Disk hard diagnosis fails with error GU077V-6R7899-MFGJXG-60SV03 code.  What is the restore/repair for this?

Dear customer,

Whenever the hard drive test short DST fails indicating that the hard drive has failed and which needs to be replaced to solve the problem

This problem could be due to an Application or a driver conflict, virus issues, corruptions of files due to incompatible applications, incorrect judgments, update failures due to conflicts, mounted sudden power so portable, sudden falls etc...

HP will offer a replacement HDD if the laptop warranty is Active, otherwise you can buy a SATA hard drive in a nearby retail store

Please make sure that you get at least equal as long as the original one in order to use recovery disks. If you need you can buy a bigger, but not smaller hard drive capacity. For example, if you have a 500 GB hard drive you can improve it to 750 GB hard drive, but not 320 GB hard drive

Please try the troubleshooting below indicated once the steps:

Step 01. Remove the battery and unplug the power adapter AC.

Step 02. Press and hold the power button for more than 30 seconds

Step 03. Plug the AC power adapter / (leave the battery for now)

Step 04. Press the power button and check if the unit is operating normally

If the steps listed above is not enough, then you can try reinstalling the hard disk on your laptop

If the problem persists again please Contact HP if your HP laptop is under warranty, HP could replace the hard drive and provide recovery media to restore the operating system to factory after the replacement (if you have not yet created recovery disks/USB support)

Note: Back up all personal data on an external drive if possible. Otherwise, you can connect the faulty HDD through SATA USB adapter with another PC or a PC even after replacing the drive HARD and reinstall the operating system and try to copy / retrieve files.     I checked the ID of the failure, you've posted and verifies that the error. Unfortunately, this means that your hard drive needs to be replaced.  In view of the fact that the system does not boot, it is likely that the hard drive is completely unreadable, but depending on what you have on this subject, it may be worth your while to check with a local computer service shop and see if they can help to recover data from your hard drive.

    Otherwise you can look at a replacement hard drive yourself. If you have a set of recovery media, then you already have a factory image HP, which allows you to put in place a new hard drive with your original operating system. If is no longer, you have a set or did not have a set of recovery media, so you can see if there are not yet available for your model.

    I'm not really sure what that means but good now my laptop is useless and all my important photos are still about this. The warranty has expired August 2014 so I wonder what could be wrong and if I would be able to save my photos.

    This is not a Virus problem, presents a hard drive failure, there may be many reasons for you hard disk to fail.

    The following hard disks are fault condition:

    No major change except the recorded images and visit the different websites before this error occurred. Use different Wifi access than usual the night before that I was visiting a friend.

    I have a model p6310f desktop that had a hard drive failure.  I bought an SSD and install.  I looked for a recovery disk; However, I have not found one.  I was told that the recovery disc is on the hard drive in a separate partition.  Is this really the case?  If so, how can I access the recovery if the hard drive is still not recognized?

    Be aware that recovery discs do not always work on an SSD - if the capacity is much smaller than the original hard drive and SSD size wasn't an option initially offered on your model. You could make your own Windows 7 installation dvd in this case, as long as you have the intact lable on cases with license key. Let me know if you want to try this option.

    Since this laptop does not have a DVD player, I'm not sure on how to proceed with this, even if I have a portable DVD player.

    I feel bad, it happened when I tried to help him and want to do right well I don't want to spend much money on this low special end of Wal-Mart.  It's one year warranty, and the cord is low quality too was replaced twice.

    You must enable secure in the BIOS first start and then turn on legacy mode get new material, working on the laptop. You can also change the order of boot on USB to boot from USB but I think that by pressing F12 or F10 shows you boot options fast without change anything whatsoever in the BIOS.

    I think the error message says it all and you need to replace the HARD drive, something is the cause of this problem.

    Is your laptop under warranty? If so, simply contact a service provider allowed in your country and ask for help. Technicians can repair it free of charge.

    Make your model have two hard drives, or is it only a configuration of hard disk?
