El Capitan does more work with Canon 5600F scanner. New driver and supplied Canon software update and the new driver did not work either. A solution? A different software? This new scanner flat works with El Capitan?

  • Canon scanner

    Opening of the early Sierra brings up a Panel for list for the user to select scanners. For me no scanners are listed. I have a Canon MG7520 that has worked well for more than a year of Apple operating.

    After checking the scanner and find WiFi and other features everything in order, tempting scan shows a report of several reasons for the failure. The last seems to appply. He says that the name of the scanner is not correct.

    Experiment, I found a work around start in the Apple preferences and go Printers and scanners. It works as follows:

    Power scanner / place the document on the scanner glass / open preferences from Apple (for the top of the screen to the left) / open Printers and scanners / scanner names listed / select or enter MG7500 Canon series 6 / Scanner screen opens (it shows a symbol of a scanner and scan of the word in its upper right) / select the area to be scanned in the new box / click the scan symbol (a form opens allowing the user to specify a name and a location for the scan).

    All this applies only to Canon printer/scanner and maybe not all of them. I imagine that Apple will correct the defect of the opening screen of the Sierra to do its job.

    I was running the OS before El Capitan, and it is running slower and slower. When I ran the disc utilities, clean permissions etc, I noticed elements of iPhoto & iTunes seem to show more often, so I thought that updated to El Capitan to resolve issues related to the but didn't, it's just slow, if not worse.   • Problems with El Capitan and using my MAcBook Pro password.

    After I down loaded El Capitan, I wasn't able to use my password to connect to my MacBook Pro. The only way I can enter now is to restart Safari guest mode, only it can I use my password and log in as myself. Someone knows how to solve this problem or how to get rid of El Capitan and return to Yosemite.

    I have a relatively new (9 mos old) Officejet 6600. When I turned on it today I got this error "failure of the Scanner: unable to scan, copy or send a fax."
    It is not connected to a computer or network, and is used only for the copy and fax.

    Make sure that the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet. (do not use a hub or a surge protector) This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.

    Driver scanner Windows 8 is way dumbed too. The user doesn't have enough control with the scanner. "Custom settings" don't work anymore.

    This is the driver that I downloaded from the own Canon Website:

    To scan over the network:
    System uses the Microsoft driver and NOT the one for Canon scan. Scanning is invoked by wireless network.
    (8-64 bit Windows) computer must use the driver Canon NOT Microsoft!
    When you try to change the settings of the scanner with settings for the Canon of the window page, there are 2 to choose: the first is the Microsoft driver (Canon 5200 series WS) and Canon (Canon 5200 series XPS). When I choose the XPS one, he tells me that it cannot connect to the scanner. However, it IS on and has been on and ready. The system only allows me to select the driver WS.

    There is no problem with Windows 7. This system uses the Canon driver for both printing and scanning. With this one, you can choose if you want to scan in grayscale or color, and when you adjust the brightness/contrast, it shows you what looks like the real project. With version dumbed down as Windows 8 insists on usage, you do not get these controls.

    If you have activated the preferences-> Security-> FileVault system, then you must enter your password initially so that device drivers can decrypt your encrypted drive.  Once the system is running, you must then log into your account.

    They are really 2 separate activities that happen just to use the same password.

    Thanks for this info and choosing the communities Support from Apple. I know how important is able to complete your update to El Capitan at a later date! The good news is that you can simply delete the "install Mac OS X" install app in the Applications folder on your Mac. Then you can open the Mac App Store when you're ready to update and restart the download from the tab updates or searching through the Mac App Store for El Capitan.     You have placed your beam to insert at the end of your text on page 13 and then apply Insert menu: Page Break? In the v5.6.2, Pages I just add a new page to a section of four pages to this approach.
