E3000 - keep or too hot?

Hi - I have a relatively casual decision and bought the e3000. As I was looking for some questions tech here, and besides, I was rather disturbed by the number of posts which suggested that this attitude is too hot to be reliable. In addition, one person said that a tech told them, that he was not supposed to be used 24/7. (!)

I must stress that I am not too concerned about other issues, such as the installer of comments, etc. I have a simple home network. Plug, play and move forward. I'm worried if the router can actually do its job and not every 8 months.

So I have to ask for recommendations. Shortly, I will have a brand-new package arriving. Should I keep? East - reliable? Or should he come back? For the moment, it's easy to do.

If you want to use the network of comments, then you need to configure the router using Cisco connect.

Follow this link for more information on the network of comments.

    Hello

A few days ago, I had a similar problem that the laptop was also very hot. So I cleaned up the laptop with a jet of compressed air, and I was very surprised how much dust came out.
I followed the instructions in this FAQ from Toshiba document:

I hope this can help you and if not, you should go to the authorized service provider nearest. They can check the laptop.

Could be heat related - try using a small fan to blow into the air intakes to see if that helps.

Remove ALL power and reinstall all the memory cards and cables (both ends where possible).

  • Mac Book Pro is not too hot.  It is time to replace the battery?  Can I replace the battery?

MacBookPro is not too hot.  It's time to change the battery?  Can I do it myself?

The Mac runs his fans in a feedback loop, based of the internal temperature measured.

If the temperature goes up and the fans are not speed up to compensate, you probably have a hardware problem.

If the Mac becomes too hot, it will make an uncontrolled emergency power off.

EDIT: Replacing the battery is a completely separable question not related to temperature. Is the Samsung phone batteries that catch fire, not Mac.

  • Satellite A300 - Touchpad gets too hot

I bought a Satellite A300 last week and I noticed that when I use the computer for an hour or so the touchpad becomes very hot.
And also the area of the left hand next to the touchpad.

Is this normal? Is there a way to reduce it?

    Thank you

    Pedro.

    Hi Pedro,

I put t know what what is for you hot and wasn't, but on my Toshiba Satellite laptop I've never had a problem that it too hot.

Normally, I recommend to clean the laptop with a jet of compressed air, but I think that is not necessary because the laptop is only a week.
Maybe the fan or the heatpipe is malfunctioning. Or the thermal grease to be renewed

I put t know but in your case, I would go to an authorized service provider. Technicians can check your laptop and it should be free, because the laptop must be under warranty if it s a week-old.

My Satellite L735 (Windows 7), which is about a year has recently begun warming up.

After a maximum of 30 minutes, it becomes too hot to be kept on the knees. It warms primarily on the side of the vent. I am currently out of the country and would not be able to show it to the warranty Center.

    How to use your laptop?

Using special applications requiring high graphics performance?

You know that's not easy to say anything on this subject. Usually, when the laptop is placed on the desk and when aeration is cooling system for laptop free s should be able to reduce the temperature of the material and cool all hardware components.

  • Tecra 8100 CPU gets too hot

Well, some may remember my previous post about the fan activation in my Tecra 8100.

This laptop came to me as a gift by a customer, because the screen didn't work. After some research, the problem was the internal cold cathode that was broken. Once replaced: Yes! a free book for me! It was a Pentium III 650 Mobile, with 64 MB of RAM and a 12 GB hard drive. I replaced all the components (which are now on sale, btw), and now has a Pentium III 850 Mobile, 512 MB of RAM and a 40 GB hard drive. Someone gave me a card PCMCIA of WiFi 11 Mbit/s, and now how it works with Windows XP Professional and updated Toshiba Utilities and drivers downloaded from Toshiba USA.

What's the buzz? SpeedFan, Motherboard Monitor and other monitoring utilities reported temperatures up 72a? Aºc in the processor. I opened the computer laptop and put thermal paste instead of the sticker that has the heat sink. Temperature guard high and utilities Toshiba even with parameters ' cooling high performance "does not have the fan to cool the cpu...

I hangs at all, but the business cards and pcmcia laptop have too hot even with the system works with any of the applications running. Lowering of the CPU clock or the ratio helps not at all.

I think putting a fan somewhere extra to force air circulation and that cool the cpu, unless...

... Toshiba could develop a utility that allows you to directly control the fan speed. I don't know if the thermal management is hardware or software-driven. If it is a software-driven, it should be easy to create a utility that directly access the fan and temperature records. It would be MUCH better than simply let the computer decide when and how long to activate the fan.

I'm sure that Toshiba engineers are busy with more important things which will not create the utility for us, so...

.. What to check or do to cool the CPU at more appropriate values?

    Thank you all!

    Hello

As in you previous announcement describes the Toshiba power saver controls the CPU and fan usage.
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=12585
This software works very well, and if you use the laptop as prescribed, you should not get all the problems and overheating problems.

The problem is that you have changed all the devices and parts on you laptop. The new parts are effective, but produce more heat.
On the laptop you can cool the CPU with a small fan, and if she goes out, it is necessary to decrease the performance of the processor.
It is a simple fact. All these functions can be set with energy saver.
In addition, it is very important that your cooling module is clear and free from dust and debris obstruct the work of fan.

  • Satellie Pro P100 - overheating or too hot

    Hello

I have a Satellite Pro P100, PSPAEE, that runs way too hot, the GET so hot that I have to stop using it as my hand keyboard and the base is sick after getting too hot.

It all started when I did a lot of driver and BIOS updates, because I have them all at the same time it is difficult to know if it is a driver or the last BIOS that causes this problem.

Before I got them used fan be racing monte and down constantly like a yoyo, even when it is cold, the BIOS updated has now run fairly regularly but I don't think it of this or not, this alone.

I don't see a older BIOS on the support pages so don't think that I can do this backward. I've seen a few posts about having to use the Toshiba NVIDIA video drivers, otherwise it can overheat, but all my drivers are of Toshiba.

Toshiba Support or anyone else has any ideas, what happened only since the BIOS and update the driver so I can't imagine it's only my machine who suffers with this.

    Thank you

    Duncan

    Hello

Have you tried to clean up your laptop using a jet of compressed air? This could blow out the dust from the cooling fans. I always use a can of compressed air to clean my laptop because it is very easy and I you must remove.

In addition, it would be interesting to know what are the OS you have installed.

Have you downloaded the BIOS for your laptop model (PSPAEE)?

If you Windows XP, you can change the method of cooling and Toshiba Power Saver under Vista in power options.
    Check it!

  • P series too hot and sound card problem

    Hello

in recent weeks, I have a problem with the temperature. The P series of satellites is much too hot, even if only the essential progs are running, the processor runs with 100% very often. Without the Task Manager (to close the CPRS) of "windows" the machine crashes several times down!

And since I've updated the driver sound in August this year, the sound may not be performed correctly. The sound card is not identified by diff. progs. MP3 direct cut and sound blaster, during the race.
I can't save anything! So bad!

    Hello!

Clean the laptop? You can use spry compressed air could blow the dust from the cooling fans. So do not disassemble anything.

Which audio driver use? Toshiba or manufacturing as Realtek? Maybe there already is a new or try again with the old driver.

Moreover, what Satellite phone do you have?

    Hello

The fan that was installed in the satellite P100 expected works well and should be able to cool the CPU without any problem.
I recommend you to check the settings in the energy saver. There, you can choose between different modes.
It is also important that the fan grids are free. The air circulation is very important for the cooling of the processor

  • Satellite A500 is too hot

    Hello

I got what I call a sort of problem.
For awhile now, my laptop (A500 - 14L) become sometimes too hot and turns off automatically. I discovered that it was specifically the left side of the computer (I guess, display driver) which was raging upwards and can sometimes get to use the computer for a long time if I put only halfway on a table (left side on anything...)

Today, I tried to buy a cooler (logitech) and tried to play starcraft 2... Well, I can simply! .... Cooler is not enough, and, according to a software that I just downloaded, GPU quickly rises to more than 100 ° C and 230 ° F. It's too hot I guess, but I don't know what to do? What more that a cooler could buy? Is - this usual? My GPU is an Ati Radeon 4650
I thank very you much for any help. As you may have guessed, it's pretty frustrating...

How much time do you have your Satellite A500?
I can imagine cooling grill is full of dust and maybe the laptop needs to be cleaned.

You can use some additional coolers, but if the cooling rack is blocked by dust it help at all.

  • X100e stops too hot,

Last month and 4 times my X100e (AMD Athlon Neo MV-40, 3 GB of RAM) got too hot, to the point where he stopped himself. I did not notice that it was an emergency stop, temp of related, but I guess because the bottom of the unit has been extremely hot.

One of those occasions that I was transferring video to my Zune player, other 2 times I was downloading music and 1 just to listen to music while browsing the web.

-What seems normal? I ran some tests with the Thinkvantage Toolbox and it says that the temperature reached 86 degrees c... and he was not as hot as the other times.

I have owned a Thinkpad for over 10 years and I've never had such problems. I don't know if this is normal for this model, or I received a defective unit.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Sorry for my bad English by the way.

  • Acer Aspire 5741 G too hot temperature with Debian GNU/Linux

My Acer Aspire 5741 G would become too hot using Debian GNU/Linux.

Any ideas on how to get the same cooling effect as with Windows 08/07/10?

Using Microsoft Windows, it is never too hot and I suppose it has something to do with the control of the fans of the laptop.

Had no luck with the bios, but it looks like I solved the problem for now.

For those who have a similar problem, here is my solution:

    1. I installed the driver real official owner of AMD for the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470.

    2. I completely disassembled and cleaned the laptop then assembled again.

Now, I have worked with him for more than 6 hours and I can't have more than 50 degrees celsius in all hearts.

I think / hope that should do the trick until the end of the lifetime of the laptop.

Thanks to the community for your thoughts.
