EA6900

Try to find the best Repeater / booster for the dualband wireless router EA6900. My only connection of cable is on the first floor and a wireless reception is spotty on the third floor. I want to put a Repeater or a reminder on the floor to improve reception 3. would like to know what brand / model would be the best to work with my existing router.

Thank you.

Wow. Thank you! Not quite sure what this means but I'll Google the product you mentioned and try to learn. Thank you very much!

When I put in the 10.x.x.x the router gives me an error.

In your case, it would be better to change the mode EA6900 Internet settings and connect the Internet Port to the LAN of the Modem port.

  • EA6900 - crashes every 2 days

I have a wireless router of EA6900 working in Bridge mode as a simple wifi point to access my network. The problem is that the device gets hanged every 2 days (no wireless or cable, manual access don't restart help).

Anyone have an idea how I can fix this problem? Or I should send it to the point of service?

What version of firmware is? It should be on the previous 1.1.42.161129 version versions had problems with crashes and disconnects

  • EA6900 - sky, on-demand and other connection issues...

    Hi all

Newby to post on this forum has my camera for a few weeks now to replace an older WRT54G.

I'll try and be as descriptive as possible and give you all the info I have and all that I tried in the hope that someone can point me in the right direction - live chat could not help!

UK - user using VirginMedia fiber for wide band. I have their super hub 2 - but configured in modem mode, preferring my router. Which, as mentioned is new EA6900 to replace the old WRT54G who had got a bit tempremental. The model has no version only. so I assumed that ver 1.0, but it has the power switch. Firmware is the 863 it auto updated version. I disabled this now but alas too late that I read and I can't not the old version of 524 of support (see my other post).

I have some questions other wireless an occasional reboot which I think could be fixed by downgrading of firmware if I could do it with!

My question comes with a wired connection (via a switch and ethernet adapter power - but have eliminated these and will expand again) to use SKY service on request. It still worked before changing the router. After changing the router on SKY request I get a message saying ok broadband connection - I get an IP address valid to my assigned range, but it fails to connect to the service on request. I had control of the SKY and they insist, it is not a question to an end and sent signals etc. I have the same problem in three Sky boxes that used to work.

I also saw this same problem/error with my PS3 which is no longer connects to the internet using a wired connection, it also crashes my switch - but was "bypassed" up to wireless, but even that had to be configured manually and don't work with the settings auto detected.

I wondered if the use of adapters EOP was causing the problem or my switch that hangs off the coast of one of them, and is connected to that of sky boxes was the cause of error. To prove this, I got a long ethernet cable and plugged directly from the router to the switch - eliminate the EOP adapters but no change. I repeated the process but hard directly router cable to Sky box, but once again the same fault through the service on.

I should mention that I have Apple TV not connecting the same switch (like the PS3 and sky) and it works fine no errors!

I did believe all the stuff of sky - planners reconstruction, latest version of the software etc. but now it takes a config or setting I missed on the router which is the stop of service request to work properly, or a problem with the router itself.

Sorry for the post of time-consuming but I wanted to capture and explain as much as possible. I'm technical with IT resonably as I work in the industry, but the network is not my area of expertise.

Any help that can be offered is received gratefully :-)

    All,

I just wanted to post an update...

I finally found a resolution everthing has been resolved by adding parameters of OPENDNS server address to the list of router DNS servers. I have never needed these before always use those provided by my ISP, but I found the answer in a dark NetFlix forum - I don't yet use this service, but it seemed similar and solved the problem.

I update incase it helps anyone else.

  • new EA6900 disconnect

Recently, I connected and set up my E6900.

This morning I started internet twice.   When I checkted the status page EA6900 he says no internet...

I checked my cable modem status page and all levels seem to...    The next time that happens I'll plug in a laptop to the cable modem and see if it is the internet.

I solved the problem by resetting the cable modem, but not the EA6900.

So, there seems to be a problem with the modem...  I was coming back from an ASUS 68P thinking it was the router, but now I think not.   My original E2500 seeemd ok because he has not done this, but my child said he did the other day.

Question;     The cable modem signal levels are good and I have no packet loss, lights seem to be well.   Never suspected the cable modem.

Is it possible that the 2.4 more recent strong and 5 G of signal are microwave with the signal from the cable?    I moved more cable modem in the shelf and placed the router away from him more.

    Thank you.

I would like to mark this issue is resolved.   It turned out to be my cable modem service.   They came out and cleaned the signal at the pole goes to my house.   New connectors etc.      It was interesting that I couldn't see the problem from the cable modem or router.

  • EA6900 home network IP and DHCP question

I have a T1 (I live in a remote area).  The T1 is delivered in an extension of ZPhone T1 network that is connected to a netopia router. The router is connected to my switch and all other network connections come from the switch. I replaced a previous router linksys with an EA6900 wireless.  I unplugged the old, dead, plugged in the new in the same port of the switch.

Everything went well and I can connect, but the EA6900 starts on a different network address 10.x.x.x

The netopia is located in NAT to 192.168.1.x de.100 a.199.  I put the EA6900 start at 200 and serve up to 254.  When I apply this, I get a message that the router is up-to-date, then I lose connectivity and when it reconnects, it serves up a 10.x.x.x. yet once.

Any ideas how to get it on the 192.168.1.x network?

    Thanks in advance.

    Ken

If you want to use the 6900 as a past or wired AP, you can turn off the DHCP server on the router, assign a static IP address to the IP address of router 6900, something like 192.168.1.50, clear all the other features on the 6900 as firewall, QoS features and what is not necessary accept for the wireless and use the 6900 wired AP. This will put the 6900 devices and any connection to it, to use the routers main host IP address pool and be on the net of sub 192.168. If you do this, connect the cable from the router main host to one of the LAN ports behind the 6900, do not use the WAN or yellow marked internet port. It is not used in this configuration.

  • Router Linksys EA6900 does not

My Linksys EA6900 router does not allow me to connect on any device. I tried to reset and restore but the router will not reset. It is the first version of the material.

Hi lockwoodg. When you say reset, did you press the red on the back of the router reset button? I suggest to try to remake a reset by pressing the button of reset for 30 seconds while the power is on.  Release the button and unplug the unit.  Power on and connect a computer to one of the ethernet ports. Try to access page to the 192.168.1.1 and do a restore or do the reinstall of the parameters manually.

    Hope that helps.

  • Blues Ea6900 password

I have a Linksys EA6900 wireless router, and I love it. However, once I put in place, I lost the paper I had written the password, and the only journal I have now has the original password and I can't even read my own writing for the router password! I try to get it reconfigured so I can write new info of password on the side of the fridge for friends, etc.

Sorry, if you have changed the admin password and he forgot, then you will have to do a reset factory and configuring it from scratch. Press and hold the reset button in while a few seconds until the lights go out and it starts up. Remove the power for about 10 seconds and then turn it back on. At this point, the admins password will be "admin" without the quotes.

  • Router EA6900 IP comes back to original

I have an EA6900 which is IP address changes every few weeks back to the orginal 10.x.x.x network.  The initial installation, it was reconfigured to a192.168.x.x and we have a several devices with static IP for when he comes back, these devices become inaccessible.  Someone had this problem? I fight the powah or simply configure my static devices in the 10.x.x.x?

If the router changes its range of IP and DHCP default 192.168.1.x to 10.x.x.x address, this is due to an IP address conflict detected on the network from somewhere (self Heal)

    Usual causes are:

    1. NAT behind a NAT, the ISP Modem is to give the router WAN one IP address in the 192.168.x.x range
    2. Another device on the network has the same IP address as the router
    3. Another DHCP server is handing out IP addresses in the same IP range as the router.
  • slow ea6900 wireless

my computer is directly connected to my speed internet ea6900 and get 76 Mbps. In the same room my ipad will display 7-15 Mbps via WiFi. I know that you will have a degradation of the signal, but I think it's too. any help is appreciated

What version of the iPad? What a bunch - 2, 4 GHz or 5 GHz? If you are 2.4 GHz, have you tried other channels (chosen among the channels 1, 6 or 11)? Have you tried 5 GHz with a 40 MHz near the router channel? To what extent are you far from the router? If you are 10 ft, line of site to the router and have one of the most recent iPads, you should do better. Disable Media prioritization if it is activated and make sure that WMM is enabled.

I have an EA6900 with a 1 Gbps connection to the bottom of my ISP. I get + 400 Mbps down for my laptop with an 802.11ac client on 5 GHz with a channel of 80 MHz, 2 flow map Wi - Fi and 10 minutes from the router. I get 175 Mbps down on my iPhone 6 on 5 GHz, 80 MHz, channel, 10 minutes from the router. On the other hand, on 2.4 GHz with a 20 MHz channel width, I get 30 to 40 Mbps on my iPad 3 when is 10 minutes from the router.

  • How can I activate remote admin on my ea6900

There is no option for it where I expect it in connectivity > administration

Just bought this thing and updated the firmware of the box is on 1.1.42.161129

No need to activate the remote on the EA6900 Administration. Like all other routers Linksys AC, the EA6900 has a Linksys Wifi Smart embedded software on its firmware that allows you to access the router admin page and manage your network remotely by using the account Linksys Wifi Smart.

  • UPnP EA6900 problem

Has brought an EA6900 a few days ago and set up correctly. The wire that is connected to 1 PC and 1 PS3.
But the problem is, even I enabled Upnp in EA6900, opened the ports of PS3, assigned a static IP address to the PS3.

implementation of DMZ and entry info IP manually into the PS3, he always says 'not available' Upnp.

More information, my home network is DHCP, using cable CAT7 for PS3 and PC and router.

Is this something that I am missing?

For some reason any EA6900 jams feature upnp after an hour or two. Deactivation and reactivation upnp he brings back to life. Might be a bug with the latest firmware.

  • What is the maximum bit rate under 5 GHz N-mode for EA6900?

I just bought an EA6900 and been happy with it so far. As we know, its wireless connection rate is the 600Mbps under 2.4 GHz mode N or 1300Mbps AC 5 GHz mode. My question is, what is "up to" N-mode speed to 5 GHz? What also 600Mbps? I couldn't find the answer after hours of searching on Google. I am not able to reach the ceiling with my devices, but I would like to know more details about my equipment. Thank you.

The devices can reach up to 450 Mbps regardless of network Mode. But standard-wise, 802.11n clients normally has a live speed of 54 Mbps to 300 Mbps w / maximum distance of 300 m or 1000 ft. For reference, you can check this link.

  • Port forwarding does not work on EA6900

Please help me to know what is the reason for this port forwarding does not work on my Linksys router:

    Model: EA6900 v1.1
    Firmware version: 1.1.42.161129

I've set up two ports: TCP 22 and 8070 TCP to 192.168.1.10. (192.168.1.10 is up and running, I can reach the LAN ports).

Yesterday, I had a live chat with Linksys support we tried to re - download the firmware even, but that did not help. Then factory reset and reconfigure the router did not help either.

Unchecking "Filter anonymous Internet requests" and disable uPNP didn't help either (they have been suggested in similar topics).

However, the IP displayed tab troubleshooting/Diagnostics reflect my external IP address (the IP displayed by http://whatismyip.com), which is weird, because I never have IP from my ISP from 100, that is displayed on the Diagnostics tab. So I guess it's a fake display or it relates to access to my router via www.linksyssamrtwifi.com ?

Anyway I tried the two IPs from the outside, but the transfer simply doesn't work. (It works fine when I use my old router TP-Link).

    Please advise!

Sorry guys, it seems indeed a double NAT problem. My ISP can detected MAC address change when I started using EA6900 (thinking that I couldn't not need public IP?) and since then he sends me IPs for NAT - ed. It is strange that the same day, he was working with my old router, but now it is even not working with my old router and not even working when I connect directly to my windows PC to my ISP (via PPPoE). I called their support line and they said that they will solve this problem within 72 hours. In any case, thanks for your help!

  • EA6900 hardware version 1.1... that appears on the box retail?

I am considering buying the router Linksys AC1900 EA6900...

I read that more recent 'Hardware' (1.1?) an updated Version is available. I have of course choosing to buy.

The consumer can observe any indication displayed on the retail box as the new version of material in indoors?

    (UPC, S/N, etc.).

I also read that the 1.1 version number appears ONLY on the base of the unit.

    Is this correct?

    ... Thank you

I agree with celine. I bought a Linksys US store EA6900, and it's a version 1.1 with a power switch. Later, I bought three EA6900 from the Linksys store to install refurb for family and friends, and two of them were version 1.1 with a switch and one is a 1.0 version w/o a power switch. BTW, I had no problem with the refurb, and the price is right at $100.
