  • False values of voltage using NI 9225 and ELectrical Power Suite 2014

    Hi all

I have a few problems regarding the use of a map of analog voltage NI 9225 with code exaple quality Applications of power (cRIO) (Delta-Sigma) of the Electrical Power after 2014. Running the example code I values of voltage wrong, they are exactly doubled! For exaple with a 230 V RMS input I get 460 V RMS. I think the problem is the module, because by default, the code example expects to use a module NI 9242. Before the upgrade to LabView 2014, everything worked perfectly with EPS 2013. Am I something missung? I configured the C module in the project manager in the same way that I used with EPS 2013. Can someone help me? Thank you

    Gianluca

    Hi Gianluca,

If you use other types of modules in the example, you must take care of the conversion of accuracy in the FPGA VI.

As FPGA VI resampling takes the signal of type fixed point +-24.1, you convert the +-24,10 and-24,5 to 24.1 in the Data Acquisition loop before feeding to the FPGA VI resampling.

And in the loop of data Communication, you restore the output of +-32,3 to 32,12 - signal + and +-32.7. Notice at the time the zoom in and zoom out are equal.

If you change other types of modules of different precision, you must change the precision of the given thread.

For example, 9244 accuracy is +-24.11, so when you convert it to +-24.1, you must restore it by variation of-32,3 to-32,13.

  • Multiple Ukraine power measurement

    Hello

I use the card Ni SMU 4143. I have a VI that propels a certain voltage level card.  Now, I'm trying to create a separate VI which will only measure the voltage and current on the power supply without a reset provision. I understand that I must "log on" to the device before I use the "power measurement multiple.vi Ukraine", but whenever I use the session initiate, it will my device and set my level of back tension reset. Can you please explain how I can create a VI that measures only the voltage and current without changing their level?

After the opening, why don't call you the VI that determines the level? Not this separate VI also call the lance function? Think that the flow of data.

  • cDAQ-9174 with modules 9225 and 9239 for issue of power measurements...

    Hello to one and all.

I do turn a cDAQ-9174 with modules 9225 and 9239 to measure the voltage (120, 208-240, 277 VAC) and current (via the clamp amp i400, Fluke - 10mA/exit A) respectively.

I have the set scale scale Differential No. (1:1 I guess) for 100: 1 for current and voltage.  With the acquisition mode set to "N samples", 10 samples to read, at the rate of 500 m.  This feeds into 'EPM_Power.vi' (polymorphic VI of the palette of EMP... can be downloaded here, http://sine.ni.com/nips/cds/view/p/lang/en/nid/209826)

I try to check my numbers with an Analyzer of power quality of 435 Fluke and supporting that upward is a Fluke 179 True RMS DMM with clamp amp i200 (for current playback)

Now, I'm running is my numbers I take data look like they're following a curve of fishing... the averages are on the right, but when my blood pressure is expected to be relatively stable, it's over the map... same story with my current readings.  I tried several different filters without success.  I would like to have relatively stable values for voltage and current so my other values are correct.  Is there a signal conditioner or filter that will help with this?

As always, a point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!

    Thank you!

    Chad

    Hi, Will,

Your request for a screenshot actuall lead me to the solution.  Not enough samples!  I took little data too slowly and only seeing part of the wave of fishing AC each iteration.  .. that became glaring when I tried to this graph.  So I increased my sampling of 100 to 5 Hz and things seem to have settled things down a bit.  Thank you for the good question!

  • Drive LightScribe electric power plug

I n an HP Pavilion Slimline s5122f. My lightscribe drive has stopped working properly. It is impossible to reach the correct rotation speed. I bought a new lightscribe drive to replace it. However, when I opened the box of the new command, I was surprised that the white cube at the entrance in the supply (next to the Sata connectors) cable was not there.

Does anyone know what I mean? Am I supposed to remove the said my current lightscribe drive and drop it on the new drive?

    Please help, thanks.

I'm sorry feel you the way you do and think that I don't understand. However, I completely understand what you're asking, and that's why I asked for full names of brands and model numbers of readers and close-up photos as well.

    Yet once, referring to the guide of HP 'replacement of a CD or DVD disc' for your specific computer, you will notice that "Step 3"shows a picture of the back of a CD/DVD drive with a description of each connector;

1 - eject or control cable (not available for some readers)
    2 - power cable
    3 - data cable

NOTE: Your car may have three or two cables. Ejection or control cable may not be available if the drive does not require cable.

This image is identical to your original factory drive as shown on the "side-by-side photo Note Although on your photo, two readers of CD/DVD 'SATA Data (S1 - S7)' and connectors "SATA Power (P1 - P15). This is all that is required to use the CD/DVD drive. The semi-cable optionally connector 'Eject or control' is used on some HP Slimline models to eject the drawer and is connected to the "Eject" button that is directly under the CD/DVD drive. While it would be nice to keep this feature, it is not necessary and does not support this option in your case not available as long as the new drive.

To eject the tray CD/DVD without the 'Eject', left click the Windows button "Start ORB" at the bottom left of the screen, left click on 'Computer', the 'DVD - DW drive"do a right click and left click"Eject ".

  • New issue of electric power connection

I just replaced my PSU with a coolmax v500 and new connections to the motherboard came with the additional connection 4 pins. The original power supply had not well that the motherboard has 14 pins decision-making

My question is this. Can I plug the 4-pin or leave it disconnected? Currently, I have not plugged and everything works fine.

Thank you in advance for your help!

    HP A63133W

Steve, if you're talking the main ATX power connector, it's 20 pins or 24 pins, like you said.  If it's the 24pin, you would connect the connector 4-pin.  If it's the 20 pin, you don't connect it.

  • Measure the power takes too long

    Hi all

I use Agilent 8163 b with 2 slots: 81619A (2 heads) and 81618 a. (1 head) for power measurements.  I have set up my measurement with driver Setup for the time of Agilent vi to the average duration of 5 seconds.  However, it took total more than 20 seconds to complete the measure of 3 channels using Agilent 816 x reading PMW Value.vi (this VI calls a DLL hp816x_32).

My question is that can I get this measure nearly 5 s with a parallel read 3 channels at the same time?  I.e. the reentrant hp816x_32 DLL?

I tried to have a wiring in parallel of 816 x reading PMW Value.vi to test this, but still get a time of 21 seconds measures.  Anyone have a suggestion to improve this?

    Thank you

    Bryan

I'm not familiar with this specific material. But how much time does it take if you only measure a single channel? If it also takes 20 seconds I guess that the vi is to configure the device whenever it works (it is a painful overload). You can go down to the Basic by using the READ and FETCH commands? for an optimal speed on similar devices (I don't remember too much syntax).

  • NI9225 waveform measurement of network 230VAC

    Hi all

I measure the waveform complete (time of the voltage signal) the local power grid with a voltage of 230V L1 - N with a NI9225 module.
    Peak values (RMS) 230VAC * 1 414 = 325V pic.

    I can't to scale greater than + 300V M.A.X parameters entered.

In the statement indicates that the module can measure 240V electric networks.

Can directly measure the shape of wave or shoul, I use a 01:10 for measures voltage divider?

    Hello

The Corsair CX750 is subject. 8 "longer than your power supply. Open your PC and see if you have enough space between the optical and food drive. It's going to be a very tight fit.  You can remove the front panel and slide the optical drive to the front for ease of installation.

I generally recommend the CX500, or CX600 because they correspond to the physical dimensions of the HP supplies.

  • Satellite A305 - strange problem with power LED

I have the Toshiba Satellite A305-S6825 and I noticed that when I run the laptop on electric power, the battery light (LED) on the front of the laptop is "illuminated".

AC power ligtht is the first light on the left; and law who is the witness bright power switch; and in which law is the "LIGHT of the BATTERY. It is the light, I want to talk to.
I can understand why the light can be WE when I was using the laptop with only the (power) battery in operation. But why the battery led (lit) when I have the laptop plugged into an electrical outlet?

    Is this normal?

When I turn on the computer, after it's off for a while, and it is plugged into an electrical outlet, I see that battery light is kind of purple color, until the battery reaches 100% charge and then it becomes white.

When I put the cursor on the bottom right of the screen battery icon, it reads (after full load): full load 100% current power Plan - balanced.

    Hello

This is nothing unusual. I have another set of Satellite and my battery LED light if the laptop is connected to the power adapter too.
It changes between the function light orange and blue if the battery is fully charged or not.

It seems you ve not laptop wholesale experience here is the led and the LED are very effective and don t waste power as a common light bulb.

  • cFP-PWM-520 drops out after 30 seconds. Power would be bad or controller?

PSC 2110 with PWM - 520 5 s and 3 modules of CFP HAVE completely stopped working.  If I disconnect all the output channels and manually put them in MAX.  However, now I can't even by car out of a PWM, that after providing the voltage for about 30 seconds, all of the channels on this PWM switched off.  Cannot determine if this is the problem with the controller, or perhaps electric power is a failure.  Power supply shows a constant 24 volt.  I can reset the controller and then all 8 channels are specified voltage output for about 30 seconds, then remove from pan.  This system is used for lighting low voltage on a display of aircraft cockpit.  Any help appreciated.

    Hello Patricia:

Updated the current drivers, and question still remained.  I have reformatted the memory on the controller of the CFP, reloaded the drivers and then started with the dip switch 6 on so no vi charge and everything behaves as it should now.  I believe that we can have a power failure or the power peak which occurred near this show, not sure.  But we are on the right track now.  Thanks for your help and your advice.

  • Measurement time 4132 SMU is too high

    Hello

I use PXI - 4132 DC EMS to perform some DC measurements at high speed. I just took a 1 K Ohms resistance, forced 1mA and measure 1V. I have this done configuration and code completed. I get the correct measurements. But my problem is with the measurement time. The total duration is about 45ms to complete installation and measurement, with the exception of the 'initialize and close '.

I checked the time at every step and I noticed that the maximum duration is taken during the "voltage reading. Out of the total 45ms, it takes about 34ms just for a measure. It's just a VI "Ukraine power measure" takes about 34ms, which is ridiculous compared to the Kiethleys. I tried to vary the time of "openness" and turn off the 'Auto Zero'. But the measurement time is still high. Can someone help me and let me know what is the best time of the measurement obtained with 413 x series SME?

    Thank you!

    Hey Phx_tech,

The amount you reduce your delay source depends very much your HAD and how regular you have to your level of tension until you start taking your measurements.  If your Instrument is reactive, you can see discount gas and unintentional ringing during the transition from your output level and therefore would allow enough break-in before taking your measurement. The best thing to do is to experiment with different delays of source and see how much delay need you to get a consistent and reproducible measure. If you have a scope that is available, it will also show you the step response of the SMU with your Instrument.  If your first reading is higher than your other readings, that this could very well be a problem with not enough time settling.  What kind of DUT Testez_ you?

From page 4 of the specification, you can see that 1 PLC, we can expect about 1 ppm RMS noise of the range to 1 PLC. This means in the range 10 au our measurement noise would be 10 pA RMS or 60 pA pk - pk.  However, your DUT + cables will pick up the extra noise and you should consider using wires of twisted shield pair to reduce noise picked up in your system.  The shield can be terminated at the mass of the chassis on the side EMS of the cable to help reduce noise appearing in your measurement.

Let us know what you find after experimenting with you HAD.

    Thank you!

  • T420s that no power on AC power but Powermanagement said current alternative is connected?

Hi, I hope someone can point me in the right direction with a problem I have with my Lenovo laptop.

I have a T420s (Win 7 ultimate) which has stopped working. When it is connected to Acre the led battery on the cover started to blink and stayed on but the battery was not charging, first thought was the known issues with the power manager and the windows, but when I changed the settings in the power manager that it does not have load. When disconecting the battery of the laptop was dead, he would go only with the battery connected, but the strange thing is it said that AC was connected but the system will not work on AC only? I tried a second card (also 65w 20v) but that made no difference. Meanwhile, the battery ran totally empty. Leaving unplugged for a few hours and then connect it to an electrical outlet, it gets power for 2 seconds and then dies again. It looks like a hardware problem? Any suggestions? Thanks for any help!

    Alex

Well after 2 weeks of vacation, leaving the T420s unplugged with the battery I plugged it and it started to load. When it has been completely reloaded I tried starting, did not start, button / stop flashes once and then died. Disconnected and removed the battery, not a discharge of static electricity (power button 10 times, then holdiing for 30 sec) battery, plugged in and it starts!

It works fine now since yesterday.

    Cause?

    Thanks for the tips!

  • HP M9340f and Power Supply Upgrade graphics card

    HP dear community,

I read some of the forums on the upgrade of the 9500gs it's an old graphics used for the HP M9340f. It's been 4 years now and the computer still works very well. I need advice for the upgrade on the graphics card.

    My specs are: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01465973

I know that there a 350W power supply. I am worried because the 9500gs video card has a connector that is powered from the motherboard, it has 2 pins (black and white wire). I read about the update for the ATI HD 5670 Nvidia 440 or 450. I know it is very old, but the 9500gs is still able to run modern games.

The recommendations would work due to the connector 2 pin?

Upgrading power supply help, because I think the video card is to select the power supply to the motherboard and not directly from the power supply.  I'm still confused on what the black and white wire, it is connected to the video card.

I don't mind getting a greater electric power because I can get a better card. Just concerned with the black and white wire.

I also read here that this person was able to exchange his power supply and graphics card for a gtx 560 ti and a 550W power supply. Its model is newer than mine. http://www.tested.com/forums/PC-and-Mac/8692-seeking-upgrading-graphic-cardnew-computer-advise/?&p=1

    I am really limited?

    Thank you

    Abe

    Swarl3s,

    We will divide your questions.

    (1) black/white is audio Spdif. Asus Nvidia supports a S-video port, audio is provided by the additional wiring.

Now that the concern you had as answered (the whitw/black wiring), Let's proceed to the card.

    (2) what are your expectations of game? WOW, Diablo 3. Each has a recommended graphics card and each graphics card recommended the power of the power supply. Always add a tolerance.

Regarding the GTX560Ti and a combination of 550W PSU, I see no problem. Then again, see here for more information and suggestions.
