  I'm upgrading ebs R12.1.3 database 11.2.0.4 11.2.0.3 on Sun (sparc) OS. The source DB contains the DST patch 14, do I have to apply the latest patch for the DST as part of the upgrade or I'm good with it?

  Hi all

  EBS 11i (11.5.10.2)

  9i DB

  RHEL 4.6

  Fact: The 9iR2 database is certified Linux 3 and 4.

  
  

  Assuming that I migrate or upgrade 9iR2 to 11 GR 2, where install the GR 2 11? This is on linux 4 (current server) or Linux 6 or higher (different server).

  Why not the Server Windows 2008 or 2012 instead of Windows 7?

  It is a server and this means you better install a server operating system.

  One reason that you want to upgrade to 10.2.0.4?

  You can switch to 10.2.0.5 by mentioning:

• Server Linux for EBS 11i upgrade

  Our EBS 11i is running on server HP with OS 4.6 RHEL and a single node only. This server was purchased 6 years ago and lately it is show the performance degradation. We want to migrate/upgrade to a model like high-end HP and make a knot of multiples. But the latest HP model doesn't support a minimum version of RHEL 5.
  My question is, is the support for EBS cloning 11i RHEL 4.6 to RHEL 5? How can I migrate EBS 11i with this kind of scenario?

• The EBS R12 upgrade and solaris to linux in a one-way migration?

  Hi all, first post on this forum so bear with me.
  
  I plan on spending 11.5.10.2 Solaris (sparc) 64-bit EBS EBS R12 on RHEL 5 x 86-64 a and would like to know if I can make in a shot that is the migration and upgrade in one step or I need to go to R12 first and then migrate first and then upgrade or migrate.
  
  I understand the stages of migration and upgrade, but have not seen any documentation to support on the combination of them, someone does that?

  You can upgrade the application in the Solaris to R12 box then migrate the R12 to Linux application (since your target OS is 64-bit Linux, please note that you can not migrate the 11i application as 64-bit operating system is accredited as a layer of database for the Oracle 11i applications only).

  Applying the RUP is easier than to do an upgrade.

  Oracle EBS 12.1.3 will be supported for a few years (Dec 2016 for assistance first and December 2019 for the support extended).

  If you wish to enjoy some of the new features in 12.2 then you can do the upgrade.

  Hi gurus,

  We are in the process of upgrading our EBS Oracle 10g database to 12 c and so below are the steps we took to upgrade the database with dbua 12 c

  We have improved our database 10g of 10.2.0.4 to 10.2.0.5 compatible for the direct 12 c with dbua upgrade

  1 - install the Oracle 12 c software

  2. run the file from Oracle EBS environment that set the ORACLE_HOME and ORACLE_SID, but not ORACLE_BASE for the database that is upgraded

  3 - Go to the ORACLE_HOME\bin 12 c and run. / dbua

  4 - 12 c dbua GUI appeared, but this isn't picking the 10g database in the Source ORACLE_HOME

  What could be the cause and how is - this solve

  I checked the vairable TNS_ADMIN component apps and found port 1522 in the tnsnames.ora file, while the real port of the database listener's 1521 and the database is already in place.

  Any ideas?

  Looks like you started the earpiece of the database with the default values

  What is the result of

  grep dbport $CONTEXT_FILE

  lsnrctl status

  can you connect to the database in this way

  Apps/Apps@hostname:1521/

  You can change involves database to run on the port of 1522 or change to 1522 tnsnames file. To generate tnsentries to port, you must change the port value in the context file

• Upgrade of database EBS - patch 17501296

  Hi all

  I am upgrading a database of the EBS R12 of 11.1.0.7 to 11.2.0.4 as per notes 1058763.1 .

  While applying patch 17501296 , we have to run the postinstall.sql. Do we need to apply it to the database running the old house?

  You must run this script (and all other scripts to fix post) after upgrading 11.2.0.4 database are completed

  I'm upgrading our database of 11.1 to 11.2.0.4 EBS Note 1058763.1 said the examples of oracle database installation is required. The database examples guide also gives this link: Oracle database software download | Oracle Technology Network | Oracle

  But the link does not 11.2.0.4 software file linux 86_64.

  Am I missing something here...?

  The part of the database is included in the files 1 & 2.

  The examples CD is in file 6.
