E1550 sees no USB storage drive

I had a Toshiba HDD (1 TB) connected to my E1550. 8 months that the reader has twice had a problem with being able to save/replace the files after he successfully files for a period of time. Given that my storage device was not on the list of "approved" for the router, I assumed that is why I had problems. Then, I got a new hard drive, Western Digital My Book 2 TB, which was on the approved list. I copied the files of the Toshiba still connected to the router to the new hard drive directly connected to my computer. Once I copied all the files, I unplugged the router connected Western Digital for the E1550 Toshiba and grew up the admin router on the 192.168.1.1 address. When I went to the storage tab, it does not show any drive recognized. I checked the WD drive and it was plugged and the device light flickered. No idea why this light blinking? Find out why the disc appear on the storage tab? I tried again after resetting the modem with the WD always connected via USB drive and restarted the administration tool, still with no luck showing the disk in the storage tab. I'm at a loss what to try next. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

Ed

Hi EasyEd49. Have you tried to click on the button "Refresh" in the User Interface of the router? If you do not, please do so. If it will still not work, try to connect back the Western Digital hard drive to the computer and check if the files are still there. You can also check using different computers. In addition, to connect the Toshiba HDD back to the router and check if it can still detect hard drive.

The recovery image can be created on a CD/DVD disc or USB memory stick. As far as I know you cannot use a common USB HDD for recovery.

  • Unrecognized USB external drives. Device Manager sees them. Explore and Disk Manager can't.

It is a Mobo of P5ND Homebuild under XP SP3.

External hard drives have been installed and running. However, it was necessary to reformat the operating system. After that, some of the XHDDs have been recognized, but at this point none of them are recognized.
Device Manager sees 'Generic peripheral storage device USB' for readers, or in a case simply the letters of WD.
The devices are not detected on my computer (Windows Explorer) or disk management.
I swapped the cords and cables. I checked that hubs work, and I would stress that the hubs have external, and their own power of stand-alone XHDDs feeding.
I suspect that readers have damaged file structures, perhaps they have been disconnected because of a loss of power, or my incompetence...
In any case, they are there in Device Manager, but not in disk management or in computer.
They do not appear on other computers either.
The details of the driver for the XHDDs are the same as the internal hard drives. The XHDDs are all PATA. The IHDDs are all SATA.
There is a noise clear when they are attached and detached from the computer. The computer recognizes that something is happening.
My level is probably above beginner, but not to the expert, as I build my own units.
The XHDDs are different manufacturing. They contain data of the value and I do not want to format.

Have you tried plugged directly into the PC rather than through the hubs?

  • Removal of a USB storage device translates to a non-existent drive letter that appears.

If I plug in a USB flash drive or USB hard drive classic as a WD passport, in one of the USB ports on a G71150US with Win 7 home premium, then remove it, a new hard drive symbol and the letter displayed in Explorer 'computer '. This symbol indicates that there are 0 bytes in use and 0 bytes used or free.  This happens even if I followed the correct procedure and use the process of "remove".

What is the problem, a BIOS problem?  A Win 7 problem?

  • How to boot from simulated USB (flash drive) mass storage device?

I do some development work on the anaconda, the Installer used by Red Hat Enterprise Linux and reconstructions based off of him.  I'm testing support of USB flash drive facilities and would rather test my changes using image files from a USB drive physical - a bit like editing an .iso image to a CD instead of using a physical CD of closure.

I found a reference to the Framework of Linux-USB Gadget API, which looked exactly like what I was looking for.  After the reconstruction of the almond, I was able to run:

    • modprobe dummy_hcd
    • modprobe g_file_storage file = CentOS - 6.2 - i386 - netinstall.iso

After that, the office immediately get the image as if I had actually plugged a USB stick with the same content.

I am also able to connect this virtual USB device to a virtual machine, but when I start the virtual machine, it has no option to boot from the virtual USB device.

    Any ideas?

VMware Workstation does not directly support boot from USB but you can use a third-party utility called Plop Boot Manager to boot a bootable USB disk and you may be.

    Hello!

    Get help from hp support.

The technician suggested I make a test disc with http://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/sd/download/sd_formatter.htmlformat.

He failed and prompted the 'Protected disc' message, so my USB Flash drive was considered dead.

I went back to my dealer and proceeded to an Exchange. The dealer was not surprised: according to him, large USB Flash Drives seems to be subject to this kind of malfunction.

I hope to be luckier with the new!

can someone tell me what to do - when I plug in any device on my USB ports that nothing happens. I tried to connect my Kindle, flash drives and printers with no luck. any suggestions?

    Hello

    1. what operating system is installed on the computer?
    2. don't you make changes to the computer before the show?

Check whether the USB port even gets detected on another computer or check if different USB gets detected on this computer.

    Method 1
I suggest you to run the fixit from the following link:

Hardware devices do not work or are not detected in Windows
    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/hardware_device_problems/en-us

    Method 2:
Remove and reinstall all USB controllers.

To remove and reinstall all USB controllers, follow these steps:

    a. Click Start, click Run, type sysdm.cpl in the Open box and then click OK.
    b. click on the hardware tab.
    c. click the Device Manager button.
    d. expand Bus USB controllers.
    e. right click on each device under the Bus USB controllers node and then click on uninstall to remove them one at a time.
    f. restart the computer and reinstall the USB controllers. Restarting the computer should automatically install the drivers.
    g. plug in the removable USB storage device and perform a test to ensure that the problem is solved.

    Method 3:
check if the device is getting detected in Device Manager.
    Reference: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Open-Device-Manager

    Method 4:
check if you can access the device via the Disk Manager.

    a. Click Start, type diskmgmt.msc and press ENTER to open disk management.

  • HP pavilion 15-ns204es: windows 7 SATA storage driver hp pavilion 15-n204

    Hello:

    See if the following works...

Download the drivers from this link below (first or second file listed - 32 or 64 bit depending on the case).

    https://Downloadcenter.Intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=24293

Extract (copy) the files on a USB FlashDrive without all records.

With the flash player and the installation of W7 media connected to the computer, boot from the installation of W7 media.

After selecting the install now option, select the training - Advanced menu, Options and select the option load a driver.

You should now see the storage driver files listed.

If you check the box, it only includes the compatible driver.

Follow the prompts, and hopefully, will install W7.
