  To change the password in El Capitan Mail 9.2, you could do a little weird way:

  Mail / preferences / accounts / Account Information / Server outgoing (SMTP) mail / change the list of SMTP servers / (choose the account you want to update), at the bottom of the window:

  User name:...

  Password:...

  It's viable work around me for my Gmail accounts. I hope it help you too!

  I'm not entirely understand your problem. Orange said you settings are OK and you receive your emails, well in a way unsecured. Which would indicate that Orange has no secure ports configured for their mail server.

  Me too. Just installed ElCapitan and Mail is simply impossible. Preview pane is there, but no bodies in the messages. "Download 13 of 46 messages" or something like is always in the activity window. Reopen it changes every time I post. then reopen, I have duplicates of messages I deleted previously.

  It has something to do with icloud, but I don't know how to fix it.
