Edge 2 - driver problems / random black screen

I have a relatively new Lenovo Edge 2 a few months old.

Problem I have currently: screen goes black randomly, but the light is always on, no mouse pointer, sound turns off too (similar to the hibernation perhaps?).

I get a message at the beginning to the top there is a problem with one of the pilots. But when I check the drivers, everything seems to be up to date (its set to automatically in any case).

I had a similar problem before, another message from pilot. The problem was that my laptop don't would not connect to wifi at less than the power mode has been totally exacerbated. Something about the laptop thinking its low in battery mode and the abandonment of wifi connection, I connected via electrician and updated the driver wifi I think and the problem solved. What is a similar problem? There seems to be a problem with this laptop and the sleep mode / low status for the battery maybe mode driver. How can I remedy this?

In response to the reports of customer displays or screens turning off on Lenovo while in use systems and works on battery, Lenovo released a solution via the Intel Management Engine Firmware update, v.11.0.0.1176.

The Intel Firmware has been approved for the following models:

  • IdeaPad 300 s-14ISK, 500-14ISK ideapad

  • Lenovo Edge-2-1580

  • Lenovo, Flex 3-1480, Flex 3-1580,

  • 500-14ISK, 500-15ISK Yoga Yoga

Firmware Intel ME can be downloaded here: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds105001

If the solution provided by Lenovo does not resolve the problem for you, other customers report that a workaround solution provided by the MattDN93 client also solves the problem. More information on workaround can be found here: https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-IdeaPad-100-305-500-Edge/Flex-3-screen-turns-off-when-working-on...

Hello! I have a serious problem with my L220x new and this forum is kind of my last idea to look for a solution. Maybe someone can help...

Apparently randomly, I meet the following (from the office, the video games, full screen)...

    1 several times per day

-l' screen goes black for about 1 second

    -the Office returns

-the mouse pointer has made a leap toward the center of the screen

-the processor load is 100% for a few more seconds

-Repeat a random number of times (~ 10), then everything continues to be calm

    2. on every two days

-(1) which happens, but ends with

-l' black rotating screen for about 3 seconds

    -windows playing material 'disconnected' sound

-and then the sound "connected equipment".

-If I have my TV attached, the display with 1024 x 768 and display my TV as primary (!)

-If I have the TV that disconnected, the screen comes back as usual

    3. once in the last week

    -(1) happened

    -l' black screen turned

-windows has played the sound "hardware disconnected."

-l' screen remained black. I was able to stop with soft-off windows, after reboot, everything was normal.

I have already tried a bunch of things, tinkered around card drivers and graphic screen, and finally, reinstalled windows (for several other reasons, too), but the problem persisted. Does anyone have an idea?

    My system:

    Thanks for all your suggestions,

  • Unusual problem: partially black screen on the bottom right

    Hi all

I would like to know what I can do to address these problems:

I only had my Clip 4 GB zip drive for a month, and today I noticed after that him have plugged for charging for more than a day lower the right hand screen is black. The rest of the screen is fine, it's just this little corner of the screen that is like that! Partially black screen is triangular and always there.

Another problem I've noticed is that I had it charging for more than a day, I expect to be fully recharged at the time where I unplugged, yet when I watched the news system, he indicated that power was '88% '. And then, when I was checked to make sure it read "77%", then again in '88% ' after I checked it once more. WTH is happening? Why the change?

Oh, and I think that the firmware is up to date (not sure if this is relevant) because they say "Version: V01.01.20F" in the settings.

In addition, there is a third question, I believe. I tried to reset by pressing the button of power for 20-30 seconds, but for some reason any, my drive is as insensitive to this, he starts just straight up / stops due to the initial pressure - i.e. function Reset does not work.

Others that the three above, I have not noticed other unusual symptoms. I would be extremely grateful if anyone could give me any advice to solve this problem.

Edit - I just noticed that when the drive is connected, he said 100% fully charged, but as soon as I unplug the 88% said

    Thank you.

I would not be concerned about battery level indicator, as the Zip Clip is infamous for having been innacurate that.  Apparently better, if you want to know the exact charge: go to system info. screen (under system settings) and check the percentage of battery charge it.

Troubesome more is the screen problem.  If I were you, I would try to manually reapply the latest firmware (see firmware upgrade thread sticky at the top of the forum).  If that doesn't resolve the issues, I would contact the seller and/or the SanDisk for a defective/warranty drive replacement.

  • Windows 7 starts problems with black screen and the cursor because of power failure

I'm on a Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium OS. Start-up problems arose after the power failure (accidentally unplugged the charger, the battery was not in place) during a video call in Skype. Accessories attached to the laptop at the time were a Logitech Webcam, a dongle Bluetooth, microphone and headphones.

When starting my laptop Asus N81VP, he'll go as far as the 'Starting Windows' logo, then I meet a black screen with a mobile cursor. I don't then right click, CTRL + ALT + DELETE.

    I tried the things:

Start Up Repair = "cannot automatically repair."

System Restore = no available restore points

Windows Memory Diagnostic = at 100%, no screen of detected problems, then black with mobile cursor

Networking Mode Safe Mode/Safe = black screen with cursor mobile

Activate video low resolution (640 x 480) = black screen with cursor mobile

Good known Configuration = black screen with cursor mobile list

Start Windows normally = black screen with cursor mobile

Please help me. I've had this laptop for less than a year, and it would break my heart to have to re - format.

You seem to have exhausted most of the options available in such cases, except two:
D ' log in under a different account.
-To restore your registry files manually. See below for more details.

On your heart that could get broken: have you considered using the imaging facility that is integrated with Windows 7? You can find it in the control panel / backup and restore. This is somewhat marginal in the feature and it can be finicky, but it saved my butt several times.

You can restore your registry files manually to a previous point through the steps described below. The process is complex and requires some careful typing. Ask a computer-savvy friend to help you if you lack experience in this field. Note that it may reset your password to a previous value.
    1. keep tapping F8 during the first phase of startup.
    2. Select repair in the menu that looks like this:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/advanced-startup-options-including-safe-mode
3 log in as administrator if you are prompted.
    4. Select repair when prompted.
    5. Select the command line in the menu that looks like this:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/what-are-the-system-recovery-options-in-Windows-7
    6. identify the correct drive letter for your Windows installation. It could be one drive other than c, but it will not X:. You do this by typing commands
    DIR C:\Win*
    Dir D:\Win*
    dir E:\Win*
until you find the Windows folder.
    I'll call this "Q:" drive
    7 type these commands:
    CD /d Q:\windows\System32\config
    xcopy *. * Q:\MyRegBack\
    CD RegBack
    dir
    8. review the dates of the software, system, and SAM files. The files created before or after that is your problem?
    9. If they were made before the problem appeared, you can then type these commands:
    copy software / y...
    /y copy system...
    /y copy Sam...
(the two points are part of each order)
    10. restart normally. If things don't work then you can go back by copying files from the original register of Q:\MyRegBack to Q:\Windows\System32\config.

The problem is that my laptop screen goes black when I watch videos online (YouTube videos), but the laptop seems to be on (the WIFI and the Bluetooth lights next to the power button do not turn off). I restart my computer (hold the power button to turn off).

Same problem when I play HD MP4 video on windows media player. But WMP reads the other normal videos without any problem.

Problem with Windows media player was there from the date of purchase, I used to see the error message like "display driver stopped responding and successfully recovered" also not black screen at all, for the past 3 weeks I have the problem in the visualization of the YouTube video. Now no error message at all, that I can see a black screen.

I have Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit) and the drivers are up to date.

When I search in the support forum, I have a suggestion, so I removed the battery pack and power cord, then I hold button power for 60 seconds, then I started my laptop. This time, it seemed as resolved, but the problem occurred after 3 days.

Please help me get this problem is resolved.

  • (Redirected) USB Flash Drive Boot (BiOS) - black screen/freeze/without end of loading - need help!

    Hello community Dell:

I have been using your Inspiron desktop for work. Work requires me to a startup USB flash drive every morning to access work files and programs. I just press F12 and select the USB flash drive that brings me then in a workplace Ubuntu after entering my credentials - very easy.

I recently bought the X 51 office because I wanted the game after work and it was intended to replace the Inspiron.

X 51 issues (boot BiOS - secure boot off as with the Inspiron):

UEFI = I get a black screen after the "loading...". ', it freezes the whole system

Legacy = told me to restart the system and drive and the message repeats little matter what you press

I tried USB different slots, ending different to access USB - nothing works!

I tested another theory that would disable the GPU of the X 51, but this proved futile because the problems themselves was replicated. The GPU is the only unique component between two desktop computers. CPU is i3, i5 vs, vs 4g 8g, 1 TB vs. 2 TB, so I do not see these improvements of specification being the culprit. The X 51 has a different unique Alienware BiOS interface.

The X 51 will be returned to Dell unless someone can some up with a solution - I would be eternally grateful, thank you.

When I try to reset it now button / stop for 30 seconds or more, I hear hard drive (or power) sound, but nothing happens.

I have reset hard randomly wihout battery powered, with battery without power and without battery without power. After many attempts it suddenly starts normally and works fine afterwards. It is since the last days of thre appening. whenever I have stop, I have to do

. I am writing from the same laptop. If I stopped it now, it will still take me 30 minutes and many random combinations of hard reset to make it work.

Someone suggested that the power output of the card could be a problem. can we check voltage output without fancy electrical appliance?

Help, please. I can't afford new laptop right now.

    > I have reset hard randomly wihout battery powered, with battery without power and without battery without power. After many attempts it suddenly starts normally and works fine afterwards. It is since the last days of thre appening. whenever I have stop, I have to do

I'm afraid there's something wrong with the motherboard or the part connected to the mobo as RAM modules m.
If you have not checked the RAM modules in the past, I'd recommend this as faulty RAM could affect the functionality of the laptop. In addition the RAM modules are not very expensive, so it s worth to check the following items.

But please don t understand me wrong. I put t say there is a problem with the RAM. I said, this could be the troublemaker. So please don't be disappointed if this workaround solution would not help.

  • Problem of black screen of HP HDX 16 display of 1160-United States

Hi, I have a HP HDX 16 1160-United States and earlier, my screen went suddenly dark but if I put my face very close to the screen, I could see the desktop icons and the Start button. I looked around on the internet for possible reasons that this was happening. One of the solutions was to change the lcd inverter, so I changed it. Once I turned on the laptop with the lcd inverter new, the laptop shows everything well, but after that I turned it works, the screen went black again. I even searched the internet and found another solutuon and who should change the backlight. For me, it made sense to change it because here comes the light, so I changed that too, but unfortunately this does not work either. I didn't know what I should do after that point so I called HP to see if I can give them to fix, but they do have the parts more for my laptop.

Now I'm on request here if someone has this similar problem and if they got the resolute. If you guys can help me out, it would be useful.

    Hey @thundervolt,

The only other option would be to try to replace the screen.

I can't encourage you to replace the motherboard if this does not work because the replacement it requires you to install a new service ID in the BIOS that cannot be done without the exclusive HP software... technically speaking. I have heard and read about some users who were able to do with third-party software, but I would advise against that and the cost of the replacement of the motherboard could be better invested in a new laptop.

Looks like we're at an impasse.

Discovered this cause after several days using the Safe Mode and system restore to get the job of the computer. I couldn't uninstall it so I reinstalled a new version of Security Essentials, and this seems to have cured the problem.

  • After using a third party partition manager program left to extend my Windows 8 partition, the system of Windows 8 start to a black screen and Windows 8 partition of the drive letter has changed

Original title: problems of Windows 8

I have Windows 7 (32 bit) and Windows 8 (64-bit) is installed in a dual boot. I tried to extend the partition of Windows 8 with a third party partition manager. Subsequently, I restarted after having learned so much.

Later, the first thing I saw was that the locked screen image is replaced by a blue color. Photos of the user are also missing. Once connected, it took a long time for windows everything ready, and I'm stuck in a black screen with the mouse pointer.

I entered in Safe Mode and found that the drive for Windows 8 letter has been changed (C: = Windows 7;) D: = recovery partition; E: = Windows 8, new drive letter; F: = Windows 8, old drive letter), I tried to change the drive letter, but it does not work.

Partition of Windows 7 works well (it is what I currently use to put this problem), and I can access the data in the partition of Windows 8. I tried the methods of different repair without result (such as chkdsk and sfc/scannow).

Can someone help me with this please? Any help would be appreciated.

    Hello

I understand that you have a problem of black screen with Windows 8 and the drive letter for the partition of Windows 8 is also changed. This problem is due to the use of the third party partition manager program because it affects the registry files and causes the instability of the system.

Try to run auto repair from the Windows recovery environment and check if that helps.

Method 1: start the recovery environment with installation of Windows 8 media.

It is another way to boot the PC and launch recovery tools when something goes wrong with the operating system.

Please follow the steps below. Insert the DVD to install Windows 8 on DVD-ROM and restart your computer.

    (a) once you start your computer by using the Windows DVD or the system repair disc, a black screen is displayed with the gray text "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD". Press a button on any.

    (b) select the good time and the type of keyboard .

    (c) click on repair your computer in the lower left corner.

    (d) select Troubleshooting to Choose an option screen.

    (e) click on advanced options in Troubleshooting screen.

    (f) click Auto repair of Advanced Options screen.

    (g) following, choose the operating system by clicking on its button.

    (h) Windows 8 will be looking for problems on the hard drives and verify that all required files are intact.

Method 2: Run the restoration of the system of the Advanced Options screen.

System Restore to restore your computer to a previous state, quickly and easily without losing any of your files and personal settings. Sometimes when you install programs or drivers, they can affect some system settings and prevent other programs to function properly. You can use system restore to restore these settings to their previous state

    Follow these steps:

    (a) once you start your computer by using the Windows DVD or the system repair disc, a black screen is displayed with the gray text "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD". Press a button on any.

    (b) select the good time and the type of keyboard .

    (c) click on repair your computer in the lower left corner.

    (d) select Troubleshooting from the Choose an option screen.

    (e) click on advanced options in Troubleshooting screen.

    (f) select System restore.

After the system restore your documents and files will always remain to their previous state.

If you do not install Windows 8 media, I suggest you connect to any other computer and create a floppy disk to install Windows 8. Using this disk, you can run the troubleshooting provided methods.

How to create the installation media for a PC refresh or reset:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/create-reset-refresh-media

You can also try the same steps using the bootable USB key. You must select USB as the first boot to the BIOS device.

Note: Microsoft don't recommend any third-party partition manager program because it corrupts the registry files and cause the instability of the system.

Write to us if you're still having problems. We will help you.

    Kind regards
