  I have trouble creating my DRS cluster + storage of DRS, I have 3 hosts esxi 5.1 for the task

  First, I created the cluster, no problem with that, so the DRS storage was created and now I can see in the Summary tab

  I search the Web and there are similar problems when people has only a single data store (the one that came with ESXi) and need to add another but in my case... vcenter detects any...

  In the views of storage I see the store of data (VMFS) but for some strange reason the cluster not

  In order to achieve data warehouses minimum (2) can I create an NFS and map it in THE 3 esxi hosts? Vcenter which consider a play config?

  You probably only have local data warehouses, which are not that HA would require for this feature (pulsations datastore) to work properly.

  You will need either 2 iSCSI, FC 2 or 2 NFS volumes... Or a combination of the any of them, for this feature to work. If you don't want to use this feature, you can also turn it off:

  Hello - I am looking to remove the DatastoreClusters and then list data warehouses as well with their size (total size, used space, free space, put in service, uncommitted space) and the total number of virtual machines on this data store. I would also like to understand what data center and they are on clusters. Is this possible? I might want to limit what is displayed in data warehouses that are 13 percent of free space or less.

  Hello!!  I hope someone can help me with a PowerCLI script that can pull the info from the object into a file, txt or csv.  In order to get our environment cleaned before our next year Dr. with MRS, I want a list showing each VM and the data store (s) in that it is the name of the folder in the virtual computers view and models.  We keep our VMs organized by creating folder names that correspond to the application running on the virtual machine.  I mention a SRM than last year because our protected groups matched groups of our table of 3PAR Rcopy.  However, we have added over 200 new virtual machines from this era and the members of my team essentially placed these new virtual machines on the first available data store that had enough free space.  Unfortunately, we are not using storage profiles... it's scheduled for next year.

  Information extracted would look like the following:

  ServerName Datastore folder name

  Server1 LUN0 ActiveDirectory

  Server2 LUN0 ActiveDirectory

  Serveur3 LUN1 ActiveDirectory

  Server4 LUN3 Argo

• I have a virtual machine that is resident on two data warehouses, and I need to move

  Okay, I'm trying to reconfigure the storage on a cluster of ESXi to software development, and I fell on a virtual machine that is resident on two data warehouses.  Somehow, the user has configured this thing to have most of the VM files on the data store 5 while all the vmdk but the residence on the data store 1 boot drive.  He probably did it because of the size of the old warehouses of data and the many VMs older than his colleagues left sitting.  Well, now I just reconfigure data warehouses so that there is more usable space, but I can't move this machine a virtual so that I can reconfigure the rest of storage.  (For reference, the old warehouses of data have been implemented in 4 sets of three disks in RAID 3 and a set of four disks in RAID 3 with two drives hot spare.)  For the record: not my idea.  I am reconfiguring them now to be a set of 15 drives in RAID 6, divided into two LUNS on both controllers, with a hot spare.)

  Well, now I need to figure out how to get this VM is spent at one of new data stores.  The data migration store feature does not work.  Any recommendations?

  You can move the VMDK individually with the advanced functionality of storage vMotion allows you to ask the data disk on your new storage space and then have the OS disk track.

• SNMP, generic SQL data loader, and built-in Port adapters

  Anyone have any success with using the SNMP (default MIB) and/or adapters third generic data SQL Loader?

  I'm under vCenter operations v5.7 VAPP and test the custom UI. I have installed the SNMP card, but when adding my own MIB they do not appear in the drop-down list when you try to add a new resource. I followed the docs to update the card with your own MIB files and everything is a - ok until I actually try to add a resource.

  I saw this KB:

  But I loadded a few different mibs, poking around them in a mib browser, and each of them meet the requirements of that article.

  Regarding the SQL adapter. I add my instance of the adapter and the credentials and it tests fine, but when you add the resource to the environment overview screen, the 'Resource Type' dropdown is empty/non-editable. When I click ok, it of course gives me an error:

  The field 'type of Resrouce' is a required field. Please enter a value.

  Anyone who cross?

  Two problems solved.

  First of all, the SNMP MIB has not picked up due to permissions on the file that I was transferred to the analytical VM. Duh. Evolution of the property of admin: admin corrects this problem. VMWare has taken this error.

  Also found a solution to the question SQL by clicking... the random button it appears that does not refresh the kind of resources until you run an auto-discovery. After crossing the Autodiscover queries, the drop-down list the type of resource is now available from the manual discovery. However, to make changes to the query/discovery files requires another automatic discovery for the changes to be picked up.

• Can't see the iSCSI data warehouses after reboot

  I have 2 ESX 3.5.0 u3 hosts running on Dell PowerEdge 2950 servers and connect to a Dell PowerVault MD3000i. Recently, I upgraded the MD3000i gen.2 firmware, and after the upgrade, one of the MD3000i controllers began to experience extremely slow (3-4 MB/s) write to its LUNS assigned speed. Dell support reviewed my setup and said I have a configuration problem - all 4 of the MD3000i ports are on the same subnet, while according to them, they should be divided into two subnets. I have interruption scheduled for this Saturday, close all virtual machines, added an additional VMkernel port and a service console for the new subnet on each host, removed addresses for two of the ports of discovery dynamic and restarted the two hosts. When they restarted, I changed the IP address on a single port on each controller. The servers came, restored 4-port iSCSI sessions and can see two LUNS defined on the MD3000i, but cannot see data warehouses - it's like they went, and LUN are naked. Creating new data warehouse will wipe away their own, and while I have current backups, I would rather jump restore all this from scratch. Is there anything that can be done here?

• Problem renaming of data warehouses and networks

  I have recently upgraded a number of servers to ESX 4.1 to 5 ESXi and vCenter vCenter 4 5 and have noticed a problem. Whenever I have rename a data store or a network, the new name is added to the list of network or data store, but the old name is too present. In the past, if I had a data store and renamed her, I'd still only 1 ad for the renamed data store. With ESXi 5, I have two - the former name and the new name. It goes the same for networks. And they always appear in vCenter as being attached to the host. I tried to disconnect/reconnect vcenter, removing the host and add it again, restart the ESX host and always the old names appear.  If I look at the host through vShpere, everything seems OK with the renowned name 1.  But vCenter can't seem to let go of the old data store names and network.  Any ideas?

  I can't tell you for sure. This has to do with the return to a snapshot of the IMO. If you have a single host and back to a snapshot you will be logged out anyway (if the Group of ports of origin no longer exists). In a cluster, you will have the opportunity of the first migration/vMotion virtual computer to another host that maintains such a group of port before returning to a snapshot. As I said, just a thought.

• Storage vMotion expired, now VM is on 2 data warehouses and an orphan VM

  I was trying last night to storage vmotion, my Exchange 2007 to a new data store on a different San, and it exceeded 6% of the way.  Now it's show as being on two data stores.  There is also a virtual machine with the same name appearing as "orphans".  I looked around, but saw no conclusive answers.  On the new network SAN is a .vmx file and .vswp and some newspapers and other things. On the SAN original is also the .vmx file, of the regular vmdk, newspapers and 3 hard is named dmotion - scsi0:00, dmotion - Scsi0:01 and DmotionScsi0:02.

  I'm afraid that my exchange server is now in limbo.  No idea what I need to do?

  When I got SVMotion failures in the past, I had to power off of the prompt and choose full Migration from the menu of the virtual machine.

  It was the same for plug-in and RCLI-based failures.

  I want to use the Oracle Sql Developer Data Modeler to generate ER diagram for my schema. There are a lot of tables in this schema, so I would like to exclusively identify the tables that should be selected to generate my ER diagram.

  Basically, I want these table that are related to other tables here. The reason being, if I select all the tables in the schema, and then I went to these tables in the ER diagram which have nothing to do with other tables.

  Please can anyone suggest write queries that produce this data dictionary?

• Can't separate the pix date during and after import?

  I recently switched to Photos v. 1.3 from iPhoto, running an iMac with OS X 10.11.3. When you import photos from a memory card into iPhoto, I was able to separate the photos by date, as I found myself with, say, 10 different sets of pictures, one for each day, from a memory card which covered ten days in total. I don't seem to have the same functionality in Photos - I checked the online help for the Photos and can't find any mention of it. I'll appreciate any helpful comments!

  Look in moments - they are automatically put in order by date and place - Moments are the new events and totally based on information from photos - no relationship to import date - all the Photos is sorted by date added to the library (the date of importation)
