Elite 8300 SFF: want to Samsung SSD AHCI instead of IDE can change?

Hello

I replaced my HDD with a SSD, and when I run the Samsung software it say I should use AHCI instead of IDE.
I found a place (Storage Options) in the bios where I can choose between IDE, RAID and AHCI.
Is this the right place?

Can I change IDE to AHCI without damaging my installation of the system in other words will my work PC after that I changed without reinstalling?

Records are:

Samsung 250GB SSD 850 EVO

Western Digital green 6 TB

Thanks in advance

Asger

Greetings,

Please download and run Microsoft Fixez_ the foundhere.

Follow the steps.

Restart and change the settings of the BIOS on AHCI before Windows 7 starts.

See you soon!

  • HP Elite 8300 SFF: his low profile card

I have an Elite SFF 8300 and am looking for a card low profile with coaxial output so that I can use it on my sound game of boston that has a coaxial input. I tried without success.

    Thank you

Thank you for the information, @PeterHB.

Here are the system requirements for the card:

    The system configuration required
    • 1.0 GHz Intel / AMD CPU
    • 1 GB OF RAM
    • A free PCIe slot
    • A free location for the digital expansion
    • Internet connection for downloading drivers and software
    • Microsoft Windows XP/Vista/7/8

The card is compatible with Win 7.  However, I have highlighted in orange system requirements you must check to ensure that they are available.  Apart from that, I think that the card should work.  I always offer the check with the Technical Support of the manufacturer is a good choice.  They are the experts on their products.

  • HP Compaq Elite 8300 SFF: Block power Hp Compaq Elite 8300 SFF + graphics upgrade

In my work asked me to provide five computers capable of video editing on Adobe Premiere PRO 5.x. What I have are available 8300's, with an i5 650 and 4 GB of ram.  I'm looking into upgrading to fulfil the task a bit better, but as an NGO, we work with a very small budget, which is why recycled desktop computers.

What I wanted to put in a new graphics card and some more ram, however, it seems that the supplied 240W PSU don't deal with that.

    So my options are:

Run a very low power, small footprint GPU on the original, such as power supply

    http://www.Palit.com/Palit/vgapro.php?id=2392&lang=en&PN=NEAT7200HD46-2080H&tab=SP

    or

    https://www.msi.com/graphics-card/N730K-2GD5LPOCV1.html#hero-specification

It might also be possible to operate a full card large saving in energy and just cut a hole in the lid of the computer, although I've yet to find a good alternative.

Another option, I'm hoping to notice is the upgrade of the PSU itself. In the partsurfer, I find that the SFF-8200 has power 320W, PARTNO 613765-001

Although I don't care there IN the case, I need to make sure it works with the MB. It may be possible to execute it (or another more powerful PSU) as well as a better graphics card.

Thanks for your thoughts and ideas!

The most serious problem is the limited on the slot to power. It's on the SSF 25W.

  • HP Compaq Elite 8300 SFF: Ram additional Elite 8300 SFF

    Hello

I bought a vith PC (sold the first time 2013-02-14) used only 8 GB of Ram (4x2Go), so I would like to replace two of these modules of RAM of 2 GB with two modules of 8 GB but when I read the manual, it says I quote: "to obtain the maximum memory support, you can fill out the card system with up to 16 GB of memory configured in a high-performing mode dual channel."

Gan anyone expose this mean in my case?

    Thanks in advance

    Asger

    You are the very welcome.

The quickspecs are updated when the reference manual was not.

Mine says the same thing... 16 GB max, but the quickspecs update said 32.  No changes to the hardware.

Look at it this way... it would be absolutely no logic that my old Elite 8200 of 2011 model has more capabilities than the 8300 elite memory.

They are like cars... they add more features every year, not less.  The 8300 elite added USB3 ports.  The 8200 Elite has no USB3 ports.  8300 elite turns 3rd generation core processors/memory at 1600 MHz.  The 8200 Elite short 2nd generation core processors/memory at 1333 MHz.

All I can tell you is that it will take 4 x 8 GB memory like mine did.

Just make sure you get compatible PC3-12800 memory.

  • HP Compaq Elite 8300 SFF: RAM upgrade

    Hello!

I tried to replace the 4 GB of RAM, upgrade to 8 GB with a pair of G.Skill. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out as planned, instead, I had a series of beeps and a black screen. RAM details below:

    old RAM: Samsung M378B5273CH0-CK0

    4GB 2Rx8 PC3-12800U-11-10-B0 1.5V

    New RAM: G.SKILL RipJaws X

    F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL

    PC3-12800 4GBx2

    CL9-9-9-24 1.5V

The Rams are not compatible with the system or are there other factors that could have caused it?

    Claude, welcome to the forum.

Here's Maintenance and Service Manual for the computer.  On Page 94, you will find the section of memory for the computer.  Please read it carefully.  What I've read, only seems to me that the new memory is compatible with the motherboard.  I think that the timings are incorrect.

  • HP Compaq Elite 8300 SFF: processor upgrade

    Hello-

I was looking for some assistance or suggestions on upgrading my current image to 8 or 16 cores processor.

Currently installed is an Intel (r) Core i5-3570 CPU @ 3.40 GHz processor. I'm pretty savvy to know how to replace a computer processor, but not savvy enough to know the right type I should use computer.

I tried to upgrade the processor in the past on a previous machine and ended up losing the machine completely - would not start longer with new or previous processor. IN CASE OF FAILURE.

Any ideas of a few processors compatible with my camera? Perhaps Intel or AMD.

    Thank you!

It may be a Core Intel (r) very specific.

  • I want to create a model so that I can change the text using MS word, then merge with my form that I must not create fields every time I have an amendment to a document

I have a complex form of semi involving 30 or text fields, a few drop-down lists, radio buttons. I have Acrobat Pro and MS word (2011).  I create the source with MS Word, then saving them as PDF.  I then open Acrobat Pro and create using the PDF file saved.  Problem is that whenever I have make a change to the source and save as PDF I have to start over the process of "creating" and add all text fields, drop-down menus, radio buttons, etc.  Is it possible to merge or to build a model that covers the Acrobat Pro established fields on my PDF evolving?

by opening the original form using Acrobat Pro.  By using the function 'replace' in the pages, you can remove the old source and replace it with a new one.  Save the file, and then close.  Reopen the case and chose to create.  You can then change the fields if move you the source.  Kludgy, but it worked.

I don't know why HP (system won't let me use the exact name) don't allow me to choose a 500 GB SSD or I can't get one on a special order? HP makes different models to give everyone something they can afford.  Therefore, they use the limited options in each model.  I contacted HP Store and they said that you can order what is offered.  I agree with you wanting a larger SSD.

If I can't get it through HP difficult would it be to buy an SSD 500 GB and that someone else remove the SSHD and install the SSD? No idea how much it would cost?  I suggest that you purchase the SSD drive and check locally with a qualified computer store to see what they allow you to install it would charge.  You can buy a Samsung EVO 840 500 GB for $249 on Amazon.  I have one and they are very fast.

Is it useful to go through the trouble of having an SSD?  Absolutely!  I have a laptop game Omen HP with a 256 GB SSD.  It starts in less than 7 seconds and loads of programs in record time.

  • T7500 and Samsung SSD evo 840: AHCI is not enabled!

    Hello

I have just pluged a Samsung SSD 840 evo on a T7500 (the sata plug 0 of the motherboard) and did a fresh install of Windows 7 64-bit.
Everything seems fine, that I can write this post on my PC upgraded, but I'm a little frustrated, as Samsung magician, SSD supplied management software, tells me that the AHCI is not enabled, and "it is impossible to detect the SATA interface. Therefore, I will not have the installation of the SSD... I checked the windows regestry and key "msahci' as the value 0 for 'start', which seems OK.

I missed something? Any help would be much apreciated!

    Hi Agaillot,

You should be able to see the controller mode in the Intel RST utility, including the speed of the port. What do you see here?

  • Elite 8300, re - install windows 7 problem on new drive

    Hi all

I juist bought a number of the PC Elite 8300. I want to install an SSD of replacement instead of the player that comes with the unit.

I can happily re - install windows, but it won't catch the key of windows since the bios and not asking the license key during the installation is complete.

I use a windows 7 Professional dvd. I even tried restoring factory DVD but they complain that the disk is smaller than the original.

    Thank you

    Hello:

The key in the BIOS is only good for W8.

You need a product key of Windows 7 to install W7.

If your PC came with the W8 Pro (which no doubt), you do not have the rights to downgrade, but you'll have to contact HP support for sorting.

I don't know what to tell you.

Basically, they have to provide you with a W7 product key in order to install W7 Pro.

Recovery disks only works on the same hard disk of size (or more) like the one provided with your PC.

  • HP Windows 8 downgrade Win 7 HP 8300 SFF - No. Win 7 OEM sticker.

    Hello

We bought 2 x HP 8300 Mini PC with pre-installed Windows 8.  It came with Windows 7 recovery discs, so I could load Windows 7, which means that he is allowed to do this.  However, we have our own image of Windows 7 customized for the PC and I would like to continue using it.  The problem, however, is the new PC does not come with Windows OEM license keys, they have only a Windows 8 logo on the side.

Is it possible that I can find Win 7 license?  We are looking to buy another 30 jobs in the coming months, and I don't want to run on each of them individually.

    Thank you

    Luke

    Luke,

With the introduction of Windows 8, Microsoft requires major OEM computer manufacturers to incorporate the window product key in the BIOS. These computers are no longer come with a certificate of Authenticity affixed containing the product key.

It is a forum of HP consumer products and as HP Compaq Elite 8300 business computer is a class computer business, you can ask your question in the HP Enterprise Business Community. You can also contact the HP Business Support Center.

    By the way HP 8300 SFF computers come with Windows 7 recovery disc can allow you to use the HP OEM preactivation product key and the OEM HP certificate. If the recovery discs are the same version as your "custom"... image IE "If your image is Win7 Pro, the recovery disks should also be Win7 Pro"... you can try to use the procedure I posted below;

    (1) download and unzip ABR Beta with Windows 7 Support. This is the homepage of ABR for Windows Vista. Please follow the section "How to use" for information and instructions on how to use it. These steps also apply to Windows 7. Perform the 'activation' on each computer backup and back up the certificate and the key has been recovered in separate places for comparison. (He draws the original key HP preinstalled OEM factory and certificate from your factory installed OS OEM) Compare the keys and certificates for each computer, they are all the same? Please report back with your findings.

    (2) download and use RWEverything to determine the version of the OA/SLP/SLIC in BIOS of the computer. See this page of Web MyDitigalLife titled "How to check or verify PC motherboard BIOS SLIC Version is SLP OA 2.0 or 2.1 for OEM Activation" for more information on how to use and decipher the information. (Windows 8 use OA 3.0 and this is where the problem can happen) Please report back with your findings.

    (3) If you do not already have a copy, download your version (the version that was preinstalled on your HP computer) Windows 7 from Official Windows 7 SP1 ISO from Digital River. Using the built-in Windows 7 CD/DVD burning software, burn downloaded Windows 7 ISO on a DVD.

    (4) install Windows 7 from your new disk 'Windows 7' or your image by following all prompts as needed. Don't let not Windows try to scoped. Run ABR 'restoration of activation' to 'install' the previously saved until the product key and the certificate. Make sure that Windows is activated, repeat "restoration of activation" until Windows 7 is activated. (It "installs" pre-installed HP OEM factory original key and certificate from your factory installed OS to your new installation of Windows. This HP OEM key and the OEM HP certificate, as well as the BIOS is what allows your computer to HP be factory preactivated.)

    (5) install all drivers from the computer. These can be found on the support page HP for your computer, or you can find newer drivers on the various websites of the manufacturers of component... Intel, NVidia, AMD/ATI, Ralink, Realtek, etc..

    (6) image of the Windows installation and deploy it to the remaining computers.

    Please send Bravo

  • SAMSUNG SSD 850 helps Pro

    Hello

I recently bought and installed the Samsung SSD 256 GB 850 Pro in my mid-2012 13 "MacBook Pro.  Everything seems to work very well; However, when I run the speed test of black magic, I get only between 30-100 read and write speed of 100-250.

The way I installed it was:

    -Deletion of original HD

    -SSD installed

    -Connected via sata/usb HD

-Started and press command and R

-Utility disk-> Erase--> Mac OS Extended journaled

    -Reinstalled Mac OS X

    -Migration wizard

I am fully able to use my computer as before but I thought I'd get up to 500 MB/s for each.

Is there something I can do to get the maximum speed where they should be?

    Thank you

    Hi Vanderveenc:

You have activated TRIM? You run El Capitan and supports the TRIM.

    Gasket performance aid.

Read the following article. n-SSDS-explained-an-SSD-primer/ http://www.thessdreview.com/Daily-News/latest-Buzz/garbage-collection-and-Trim-i

It is also very important to have 10% of your free SSD for the garbage collection.

To activate the TRIM, first save all your open documents as this will restart your Mac.

    (1) launch the Terminal.

    (2) type 'sudo trimforce enable '.

    (3) confirm that you want to activate the trim.

    (4) restart your Mac.

To check the TRIM is enabled, click the Apple icon at the top left of your screen. Choose "about this Mac"-> 'System report'-> ' SATA/SATA Express' and look for the entry 'Support of Trim. It should say 'yes' if the pad has been activated.

  • ZBook 15u G2: is it possible to upgrade the G2 Zbook 15u from the 500 GB Samsung SSD 850 evo 500 GB SATA HARD disk?

Turns out that the hard drive that I got this laptop when I bought it is not really meet my needs, and I'm looking to upgrade. I looked around, and the EVO of 850 SSD Samsung 500 GB seems a good choice for what I'm looking for.

I just wanted to check if my cell phone is compatible with this ssd. My initial assumption is 'yes' but before I drop money I wanted to confirm this. For reference, I went to the start with the 500 GB SATA hard drive, and I'm looking to upgrade the 500 GB Samsung ssd 850 evo.

I can provide the SN of my laptop for reference, if needed.

    Hello

The simple answer is Yes you can. You can use a standard SSD 2.5 "to replace the current HARD drive. And the Samsung is a good choice.

    Kind regards.
