E - post migration

I have hand bought a new lapptop. Two of my computers are upgraded to win10. In win10 I can't find the transfer file possibilities then I wonder how can I transfer my emails from the old to the new computer? Of course, both have Thunderbird e-mail program. Peas help with suggestions how to handle.

Thus, the next section after the Easy Transfer Wizard is "manually move the files.

Data migration from Oracle 9i to Oracle 11 g using the import/export utilities.
After you import the dump, users like to check the data, such as the integrity of the table.
Can we use DBMS_COMPARISON to meet? If this isn't the case, please recommend a procedure to do so.

While to check / compare the objects from source to the target, it is recommended to refer to the export and import of newspapers and make files ensure that the imported objects corresponds to that in the export log file.

I suggest the following points: -.
    1. just like a previous post, compare their number of records.
    2. empty out in txt format. On OS, diff them.
    3. If some files contain a LOB-like animals, you must write a PL/SQL block to compare, as DBMS_LOB read and write. Otherwise, copy type BFILE LOB and then use of packages BFILENAME and UTL_FILE, DBMS_LOB.

  • MAF: Migration post SSL Exception of 2.0.1-> 2.1.2 MAF MAF

    Hello Oracle Community:

I migrated my app to work from 2.0.1 to 2.1.2 MAF MAF (JDK 7 + JDK 8 |) JDev 12.1.3.0)

"I have the following Java SSLHandshakeException" ""ERROR: Transport REST – java.io.IOException: Unsupported record version SSLv2Hello '

Please let know us a solution so I can get in line with the new framework that I received a small window to make.

The URI is to return a 200 response when I test it in the browser.  Which means that my API returns the JSON object without error.  My MAF application, however, (post migration) is to return a 400 response. Things go wrong in the RestTransportLayer.

UPDATE: " " , It seems, the problem is that JDK8 clients can not connect to the SSL2 server with the default provider (SSLv2 is deprecated for a long time). To force the server to use SSL3 (or another more secure protocol)" -lots of comment below

Can you tell me what you think?

    Hello.

To be honest with you, I don't know if it is possible to change the behavior on the client side. You the best solution is to configure the server to use SSL 3.0 or, ideally, TLS. Relying on older versions of the protocols of security is a bad idea, because they are your most vulnerable backend.

  • How can I get Thunderbird to get new email servers after migration appears complete and accurate?

I used LapLink do to migrate all my files from my computer Windows 7 on my computer Windows 10 Thunderbird. first of all, I tried installing, but not running, Thunderbird before migration and all the mail at the time of migration could be found, and all the settings are the same on both computers. Unfortunately, trying to get the mail does not return messages and doesn't give any errors. So I tried to uninstall and reinstall Thunderbird (post migration) and got the same results. How can I get Thunderbird to get new messages on the server?

  • Migration of VMs from ESX to ESXi 5.5 4.0

    Hi all

What would be the best way to migrate virtual machines running cluster ESX 4.0 to 5.5 ESXi Cluster.

In my view, there are two ways to do:

    1. Map (VMFS3) LUNS to the new cluster ESXi 5.5
      1. Shut down the virtual machine under the old cluster
      2. Remove inventory under the old cluster
      3. Add the VMFS3 LUN to the title of the new group
      4. Add the server to the inventory
      5. Power on virtual machines
      6. Perhaps svMotion machine virtual of VMFS3 new VMFS5 data store.
    2. Migrate the virtual via Vmware Converter Standalone Computer Cluster again.

I think that method 1 would be the fastest, but I doubt if it is really practical, especially considering that the same data store/logic unit number will be writable by 2 different versions of ESX 4.0 and 5.5 at the same time.

And method 2 seems the best way to me before that this will give me a possibility to start the virtual machine on the old cluster conversion failed if V2V or the destination virtual machine has problems.

With above I have also considered possible vmotion, adding the former ESX host 4.0 under the pile of 5.5 ESXi but Xeon Intel processors are quite old and being unfit for vmotion, designed to allow CVS too, but for this I must put the new servers CPU up to the level of the old CPU and post migration of servers will have to close all VM to put all the servers again at their optimum level by disabling EVC.

So could someone please guide which would be the best way, because we intend to migrate about 150 virtual machines. Thank you.

between steps 1 and 2 take the new backups just in case. You have no need to have both writable for each cluster between steps 2 and 3 remove the volume from the old cluster. Also, between cold steps 4 and 5, you can migrate them to the new from the old storage.

  • Usually the post-Scripts

    Hi guys,.

I test a lot with vmware Mirage for the deployment of Windows 7.

Actuall, I write post scripts. If I update a Base Layer "post_bi_update.bat" works really well and calls the "post_core_Update.bat".

But if I spend an a Win7 XP system or run a provisioning BaseLayer, the message "migration.bat" does not work.

Any ideas how I can run a post Migration... for Winxp Win7 Migration scrip and a BaseLayer provisioningScript?

    Thanks for your help.

    Concerning

The post_migration.bat file should work for XP to 7 migration. He runs after the first reboot and after the series of 17 or more steps so that the user is locked. Can you run the file .bat manually after the migration, and it works very well then?

For the supply of the base layer, using the post_provisioning.bat file. We need to document this better.

Make sure that both files are a part of the reference machine, while the base layer is captured and placed in the appropriate folder.

  • Cold of Vcenter server migration

We change architechtures CPU from AMD to Intel.

I moved all my virtual machines with the exception of the server that is running VirtualCenter 5.01.

The database is on the machine as well.

    My plan is to:

    1. stop the server

    2. attach to the host, it's on with Vcenter client and remove from the inventory.

    3. using the Vcenter client attached to a host in the cluster I want to move to and save it on the host computer.

4 cross my fingers and the power on the virtual machine.

I fear that the center of V server will be confused when it starts on a different host and cluster

All the world did this with success?

Don't anticipate any issues... it's one of the benefits of virtualization, because virtual machines are encapsulated in a set of files, they can be easily imported/exported on any standard x 86 architectures. Although an essential part of the management of vSphere, vCenter it wouldn't hurt to keep a clone backup of it on the existing (just in case) host. Post migration you may be prompted with a uuid warning message, take a look at the below URL for the explanation:

  • Migration of Vcenter DB from SQL SERVER 2005 to SQL 2008 Express

    Hello
I'll migrate the physical vcenter server to a virtual machine, then I'll install a new VM with OS 2008R2 and SQL2008. But I need the migration plan
vCenter DB from SQL 2005 to SQL2008. VMware also recommends

Note: 1) VMware recommends now IP address and host name the same information to facilitate the migration.

    (2) software migration to different vCenter Server, Manager of update or VMware Orchestrator. For example, Site Recovery Manager is not migrated.

    (3) move the VMware Orchestrator database. You must do it manually.

We can give to vcenter server new name and IP and if yes what will be then problem occur after the post migration.

    Thank you

    vmguy

It takes to keep the same name and IP address? If we will give different vcenter and IP server name then how will transfer of post stage

If you can keep the same name of host and IP, this would make it so much easier.  That said, if you need to change the host name and IP address of vCenter you can run into issues where all your guests appear as disconnected. Usually, you can right click and choose 'connect', asked credentials for your hosts of ESXi, but after that they should remain connected.

In addition, just in case I posted above another KB.

  • Can planning the migration of 3.5.1 for EMP 11.1.1.3, be done directly?

I have a question about migration planning 3.5.1 to 11.1.1.3.

    regarding the previous post
    Migrating Planning 4.1 planning 11.1.3

We directly need it 3.5.1 a 11.1.1.3 or do we still have to take the way 3.5.1 to 9.3.x to 11.1.1.3.

Please inform me about this migration.

    Thank you

    EW says:
    NOPE

And to be honest you probably don't want even if it existed. There are so many things under the bridge that came with the tool that you should watch full review

Are you so sure with your reply NOPE. I've been involved in a number of migration like that. The software can be upgraded, but the demand is certainly, btw I'm not saying this is the way to go just that it is possible.

    See you soon

  • Mirage Pivot fails when you are using software that replaces the Windows Login (GINA) as Imprivata

When you try to perform a migration recently at a client site the pivot process has not completed as planned because of Imprivata. Imprivata is a SINGLE sign that seems to replace the Windows GINA and provides a custom login screen.

During an attempt of the Pivot process (Mirage 4.3) the start of Windows Update screen does not appear and the standard Windows login is displayed. When you manually login customer Mirage shows the USMT process is underway. This allows users to log in and is generally not the process but it does not complete the USMT process and join the domain.

This is due to the customer Imprivata, although we suspect that would happen with any product which replaces GINA of Windows.

    Workaround solution:

We are uninstalling the client of the base image Imprivata and try to apply this to be an application layer or display the migration script.

Has anyone else had this problem with a SINGLE sign or a custom GINA solution?

    Peter

We have removed Imprivata and the process worked ok. We are now reinstall using the post migration script that works

  • What are the best solutions for data warehouse configuration in 10 gr 2

I need help on solutions to provide my client for the upgrade of the data warehouse.

Current configuration: database Oracle 9.2.0.8. This database contains the data warehouse and a LOBs more on the same host. The sizes are respectively 6 terabyte (3 years retention policy + current year) and 1 terabyte. The ETL tool and BO Reporting tools are also hosted on the same host. The current configuration is really poor.

Customer cannot go for a major architectural or configuration to its environment changes existing now due to some constraints.

However, they agreed to separate the databases on separate hosts of ETL tools and objects BO. We also plan to upgrade the database to 10 g 2 to achieve stability, better performance and overcome the current headache.
We cannot upgrade the database 11g as the BO is a 6.5 version that is not compatible with Oracle 11 g. And the customer cannot afford to spend anything else than the database.

So, my role is very essential in providing a perfect solution for better performance and take a migration successful Oracle from a host database to another (same platform and OS) in addition to the upgrade.

I got to thinking now of the following:

Move the database and Oracle mart for separating the host.
The host will be the same platform, i.e. HP Superdome with 32-bit HP - UX operating system (we are unable to change to 64-bit as ETL tool does not support)
Install the new Oracle 10 g on the new host database and move the data to it.
Discover all the new features of 10gr 2 in order to data warehouse, i.e., introduction of Clause SQL TYPE, Parallel processing, partitioning, Data Pump, SPA to study the pre and post migration.
Also at RAC to provide more better solution than our main motivation is to show an extraordinary performance improvement.
I need your help to prepare a good roadmap for my assignment. Please suggest.

    Thank you

    Tapan

Two major changes since the 9i to 10g which will impact performance are
    a. changes in the default values when executing GATHER_ % _STATS
    b. change in the behavior of the optimizer

Oracle has published several white papers on them.

Since 10g is no longer in the Premier Support, you'll have some trouble connecting SRs with Oracle Support - they will continue to ask you to use 11 g.

The host will be the same platform, i.e. HP Superdome

Why do you need export if you do not change the platforms? You could install 9.2.0.8 on the new server, the database clone and then level to 10 gr 2 / 11 GR 2.

  • R12.1.1 - change in Unix platform

    Hello gurus,

Our Oracle Financials R12.1.1 environment is on two nodes: Web/Forms are on W2003 and "everything else" is on HP - UX. We develop our server HP - UX PA-RISC to Itanium. I'm looking in the migration documents, 454616.1 and 438086.1 as a guide. I have a question. Assuming we maintain the W2003 node as it is, once all the "stuff (DB and main application layer) on the HP - UX is moved from the server to the server ITanium, how many PA-RISC - what you need to do on the server W2003, so that W2003 server to 'find' the new HP - UX Server?

    Colin,

The documents referenced in your post, I can tell that you run on 10 gr 2. Therefore, please refer to (Note: 456197.1 - using Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 with a database only platform range on Oracle 10 g Release 2), step 5. Thank you
