EA4500 problem?

I just got an EA4500 and I really like it. I got set up with my printer, tested a few things and everything works perfectly fine. The problem I have now is that when I plug in the USB flash drive I don't know how to access. For some reason when I go into the settings under storage USB he says «There is no drive in the USB Port» He tells me to click Refresh, but this doesn't seem to help. Anyone know what I'm missing here? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I use the version of the firmware 2.1.39.145204

Test if the USB is detected when plugged into your computer. Try disconnecting and then re - connect the router. You can consult this list, too, just in case: tested HDD and printers for the EA4500.

    Hi guys,.

I use the EA4500 for almost a month now and I'm loving. Fast & stable, but I noticed a problem. My Macbook Pro does not connect via 802.11n but rather that it uses the 802. 11A.

    screencapture:

I tried troubleshooting by using my other router Linksys WRTt310n and I noticed that my MBP is conencting for 802.11n.  So, basically, it is not a problem APPLE or MBP.

Is there any setting that I need to check?

    Thank you much in advance.

Make sure that WMM is enabled in the router QoS tab.

  • EA4500: DHCP reservations problems after FW v2.1.41 (Build 162351)

    Hi people...

I liked the new FW 2.1.41 (Build 162351), BUT I'm having
    a big problem: DHCP reservations.

With the FW 2.1.41 (Build 162351), reserves of DHCP
does not work. I have set up the set, but after I click in a request,
EA4500 change everything, put a few crazy IPs to my devices.
    remove certain devices etc.

    SOLVED!

I support FW v2.0.37 and I noticed that there is no subnet mask 255.255.254.0 in options...

Then, I put the new FW (2.1.41) and choose the 255.255.255.0 subnet...

When I tried to make the DHCP reservations I don't have problems...

    In short:

If I use the FW 2.1.39, I can use the subnet mask 255.255.254.0 and the

    DHCP reservations works...

If I use the FW 2.1.41, just with the subnet mask 255.255.255.0 or

255.255.255.128 or 255.255.255.192 which DHCP reservations works.

In my view, that it is a firmware issue

    Now I'm happy.

    Thanks for all!

  • Linksys N900 EA4500 speed problem

    Hi guys,.

I recently updated my ISP one up to 55 Mbps service (new modem - cisco DPC3008). I did some speed tests and what goes directly from modem pc my reaced 57.27 speed down and 10.72 upward.

When you browse the EA4500 router I can get 10.50 down and 3.73 upward. I read through a few recent discussions to go to the router configuration and

-Prioritation media-settings-the downstream bandwidth is fixed at 10945 kbit/s.

I tried to change to 55000 since I'm now up to 55 Mbps. In addition to the support WMM is defined on IT. I checked to see if the router is in need of an update of the firmware and the unit shows the firmware is uo to date. As soon as I leave the screen and return only the bandwidth is changed to 10945.

Does anyone have an idea on how to get the router to Max which will result in the modem?

    Thank you. Bruno

    Thanks to FurryNutz. Problem solved

  • Sharing USB storage device problems: EA4500

Share questions, I just run my USB connected hard drive via UPNP, SMB and FTP.  Neither option seems to work, except for FTP when I allow anonymous access.

I can't access my files via FTP using OS X Lion mountain.  I have FTP access and use the administrator account to access the location.  When I turn on the media server, none of my DLNA/UPNP devices are able to connect to or even discover the EA4500.  Don't know what is happening here.  This is a brand new EA4500.  Devices on my home network can see the multimedia servers set up with serviio running on a PC with no problems.

In addition, access SMB does not work either.  I am unable to connect to my Mac via SMB sharing.  Haven't tried with a PC.

I'll try to update to the latest firmware.

Personally, I didn't have much luck finding classic firmware sharing stuff immediately.  I have advanced and set up all the stuff of sharing on the firmware of cloud.  2.0.37 classic firmware works, it takes just a while to understand.  The cloud is much easier.

Here's a good page where you can update to the classic firmware newer or firmware of clouds.  It is under the downloads tab.

    http://homesupport.Cisco.com/en-us/support/routers/EA4500

Edit: I think that you can update the firmware automatically from the router.  You don't need to do it manually.

  • New firmware, new problems with EA4500

I logged this morning to a new firmware on my EA4500. I have disabled the automatic upgrades when I got the device because at the time of the hidden networks was not supported by the firmware of the Wi - Fi chip. Needless to say I was shocked when I logged in this morning. I have no idea how the new firmware had updates since I was the only one on our staff with the password on this device.

However, I went in the new admin panel MAC filtering section and tried to add a new device to our list. I get "Unexpected error" 2177 when you try to save the updated list.

    Show details: / jnap, macfilter, SetMACFilterSettings - status: 200 OK Date: Tuesday, August 7, 2012 06:01:59 GMT Server: lighttpd/1.4.34 connection: close Content-Length: 42 Content-Type: application/json; charset = utf-8

I can't go past this screen to save the MAC address on the list of filters. Any ideas? Current firmware is 2.1.41.162351

Try the Revert to previous FW?

Safely update FW, I recommend doing the following:
1 save the router config to the file first using IE or FF with all modules disabled security.
2 factory reset the router with all devices disconnected or turned off accept for 1 Wired PC.
3 reload or update the FW using IE or FF. Just download the FW file to your wired local LAN PC.
4 factory reset the router and then set up from zero all first and test with loading saved configuration from the file. Check if problems are solved before loading the saved configuration file.

  • EA4500: There is a problem with this Web site's secure certificate.

When I navigate to the Web page of the router, I get a message that "there is a problem with this Web site's secure certificate."

    I'm using https.

Does this mean that https does not work on the EA4500?

N °, this means that the browser does not trust the certificate sent by the router. The connection is always encrypted.

  • EA4500 firmware upgrade failure and subsequent problems

I had a few problems of intermittent connection with my ea4500 so I decided to upgrade the firmware for the Smart Wifi. I lost my connection to about 90% and could not get the router to connect with my ISP since then.  I am able to bypass it and go straight from the modem to the desktop, but I now have several errors trying to use the router. I tried to hook it up several times but no luck so far.  The errors are:

Your computer failed to renew its address from the network (from the DHCP server) for the network card with network address 001BFC522BCC.  The following error occurred:

The operation was cancelled by the user. Your computer will continue to try and obtain an address on its own from the server network address (DHCP).

  • EA4500 - a wireless device of many with internet connectivity problem

    Hello

I wonder if anyone can comment on a subject that I have with a (a) wireless on my home network devices.  The problem is that a Dell laptop knows slow or no internet connectivity using wireless at all.  Sometimes 1-2 minutes to load one page, other times the message 'not able to display the Web page' dreaded.  That's using Ethernet.  I have another laptop (brand/model exact even) and it has no problem.  I also have a Macbook Pro and other IOS from Apple (iPod/iPad) devices which are very good.  Several connected Ethernet devices are very good as well.  The laptop in question had no problem with my previoius Linksys devices, which are a BEFSR41/WAP55AG and a WRT-54GS v2.  This laptop was the first day or two on the EA4500, but something happened that causes this problem.  I had to add the WAP55AG on my network so my son is happy again, but my plan was to dismantle the other devices.  Suggestions regarding what I can do to fix this are greatly appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hello

Thanks for the suggestion.  I tired who, but it did not work.  I then called Dell and they found that the wireless adapter on battery power has been set to maximum power saving.  Changed for maximum Performance and it's been very well.  Fortunately there is nothing wrong with the router.  Thanks again for the suggestion.

  • Problems of EA4500 of 5 GHz...

I used to have the router working properly for a while.  It is used to display the band 2.4 ghz and the 5 ghz band using the same SSID.  Always shown available and I got devices connected to both bands without problem.

Now, all of a sudden, wifi seems to leave all together.  It would not show band or if it did it would show only the 2.4 ghz band, but wouldn't let me connect to it.  Now, the only way it will work is if I turn off the 5 ghz band.

I tried to reset to the default settings of the interface of the software (linksyssmartwifi.com) nothing works.  I tried to choose to put just one channel (tried a few different channels) instead of auto, did not work.  I tried to change the band 5 ghz to another SSID and password, also did not work.

    Any thoughts, tips, advice, suggestions?

Not a big fan of same ssid for two different bands. Personally I always tell them apart by adding a_5 in the 5 GHz band. password can be the same property. Have you tried to use an application such as Analyzer wifi on a smart phone to see if they emit, but maybe there is someone else on the same channel as well? How did you do the reset? Try holding in the button reset (not the one blue) until lights turn off then release. It will start and the password will return to being "admin" is the work of wired ok?

  • EA4500 wireless connection problems

I have several devices connected to my EA4500 (two wired computers, two laptops without wireless, iPhone, iPad and a network drive).

I was not able to connect to all new wireless devices.  New portable computers laptops, PS3, friends.  Error message suggests that the password is entered incorrectly, but I change the word very basic (stupid proof) password but no luck.  Please notify.

Ends upwards to reset the router and now all is good.  Odd.

    Thanks for the support.

  • Problem with connecting to the usb storage to the EA4500 via ftp from the internet

I have trouble to configure my EA 4500 as an FTP server.

I followed all the instructions according to the manual, but cannot access the USB I connected tot the EA4500 of the internet.

When I try to connect my own network, everything works fine.

The configuration I have at home is as follows:

Cable modem ISP--> EA4500--> all computers.

As said, I use the EA 4500 as an FTP server.

If I install an FTP server on one of the computers on my home network and transfer the correct port on the EA4500 for this PC everything works fine and I have access to the internet. Unfortunately, it won't work when using the USB plugged into the EA4500...

    Any help would be great!

    TIA!

When you go to the EA4500 configuration page, have you enabled the FTP server function?

When I set mine up, I have was go the section when you set up the USB (shares, etc.) and turned on FTP.

In the security of the router Security tab, I uncheck the 'Block anonymous Internet requests.

I do know for sure that you have to uncheck this box, but I always turned off this box, just out of habit when setting up a llinksys router.

In any case, this is what I did and it worked fine.

The only other thing I can think is... Your modem is perhaps a nat router. And you have the EA4500 operating on a different subnet. And your modem may possibly be block it.

What is the brand and model of your modem.

  • Cisco EA4500 - No associated router problem :-(

I just install my new EA4500 of Cisco and upgraded to the latest firmware and signed for my account.

Local access to the router works fine and I see the admin/config interface Smart Wi - Fi

However, when I try to go to the following website: http://www.linksyssmartwifi.com/

    It redirects me to here:

    https://www.ciscoconnectcloud.com/UI/1.0.0.146985/dynamic/no-associated-router.html

    The text says:

    -------------

To access the tools of Wi - Fi Smart Linksys, router requires the http://homesupport.cisco.com/en-us/support/ccc"> EA series Linksys Smart Wi - Fi Firmware and you will need to associate your router to your account Linksys Smart Wi - Fi."
On a computer or a device connected to your router, open www.linksyssmartwifi.com and follow the instructions. This requires you to enter the router password so have that ready.

    -------------

However, I see no way to perform the step of the association - my account exists and my router is configured.

Note: I do all this behind this wi - fi network router remotely

Any help appreciated - bad first experience

    Thanks in advance

    -A-

Follow the steps on how to associate the router properly with the account you signed-up for already. Note: you may need to reset your router, if this doesn't always work for you. Creation, activation and associate a Smart WiFi Linksys account.

  • Add WAP300N to EA4500?

I have an EA4500 which are currently operating here at home and you want to add a WAP300N (connected via electrician to one of the EA4500 Ethernet ports) to improve the coverage and 'assign' family members connect wirelessly to one or other of the devices.

    My questions are:

    (1) the WAP300N may grant a different SSID as the EA4500? (Of course, I want to do what I can tell people that you connect to);

    (2) If Yes to the #1 wireless channels should be different between the two? (The EA4500 himself has currently located on Channel 6, which is clear, but if I have to put in place a different channel on each end I am concerned about interference with neighbors who have the AP on the weekends).

I tried to do this year returns with some devices WRT-series G and I remember well the system having heartburn by keeping the AP contacted the main router and also some problems with the SSID assignments. Before I try again, wanted to get some opinions as to if it will work more easily with the new Linksys gear.

Thanks a lot for the tips!

Yes and I would recommend the AP SSID using different channels.

  • Network Magic and Cisco router EA4500 UID and password

I use the 5.5.9150.0 version of the free product. I had my last router, with a WRT400N. Since then, I have installed an EA4500 router to replace the WRT400N. I'm glad that Network Magic works with my new router, but I have a problem: I can't connect to my router via Netowrk Magic.

Protection status/Wireless / Wireless Protection settings brings up a window that asks you the router user name and the password. I went to the page "Setting Up: Basics" guide of the user EA4500 (page 13) and tried all the values that I had copied in when I installed the router.

I tried the SSID of the router and the "Linksys Smart Wi - Fi Username ' in the user ID box.

I tried the "Linksys Smart WIFI password", the network, the Guest network password password and the router password (same as the network password).

Nothing has worked. I've only connected to the EA4500 using the Linksys Smart WiFi, username and password, so I'm stuck trying to figure what values to use.

Please help me understand what I am doing wrong. Thank you!

    I stumbled in the response:

    1. start Network Magic and display the network map.

    2. click on the name of the router (just under the router icon).

    3. click on Set Up or manage the device.

    4. the Linksys WiFi Smart Sign In (to the router) window appears.

5 connect to the router by using the credentials of Smart Wi - Fi that you set up when you have installed the router.

Now, all router commands will work from within Network Magic.

    :+)
