    Hello

can I use the eDrive on my ThinkPad X 220? I confirmed she has TPM v1.2, but apparently also UEFI Version 2.3.1 (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh831627.aspx). My reported "Version of UEFI BIOS" is 1.39. These figures are comparable (one is specific to Lenovo, it is not the case, I guess), so that e-drive is not possible on my device? Or how can I find out, what Version of UEFI Lenovo "UEFI BIOS" is from?

And Opal drives work even on the slot mSATA?

    I also found this:

    http://download.Lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/PC/pccbbs/mobiles/win8beta_8det8059.txt

The version number is not even close to 2.x and yet it supports eDrive? Could I upgrade to this version of BIOS and use it? Or 1.39 includes changes of 1.29 has, anyway?

Thank you very much for your help!

    Philipp

Can I use the eDrive on my ThinkPad X 220?

Yes. I use a Crucial SSD SATA MX100 with X 220 hardware encryption 1.29 has and eDrive BIOS is fully supported by Windows 8.1.

    These figures are comparable?

    Laughing out loud

How can I find out, what Version of UEFI Lenovo "UEFI BIOS" is from?

This question was asked several times over the years and so far no one has offered a response.

And Opal drives work even on the slot mSATA?

    I expect so.

The version number is not even close to 2.x and yet it supports eDrive?

Fix. As mentioned in the description of 1.29 a has been for support to the beta program. Features added were to test and not guaranteed to be supported in the BIOS later releases.

Could I upgrade to this version of BIOS and use it?

    Yes, just downgrade to it.

Or 1.39 includes changes of 1.29 has, anyway?

Not according to the changelog, but since you're already on 1.39, try for yourself before the demotion to the 1.29 has. 1.29 A works for me so I have no reason to upgrade.

  • MacBook with TPM

    Hello

I have a MacBook, and I discovered that they don't have any TPMs.
Is there some MacBook with TPM?

    There is my laptop:

    MacBook Pro (17-inch early 2011)

MacBook Pro (retina, 15 inches, end of 2013)

    MacBook Air (13-inch mid-2013)

MacBook Air (13 inches, beginning 2014)

MacBook Pro (retina, 13 inch, mid-2014)

MacBook Pro (retina, 13 inches, early 2015)

MacBook Air (11 inch, early 2015)

MacBook (retina, 12 inch, early 2015)

I watched "OVD" in the dictionary of Apple app and found these possible meanings related to technology (there are quite a few others not related to technology).

    • Technological protection measures
    • Tivoli Provisioning Manager
    • Total productive maintenance
    • Trade promotion management
    • Trusted Platform Module
    • TPG Telecom

As you can imagine, I had a challenge determine which one you're talking about.

  • Jet 7 stuck to clear TPM [Yes] [no]

Successfully done an install of Windows 10, having strange problems and tried a reset of the device. Took awhile to get to 100%, and after it reboots it is stuck to a black screen with text of the blue/white box asking clear the TPM. I can't make a selection by tapping on the Yes or no selections does nothing, Yes is currently highlighted in black.

I tried power + volume up + lower the volume and power it still powers up on top of the same screen.

I let the battery run down, now, but if anyone has a suggestion, I'd be happy. Thank you!

Here is the method that worked for me without adapter OTG.

Unplug the machine and turn it off. When off, press on and hold power, volume +, volume - for about 5 seconds. Who will launch a reload BIOS and when completed the normal reset for windows 10 procedure will continue.

    Good luck!

  • Activate the TPM on Tecra Z40

I have a number of Tecra Z40 I'm setting up a client for a deployment of Windows 8.1. They have a manufacturers mish mash and so far I left Toshiba because it seemed not as suitable for companies like HP and Dell.

Other manufacturers have mechanism for handling the BIOS so I'm after smilar tool

did someone familiar to a tool that I can run TPM for a build process?

    Thank you

Usually, you can change the settings of TPM in the BIOS...
On Toshiba laptops, you can also find a preinstalled software Toshiba HWSetup as Toshiab Security Assistant.

These own Toshiba tools offer different options that are also in the BIOS.
The TPM module must be listed using one of the tools mentioned

Here check the box of "security assistance".

    Where is the real?
Can I get my data with the new motherboard?

I think you should be able to unlock the HARD drive using another motherboard with the same TPM.
But I also recommend you back up the data from the old HARD drive to be on the safe side

  • Tecra R10 - TPM is locked after the wrong password

    Hello

I already turned on TPM on my Toshiba Tecra R10. Problem is that I entered wrong password so the secure TPM is locked, it is possible to unlock the TPM without waiting several hours (automatick unlock the TPM)?

    Thanks for any response.

    Hello

Have you checked the "TPM guide information line" in the folder utilities Toshiba?

I found this info on TPM:
TPM offers a feature to create and define the multiple encryption keys, certificates, and passwords.
Once set, make sure that the passwords are carefully stored and encryption of files is saved! If these settings are lost or forget, encrypted using the TPM module files cannot be decrypted and encrypted data is not accessible!

I think that if you forgot the password and didn't create a token, then you will not be able to rest the password.

But check the line of TPM information guide that should be stored on the laptop.

  • Satellite U200-181: How can I check if the TPM Module is present

How can I check Trusted Platform module is present or not?

    Hello

The TPM module (trusted platform module module) configuration is done in the BIOS Setup program, and this feature is available only with certain models.

I put t know if the U200-181 is favorable or not, but you can check it out yourself.
Safety controller parameters should be available in the system BIOS Setup on the second site.
If the device supports the TPM module, you should see the switch to enable or disable this security option. Generally according to the default TPM module is disabled.

  • The update of the BIOS for Satellite Pro M70 does support TPM?

    Hello

There was an update of the bios that is specially designed for Vista... = bios-vista - 510win.zip on the Toshiba site...

Although my Satellite Pro M70-113 did not support the default TPM module (BIOS verson 1.1, I always have this), is it possible that this update includes the TPM secure to enable bitlocker on vista?

Can someone check and confirm please... :)

And secondly, is configuration BIOS update for Windows utility saves the current state of the BIOS in some external as backup media, while if it happens with the process of update... the previous version can be restored in return?

And a BIOS may be downgraded?

    Thank you.

    Hello

(1.) I m not 100% sure but I think the new BIOS for the M70 does not support the TPM secure. I read somewhere that all BIOS versions that support TPM on Toshiba laptops cannot be updated by a common user, but the user must contact the authorized Toshiba service provider for these updates.
That's why I think that Toshiba would not any BIOPS version by download issue if this BIOS would support the TPM.

2.) now something about the second question:
The new BIOS version replaces the old BIOS and BIOS States and to my knowledge it of not possible to save the settings for a backup more later.
Generally, you must be careful with any update of the BIOS. Bad BIOS or bad update procedure may damage the jury!

3 HP has a disk encryption program full that I can use instead of Bitlocker?

    Hello:

According to this link, it's... see page 17, unless you live in a country where prohibited by law.

    http://WWW8.HP.com/h20195/v2/GetPDF.aspx%2Fc04111362.PDF

You should be able to see that this one listed in Device Manager under the category of security devices.

The TPM module is enabled by default on all of my PC HP's business office and it appears in Device Manager under the category of security devices.

If you don't see it, I check the Security menu in the BIOS of your PC and see if it allow it, or reset the BIOS to its default values and it must be automatically activated.

    Hello

I posted this already in another view about a similar BIOS problem.

To me, it seems that something was wrong during the process of updating the BIOS, and if you're lucky, the flashing of the ROM BIOS might help you.

As far as I know that you would need a BIOS version of special rescue and the drive to reflash the module ROM that you do not and therefore, you will need to contact the ASP in your country for assistance.

This isn't a real solution that you expect, but it s an advice how to get a solution
This is why I would recommend contacting the ASP in your country for the control of the laptop

    Good luck buddy
