E280 v1

My e280 does not appear on my computer when it is connected and is not recognized by Rhapsody. I have not changed the settings since the last connection. The drive lights up when it is connected to the computer, but only in playback mode, not as connected to load music. All of the suggestions. I tried some of the suggestions by AutobahnSHO, no go.

Took part and found what looked like a very small piece of rubber or plastic in the port of loading. I blew and it worked when I put back it together.

  • Hope for my dysfunctional e280

I have an e280 refurb that I bought several years ago.  Earlier this week, it was pretty cold here, and when I'm in my truck for work, I noticed that my sansa turn on properly, it hung on the Sandisk splash screen. I took in the office and let it warm up to the top, then hooked to my computer and got the same results, hung on the start screen. I disconnected it and if is it turned off then assign mode of recovery and pluged it back into the computer. I unplugged the computer to see if he would restore is on its own, but it did not. I rebooted it recovery mode connected to the computer, come to her with explore (identified as 16 MB - FORMAT), downloaded the firmware v1 files and copied to the player and unplugged then it.  I started to install the firmware, and then when it's finished, restarted at a white screen. Now, it's all I can get it to power up.  It does not start in recovery mode more.

    Someone at - it suggestions?

    Thank you

I wonder if I use the wrong version of firmware when I did the format.  I saw a warning on the page of download of the firmware that said if you are using the worng version you may make the device unusable, which seems to be what I did.  Since it lights not properly, I couldn't inspected the uint to see what version it was so I guessed it was a v1 because it is quite old and it only supported upward to 2 GB flash cards. Something that I read on a sandisk page led me to believe that v2 units supported up to 8 GB flash cards.

When he didn't recover after following the update procedure, I've done some reading more and I now think that when I was able to boot in recovery mode, I should have created the empty folder sansa.fmt and him trying to re - format sound ' auto as stated in a post that I read of TheMarkster of 14/10/2008.

Your 1st post, you have not format the unit; only manually, you re-installed the firmware. They are 2 different procedures. The fact that you have even a Recovery Mode indicates that you have a model v1. V2 is not.

It wouldn't hurt to get in shape via the Recovery Mode / method of folder (or file) to sansa.fmt. Please note that this will delete all the content added by the user in the memory, so if it works, you will need to re - load all of the files you had on this subject. He also wouldn't hut to try reinstalling the firmware again, in case something is not right the first time. It looks like not is your problem, it can't hurt to do it again. You can do the format and the firmware install at the same time when connected in Recovery Mode if you wish; you have to do, then the other.

One thing I remember in stubborn cases like this, it's that people have sometimes had success goinig back and re - install the original firmware and the file version.txt to get it going again once, then update to the version of the firmware newest (and last). You may want or need to try this.

  • My e280 won't turn on and is not recognized by my computer

A while ago, I add me new music to my 8GB e280 version 2. I didn't know that the space was needed for a database, so I continued to add and Add. I thought that if I could not add more, a pop-up message box and tell me that I had no more space. I was being followed to make sure that I had less than 8 GB here. I finished and unplugged the USB cable. The login screen shifted so I had just the power button until it turns off and I turned it back. He said no "enough space for music DB. Please free 90 MB. "So, I immediately hooked the USB cable to my sansa and the computer. However, the computer would not detect my sansa. I got it on an automatic mode instead of MTP and MSC mode. No matter how many times I tried, my computer just would not sense. So I can't reformat my computer. I can't turn on my sansa, because when I do, it shows me the splash screen, then the same message "not enough space for music DB. Please free 90 MB' and then immediately closes upward. I can't change the mode and manually delete the files.

I'm in trouble real here. I can't use my sansa at all. If you know what to do, help me please!

Too bad. After reading a lot of posts here, I learned how Force MSC mode. After pushing left and plug the USB for the gazillionth time (seriously, my fingers are sore from pressing on so much), I was able to find my sansa and I reformatted. Thanks a lot guys! I am very grateful for this forum because without it, I could always be panic on my sansa died. I will follow this in the case where another mess up someone as bad as I did.

  • Video LilMonsta on e280 - goal?

E280 purchased. Start end of charge radio works well. After pressing on video/LilMonsta, opening and closing mouth poster (kind of cute), then the unit froze, but light on dial still lite up left overnight for battery to run out. OK today. What does LilMonsta do? Thought it might be some kind of virus that destroyed the data to the Sansa. Just avoid meeting? Remove? Is it "normal"? Thanks, Judy

    Grateful for your help!

  • audio cd transfer to sansa e280

How can I transfer audio cd to sansa e280?

Yep, drag and drop them on the "rocket".

The subject line accidentally used a technical term.

Audio CD is used to designate the .wav files are commercially released CD.  An album on CD's often (like Audio CD) .cda files who run your computer for real songs .wav files.

"Rip" means convert (most often in .mp3). You already have mp3s. Someone has already pulled them.

When Windows Media Player asks you an Audio CD, this means a CD like those you buy in a store. When WMP asks you if you want to make an Audio CD, this means a CD of .wav files that will play on a portable CD player or home. Remember those? Current which will probably also play MP3s, but original CD players do not have.

  • E280 v1 on Mac stay connected

I have a Sansa e280 v1 player I love it.  Double Yes, because it works with Rockbox.  On Windows or Linux, using MSC mode, the drive works fine.

On Mac, I have questions.  I plug the player and it is mounted on the desktop, showing the internal memory and microSD card.  After it mounts, the player said in writing and their going immediately disconnected.

The player will appear always on the desktop, but as soon as you try and do something for the player, it blocks the Finder to that disconnect it from the Mac.

I installed Rockbox on it and used the USB of Rockbox mode and it gives me the same question.

If I go to MTP mode, it connects and remains connected, but the Mac does not PSG, then the player never mount on the desktop.

    Stats:

Sansa e280 v1 with the latest firmware

Mac Mini 2.0 Ghz with Snow Leopard installed. 4 GB of RAM and 2 other external USB HDs.

Sansa is connected to a powered USB hub.  Same problem occurs if the MicroSD slot is inserted or not.

  • Songs slipped on e280!

Just got a great opportunity Sansa E280.  I use it for my most classic works. Today, I put a whole bunch of CD on it - not by using the method of synchronization, but not just by clicking on the music and saying "send to" Sansa.

All by listening to my Sansa and make scroll songs/songs, I noticed a few unconventional songs slipped on the drive.  I put them on, honest!  I plugged in the computer and couldn't find these songs on the My E-reader/computer (USB Sansa slot) to remove...  Where the hell are they?  I can't find them!  And how did they slip out there?

    Christina

Sync means that you somehow in the mode MTP, leaving the device is controlled by the blind tyranny of Windows Media Player and Auto-Sync.

Return to PSG, delete them, he return to MSC (not Auto-Detect), and you'll be fine.

  • My sansa e280 v2 does not recognize my 4 GB sdhc card

My sansa e280 v2 does not recognize my card sdhc and i ' v ever read other posts, but it does not work. i ' v used in msc mode, but the music does not appear. It happens on the computer, but of course I need extra space.

some posts say always use rockbox anyway, but I do not understand what to do.

RB firmware does not replace the, but rather sits next to him. You can start either at will. The Rocbox utility should install everything for you.

  • Rhapsody e280 question

    Hi all

This is my first post here so please bear with me.  I just bought an e280, I subscribe to Rhapsody and really service.  I'm afraid however that I bought the wrong model and needed an e280R. Someone please check for me, and if only it correct can download an update of the firmware that will allow me to use this drive with Rhapsody?  In short, I can do to make it work with Rhapsody?

    Thank you and God bless.

    Bill Robertson

He just switch the Mode MTP e280v1 and open the Rhapsody client.  When the device presents itself, right click on the Sansa and select allowand you are ready to charge him up.

As I mentioned above, note that file transfers will take a little longer for each track, since you are in mode "plays For Sure".

You may need to select "Let Rhapsody decide the format of the track" in the settings of the device.  If you are ready to "RAX" only, the tracks will not play on the new device.  The Rhapsody client will automatically send RAX to Sansa Rhapsody and secure WMA for the e200 base automatically, if you let it do.

The only thing that you will be away on the v1 will be Rhapsody channels.

  • Sansa e280: problem bad track/formatting (screenshots included)

Hello, I have had my Sansa e280 for a little less than a year now, and have not had any problems. recently, however, I met a block that prevented me from using my Sansa.

first of all, I turned off my Sansa one afternoon while listening to a certain title. minutes later I turn it back on to finish listening to it, and it gives me a message "Bad Track" and refuses to play. This message appears for more than half of the music that was on my Sansa (no one who has ever had this problem). I tried a few things common sense, as the withdrawal and replacement of the music. that did not help, the message was the same on the same tracks. so I removed all my Sansa music and went to the internet to find the problem.

most of the people with this problem are being told to format the Sansa. I followed the same steps several times to deal with the "this device cannot complete the format" or some nonsense. so currently, I had the original problem can only be fixed with something I can't do. In addition, my Sansa is on my desk in two pieces (I took the case off voltage and battery, nothing major).

In addition, I can't delete the video files that I have on my Sansa when I tried to manually empty my Sansa, it gives me an error in the sense of "the device cannot complete the task because it has stopped responding / is not connected.

Finally, I tried to do the other way of formatting, by starting it upward in the recovery and as a result a FAQ that I found on this site, but when I enter the removable disk in my computer, there is nothing there but a text of the document which essentially lists the details of the product.

to drag more far, here some screenshots are accompanied by more questions.

in the first note above, there are three songs, two from Rancid and one named ' AV74B8 ~ 1.MP3 '. I have no idea what is the last of them, or why he says that there is music on there - especially when I can restart it and go into the music folder and it says . Also note that they have a 0:00:00 duration.

circled in red are a ton of the same file, that too, I don't know what they are or how they did it.

Blue Square at the top, the "MUSIC" folder When I walk into this folder, it brings me to the next image

    http://i91.Photobucket.com/albums/K298/Armageddon_04/sansaproblem2.jpg

who is concerned, the same as the record in the first photo, just to show that images and not in the details. If I get the 'MUSIC' folder into this folder, it keeps looping to several records 'MUSIC '. is this a problem? I just thought it was weird

and here is a picture of my Sansa connected in recovery, there is no hidden files, I checked.

I hope this is enough information to get a response, because that's all that I can provide - please help, all entries is appreciate

You have corrupted files. You must run the command Chkdsk before attempting to format. The instructions are under #9 in the FAQsection. Also read # 12 everything in you'e it. ChkDsk will look for corrupted files and repair them (with a bit of luck). As much as you seem to have, you will need to format it after.

The reason why you were not able to format up to now is 1.) your files are too corrupt. They need to be repaired to the point where they can be deleted by formatting and 2.) It seems that if your player is in MTP mode. You must switch to MSC mode to format.

Don't worry, it's not as bad as it sounds. It's just that you'll have to re - load it all after formatting. If you have recently added a few songs just before this problem started, look in the ID3tags of songs with a program like MP3TAG before you put them on your player. If you have any strange characters or foreigners in here, especially in the COMMENTS section, delete them. The correct version of tag you want is ID3v2.3 ISO-8859-1. There are other versions, but this is one (the only) who will work on the Sansas.

If you have corrupted ID3tags and not corrected before re - load these files on your drive, you're going to do this whole procedure all over again. Just take it step by step and you will be OK.

  • E280 plugged into a USB port may be bad and it fried my sansa?

Hello everyone, this is perhaps my last posting! I am so sad and upset: I just plugged my V1 e280 on a friends computer using a sandisk connector cable I got free on a freebox (variable n ° 1) and plugged into the front USB port (variable n ° 2); He turns, and then now it won't turn at ALL.  I opened the back and took out the battery, and it was VERY HOT.  I messed up with the battery for a while and it won't always turn.  Then I plugged it in USB computer port (my friend just told me, "those before does not work") and still it won't turn.  HOWEVER, a minute or two later, always connected, the BLUE RING OF DEATH on and is always turned on, ten minutes later while the screen is still blank, until the unit is now so hot that they are almost HOT.  I put it in the refrigerator.

So.  That's happened?  I'm f * cked?  Whose heads will roll for this disaster?  PLEASE HELP I CAN'T UNDERSTAND THIS.

    Thank you very much

YES, I'M SURE IT IS a SANSA CABLE, it says "SanDisk" on it and is similar to my own cable.  What diff he would do anyway, the device is F - ed.  Also, it turns out that it was the old cable and not the other, although a big deal.  Any advice for me?

  • SanDisk sansa e280 V1 keeps looping (stucks) on the spalsh screen

    Hello

I had a serious problem with my Sandisk e280... The other day I was listening to just when all of a sudden my mp3 restarted without any warning... now it's keeps looping on the home screen (black screen and "Sandisk" in white letters). Normally after the splash screen, you will see the main screen (menu), but my screen goes white then leaves (splash screen).

    Someone at - it suggestions?

    Thankss!

    Try:

1 - holding the power button for 20 seconds to "reset". (and then turn it on)

2 - take the battery for 30-60 seconds, then put the file in

3 - switch to recovery mode, create a folder called "Sansa.fmt" and drop it onto the Sansa. It reformats itself when you turn it off. (DO NOT NEVER FORMAT the disc "16 MB format"!)

4-if those who do not work, sometimes the 'Chip RAM' wiggles loose. Please dissamble it, push it in firmly and try again. Photos and instructions are HERE.

  • E280 crashes at startup, will not be reset, will not update of firmware

I had a lot of problems with my e280 v1. I tried a lot of different firmwares. The last of them is e200fw01.03.01beta and it worked for a few months, but now it crashes at startup and nothing that I makes no difference. Is there a way to remove the firmware. I tried with the latest firmware recovery mode, but it is not just. I know that it would take a few tests, but 17? Usually, there is a 'last resort' thingy on devices like this, but I can't find anywhere help, please!

If this has been answered before, please point me in the right direction.

Ah, the dreaded Hebrew Beta firmware!

Go to anythingbutipod.com and search for «Hebrew Beta»  There is a thread there with instructions on how to restore your Sansa to normal operation.  The problem is that some files are renamed in the Beta firmware, making the move a pain.

The thread he explains the process in detail.

A change that I recommend is to download a copy of the firmware 1.02.18 or 1.02.24 on the Web of SanDisk site, rather than a source third.  The two libraries of firmware are available here.

Once the files are renamed correctly, you can load the original firmware.

I like the Lil Monsta.  It is more important to have a Sansa running.
