E9150T - Windows 7 Media Center - IR hardware not detected

Hello.  I finished the upgrade from Vista to Windows 7 earlier today.

While the upgrade went OK, Media Center can't access hardware IR for a reason any.

I always get the IR hardware not detected error message.

I do not anything with the prior agreement of material or after the upgrade.

I'm running on an E9150T and I think IR's eHome Infrared Receiver via USB.

Any help is appreciated as I did not find anything Googling for the last two hours.

PDXPat

Problem seems to be resolved.  Do not know which of the following has solved, but I made the following two tasks:

1. connect a second infrared device on the second port of the IR Blaster.  Previously, it was empty.  Alone, this does not solve the problem.

2. the system to reboot.

3 went through a detailed set / Media Center, and simple configuration.

Alto!  The IR Blaster seems to work now...

    Hi all

It's my whole first time attempt to install a tv tuner and set up and I have difficulties. I try configuring a hauppauge hvr 1850 in windows media center on windows 7 64 bit. My TV provider is directv and windows media center detects my decoder when it searches for tv signals. It does not detect my tv tunter as well, but he says no signal and I have to configure manually. After you manually configure my tv tuner, I get another message saying "ir hardware not found." I tried a lot of workarounds and none of them does not seem to work, I have a windows media center certified remote provided with my tv tuner and I can control everything in windows media center, but it stops said ir hardware not detected. I need help serious because I am running out of options. Does anyone use directv on this particular tv tuner?

Have you downloaded Windows Media Center remote control receiver/blaster configuration utility?

Go through the procedure step by step, as described in the following article: -.

  • Windows Media Center IR hardware not detected

Hi, I'm stuck at the 'IR Hardward not detected"when you try to set up the TV.

I am in Australia and have a wireless component gets my digital signal in another room.  www.cocoonsystems.com.au I run a Haupaggue (spelling?) TV tuner.  The TV tuner may display the signal from my cocoon via its product called WinTV.  It is consulted on the Composite connection.  (PC is a new computer from Dell with Vista desktop loaded)

So, when I go to configure Media Center to see the signal as I do the following:
    1. set up TV signals
    2. Australia region
    3. choose antenna
    4. Select digital terrestrial
    5. Select Yes (for the view through a decoder, because the other option does not find my signal)
    6. He found the photo and playback of the sound by means of Composite 1, so I select it
    7 IR hardware not detected.

Media Center doesn't let me step by-pass 7 if I don't have an infrared connection.  I have no need of my PC to change the channel because I use the remote control digital TV to change the channel through the Cocoon system.

Is there a way someone knows I can work around that this troublesome matter of IR hardware not detected?  I can only assume if I had my video camera connected through the Composite connection I would have the same problem too, because that was not a remote control.

    What can I do?

    Balibooblue,
Thank you for visiting the Microsoft Answers community forum.

The only way I know to bypass the need for a hardware device to IR during the installation of Media Center to watch TV is to use a "virtual" infrared device  There is one called "Vista MCE IR Blaster" is a file that you download from the Internet that simulates an infrared device.  You will need to do a search for it.  Or you can buy the hardware Media Center application relatively cheaply online, on the USD $20.

Using third-party software, including hardware drivers can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the use of third-party software can be solved. Software using third party is at your own risk.

  • Windows 8 Media Center Pack received not e-mail with key

I bought Windows 8 Pro Upgrade today and installed windows 8 pro

I see that Windows 8 Media Center Pack is free and gave my email for the product key

Its been more than 5 hours now and no email has been sent and I see that a lot of people have had the same problem and they did not also get email with product key online

Is there a problem with the system and when going to be fixed because I've seen no official response yet to explain why people do not get the email with the product key

This requires an answer because it is not good the first day of the windows 8 released summer and the offer was not given to those who asked me

I understand if it's a server problem and it overloaded with requests but can anyone Microsoft please update as to why we do not get the email with the product key

    Hello PaulBoland

A recent response to another thread http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-windows_install/i-have-not-received-my-product-key-for-my-windows/ecf1ec5a-231b-42e0-bb88-b2d9f21ad3a2 suggests that it takes at least 24 hours before the key is received.

Remember that Windows 8 has only just been published, there will be thousands of people who are trying to get the software and the product key free for Windows Media center.

  • Media Center TV error: not detected IR receiver.

I plugged properly the IR cable (and the "pouf"), but I can't turn my TV through Media Center.  I keep getting the error message: IR hardware not detected.     It worked fine until I had to have a new hard drive installed, with media Center - the XP version - need to be resettled.

    • ... My fact computer receive TV (via S-video) signal.
    • And I am convinced that I have the IR cable is connected directly over signage to distance from the box by satellite.
    • My IR equipment was purchased with my computer, via the gateway.  The IR has a name brand on the back, called "SMK".
I honestly don't care even if the remote control work-I just want to be able to watch (and record) the TV via my computer.   - But I can't complete the configuration of the TV, it me stops with this error message every time.
    Help someone?  Please?

Thanks for the ideas.  In the meantime, I found a way around, by attaching listeners both ports the pouf - and through various tests, I managed to fool my computer allowing me to configure the TV manually, at least partially.  It is not completely functional - that I can't control my receiver via my computer... but I never able to do this, even if my computer has been directly from the factory.  (and Yes, I have the little 'eye' attached directly above 'eye' on my receiver).  ... At this point, I was kinda afraid to throw my current settings.  But I'll keep your suggestions in case I have have other difficulties or be too frustrated with my set-up.

    Thanks much for the thoughts!
  • Windows Media Center TV tuner not detected

My current operating system is Windows Vista Home Premium Service Pack 2
    (I installed SP2 from microsoft.com)
I have the Version of the Windows Media Center - Windows Vista 6.0.6002.18030 software (vistasp2_gdr.090429 - 2357).  I'm trying to watch TV on my laptop.  I have Windows Media Center and am confused about the version because I saw this - if the version number is 6.0.6001.18000, you are NOT running Windows Media Center TV Pack.  You are running the version of Windows Media Center, which is included in Windows Vista or in Windows Vista SP1.

As you can see my version (numbers) are alittle different on the end, also the info in parentheses (vistasp2_gdr.090429 - 2357) I don't know what that means.  When I tried to configure the tv signal in Windows Media Center, I was told: the TV signal cannot be configured because no tv tuner hardware was detected. So, how can I find out if there is an internal tv tuner installed and everything is not detected?  My laptop is new - 3 weeks, and I think that all the drivers are current.   While they inspected the help windows vista hardware compatibility list for 64-bit vista tv tuners, I was flooded for more information that I knew what to do with.  I'm obviously not a computer genius and will never be.  I'm open to suggestions.  I just need to know what I have to do to be able to watch TV on my laptop.  Any help will be appreciated! Thank you.

  • Qosmio F30: How-to: Manual Installation of Windows Xp Media Center Edition 2005

Manual installation of Windows Xp Media Center Edition laptop Toshiba Qosmio F30 computer 2005
    Last updated October 3, 2006

    Important notes before starting:

1 - the steps used for "Toshiba Qosmio F30" and for others models Qosmio that comes with "Intel Centrino Duo" Cpu and Xp Media Center 2005 installed.

    2. apply these steps if you have previous experience in the installation of Windows Xp, if you have that experience, then you can use the provided recovery CD to restore your system.

3 - Windows Xp Media Center Cd is not provided with your laptop, if you have the Cd you can purchase from many online shops and in this case you will get the product key valid Windows Xp which you'll not need (because you already have one, you will find in it a small sticker on the back of your laptop and you can activate your Windows with it).
In other words (you need for the first and the second Cd of Windows Xp Mce 2005 SP2 Oem).

    4. do not try to implement these measures on the other Versions of Windows Xp, use "Windows Xp Media Center Edition 2005 Sp2 Oem" only

    5. you must have the Usb floppy drive to install "Toshiba Raid Controller", it can be installed that by having the driver on a floppy disk and pressing F6 during the setup of Windows Xp, if you do not install the Raid driver then will Windows Xp does not recognize your hard drive.

    6 - notice of disclaimer
I don't will not be responsible or liable, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused or allegedly caused by or in connection with the use of this site or its content, including but not limited to delays, omissions and inaccuracies in content.

    Steps to follow:

1 create drivers Cd of "Toshiba help utility", you should see the Toshiba help icon on the desktop, and then in the Toshiba help choose the "protect & difficulty" tab, you will find the Option ' create drivers & tools Cd "and insert a Cd Virgin to write to this
"If this Option did not work, then you must install the restore Cd to get this job", the drivers are installed in a folder called Toolscd in the C:"" drive. To install your recovery Cd Power on your laptop and the "F12" hold and use the arrow keys to select the icon of the CD to boot from the Cd.

    2. create the Toshiba Raid since the driver Cd driver, the Toshiba Raid driver must be added during the Installation of Windows XP when they are asked to "Press F6 if you need to install a third party SCSI or Raid Driver".
To do this, insert the Cd of ' Windows' drivers, it will run automatically or Run "Browser.Exe" inside the Cd The 'Raid Driver' and click on Select 'Installation', it will show you the Raid driver files, insert A Blank Floppy and copy the files in The Floppy 'To be sure that all the files be on the root of The Floppy' or to download the Toshiba RAID driver from the Toshiba web page download driver and extract the file zip on a diskette. Yet once, all files must be at the root of the floppy disk not in a folder"

3 - Connect your Usb floppy drive and insert your Cd of Windows Xp Mce 2005 1 turn on your laptop Hold "F12" and use the arrow keys to select the icon of the CD to boot from the Cd.
When you get the Message «Press any key to boot from CD...» ", press a button, if you do not press a key, it does not start from CD-ROM, press F6 when prompt to 'press F6 if you need to install a third party Scsi or Raid Driver".
The Setup program continues until you are asked if you want to "S = specify additional device. Press' and specify the driver Toshiba Raid for Xp. press "enter" to continue with the Installation.
Do not upgrade your Installation of Xp, start new Windows Installation and Partition on your hard drive, Windows Installation will be ask you to insert Cd 2, and will copy some files and will ask continue you to insert Cd 1 once again, with the installation until Windows finish the installation of the.

4 - after Windows finishes the Installation insert the Cd drivers and select "Microsoft Updates" from the Drivers Cd click 'Installation' button, click on "Qfe" and ONLY install the following updates (don't let the updates restart your PC until you have finished installing all of the updates)
    A Q896256
DIFFICULTY 'computers that are running Windows Xp Service Pack 2 and that are equipped with multiple processors that support processor power management features may experience decrease in performance'

D - Q896243 (very Important, this will make SD and MMC cards for work)
DIFFICULTY "ADD Support high-speed SD card"
Other updates are not required to install, because you will install it later when you run Microsoft updates website updated Microsoft after finishing to activate your Windows.

5 - Download and run "Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility' of the Intel Web site
    (Restart your PC after Installation)
Do not install "Driver Chipset" since the drivers Cd, this is an old Version, try installing the most recent from the link above.

6 - install the "Display Driver" of the Cd of drivers (no need to reboot).

Go to control panel, system, Hardware, player signature properties, select "ignore - install the software...". »
Go to control panel, system, hardware, Windows Update properties, select never 'search Windows Update for drivers'

    7. now you must configure your Internet connection and activate your Windows so that you can run "Windows Updates" from the Microsoft Windows Update Web site
Your Internet may need one of the following drivers (depending on your Modem)
A if you your Internet through LAN then install the 'network' of the driver Cd driver.
B if you your grace wireless Internet then install the wireless network driver "" of the driver Cd.
C if your Internet via USB then install the driver provided by the manufacturer of your Modem.
D if your Internet through Dial-Up connection and then install the "audio driver" driver CD, this driver will install the audio driver and activate the Modem device and a Message appeared "find new hardware, peripheral Modem" ignores the Message and restart your PC then install "Modem Driver" of the driver Cd.

    8. now, go to the Windows Update Web Site and install all required updates "try to run Windows updates several times until you install all updates, because initially, Web site will updated Windows Installer 3 files only after this restart, your computer and go to the Windows Update Site again and continue to install updates. ", select the custom updates and install all critical and optional updates to date."

9 - install "Common Modules" of the driver CD this module is an essential component on Windows XP systems, it is necessary to other original programming TOSHIBA works correctly.

10 continue to install the other drivers and Utilities CD of drivers, but do not install the drivers following: -.
    Atheros Client Utility "no need".
Bluetooth Monitor "do not install, install only the"Bluetooth Stack".

Enjoy your PC powerful Qosmio Toshiba laptop.

  • "IR hardware not detected" error when you try to configure the TV signal in Windows XP Media Center 2005 with Service Pack 3

I have an HP dv6000t. He came with Yuan EC680 ExpressCard analog TV
Tuner. When I upgraded to Vista, the IR receiver seemed to be detected,
but after downgrading to XP MCE 2005. XP MCE 2005 was the ORIGINAL OS
on the system (bought in November 2006). I've updated the drivers for the TWO
the tuner card AND who do not HAVE the nVidia GeForce Go 7400 video card
address this problem. Any suggestion on how to solve this problem would be greatly
appreciated. What HP had try me, including Sofpaq fixes are not
address my problem. It does not give the error "IR hardware not detected".
overnight, it correctly detects the signal from my digital cable box.
The main problem could partly be the we FINALLY converted to digital television
signal and I always try to use the analog tuner ExpressCard? Once again
    any help is greatly appreciated.

I found this fix on another site.  We're supposed to plug the IR cable to the TV box at the back of the first port on the remote sensor Windows Media (the ' antenna' of the Windows Media Center remote control) and then to put the tip of the probe of the IR cable to the cable TV box distance near the sensor on the cable box (it can be seen by a light in the glass) and then complete the configuration of the channels in Windows Media.  The problem is, it does not work unless there is also something connected to Port 2 of the medial distance sensor Windows as well (a head set will do).  With the sensor box IR cable company cable plugged into the first port in the back of the remote Windows Media sensor and headphones plugged into Port 2 of the remote sensor, Windows Media, and the end of the probe of the sensor cable box IR cable near the cable box remote sensor box, Window Media channel setup "found" the cable of the IR sensor and allow me to complete the installation.  I could not bind the Windows Media remote sensor with the remote for the cable box, but said that I managed.  I use the remote cable box to change channels and have box IR cable connected on the decoder cable TV and put the cable box IR receiver cable on top of my desk.

    Hi James,

Welcome to Microsoft Community where you can find all the answers related to Windows.

According to the description, it looks that you are not able to install Windows XP Media Center.

I have a couple of steps that should help you to solve this problem.

Follow these 4 steps to install the KB925766 correctly:

    a. if the 886904 update is installed, you must uninstall the 886904 update before you install the Update Rollup 2 for Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. Otherwise, the installation of .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 will fail.

To determine whether the 886904 update is installed, follow these steps:

    i. click on start, run, type appwiz.cpl, and then click OK.

II. Click to select the show updates check box.
III. in the list currently installed programs, locate the following item:

Fix for Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 (KB886904)

If you see this option, you must remove the hotfix. To remove the patch, click on the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 (KB886904) Hotfix and then click on remove. Then, visit the Windows Update Web sit to download and install the Update Rollup 2 for Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005.

    b. to install this update, you must have Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 and .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 installed. Windows Update detects whether these packages are installed. Windows Update automatically installs these packages for you.

    (i) follow the link below to download the .net framework 1.1 manually:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=262D25E3-F589-4842-8157-034D1E7CF3A3&displaylang=en

    http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=a8f5654f-088e-40b2-bbdb-a83353618b38&displaylang=en

    c. cumulative update 2 for the Windows XP Edition Media Center 2005 (KB900325)
Follow the link below to download and install the KB900325:
    http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=e5daf37e-E243-4410-BC51-81cf2b56fe6e

  • Windows XP Media Center Edition computer will not start.

When it starts, I get a BootMagic screen that allows me to choose the normal Windows operating system or partition DOS6. The next screen is text offering choices such as: Safe Mode, last known good Windows, normal windows, etc. None of the choices do something else that restart the boot process.
I have backups of the C: drive in real Image files and ntbackup. I would like to make a bootable cd or dvd with the files needed to be able to copy the data on another dvd or on the local network to another computer. This computer was made by the gateway. No real installation CD were provided, just a "operating system Disk' which is of no use. The disk has been partitioned as C: D: K: etc. I added a 40 GB IDE drive, which is where half the data is I want back. I can 'see' readers when I boot from an old CD disk to Image, but may not see the LAN or write in the CD burner. Basically, should what files I put on a cd to boot?

Well, almost a month since the gateway computer's dead, and I do not have anything on it. Spent a lot more time for the new computer with Windows 7 to run my most used programs: WordPerfect and Lotus 1-2-3. According to me, that you gave me a choice when I reinstalled Windows 7 to use either 64 or 32-bit. If I had a choice, it is 64. At this point, I wish I had chosen 32, due to all the incompatibilities resulting in 64. I doubt that there are real benefits for me. One thing they point out is his ability to deal with > 4 GB of RAM. This computer has 2.

What I installed was XP HP discs received with a laptop period of 2002. Probably violates some policy Windows, but my rationalization was that bridge should have on giving me the opportunity to re - install the Windows XP Media Center edition. I prefer to get this OS works because it has a smooth operation built in encryption system.
I tried to use the provided gateway recovery cd again, but not long after starting it fails with a 'memory overflow, please insert another disk' message. Gateway support has not been cooperative, so I can try again. I think that they have it for me.

The XP system is running on a 40 GB IDE drive that I had added to the computer. There are too many error messages trying to install an operating system on theoriginal 250 GB SATA drive. Usually the installation of software did not see the SATA drive. He is currently disconnected. It work pretty well in the new computer from HP in the 2nd SATA slot for to retrieve me my data.

I have a client who has a Dell Dimension E510 with Microsoft Windows Media Center Edition 2005.  Failure of their hard drive, so I installed a new hard drive and reloaded Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 collection of Technet.  I'm now start using the Microsoft key update tool to update the product key in the product key of the client on the system chassis.  Unfortunately the Microsoft key update tool is not supported in this version of Windows XP.  The client doesn't have their media.  Any help would be appreciated.
