EA3500 NP

I've been using WRT54G (bought in the United States) for a while in the United States and India now.  As he began to slow down (meaning borrowed is cut, power often etc..) I thought that need to update that I use: iPod, iPad, computer desktop, Dell Vostro, Nokia all with Wi - Fi access.  I got an EA3500 EP of the use and tried to connect to Chennai, India.   When I inserted the CD, it does not go beyond what it doesn't accept intel PROSET which works well with WRT54G.

So I connected EA3500 and a WRT54G connected connector.  I see 2 strips for EA (in ipad, ipod) and my WRT54 continues to work for Dell Vostro.

1. that I don't see any tab of Windows network (requires CD in a few seconds), I continue to use WRT54G with non-existing windows network driver.

2. the other gadgets (ipod and ipad) work well without doubt using EA and needed no overall upward.

How is it my start of Dell Vostro using EA so that I can remove WRT54G still hanging around?

I can see 2 strips of EA in my Dell with intel proset, but cannot put in place (as it asks for a password)...

It is Windows XP SP3.  I solved the problem, finally after talking to Linksys Rep in India.

If you do not have windows networking driver or there are damaged or you did call to Intel PROSET (or third party) for any router, just relax.  It's just a simple problem

Connect EP3500 using the IP address and change it to personal WEP (not WEP personal 2).  The same IntelPROSET will now connect the router and show bands.  Just ignore the CD that you got with EP3500

I now look forward to configure using the Seagate 1 TB hard drive (there is a slot for this).

I'm still exploring this more...

I have an older machine from Dell running an Apache Server on my LAN. I have my workstation for laptop Asus on this same local intranet, (test / development / etc).

  • Please help: Add a USB printer to EA3500?

    Hello world

I just bought the EA3500, all right, but I can't set up / add my USB printer to my network card into the USB port on the router.

The EA3500 is on the firmware: 1.1.38.138880

I connect to my router via connectcloud, when I click on 'Add a USB printer' I was sent to a page where it tell me to install Cisco VUSB, I download the VUSB thing, installed, the Cisco VUSB also saw my printer connected, but that's all, I can't print or do anything else further

I use Mountain Lion, I really appriciate if someone can help me understand this, thanks in advance

Confirm that 10.8.2beta has fixed cisco VUSB, I can now connect my printer to my EA3500 for printing

  • EA3500 responsible N750 of ceiling in my internet speed?

I use the EA 3500 router through which my main computer is connected (wired) - wifi being disabled on this router (I have another access point elsewhere in the House).

My ISP (cable) just upgraded me from 20 Mbit/s download / 10 Mbps upload at 30 Mbps / 10 Mbps last week.  However, my speed test keep (from this computer plugged direct into the EA3500) saying that I'm still 20/10...

We have reset the cable modem ISP (ISP-driven), tried many other sites, nothing helps.

Their technology has suggested it * could * be the router Linksys that would "put something" (unintentionally) to put a ceiling of 20 Mbps, since their modem indicate it is programmed for 30.  Now, I'm looking in the web interface of the router and do, indeed, the appearing speed test it displays a scale which stops at 20 Mbps...

Is it really the case with this router? Or is there a setting somewhere in the router settings I need to change to allow for more high speed internet?...

I would like to dismiss this troubleshooting step and move on...

    Thank you

Hi, lanstrad. Are you referring to the prioritization of the media? If so, you can do one of 3 options. One, set the downstream and upstream to 0 bandwidth. Second option would be to re-establish the order of precedence. Turn off Finally, prioritization of the media. That should give you at least 30 Mbps or more. I hope this works. Keep us informed. • EA3500 EA4500 PPPOE issue resolved

    The question:

Usable size MTU packets drop when it is connected to an ADSL Modem in bridge with EA series router connected via PPPOE mode.

    How to identify the issue:

The router will connect using PPPOE and displays the IP address normally in State. If you are a standard ping www.yahoo.com , it works fine. When you open www.yahoo.com into your browser, it fails. Load the ping www.yahoo.com with packet MTU sizes over 100 fail.

What are the causes of the problem:

The current firmware using linux pppd daemon and rp - pppoe.so PPPOE connection library. The version used is ppp - 2.4.4 according to me. Is this version or the Linksys patch files that are at the origin of the problem.

My tests showed that when the ADSL Modem ethernet port had a different MTU 1500 load pings started to drop quickly and the site navigation Web does not. If the ADSL Modem ethernet port had a MTU of 1500 the problem does not occur.

    The Solution I used:

Searching the Web I found how to get root SSH access to the router (not really a security risk). I also found the build tools CodeSourcery used to create the firmware.

With the help of these tools I compiled a version different ppp - 2.4.5 of the library of demon and rp - pppoe.so of pppd. So I swapped the old version to the new version and commented a line off /etc/init.d/serivce_wan/ppp_helpers.sh

After that, the routers worked perfectly.

    Footnotes:

I love first of all these routers. They are really great, but this a defect has been a real problem for me and almost prevented me from using Linksys in the future.

Now that I have a due diligence on its firmware I love him even more.

Also parental control on the classic firmware is the best I've come across. Does the router indespenible for me and why I when through all the work to find a solution.

Remember, that assumes that you are running the classic firmware on your EA3500\EA4500. I don't know if it works with Cloud firmware for these routers.

  • ea3500 - usb drive, ftp works, share windows on another address?

    Hello

I have my ea3500 in mode bridged behind my modem, which seems to work well.
I have fixed the IP 192.168.1.20 (modem dhcp range begins to 192.168.1.64), where I can access the drive via ftp.

I can't access the drive as a windows share, I think that the problem lies in the fact that the server address IP LAN (storage) and/or the ip address of shared disk (definition folder under drive) is set to 10.82.111.83.

I tried to change that in different ways (no direct way to do it), but I lose my network if I start to change to bridge mode.

How can I access the disk as a windows share?

When you set up your EA3500 to bridge mode, you can not set to "obtain an IP address automatically" because there is a bug.

You must specify an address. mask subnet, default gateway, and DNS. Look at these instructions to bridge mode, and then try again. Then EA3500 to factory default reset and try again, but do not use "obtain an ip address automatically".

  • Cannot access EA3500

I will summarize my previous post of excessive length on this topic: I am talking to someone through the connection to a telephone ea3500 admin page. 2 computers using separate windows 8, either wired or wireless, the router accepts a local login password and then hangs on a wait state and never used the home page. Used IE and Chrome with cleared caches. I am not motivated to restore the default values. Does anyone have any ideas or problems connecting to help to win 8?

People, thanks to everyone for the input.  I gave up and restored the default router remotely and he's back running.  I don't know why the router was denied access to the admin, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it won't happen again, but for now, things return to operational.  Connect FYI on the default: the router does not require a user name when you connect locally, only a password, the default value is "admin".  After cutting, you can log off and then log on to the account of cloud and associate the router with the account by entering the router password when prompted.

  • New N600 adapter unable to connect to EA3500 wireless smart router

I replaced a wireless adapter G from Linksys with a Wireless-N N600 USB adapter on my desktop PC. The new N600 adapter installs OK, the computer can see the EA3500 network router, but the two cannot connect.

    What's wrong?

    What should I do?

Help! I need to use this machine soon.

None allowing to uninstall the adapter.

It's been long since I worked with xp. You should do a Google search for "manage windows xp wireless connections."

If I recall it right click on the card and select Properties. There should be a Wireless tab that lists the connections.

  • Why some devices (like the PS3) connects through the 5 Ghz band? (EA3500)

Just installed a Linksys N750 (EA3500) router (WAN - LAN Configuration).

I have set the two broadband networks: 2.4 Ghz and 5 GHz with different SSID and different WAP/WAP2 staff mixt.

While some devices display correctly the two networks, I am facing problems with the 5 GHz band and wonder if it's the breath of some sort of failure:

-My iPad offered the two signals and allow me to define the 5 Ghz band, but it is showing the weak signals and stall when loading Web pages; as soon as I put it instead on the 2.4 Ghz band, (standing at the same place, of course), what's up, excellent signal.

-J' have a Mac Mini and the location of the PS3 side by side.  The Mac Mini seems to work perfectly in both bands, 2.4 or 5 - excellent signal. However, the PS3 has failed his test of connection and indicates that the signal is not noticeable on the 5 GHz. But connect as a wink on the 2.4 Ghz band.

-Got on and off voltage signal of 5 GHz on a laptop; connected to 2.4 Ghz, everything works perfectly.

-iPhone 4s: I can't even see the SSID of 5 GHz, but I get the 2.4 so Guess account...

So I'm tempted to conclude that some devices can not just keep up (?) to connect on 5 GHz...  But... a PS3? ... Huumm... (but true: PS3 came out in 2006...)

    No logic to this?

    Thank you

    Rob

There are devices just wireless which are not turned on or is not compatible to work with a network of Ghz band. The WiFi feature may not be up-to-date or limited to only work with a network of 2.4 Ghz. In your case, you might want to check with Sony so PS3 can be updated to work with a network of 5 GHz.

  • WRV200 and EA3500 - WAN address becomes computer address

My old WRV200 is set to 192.168.0.1.  The WAN connection is from 1 km through a wireless bridge.  But to connect with the bridge radio, I must plug the WAN line into one of the rounter LAN ports.  I am connected to the wireless router and have an ip of 192.168.0.x computer.  But after about 30 minutes, I stop being able to communicate with radios of the gateway or router and found out I have an address similar to the WAN (66.116.60.x) address.  I thought I had a goofy router, so I replaced it with an EA3500.  After 30 minutes, it's the same thing with the new router (bridge radios are of 12-year-old Tranzeo.  The one that is directly connected to the Linksys is a TR-6015).  It's as if the router has suddenly become a switch instead, transmit the wireless signal.  Does anyone know if there is a way to stop it, other than to go to the other end of the bridge and by unplugging the signal WAN?

    Hi boondocksil,

What you can do is to connect your computer directly to your router using an ethernet cable and check the IP address. Disable the wireless network adapter and check what IP address. Isolate, please use another computer. If it's still Public you may need to reset your router and reconfigure. This will all be restore to the factory settings.

  • Router EA3500 'limited' at startup

I just replaced a WRT610N that had worked perfectly until this that subscribed by a power surge.

The EA3500 I got seems to work fine, with one exception.

Whenever I start my laptop, wireless, EA3500 network happens as "restricted" with no internet connection. I then have to connect to a different network, then reconnect to the original network. After I do this, the original, by default, the network is fully functional with internet connectivity and I am able to use the laptop on the internet without any problem.

No idea why this happens and how I can fix?

Make sure that network card drivers are up to date on the laptop.

Temporarily turn off security on WiFi and see if LT. connects with number. And then reactivated.

    Do an ipconfig/release

    ipconfig /DNSFlush.

    ipconfig / renew

  • Should firmware upgrade on EA3500 - I do it?

After the bad experience with CCC I downgraded firmware on EA3500 and noticed that it is seems to be older then it used to be when the router came to me:

    Firmware version: 1.0.30.126544

I wrote a function of automatic update and when hiting to check updates, it says that it is up-to-date. Is it? If not, should I do the update? Please notify.

It is the latest firmware, no Cisco Cloud, according to the Web site. No need to update.

  • Recognition of devices with the new firmware on EA3500

Under devices, I find that my laptop Apple (WIFI connection) and our Dell Desktop (LAN) connection are considered to be the same device.  The operating system shows the EA3500 of this device is the system connections apple IOS and address numbers displayed in this device.  It is therefore impossible to set parental control separately on each computer.  What could I do to get the EA3500 to recognize these separate devices?  I tried to force Apple WIFI network address to another address.  All that happened was the address of device updated on the list of EA3500 devices, but LAN and WIFI addresses remain together in the same device name and MAC OS on the list of devices.

I have the latest firmware downloaded on my EA3500.  It wasn't a question previously when I ran the old firmware.

Here is one that I see in the list display the LAN address for the address of Dell and WIFI for Apple on the same devices screen.  When I turn off a device, the respective entry goes.  Only when both computers are turned off reflects the unique device entry on the EA3500 offline.

    Details of the device:

    Name: Macbook Pro laptop

    Manufacturer: Apple

    Model: MacBook

    OPERATING SYSTEM: OS X

    IP (LAN)-1: 10.0.121.119

MAC address: XX (does not list address voluntarily)

    -2 (wireless) IP address: 10.0.121.109

MAC address: XX (does not list address voluntarily)

I couldn't get the a screenshot as assignment would fail.

This is a bug that comes and goes. Personally, I didn't for a while. But it's still there (even with the latest firmware)... If you catch this bug, it is usually difficult to shake because it can resurface. It affects too EA4500.

There is no real rhyme or reason why it appears.

  • EA3500 Classic Speed Test

I did a simple speed test comparing my EA3500 and Linksys WRT54GL. I used the DSL reports for the test. I was very shocked and wonder if the difference is due to the poor driver wireless in the classic firmware that has been updated in the firmware of the cloud. Here are my numbers:

    EA3500, classic firmware download average 475 KB/s Upload average 725 kb/s

    Linksys WRT54GL Ver 1.1 (latest firmware) download average 3250 kb/s Upload 725 kb/s

Needless to say that I went back to my trusty WRT54GL until Cisco decides if it will be updated the firmware of Classic and give us 2nd customers Cisco class have the same customers Cloud of material the 1st class. Time will tell.

You never said your wireless settings.  In the router, make sure that you use WPA2-AES encryption, disable WMM, set to a fixed channel as 1,6,11.  Try now.

  • Unable to get EA3500 routers to connect to internet.

I'm going through a pair of WRT54G routers to a new pair of routers EA3500, but I can't get the modems to connect to the internet.  I tried new modems and several cable connections between the router and the cable modem Charter, but I still have to get a usable internet connection.  I am able to get the settings of the router by going to 192.168.1.1, but parameters show that there is no internet connection.  My old work still routers big if I pass the modem cable to them, so it's not likely the connection or cable modem.  Any suggestions on what could go wrong?

Try turning off the modem cable for about 30 seconds before plugging in the router.  He can still think its connected to the old mac address
