Hello

Looks like there is an ultra low-voltage CPU. This means that the CPU is soldered to the motherboard and cannot be replaced. The only option here is to replace the whole motherboard. However, I don't think that this kind of upgrade will be sentencing because the jury with a Core i7 processor will not give you a lot of power for the money.

Your PC has an AMD FM2 + APU installed in the FM2 socket + on the motherboard of your PC.

You can only change an AMD FM2 + APU

The FM2 + compatible processors are listed on this link from HP. See the section upgrade processor.

  • Upgrading processors N100 0689-29U

I've seen several posts on upgrades of the processor for the N100 and I wondered if they work for all types of N100 laptops.

Mine is a type of N100 0689-29U that currently has an Intel Centrino Duo T2300 (1.66 GHz). I would like to move to something of 2 GHz or more if possible. I am running 2 GB of RAM, which was the max Lenovo said that will support the machine.

The reason for my upgrade is an attempt to accelerate a fire modeling program that I am running. Is it a upgrade processor speed up my computing power or would I waste my money?

    Thank you.

You have the format socket M, which are compatible with the following types of CPU.

    Intel Core Solo
    Intel Core Duo
    Intel Core 2 Duo (T5x00, T7x00)
    Intel Celeron M

However, there is a limited support for the version chip Socket M Core 2 Duo T7x00, a bios flash may be needed to do their jobs, but most of these Core 2 Duo chips are quite expensive.

CPU represents that part of the bottleneck of performance in a laptop, there is also the factor of GPU, ram, optimization of the software and hard disk file fragmentation.

If you're going to get a CPU, you should consider the T7x00 series, however, they run a tad warmer that CPU you have now.

But rather than make an upgrade with your laptop, I probably just save money and get a half decent job for modeling programs.

  • Upgrading processors EliteBook?

    Hey guys' no lags.

    I recently bought a 8770p Elitebook.

    Specifications are

Chipset mobile Intel QM57 Express, 4 GB RAM, 500 gb HDD, i7 840QM clocked at 1.73 ghz, Intel HD Graphics (GMA) with Nvidia MVS 3100 M.

Here my question, I want to be able to play better games on this subject, because the processor is not enough powerful im all for the upgrade it but the graphics car is low incredilbly and is integrated (unfortunately). I was able to upgrade the processor and get a more powerful integrated graphics with her card, or am I stuck with it? The RAM can be upgraded to 8 GB so some decent graphics and that would be really sweet. Im not talking bf4 on ultra chart either, just good enough to play some mid level games as Outlast and Dayz.

    Thank you!

    He is a 8440p... 14-inch screen.

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

You already have the top processor and the laptop can come as a discrete or UMA. There is also a workstation with a slightly more powerful graphics card version. See Page 4-50. None has an MXM video card slot. You could theoretically install the card mother 8440w and have a 512 meg graphics card, Nvidia N10M-GLM, but if you already have the nVidia graphics, the difference between the discreet 8440p and the graphic workstation is negligible. These video cards are for works of civil engineering such as CAD and design in 3D and not for games even if they will be better than an Intel HD3000 game of course. I can't find the motherboard of 8440w on HP site or eBay but much advice discrete 8440p is available on eBay. If you actually have the UMA (Intel only) then your only way to improve video performance is to buy and install the motherboard dedicated graphics processor.

There is info on the graphics card from nVidia available on 8440 series:

    http://www.nvidia.com/object/product_quadro_fx_380_m_us.html

    http://www.notebookcheck.NET/NVIDIA-Quadro-FX-380M.24737.0.html

This is an entry level graphics card workstation. What they correspond to the Geforce 310 M, which is at the level of the very bottom of the discrete video cards. This article (above) indicates that the drivers used for the use of the workstation could actually hamper performance of game, so you can see if you can get a consumer game driver type to work for you.

  • P6616F: PC will not boot after upgrading processor

I did some research which processor is compatible with my pc. I have a HP P6616F, AMD Phenom X 4 820 2.8 Ghz currently. I bought the FX6 AMD core 3.5 GHz.

Once installed, I turn on my pc, but see that the fan turns my screen stays on the mode 'sleep'. I have re installed my old processor and the computer works normally.

I checked for update of the bios and there seems to be none.

Any help to what I'm doing wrong?

For most things, there are not many benefits beyond 4 cores. An exception would be Adobe Photoshop and some programs that can benefit as many hearts you can give high-end video editing. For the most part, a 4 core 2.8 ghz processor is going to be as good as a 6 core 2.8 ghz processor. If there is a Phenom II, which is more than say 3.2 GHz, it might be worth it just for the increased clock speed.

  • Portege R500 - Upgrade processor and RAM

Can I put in my proceror R500 and RAM?
Is possible? If Yes, how can you procesor I used?

    Robert

    Hello

    You can upgrade the RAM.
You can use the DDR2 667 MHz (PC2-5300) or 533 MHz 200 - PIN SODIMM modules.
You can use a 1 GB RAM module this is the max!
There is also an internal RAM which can be removed if only one slot is expandable!

With regard to upgrading the CPU.
Usually it s not advised to replace/upgrade of the processor because the BIOS has not been tested with other processors

  • Portege A100 - possible to upgrade processor?

Is Hey, also possible to upgrade the current 1.4 ghz processor to a much larger processor, such as a 3 ghz processor? If Yes can - that someone recommend where I could buy a chip... and I need a toshiba technician to fit?

    Daniel

    Hello

Portege A100 is a tiny unit and the increase in the temperature and the cooling of the processor is very difficult on this laptop.
The biggest CPU will produce more heat, and this could lead to overheating problems.

I put t think it's possible to upgrade the processor to 3 GHz.
In any case, in most cases it of not possible to upgrade the processor and not advised to do on laptops.
Maybe you'll be able to install a stronger CPU 1.4 Ghz, but you're not sure that the OS will be stable after upgrade

PS: You will lose the warranty if you open the Notepad or remove all the parts inside the laptop

  • Upgrading processor

    Hello

I am upgrading a desktop computer Pavilion Elite m9170a

My computer motherboard supports the following processor upgrades according to HP customer support sites:

    Intel Core 2 Quad (Y) Q9xxxx

    Intel Core 2 Duo (W) E8xxx

Intel Core 2 Quad (K) up to Q6600

    Core 2 Duo E6x00 (C) until E6700

    Core 2 Duo E4x00 (C) until E4400

Can anyone tell my which is one that should be in the list above?

    Thank you

    Hi, Hellmut:

Is attached a comparison side by side 2 processors:

    http://Ark.Intel.com/compare/27251, 30781

You get about 400 MHz speed more, double the cache memory L2, and 266 Mhz FSB more speed above your current.

I see used them and working for $70.00 on eBay, buy it now.

For $70, I could do the upgrade. If you can find one for less, I would without a doubt.

Make sure that you get the right processor E6700. You want the 2.66 (Conroe), not the 3.20 (Wolfdale) one.
