El Capitan scanning

I installed elCapitan 10.11.4 and now my Canon MP240 will scan is no longer through image capture. He continues to work as a printer, but generates an error when you try to connect the scanner with the Image Capture. I have reset the printer several times without success. I downloaded a trial of Vuescan, that works, but I really don't want to spend $80 on this solution. Graphic converter is a cheaper option, but works through Image capture for scanning, so is a no go. Someone at - it no work around?

I have no experience with Canon printers, but my Epson printer can scan from system preferences > printers and Scanners.

I suggest that you look over there and see if you find a "Scan" button like this:

  • Using the function of scan macOS Sierra HP Officejet 7300 series network printer does not work; He had no problem with El Capitan...

Printer HP Officejet 7300 network series that allows to work flawlessly with El Capitan does not work after the upgrade to Sierra.

With macOS Sierra, when used as a network print service printer works fine however scan does not work. Programs like the Image Capture, HP Easy Scan etc does not see the printer. However, if the printer is directly connected to the Macbook Pro using the usb cable, a new printer is added to the list of printers (it shows print and scan functions while the printer network in the list shows only printing function) and the scanner works well with Image Capture, etc. If the usb cable is removed disconnects this printer in the list and there is no way to turn it on. I have the latest update for the printer installed from the App store. It looks like a driver issue, but I wonder if there is a work around for this problem...

  • HPEnvy 7640 HPScan 4.6.0 (36): HP Scan not saving docs after update OS El Capitan

I've just updated to El Capitan (Mac OS 10.11). I use HP Scan and my scanner working properly until the moment when I want to save the scanned document. Then I get error message saying: "unable to save scanned items. An attempt to save the documents scanned at the location requested failed. Please check that the destination exists, that it has sufficient storage space for your files and you are allowed to save files in this location. "My detsination exists (my HD), it doesn't have a lot of space and the administrator of the computer, I guess I have permission to save files. I have no problems saving other files. I also tried saving to dropbox instead of my HD, same problem.

The work around I used is to select the print option and then save the file in pdf format. This works for now, but if I want to save a document scanned as a jpg it may become more difficult.

Just to be sure, I have run the mac disk utility and found no problem with the disk.

I have 2 computers more pending to be updated to El Capitan, but is that I often scan documents I would like to address this problem before you can update other computers.

  • How can I scan from a Canon MX870 in El Capitan?

Since 'up' ranking to El Capitan, I also lost my ability to scan directly from my Canon MX870 printer/scanner. This used to be flawless in previous versions of Mac OS. Now, the menu item (import scan) Preview is either gray, or I get an error message: "cannot communicate with the scanner...". ». The same error message appears if I use the Canon MP Navigator App native. Of course, it is ridiculous, since both the scanner and the computer are on the same wireless LAN, and there is no problem with PRINTING on the same unit (so the Mac can clearly find it, but not for the purposes of analysis). Help! (I've already updated the driver...)

    1. launch the System Preferences application.

2 click on Printers & Scanners.

3 select your printer from the list on the left.

4 select the analysis , located next to the print tab.

5 click the Scanner open... .

6 it may ask you to install the software. If so, click on the install button.

7 allow the software to install. Once installed, use the application to scan documents.

I hope that solves your problem.

    Best regards

  • LasetJet Pro M475dn: Impossible to scan over the network after upgrade to El Capitan

After that I upgraded to El Capitan I no longer use HP Scan or HP Easy Scan to scan the network more. I can print to the printer, but analysis always results in the page being pulled by the document feeder, but applications just to lock-up without the document showing. Everything worked fine on Yosemite.

I found a workaround solution that once worked before after a update of Mac OS X (but had to change the name of file, much like the original file has disappeared). Just download the next file on HP (no matter that it is not for your printer; it's not mine either (OfficeJet Pro L7680) but it works).

Disable SIP for this installation and when you run the installation program (do not know if you need to do, but I did anyway). To do this, the instructions are here:

    https://forums.developer.Apple.com/thread/3981

When you run the Setup program, make sure you hold the CTRL key when you right-click on it, then click Open in the menu.

Run the Setup program. Be sure to select the HP scanning software and install it. When you get to the configuration of the printer, just skip this step (unless you are using the printer in question). The parser components are what you really want from the printer drivers are already in El Capitan, if you have a HP supported printer. The scanning software will have already installed to the moment you arrive at this screen.

Install the HP Easy Scan on the App Store app (if you get the latest version of the software your front-end). You should be able to run the scanner and scans without restart. I don't know if it will work for everyone, but certainly, it worked for me and keep me until they find what went wrong in El Capitan to disable scanning and scanning capabilities.

SIP turn on again so that your Mac is better protected. We should all work after that. After doing the above, I found that I was able to not only use the HP software, I was able to use Image Capture, preview, etc, to get images from the scanner. Your mileage may vary, but if all goes well it will work again for you all.

  • OfficeJet 6500 a +: [El Capitan] duplex resets and unusable scan to PC option

    Hi all

I encounter a bug very annoying with the latest driver for my Officejet 6500 a + (E710n) on MacOS El Capitan.

I equipped module two-sided to two-sided printing from the printer and enabled this option in the printer to use. Hoever, every time I do a printing two duplex printer is automatically disabled.

I tried to reset the printing system of the operating system, removing the drivers, reinstalling them and everything I could find on the web and on your support pages.

    I have this problem persists.

I hope that the problem would have been fixed sooner or later, but nothing seems to happen.

Is this a known bug/problem that can be fixed or not?

It's really frustrating set the duplex option, each time I need to print a document and somethimes it lies a lot of paper is wasted because of this problem.

Without forgetting to mention that the very useful option "Scan your PC" seems to have been completely forgotten by HP and it's still useless.

You will anable it new or not?

I regret to say that I am really unsutisfied by the media.

I bought a HP printer because I thought that the brand would have the guarantee of quality of the product.

It seems I was mistaken, from the day I bought the printer, I had problems even more each version of the driver.

Just one last thing: print Wi - Fi network is unusable, its so slow I could hand copy a document instead of printing.

I'm looking forward to hear from you,

    concerning

    Claudio

    Dear RnRMusicMan,

    Thanks for your suggestions.

Unfortunately, however, they were not useful for my problems.

After spending so much time trying each possible configuration and different drivers, I found the solution to all my problems (and more the impression of a Wi - Fi connection that seems completely unusable due to defects printer, I found other users complain about this).

Firstly, instead of using the driver just E710n-z use the E709n series 1.

It rolls and the duplex option is never reset to 0.

Second, if you want to use the Scan to PC option of the printer for Mac, you need to download the HP Easy Scan from the Mac App Store app. This is the official application for scanning and receive analyses of the printer.

I wonder why I couldn't find it anywhere, and I repeat once again anywhere, it is mandatory to use such an application. It's really disappointing.

I don't know if other people can do the same thing on my account, but here I paste your sentence:
"If this, or one of the posts on this thread, helped you to solve the problem, please click 'Accept as Solution' said post. • 120 envy: envy 120th Scan of the computer cannot be activated MAC running El Capitan

    Hi guys,.

I recently installed it all above named mentioned HP printer software but for some reason, I can't Scan for compatible computer.

I need to work in order to scan a batch of documents and consolidate in 1 file.

The native application of the Mac scanner handles scan page by page and saves it on my desk. but I really need the batch option to work.

I followed all the standard procedures to reinstall the software, resets etc, but I'm still having the problem.

Under the HP utility screen, I have the scan to computer option on the bottom of the menu. I click on that and extract information. Then I get this message as well as the red dot

"The HP software required for the Scan of the computer could not be located on this computer. Please download and install the latest HP recommended software for your device to http://www.hp.com/supportand then try again. »

I made sure all the software is installed and I still have the same question.

I can connect to the printer and scan of the web also. I just seems to be a problem with the HP utility App and the printer.

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thank you very much.

    Paul.

    Hi Paul,.

Download and install the HP Easy Scan application below:

    https://iTunes.Apple.com/us/app/HP-easy-scan/id967004861?MT=12

Then, open the HP utility and try to activate the Scan of the computer again.

Please let me know the results,

  • Cannot scan of my canon MP980 with El Capitan.

Is there a solution? No software driver available from Canon.

To scan using Capture of Image, you need a driver of ICA. Here's a package to the ICA driver that includes the MP980. It was finally released for OS X 10.9 but must install and works on 10.11.

Canon also has its own scanning called MP Navigator application. Here is a link to the latest version that has been published for the MP980 and as the ICA driver, must install and works on 10.11. Note that to use MP Navigator you must also install the MP980 scanner driver.
