Ejection force is bad?

Force is a bad thinb disc? As it can cause problems and other things?

Yes, this can damage information on a disk. Never eject a USB without using the Finder.

    Hello

Since the installation of El Capitan, (10.11.4) I get sometimes, "disc ejected properly."   Trouble is, I do not eject the disc at all!  This has happened on a couple of different flash players.  I've never had this happen in Mac OS 1.1 > 10.10.5

Someone knows what could happen? Ejected

    10.11.4 on Mac Pro Tower

Trouble is, I do not eject the disc at all!  This has happened on a couple of different flash players.

It is often the error message that appears when there are problems with the USB cable, or in particular, USB hubs.

To test, if you can, connect these annoying devices via a direct connection to your computer and/or using different USB cables.

  • Since the upgrade to El Capitan can eject disks

I find myself unable to eject the hard disks and flash drives. I'm a photographer and I regularly load for clients flash drives, this is usually a fast CAP, copy photos, eject, and move on to the next thing.

I can't stop my MBP whenever I need to eject a flash disk, it's incredibly frustrating and frankly disappointing that this has not been picked up in tests.

Say this has to do with the projector, but I don't really like what it has to do with people, this isn't a solution complicated, is this still going to be sorted?

I have the same problem and it's really a lot of time. The Mac said that the Finder uses the external hard drive. I tried to restart the Finder, but that makes no difference. All I can do on the other that the ejection Force is stopped at the Mac, disconnect the drive, and then turn the Mac. It is ridiculous to have to do several times a day.

  • Spotlight privacy and strength of transmission usb eject

I use an external usb drive, as my Time Machine drive. almost every time that I try to eject it, I get a message that it cannot be ejected and I should use the ejection Force. In the past, I was able to avoid this by turning off Spotlight indexing drive. However, when I try to add this drive (or other) for the Spotlight privacy settings, I get an error message and I cannot add anything. What happens in the privacy of Spotlight? Why can't I eject this drive? I use two other USB external drives on a regular basis and do not have this problem with either. Is - this specific Time machine?

You have some sort of problem with the drive. I would try using first aid in disk utility to solve this problem, if it is repairable.

Repair the hard drive and permissions - El Capitan

    HD recovery start:

Restart the computer and after the buzzer, press on and hold down the COMMAND and R until the menu screen appears.

    Repair

When the recovery menu appears, select disk utility and press the continue button. Disk utility charges and select the withdrawal of external volume of the Scripture list on the left.  Click the first aid tab in the toolbar... If disk utility reports any errors that have been corrected, then re-run first aid until no errors are reported. Wait until the operation is complete, then quit disk utility and return to the main menu. Select restart from the Apple menu.

  • Problem with external hard drive (an unexpected error - 50)

I've had this problem for a few months now. Sometimes, I can't delete a file from my external hard drive, or export a file to it. The process is impossible, and I get a message "Cannot perform the action due to an unexpected error - 50". Ejecting the disc gives the message "eject impossible because another program can use it." Ejection force becomes the only option. After re-login, the problem goes away, like nothing ever happened.

The question is not constant, but quite common to become a nuisance, the one I want stopped.

That's what I think it is (a bad connection with the cable, defective contact), or is this a virus? I need to know.

The hard drive is 1 TB Toshiba Canvio Basics and is formatted as Mac OS extended (Journalized).

not a virus, and not only because there is no virus mac at this time.

negative errors on the discs can be a signal indicating that the file is corrupted or worse still, the drive is failing. While it can also be a problem with the cable or the connector that it commonly goes back on the disc itself.

Currently, it is recommended that you backup your data if a backup fails, you may need to save what you can manually and sometimes that means go to this folder by folder or file by file

Use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac - Apple Support

All HARD drives (and SSD') eventually fail and while this isn't a your statement you should check the drive with disk utility (Macintosh HD/Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility) after you got what you possibly can off and consider replacing the disk with a new one.

  • HP Storageworks Ultrium 960

    Dear friends,

I have HP Storageworks ultrium 960, I have problem with duct tape, the problem is I did error cartridge insertion of data, it must insert the ultrium LTO3 tape, but I made mistake insertion LTO4, and then the problem is blink on tape error, data cartridge ejects, until I have ejection force (push eject button 1 minutes and the cartdige of data on) , but the Ribbon cut and leaves the tape inside. I got the tape and remove all the tape, after all clear I insert the right data LTO3 cartridge. Insertion of bands normally but, then again, this continually, I check inside (I take a part the case) and to see the process inside, tape/band not pull by the mechanic on the disk.

There the suggestion for us how to solve the problem? or maybe a component because of the breakdown in Miss insert the data cartridge?

I appreciate the response and the suggestion

    Best regards

  • Ejecting the disc external hard Force required

    Hi-

I thought before that I had a solution to this problem, but obviously not.

Almost whenever I click on the icon next to my external hard drive backup disk, in the left pane of a window of Finder, place appears an alert...

The eject button Force works, so I have a workaround, but it seems unfair to have to use it.

Time Machine power down and restart my machine clears the problem for a while, but then it comes back after a few hours or a few days.

I tried to use 'lsof' Unix command in the Terminal, but haven't learned something from him.

    Any ideas?

    -Gil

FWIW, I tried to recreate your problem with a USB 3.0 external drive. Unfortunately, I had no problem ejecting the disc without turning off time Machine. It is perhaps a matter of Firewire, but I have no Firewire drive to test.

Something you might try is to reset the SMC or the NVRAM and see if that helps.

  • Why force eject hard drive every time?

I have a MacBook Pro laptop.  When it is on my desk, I have a lot of things, including a backup disk, plugged.

When I want to take my phone away from my office, I have to disconnect these things.  But, before I unplug the FireWire cable to the backup drive, I always first to eject the disc.  Sometimes I have to wait for Time Machine to slow down, then comes the ejection.  It is the way it works for years.

Then last November, I upgraded from 10.6.8 in 10.11.2.  Now, every time - EVERY TIME - I press the little icon in a Finder window to eject the backup disc, up displays an alert:

"Force eject" still works and is now part of my routine.  But it doesn't seem fair.  What is causing this extra step?

Only time Machine should use this disk.  With the Finder, I see nothing that does not part of complex database of time Machine.

I have not received all the Time Machine messages; a cursory inspection of the backup seems good.

I tried typing lsof in the Terminal and haven't seen any strange open files. :

    lsof $ | grep Volumes

    Gil FolderAct 289 5r DIR 1,2 13353610 170 /Volumes

I even opened a file on my disk backup, just to test that my order of lsof works:

    lsof $ | grep Volumes

    Finder 269 gil 24r REG 1.8 149158 692699/Volumes/Orange of the MBProHD/Backups.backupdb/MBPro/2016-01-08-090714/MBProHD/Install log backup

    Gil FolderAct 289 5r DIR 1,2 13353610 170 /Volumes

I have an easy solution, but always this anomaly mind.

    Any suggestions?

    -Gil

Try disabling Time Machine. Then, restart your computer. Then see if you can try to eject the disc as usual. If you can, turn on Time Machine. Try to eject the disc again. This may solve your problem.

    I hope this helps!

    Hi Donald,.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

This happens usually when the script does not have enough permissions to manage this.

Please make sure that this folder applications, and two libraries have full read and write.

Also if it happens again, please tell me if you use Bridge for example or directly with Photoshop.

    Thank you

  • force PrPro to capture a bad band?

scan a few VHS then exit vhs for a grass Valley advc 110, then out through a dv cable to the pc. the follow-up must be adjusted or more, or maybe its just a bunch of bad. who knows. but I can't get a read on the follow-up because it stops the capture while I'm trying to adapt it. is it possible to have it just capture the squiggles and all? It keeps cutting the signal when its 100% :-/ unless the only other thing I can think of is to capture the Ribbon by playing on a LED desplay and recording with a digital camera off the screen, but that does not look very strong but :-/

    Help?

Do you by chance have an old dv camera?

These cameras have analog in which means that you can capture on tape.

Maybe a camera is more forgiving then first is.

  • Project due to bad lack ejected the drive

I just changed a project when, for no reason at all, the hard drive, that I was working on disconnected itself. I left the PCF, reconnected the hard drive and reopened FCP. The project now looks like a clip without content, and I don't know what happened or what to do. I was literally putting on the finishing touches.

Is WWhat version this? Projects should not be mixed with clips.
