EA4500 smartwifi: the router's external ip address

Hi I have an EA4500 with interface smart wi - fi.

I need the ip address provided to my router by my internet provider so I can remote desktop into my home computer using port forwarding.

I could not find the IP address of my router.

Under connectivity, the internal ip address is listed, but not the external ip address.

Can someone point me in the direction of the rite.

Thank you

Vik

@vikramjit.gill Hi! Instead of going to the connectivity, select troubleshooting, and then click Diagnostics. You will see your Internet IP address on this page. This is the IP address of your ISP. I hope this will help you!

  • VPN Site-to-Site - cannot ping the router's internal IP address

    Hi guys,.

    I configured a VPN site-to site between two routers, everything works well except ping the internal (LAN) IP of a router.

    Everything works fine: ping the hosts through the tunnel in both feel.

    Routers that I use:

    -IOS 1841: M3 15.0 (1)

    -2811 IOS: 15.0 (1) M5-> here is the problem. I can't ping the inside interface of the router.

    I checked its ipsec counters and it seems that it does not send packets through the tunnel when I ping from the LAN interface.

    #pkts program is not incrementing.

    Anyone had this problem before?

    Thank you very much.

    Best regards

    I think that happens because when the router responds to icmp request he gets is outside interface IP (not the IP Address of the inside interface, wich you are trying to ping) as the source of a package. If icmp-response does not go in the tunnel, because the IP address in the router's external interface is not included in the crypto-acl.

    Solution to this, if it's correct guess, is to add the router's external IP to the crypto-acl.

  • your ip address of the router and the printer's address must be the same, so it can print from the computer

    IM setting upward a new router and wants to find the printer but the printer and the router are different VPI address Will this work

    Are they similar addresses, for example 192.168.1.1 for the router and 192.168.1.37 for the printer, it should work file.  If they are more than just a bit different - say for example instead of 192.168.1.37 the printer address is 192.168.0.100 or 169.54.45.21 - then is not likely.  In most home networks, the first three bytes of the IP address must be the same with the fourth byte is different for each computer or device connected to the network.

  • When you set the IP address of the router, WRT160N Inaccessible

    Hello

    I bought a WRT160N router yesterday and eagerly tried to connect my laptop to the internet (ADSL) modem using this router. As my ADSL modem is a router DHCP too, and I want to keep it like that, I have it plugged in ethernet cable form one of my ADSL modem/router, LAN ports in one of the LAN ports on the modem, Linksys have the Linksys operating as a bridge. However when I tried to specify an address of router static IP (192.168.1.254) in the basic parameters of configuration Linksys Panel, disabled the DHCP setting and saved, I could not connect to the router more using this new IP address - my browser tells me that the Web page doesn't seem to exist, but it cannot establish a connection with her. Then I have to reset the router in order to access configuration panels using the default address 192.168.1.1. Is there a reason why I cannot access the control panels of the router with the new IP address of the router that I've specified?

    Thanks for any help,

    Hello

    the problem is resolved, be it in a different way. I tried your trick to wait 30 seconds after the registration and the recycling of the modem, but this had no effect. What helped does not change the settings for address IP Routerl and the setting from the DHCP server on the router for the disabled at the same time. If I only changed the setting to the IP address of the router and recorded, the modem has been reset automatically and starts with the new correct router address. After that I changed the setting of DHCP server to the WRTN160 to off and then I was able to get the router working, like I wanted.

    I assume that when you connect the router to a computer reset (after taking out the IP address of the computer) with DHCP from the active router, the router assigns an IP address to the computer that somehow interferes with the local IP address parameter, if you define that at the same time.

    In any case, all work now, and I have excellent signal everywhere in the House. I guess that congratulations go to me :-) but still thanks to eliminate one possible cause of the problem

    Kind regards

  • WRT160N v2 site blocking to the router even after reset and upgrade firmware

    For some reason any my WRT160N v2 router blocks access to the following Web site: www.cngoons.com

    I can connect on the site if I connect to the modem directly, or using the connection to the internet of someone else. However computers that connect through the router is unable to access the site via a web browser (IE, FF or Chrome), cannot ping the site, and a tracert also fails.

    I have reset the router by default, but the site is still blocked. I've upgraded to the latest firmware (WRT160Nv2_v2.0.03.009_US_code.bin) and the problem persists.

    Any ideas on what's going on?

    And after a search even more, I found this old thread dealing with the same question:

    http://homecommunity.Cisco.com/T5/wireless-routers/Linksys-router-blocked-website/TD-p/12917

    A solution is given at the end to change the MAC address of the router (I cloned MAC address of my PC), and then restart the cable modem. It worked for me!

  • ea4500 unable to connect to the router smartwifi

    Since yesterday my linksys smartwifi account says that it cannot connect to my ea4500.

    I pedaled power the router itself and it is not fixed.

    The router has access to the internet. I can also access the router locally using 192.168.1.1

    Is there a setting somewhere in the router UI that will allow me to sign out and back in on the account of smartwifi?

    Linksys system has been up and dow lately so it's most likely the problem. Sometimes its down for days at a time. Very unreliable. Give him one day and see if it comes back. Can the mods can follow it and put it on a sticky?

  • Retrieve the external IP address of the router from a paralytic

    Hello

    I'm working on a workflow, that the provisions, a complete paralytic, I have nearly all that work, the only issue I am running into is not able to shoot/get the external IP address of the router once that vApp is put into service. Does anyone know which API can I gives the floor to get that information? I have attached a screenshot of the NAT tab in the firewall of vApp to give more details on the specific element, I'm trying to recover. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    J

    Here's an excerpt from one of my workflows in test I use to inspect a vApp on vCloud Director with vCO 5.5 5.5:

    System.log("=== Network Configurations ===");
    var networkConfigurations = vApp.getVappNetworkConfigurations();
    for each (cfg in networkConfigurations){
        System.log("href: "+cfg.href);
        System.log("Description: "+cfg.description);
        System.log("isDeployed: "+cfg.isDeployed);
        var netConfig = cfg.configuration;
        System.log("ipScope: "+netConfig.ipScope);
        var routerInfo = netConfig.routerInfo;
        if (routerInfo != null){
            System.log("External IP: "+routerInfo.externalIp);
        }
    }

    I would like to know if this is useful, I just double it checked by running against one of my vApps has a similar configuration (NAT and Port Forwarding) and it displays the correct external IP address for me.

  • PAP2T loses the connection when the external ip address changes

    I have a PAP2T adapter connected behind a Netgear DG834GT router.  Usually, I have no problem, however, my ISP has been known to change the dynamic IP address from time to time.  In this case the adapter will stay online until the reg expires during which he is not able to save the time and I get the error "unable to connect to the server.  Therefore, the only way I can get the adapter to work again is to restart the router, then restart the adapter.  If I reboot the adapter only it will not connect.

    I have the router providing a fixed ip address via DHCP. I have active STUN and the I the active NAT and NAT keepalive mapping.  The "reg expires" is set to 60.  When the adapter is connected correctly, it shows the external IP correctly.  However, it will not update after the external ip address change until I have restart the router and adapter.  I thought to get a static IP address, but try to avoid paying for it. Is this a common problem?

    I'm rather new to VOIP and I hope I have given you enough information.  Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Kirk

    I finally got to work.  It turns out that I had to do an update of the firmware on the router and then place the card in the demilitarized zone.

  • Remote Desktop for the external IP address is no longer works

    Hello and thanks for your help.

    For months I could access my desktop from my laptop (via Remote Desktop) / Tablet (via PocketCloud), both inside and outside my network.

    Recently, the external IP address for my router has changed. As this happened, I was not able to access my desktop to the outside.

    Other possible factors:

    -A had a problem of invalid system disk on my desktop which has been resolved by changing the boot order.

    -J' I registered a domain name, which I redirected to the old IP address. I have since updated the domain to redirect to the new IP address.

    I tried the IP address and the URL (using my domain name) to try and MOP with no luck.

    Any suggestions?

  • Internal untrusted clients directed to the external IP address for traffic PCoIP

    I have a network segment disable my firewall for some untrusted clients. When untrusted clients connect to view (5.3), they use a DNS name that resolves to a DMZ (view Security Server) host. That's where I think the problem is: it seems that security server responds with its external IP address, and then all the PCoIP traffic is routed to my router (where the external IP address can be found), then back into view and the customer. Traffic of SSL connection works fine, the traffic remains inside and does not get directed to the external IP address. It is only the PCoIP traffic that gets invited to use the external IP address.

    It seems that DNS is not enough - Security Server seems to respond and connect using only the external IP address configured in the external URL field PCoIP - is this correct? If so, then to do a substitution for the external URL so that internal untrusted traffic doesn't get routed the external IP address - this creates a lot of unnecessary traffic, mess with QoS, etc..

    Another idea would be to allow untrusted clients to connect directly to a login server instead of sending them on the Security Server, but I don't think that it is a best practice...?

    Mike

    As Linjo says the simplest solution is to set up a server for additional security to point these clients (no need of another server connection, you can pair it with the existing one). Today, you are required to provide an IP address for PSG, so if you need to send it to another, you will need a second server.

    Of course, if they are completely not reliable customers, then you can force through the external access point still but looks like you need avoid the cost of additional traffic from this approach.

  • Y at - it no vCloud API Java, who can give me the pool of the external IP address list for a particular network of org. ?

    Hello

    I've implemented vCloud Director on my network, when I create an organization network that is NAT-Routed I give him a pool of external IP addresses.

    My Question is that when an organization network is deleted what is happening with this pool of IP, how can retrieve us these IP address.

    Y at - it no vCloud API Java, who can give me the pool of the external IP address list for a particular network of org. ?

    Kind regards

    SachinJ

    Check the examples 6-10 and 6-11 in the vCloud API Programming Guide ("' an Administrative organization network overview").

    Although the 6-11 is abbreviated, 6-10 seems to suggest that the AllocatedIpAddresses element may contain what you are looking for.

    I don't know how the Java SDK surfaces this information.

  • What does this mean and how to fix: the router address you entered is not compatible with your WAN IP address.

    I connect to an access provider via Airport Extreme, which is extended through two Airport Express.  When I try to edit anything in one of these devices, even a name, I get this message: "you have entered the address of the router is not compatible with your WAN IP address.  My connection seems to work, but there is clearly something wrong with her.  The Express has no DNS and will not update without the same message.  I have no idea what this is all about and will greatly appreciate the ideas.

    This means that WAN Setup does not or does not install across the network.

    The best way to solve this problem is beginning on...

    Reset all three at the factory and reconfigure each in turn. Do the extreme first and make sure it works... Then add the express.

    If you need help with that we will need to know which modem or modem router to your ISP gave you and possibly the type of services to wide band... and who is the provider.

    Give us screenshots of each installer as you do.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8610: Try to install the full software concludes printer, but the IP address is the address of the router, not the printer

    I tried several times to remove printer, uninstall the drivers, reboot, reset the printer to the factory, etc. without success.  I even went into the registry and deleted the printer reference as much as I could.

    Please note I know how to connect the wireless printer and did successfully to the router with IP 192.168.1.108.   The problem is that the installer will search for a printer on the network and detects the 8610, but it appears with the IP address 192.168.1.1, which, of course, fails to install correctly.

    How can I get the dialog box to see the printer with the CORRECT IP ADDRESS?

    Well, I gave up trying to connect wireless and connected the printer with an ethernet cable.    Re-installed software that went much smoother, but still showed printer with IP router when you try to add it.   I chose "other devices" and is manually entered IP ethernet.

    Everything works now, including scanning.

    I think that the new router (for satellite internet) blocking a port that is required to complete the driver installation.   I had to add a switch to have an additional ethernet port to connect the printer.

    It was NOT a good experience.   I had a lot of practice of deleting, downloading, installation, configuration of the HP printer again and again well, therefore perhaps not all a lost cause.

  • Equium A200: Unable to connect to the Wlan - no IP address of the router

    Dear readers

    I have a laptop Equium A200 Toshiba.
    I TI a year, a little more of it and it did work under Vista perfectly, no problem.

    First of a sudded 4 weeks ago my wife told me that she can no longer connect to the internet.
    I thought that it was something less serious, until I couldn't solve the problem.

    The laptop is not receiving an IP address wireless or cable modem.
    I type cmd and I get an IP starting with 169 in wireless and wireed cases.
    I also tried to reset the NETWORK card, but it does not work.

    It's frustrating seriously because we don't change anything on the other machine, then let updates automatically, this is obviously some update that triggered connect to stop the local distribution of load and internet access now it shows only local access.

    Appreciate any help out there on root causes.
    So far not much dad worked. R/Paulcou

    Hello

    In your case, I would first check the settings of the router.
    I put t know what settings of your router is compatible, but you should go thought the simple options (such as when the first router configuration) and should check if everything is set correctly.

    In addition, you should check the settings of WLan connection. In the properties of WLan connection, you would find the TCP/IP protocol. Check the properties of the TCP/IP Protocol and set all parameters (IP address, getaway, etc.) to get automatically.

    If all of these settings are set correctly, then start the console (CMD) and use the command:
    ipconfig / renew

    This should refresh the IP address and in most cases, it helps.

    Last but not least, you should check if you can update the WLan driver!

    Maybe someone knows how to solve this problem?

    Hello

    In my opinion your problem isn't related to the Toshiba product. Of course you use the Toshiba HDD external HARD drive seems to work fine in the computer but from my point of few, the question could be linked to this problem of compatibility between the router and the drive HARD or maybe you forgot certain essential options of router.

    Have you read the manual of the router tp-link? Have you followed exactly the configuration procedure?

    The tp-link router isn't I known but I guess that there must be an option (shared storage, etc.) which must be activated and configured.
