E-mail keeps demanding a password.

I access my online POP e-mail account via Apple Mail.  I was randomly to a Mail message password required with the icon of the Apple mail logo on this subject. I checked with my online e-mail account (which works fine) and they say they can't help and check with Apple. It's Apple who gives me the message and my email account is configured properly wth the password. She usually works well, but lately, I get the message several times a day.

Any ideas?

Thank you

Your email provider may reject your password for several reasons, including:

    • You do not use your current e-mail password. If you updated the password on another device, make sure you use the same password on this device.
    • Your email provider needs you to update or reset your password for security reasons. For example, if you have turned on googles two step of checking your Gmail account in Mail now requires the appropriate password app.

  • Mail keeps dropping the password for my hotmail and I have to go to the server settings to enter

Every time I start up my macbook pro mail fails to synchronize. It is said there is a problem with my apple ID, but must go to the preferences of mail and re - enter my e-mail password in the outgoing server details page.

Mail cannot differentiate between many different problems that can cause "server not responding do not. He has NOT lost your password. Because it can do something if the password has been bad, it ask the password once again and interfere with the old password with what you have entered.

If you know that your password is correct, I recommend dismiss you these requests and do not read anything. Open:

Mail > window > connection doctor...

to see what is happening, or ignored for a few minutes and it can repair itself.

McAfee is a huge problem with Windows Mail.  See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 if you want to use, wait until you get the job of Winmail.

Check if you can connect webmail and that works very well and it's not a problem on the end of the server messaging or because of misspelled powers.  Then delete your account in WinMail, compact and repair the database (see www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/) and make sure that you have disabled the e-mail analysis then add your account to mail back again and see if it works.

  • Suddenly Mail asks for a password, but it does not accept

I didn't mail in three days on my desktop computer.  It keeps asking for my password for aol, but will not accept it.  My password has not changed, but it does not accept it.  On all my other devices, the mail comes, and the password is accepted.

    Anyone?

As is the case with many email providers, AOL may have made some changes at their end. The usual troubleshooting step is to delete this email account > then add it back back

  • Mac mail application refuse my password repeatedly

About a week ago the Mail on my Macbook app stopped getting emails from my hotmail account. He asks me my password (I know is the right one) but she rejects him repeatedly. I have a hotmail account more added, but the mentioned problem only happens to one of them. The Mail application on my iphone works very well for both hotmail accounts. I also connected to my hotmail via Outlook.com on Safari account. Everything worked well. The problem appears only on the application of Mail from my Macbook. I don't know what to do. Please help me!

P.S. This page did not help me at all. If Mail repeatedly asks the password for your e-mail account

As long as you use the IMAP (not POP3) with Hotmail settings - >

    • Close Mail.app.
    • Go to System Preferences / Internet accounts / select your Hotmail account and delete it.
    • Reset
    • Open the system preferences / Internet accounts / add account

I had the same problem with Outlook, Hotmail, and the update that repaired it.

  • Mail keeps opening unprovoked window

Since updating to OS X 10.11, my window of Mail keeps opening without rhyme or reason.

Mail is launched, but its window is closed, then at seemingly random times, the window opens suddenly, disrupt everything I was doing at the time. This also occurs when the Mac is in sleep mode, the window previously closed mail is open from wake up sleep. This is not related to any activity within e-mail, such as new audits of email arriving, periodic new email, synchronization status of e-mail with other devices, etc.

    Everyone knows the same problem?

Is there a specific .plist file that I should try to remove?

    Thank you.

User for messages settings are in the user's library > folder of containers:

    ~/Library/containers/com. Apple.mail

If you want to experiment with: Mail to quit.

Move the com.apple.mail folder to the trash. Open Mail. You have to re-create your settings. You can always reverse this order in case of problems or to reset your original settings.
