El Capitan ~ Mail

Since I installed El Capitan, I got e-mail problems.  The most annoying is that my deleted messages reappear.  Sometimes, it happens immediately when I delete a message and I have to delete it again... and sometimes I delete a bunch and they all reappear later.  Is this a common problem?

From the Mail menu bar, you select

▹ mail preferences... ▹ Accounts

Select one of your accounts, IMAP in the list on the left, and then open the behaviors of the box tab, uncheck the box marked

Store the deleted messages on the server

Do the same thing in your other accounts IMAP. Save changes when prompted.

  • How can I change my password on EL Capitan mail 9.2

I'm under El Capitan and using Mail to get to my iCloud and Yahoo mail.  And the account settings no longer has a field "password".  It does not exist in the e-mail settings, or internet preferences.  Where can I find the place to update and change my password for my iCloud email and my Yahoo email for messaging 9.2 El Capitan running?  Help, please.  Thank you.  I don't understand why the field of password feature is not included in all aspects of establishing an email account in account preferences.  It should be so simple - as it was yesterday before the upgrade to the top of El Capitan.

    Jon

To change the password in El Capitan Mail 9.2, you could do a little weird way:

Mail / preferences / accounts / Account Information / Server outgoing (SMTP) mail / change the list of SMTP servers / (choose the account you want to update), at the bottom of the window:

    User name:...

    Password:...

It's viable work around me for my Gmail accounts. I hope it help you too!

    • El Capitan Mail & Calendar

      Hi all;

Day 1, I got a Mac (about 2.5 years ago) I sync from the OSX calendar and Contacts with Google that I maintain as main repo for such data.

Now. Recently, I started using OS x Mail to receive emails from a particular mailbox and whenever a calendar event is due I am sent an e-mail from OSX Mail. How can I stop this? I ONLY want to stop mail notifications not popups.

      Thank you

      I have.

      Greetings, ianusg!

It seems that if a setting in the calendar application on your MacBook Pro running 10.11.6 must be changed. Just to be sure I understand, you are wanting only the emails to stop. I'll be happy to help you!

Calendar (El Capitan): define an event alert and notifications -use this article to remove the custom e-mail alert is sent to you.

    • After El Capitan mail upgrade works not

Last week I weakened and improved el Capitan. What a mistake! The operating system works very well, but the new Apple Mail app is crazy. Whenever I try to send an email, the small window that opens when you dial began to disappear and reappear - flashing "over and out" - as soon as I pressed 'Send'. He never stops. The letter does not and continues to disappear and reappear forever. I don't use icloud.

I'm at my wit's end. What is WITH Apple Inc.? ! Impossible that they deliver a simple mail program that works every time without these terrible problems. Google does!

I looked up solutions on Google to find these obscure and complicated solutions 'back room' I don't understand any their.

Is there a simple solution that does not require a computer degree to understand?

    • El Capitan mail app - the message body empty conversations

      Hello

I have this problem: Mac Mini end of 2012, El Capitan 10.11.4, Mail with POP3 and IMAP accounts 9.3 app mixed, Classic view (mailboxes on the left, the list of the top right of the mail messages, the body of the message below on the right). I have just a few messages from Inbox of 2000 + (says the header to Mail.app window).

When I open the mail application, I can see the body of the message (body), as long as I select just a simple mail, non-conversation in the list. The problem starts when

I click on some 'conversation' (blue triangle) mail: the mail body field appears empty, except the headers. Double click opens an empty window (just e-mail header fields are written). The second problem is, when I click again to all mail non-conversation - body is now empty (but it worked just a moment ago!).

Smoking using mail app, but only until what I click on message "conversation."

I have tried to box the letters a regeneration, the PRAM reset, removed the ~/Library/Mail/V3/MailData / envelope *, ExternalUpdates. * I don't have any mail extensions, the problem exists with and without web browser running, I don't have any antivirus running.

In Mail I could solve this problem by checking and unchecking "arrange by conversation" (point of view' menu) several times.

    • How to disable sending and response activities in El Capitan Mail.app

Window animations in Mail.app could by funny, but when using Mail.app for work that kind of kittenish thing is annoying and time consuming. It was possible to inactivate these animations in earlier versions of the Mac OS - X (see, for example, https://software.com/mac/tweaks/disable-send-and-reply-animations ), but it seems that this tweak does not work with El Capitan.

Is it possible to inactivate the Send and Reply animations in Mail.app version 9.3?

In addition, I would like to have the compose window always appear in the same place, rather than opening up to different locations after the animation.

    • Text of El Capitan - MAIL - OSX coding error

      Hello

yesterday I loaded the last update of El Capitan 10.11.4 to my iMac (retina 5K, 27 inches, end of 2014)

Since the update I have trouble with the Mail application.

The text of the Email to some of my clients turn into symbols like this:

There are also old mails changed that I have read before,

someone has an idea of what I can do?

      Greetings

      Dennis

Please, back up all data before proceeding.

Launch the application book fonts and validate all the fonts. You must select the fonts in order to validate them. See the built-in Help and support article for instructions. If the font book detects any problems, solve them.

Start in safe mode rebuild the font caches. Restart as usual and test.

Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or an earlier version, or if a firmware password is defined, or the boot volume is a software RAID, you cannot start in safe mode. In this case, ask for instructions.

If you still have problems, then in the font book menu bar, select

The file restore Standard ▹ fonts...

You will be prompted to confirm and then enter your administrator login password.

Also note that if you disable or remove built-in fonts, for example by using a third-party font manager, the system may become unstable.

    • Since the update to El Capitan Mail fails to receive emails Orange

Yesterday morning I updated my iMac to El Capitan of Lion.  Now, when I try to access my e-mail Orange by email on my computer it I cannot collect my emails unless I use the option 'Allow unsecure access' in the settings.  He has no problem sending emails.  I contacted Orange which confirm that my settings are all OK.  Someone at - it ideas on that?

      Mail Version 9.2 (3112)

OS X Version of El Capitan 10.11.3

      Mac 21.5 inches mid 2011

Intel Core i5 2.5 GHz processor

      4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 memory

I'm not entirely understand your problem. Orange said you settings are OK and you receive your emails, well in a way unsecured. Which would indicate that Orange has no secure ports configured for their mail server.

    • El Capitan - mail rules > ' perform the following Actions: "menu drop-down is hidden.

Here's the problem: after setting up the mail in El Capitan and synchronization iCloud with mail rules (the rules are still intact), I noticed a strange thing trying to adjust my Mail rules to filter emails with a few new subfolders. Rules are still in place and function (i.e. ' if one of the following conditions is met:' of > Contains > E-mail address > (+ other rules), then, "perform the following actions:' such as moving, e-mail message, icon bounce, etc."), but the top drop-down selector below him "perform the following...". "section, which in my case is generally" move message to: (name of the folder here) ", is hidden from view. It's still there, but I can't physically click top because the table/cell/div that contains this selector is compressed or not large enough to display the menu drop down. I know that this is true is because the other rules that make them several "Perform" actions... ' display the actions of second and third, but are hidden one.

This is a problem because if I add another "' move to ' action, it is in conflict with the first... but I can't delete the first action, because I can't click on it."

I realize that it is a strange... Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?

      Thank you

      Shane

    • El Capitan, mail server upgrade will not save sent mail

Hello. I have a MacBook Air that I've recently updated to El Capitan 10.11.2. Since then, no mail my iCloud account disappears from my application sent a few minutes after that I have sent. I tried everything I read on the forums of discussion - uncheck "enable this account" on account information in preferences, then the closure, restart, controlled again and and restarted again. remove the iCloud account and then add again; reconstruction of the mailbox store, and then restart; Access Time Machine. The emails seem to have reached their destination. But I would like to know how to fix my laptop mail application so it saves sent messages.

Separately, iCloud emails often take a lot of time to reach my Inbox. (Gmail emails get there immediately).

Any ideas on how I can fix this? I would be grateful for any help. Thank you.

Only messages disappear also from icloud.com?

    • 10.11.2 El Capitan: Mail keeps quit and request for rebuild

      Hi all

everything must be that the latest version of the OS X Mail 10.11.2, problem keeps quit and demand to rebuild. before leaving, she said "there is a problem with your mailbox". This occurs since the release of El Capitan. but there is nothing in the Yosemite (10.10).

I have a problem very annoying in both my iMAC and MBP. one has the solution for that?

and I don't know why Apple is not fix this problem after two critical update in 10.11?

Apple, please answer this!  El Capitan really hurts my daily duties.

Me too. Just installed ElCapitan and Mail is simply impossible. Preview pane is there, but no bodies in the messages. "Download 13 of 46 messages" or something like is always in the activity window. Reopen it changes every time I post. then reopen, I have duplicates of messages I deleted previously.

It has something to do with icloud, but I don't know how to fix it.

Re: Mail: El Capitan: Emails not shown

    • El capitan mail will send personal photos by itself

After the upgrade to El Capitan, my mail will add a picture of my library to my messages, without my consent.

I checked in the mail preferably: 'add pictures' is not checked.

I have a Mac I mid-2007. El Capitan works well for other features.

How can I stop my computer to send my pictures to anyone without my knowledge?

      Thank you.

It is not sent anywhere, and it has been around much longer than El Capitan.

    • El Capitan Mail - content of the message can be seen in the Viewer window

I use the classic layout in Mail for Mac OS. The list of messages appears in the mailbox on top with an adjustable bar in the Middle, between the content of the message selected in the list.

Today I moved to the bottom of the window of the splitter bar so I can work with (move, delete, mark as read) a long list of messages in a mailbox. When I did with this project, I was unable to bring the bar of diving to the bottom of the Middle window. This means that I can't see the content of a message that is selected.

The separator bar is moving normally through when you take a small dot in the middle. With the bar at the bottom of the window, the point is gray. I can't enter to move.

I opened a second window of the observer. I returned the same way - the entire list and no content.

I resized the window and tried all the options to display more or less in the header items, etc. No change.

I closed all windows and quit Mail and revived. No improvement.

I restarted my Mac. Still no improvement.

Any suggestions? Outside the call to Apple?

It works very well here. You have to keep pushing the bar upward until the window is reduced to normal. Make sure that the cursor is on the gray point and going on to a horizontal bar with an arrow pointing up.

    • How can I change the outgoing in El Capitan mail port settings?

My internet service provider recently changed the messaging port coming out (IMAP). How do I change this setting? I can receive messages but not send it. I can send email from the provider's Web site. It's already happened and usually I can send emails for several days. I changed the port settings in the past, but did not figure how to do it since the upgrade to El Capitan.

If you know where to put the port, but it is not enabled, uncheck the box marked automatically detect and manage settings. Then, you should be able to change the port.

The outgoing port will be in the SMTP settings. Each account has a configuration which you can access by selecting Edit from the context menu of SMTP.

    • The El Capitan Mail smart folders display bug?

      I upgraded from 10.10.5 to 10.11.6.

Mail.app is having display problems in smart folders.

When I click on a smart folder, it lists the previews/messages like this:

As you can see, the content of the Panel overview/list more jammed to the left.

The only way I found to restore it how it should be, is to adjust the width of this Board. As soon as I set (even by a just a pixel, so be it) messages are again occupy the entire width.

But if I switch switch to another folder, and then return to a smart folder I "fixed", it will again appear incorrectly. If the "fix" lasts as long as I still watch one of this file.

I restarted the post, and it has no effect.

      Is this a known bug?

Is there a suggested way to try to resolve this? Basically, he made unusual Mail to me (or, at least, considerably annoying to use).

If it's just the smart dance which gives bad try this.

      Exit the Mail.

In the Finder, select go, then go to the folder and paste the path below into the box and click Go:

      ~/Library/Mail/v3/MailData/SmartMailboxesLocalProperties.plist

In the window that opens, select the file SmartMailboxesLocalProperties.plist and move it to the trash, but do not delete it. Start Mail and see if it works now.

In case of problem, you can always leave Mail, open the Recycle Bin, right-click on the file and choose put back to restore and replace the new file created.

If the above does not work, try this:

      Exit the Mail.

In the Finder, select go, then navigate to the folder. Copy and paste the path below and click GO:

      ~/Library/containers/com. Apple.mail

Move the entire folder com.apple.mail to the Recycle Bin, open Mail and test. If all goes well, you can empty the trash. You may need to re create your user settings.
