EA6400

When I try and set up the third and fourth bytes of the start for my selection DHCP server IP address is rejected, why?

You mean the lan IP address of your router?

The router IP address and the subnet mask dictate the IPv4 network.

Ex:

1)

IP: 192.168.1.1

SN: 255.255.255.0

Beach DHCP IP 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.254

2)

IP: 192.168.1.1

SN: 255.255.0.0

Beach DHCP IP 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.254.254

Hi nikki2819. I suggest that you configure EA6400 as a secondary router via a LAN - WAN connection with your WRT54GP2. In this way, the EA6400 router can function as a router for full commitment and can have its own network, while the other router can focus on the VOIP line.

  • Help upgrading from EA6200 to EA6400

    Hello

I'm upgrading to a Linksys EA6200 to an EA6400, is there a way to save all the settings of the EA6200 and the restoration of the EA6400? I want to keep my MAC filtering and all my settings of the EA6200. Don't know if is still possible but had to ask.

    Thank you

Hi jlruiz2k. It is not recommended to do given that two routers have different firmware so different compatilbility with parameters. What you can do, it's just copy all of your settings tab and even entry once you're on the same tab in the new configuration of the router page.

  • EA6400: No detected USB storage

    Hello

    I have an EA6400

At the back, I connected a Portable USB 3.0 hard drive (StoreJet 25M 3)

The router does not detect this drive also does not after using the Refresh button.

    Someone knows a solution?

(When directly connetced on the desktop I can do everything with this disc: reading, writing, etc.)

I don't know what happens, but today, I was free and I work with the system and surprising: the USB storage device is detected and logged.

    It's working now.

  • EA6400 poor performance of 2.4 ghz

    Hi guys

I just bought this linksys EA6400 (ac1600) the router and im having a lot of trouble with her

im getting the power of the signal very poor and poor networkspeed on speedtest.net because of this

Ive got 100/10 cable, but wireless 2.4 ghz (ive not yet 5 GHz of adapters) im only get 10mbits on speedtest and sometimes worst way only 5mbits and its only 4 meters (13 feet) away (2/5 bars signal strength on my devices)

im getting the same or better performance with my old router e1000

    what I tried:

-The routers to the latest version firmware update

-updated drivers on PCs and laptops in my area

-tried other channels 2,4 ghz with no luck at all im getting worse performance on 1.6 and 11 if I leave it in the car, it is the best

-ive tried to disable the transfer of cutting hollow

-adjust the width of the channel to only 20 mhz

    -n only wireless network mode

    -factory reset

    -priority implementation of media

all this he has not improved

    My settings for the moment:

-all on the car to 2.4 ghz page

    -no priority media

-rest of my settings are auto adjustment

What should I do? return the router for an asus router or something?

    any help would be appreciated

5 GHz is no choice because my pc, the laptop and the phone does not support the 2.4 ghz I will modernize the PC and laptop adapters CA / CC 5 GHz

my phone should be ok, but I think my older e1000 router was acually better at 2.4 ghz

    Thank you very much

What Protocol (b/g/n) wireless devices are connecting to the EA6400 with?

In the connection status of the client devices window, which is listed as the connection speed (54 Mbps, 150mbps, etc.)?

The link below has some good information about the wireless channel width:

FAQ of SmallNetBuilder Wireless: the essential

This article does not take into account changes to the rule of co-existence 20 Mhz Wireless. Essentially if a 20 Mhz signal is detected by the router in the range of 2.4 Ghz router is to drop her at 20 Mhz channel width, which will reduce speeds in two.

The best solution is to upgrade the client machines to 5 GHz.

    Other things to try:

    1. Support WMM Enable\Disable (I recommend it be enabled if no improvement is noticed with this option disabled)
    2. Activate Media prioritization with a parameter to 100000 Kbps downstream bandwidth and keep all devices\apps to normal priority to start
    3. Only use WPA2 Personal wireless security
    4. Set the Protocol Wireless 2.4 Ghz "N only.
  • EA6400 latency/connectivity problems

I have an EA6400 connected to a Netgear modem 6200 that services a DSL 6 Mbps plan of the ATT network. ATT is good. When I am plugged directly into the modem connectivity is solid with very low ping. BUT when you go through the router (wired/wireless) somehow there are spikes huge ping and intermittent connectivity.

I noticed that the IP address of the EA6400 is a 10.x, while the ip address of the modem is an address 192.168.x. I tried to make them the same, but it just resets and the router has assigned a new address 10.x. The latency was fine for a minute, but now it's back to massive spikes and inconsistent connectivity.

Someone has an idea what is the problem?

If the ISP's modem has a built-in router, it is best to fill the modem. Having 2 routers on the same line can cause connection problems: link >http://www.practicallynetworked.com/networking/fixing_double_nat.htm and http://computer.howstuffworks.com/nat.htm if the modem cannot be filled then see if the modem has a DMZ option and enter the IP address of the router gets the modem and put it in the DMZ modems. Ask your service provider if the modem can be filled.

I received the EA6400 from a non-techie friend who simply said this worked once and no longer works.

I got the camera and factory using the 30-30-30 reset. The device appears to come. Large. It is not connected to anything except the power.

    • I'm looking for the wifi network as described on the bottom of the router; except this wifi network is not created. I have try it with 3 devices, including a smarphone, none can see this wifi network.

The green light on the front of the router repeats this model:

    • Fixed green
    • Slow flashing Delierbate
    • Fixed green
    • Slow flashing Delierbate

I left it overnight, the same trend in the morning.

I'm at the end of my rope of troubleshooting. What are my next steps?

    Thank you

try resetting it again by simply pressing the button reset (not the one blue) until the beginning of lites blinking then turn off the power for a few seconds then reapply. Make sure that the power supply is the right one for this router. the voltage must match exactly, but the nominal current of the power supply can be more than what is on the sticker on the router. then try to reconnect with an ethernet. the password should at this time there began to 'admin' (without the quotes)

  • Linksys EA6400 speed problems

    Hello

My ISP is Virgin Media, and the line speed is 30 meg using their "Superhub".

When I put the superhub in modem mode and connect my EA6400, the line speed drops to 8 meg. have tested all the cables and all tested OK. these speeds are the same, if I'm wired or wireless

    Any help would be appreciated

Try changing the EA6400 MTU to 1492.

If this does not work, try 1442.

You can also search Google to find out what is the best MTU, when you put great hub modem mode.

You can also search google or the forum to find out how to determine the right size MTU.

  • Linksys EA6400 slow speeds

    Hello

I have a Linksys EA6400, and lately I've been making autour 13Mbps via my router speeds. Just as I was going to guess it was my ISP and to call them, I decided to connect my pc directly to the modem. When I connect directly to my modem I got speeds around 65Mbps.

Having found that the ISP was not at fault, I press reset on the back of the router, re-tested the speed and got nothing else. So I power cycling it, same speed. Today, I was going to be gone all day so I unplugged the router to see if a long shutdown would help, but after 12 hours to be disconnected, still nothing. Until 2 weeks ago, he works very well with no hicups.

Can anyone offer any help to solve this problem? New firmware? I can't find a link to the firmware update anywhere in the configuration of the router to try it...

Thank you to anyone who is able to offer their help.

    The firmware update:

    http://downloads.Linksys.com/downloads/firmware/FW_EA6400_1.1.40.160989_prod.img

Reset to factory settings after the firmware upgrade.

    If no improvement:

    Try:

    • Connectivity-online Administration-Online cutting in the middle of transmission => uncheck
    • If IPv6 is not required by your ISP; => Connectivity-online Internet-online-online Edit IPv6 settings uncheck enable
    • Prioritization of media => Enable-Online Check
    • Prioritization of media-online settings and apply just downstream and if available upstream values; Initially to keep all devices and applications priority normal
    • If you have problems with throughput in Wifi try support WMM disabled; If no difference is noticed reactivate WMM

  • EA6400 Problem FTP USB Storage

When I do not restrict access to the files I can reach them by FTP

When I restrict access I can't reach them more

After usin my login, I got this screen

As seen: the Transcend is not visible.

Yes, I have the right to see and write about the USB storage.

    Anyone a suggestion?

Use username: admin and password: the router password (default admin). Do not use your Linksys WiFi Smart password.

Are you able to access the drive locally using the user Remi? The fact that you have checked the part of Transcend when you created the user Remi?

Try the suggestion of Chadster by creating a new user, and then clear the browser. Or you can try using a different computer.

  • Ea6400: virtual network

Once more a question and then I think my router is perfect

I have some IP cameras on my WiFi network.

When I want to see them out I had to do a virtual network on my old router.

When I go to Conectifity > Advanced routing

I see that NAT and RIP

Static routing is not the same as in the old router.

But how I do on this one?

    Thanks for the thought.

Hi taxikemperman. I agree with what proposes FurryNutz. You need to forward ports to access the cameras remotely. You can also register for any server domain so that you can easily access the camera outside your network. I would also say that you set a static IP address on each of the wireless camera, so you can correctly determine which cameras, you are trying to access.

Hi nesxam. When you say that the router is plugged directly into the wall, this means that the connection of wall will have the modem. To clarify things, who is your ISP? What is an optical connection, cable, DSL or fiber? Moreover, what application you tried to open ports for? It works when the PC is plugged directly into the wall? Try to do this and see how it goes.

    A wiki article:
In embedded systems, a board support package (BSP) is implementation of the code of (software) specific support for a given (device motherboard) meets a given OS map. It is usually built with a bootloader that contains the minimal device support to load the operating system and device drivers for all devices on the map.

Some providers also offer a root file system, a chain of tools to make programs to run on the on-board system (which would be part of the architecture support package) and configurators for devices (running).
