burned (NOT copied) to a writable CD.
Assuming that you have the correct hardware (CD burner), you can burn your ISO as described here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Burn-a-CD-or-DVD-from-an-ISO-file
Note that what you downloaded is NOT "Windows XP Mode" which is available for use with Windows 7 Professional, enterprise or ultimate edition. The image you uploaded is for installation on a separate computer (or in a dual-boot configuration) - assuming you have the required license keys.

I updated level of windows 7 starter edition to professional but I want to go back to the starter. How do I go about it. I also want to know how can I get my product number and the activation number.
New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.
This is how the recovery partition is available for the most popular brands
For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device
For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device
For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward
For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo
For Samsung: Press the F4 key to the Samsung logo when you turn first.
For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.
Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"

I can't install KB976325 update.
The system is Vista Ultimate (64-bit) Service Pack 2.
Error returned is
"WindowsUpdate_8007371C" "WindowsUpdate_dt000"
I did the following:
* Reset Windows Update via KB 971058
* Check the files with the file system Checker: no problem found
* Downloaded KB 976325 as a stand-alone file, the update failed (no error given)
* Ran Windows Live OneCare Safety Scanner: no problems found.
* Ran Windows Defender quick scan: no ound problems
* Clean the registry and temporary files with Windows DefenderThere must be a solution to this problem!
In desperation, I tried the Windows 7 upgrade. The upgrade failed at the last step. Vista was reinstalled and it works OK. However, I can't yet do the KB 976325 update! Oh, the Windows Defender definitions file has been updated through Windows Update fine.
Walter,
FYI-you are in the right forum. All Windows Update components are in the same enclosure. It is important to publish the specifications of your system, as you did.OK, lets start with a few basics. This KB976325 update is an update of security for Internet Explorer 7.
-First question is therefore always you use IE7 or have you moved to IE8?
-If you are looking for your update history is this show as installed KB? It is possible that it is already installed and that it is presented again for some reason any.Take a look at this article. It does not appear that you have tried these steps yet. Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers
