    Hello

Looks like you can connect to the internet properly
So it s not a problem with an internet connection, but with your AOL account.

I m not very well why you can't access the email account but I m sure that it s is not a problem of laptop.
You said that you can access the email on another computer under Win XP.
    The A200 using Vista.

In my opinion, there could be a problem with the AOL software probably it s not fully compatible with Vista

  • Lost password and no email access

Hi, since I formatted my laptop I was not able to connect to my Skype account (it automatically connected to Skype because it remember my password).

Now, I can't retrieve my password since I don't have access to the email associated with my Skype account. It was an old email that I have not used for a long time and now the army has stopped the mail server for good.

So basically, what I have is my user name, any idea on what could be my password. HOWEVER, I tried every possible combination I use in general so I guess the password has somehow been reset (I probably did long since I was struggeling with this problem for some time now).

Is there a way to recover my password? I have the own account and thus have all kinds of information on the use of it.

    I hope you can help.

  • Wired Internet access problem

Sorry for the long post, but I want to give you all the information possible to help me.

I play for my father guy remote tech support, but my credentials in the field of networking are rather weak, so I need help.

My father recently interrupted an update of Windows on his laptop computer. (He thought the computer was off, but instead the screen had just blanked, and when he thought he was turning on the computer, it is in fact the computer off during the update).

Since this event, his cell phone was not able to connect to the internet with a wired or wireless connection.

When it is connected directly to the DSL modem and it brings up the internet browser, it get an error "cannot display web page". In response to the offer of the IE to diagnose the connection problem, he diagnosed the problem and it is usually said that it only is not an IP address. Another time, he suggested that he 'cycle' his modem and router.

It would be the right information to take at face value except... the wired connection was taken directly from his desktop... that connects successfully to the internet. For example, it can surf the internet from her desktop computer, but when he takes the ethernet cable from the desktop computer and plug it on the laptop, it cannot access the internet.

So - at least seems to me-there is really no problem with the modem or the ISP he uses (the modem is an ACTIONTEC, which also has wireless capability).

I think that there is a problem with his laptop, perhaps with network components. Maybe they need to be replaced? But I'm not an expert and I do not know how to try this.

I asked him to do an IPCONFIG/all in a command window, and it is (approximately) that he comes back (he read the results for me on the phone):

    Windows IP configuration

    Name of the host...: MY_LAPTOP
    Primary Dns suffix...:

    Active... IP routing: Yes

    Autoconfiguration IP 169.254.226.11
    ... Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0.
    ... Default gateway. :

Looks like he gets an IP address... so what could be the problem?

Can someone help me fix his laptop computer connection, either by telling me how to reinstall the network components or even helping me diagnose the connection problem?

My father lives miles away from me, if it's a little hard to do it remotely.

    Thanks for any help.

Problems caused by a Windows Update break are probably better asked in the Windows Update forum, but I can suggest a few things, account required to the information you provided.

Error messages are received? If so, give them in its entirety, without paraphrasing.
Check the event viewer (start > run > eventvwr > OK) for the recent error messages (no need to go far back in time).  Double-click any line in the observer of events that shows and error to open the 'Properties' window for more details

Event Viewer messages can be copied to the Clipboard (and then pasted into a response by email or forum) by clicking on the copy icon (below arrows up/down) on the property page.

What version of Windows (right click on my computer > properties)?

According to the reported data, the computer seems to have a wireless connection with success, but the lack of a default gateway is suspect, as is the 'no' beside "DHCP enabled".  I suspect, as Saurabh Joshi apparently already done, that the wireless card has been configured manually (for example, a static IP address).  In any case, you don't even mention the existence of a wireless network.

Information for the Ethernet (wired) connection certainly shows a failure to get an IP address from the router.

Try to deal with network problems 3rd hand is really shooting in the dark, but while you wait for an answer on the forum of Windows Update, the following steps should not hurt and may in fact make things.

    1 reset TCP/IP (see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/299357)

Open a command prompt window (start > run > cmd > OK)
In the black command prompt window, type the following line and press enter
    netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt
Then close the command prompt window

    2 reset Winsock (see http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811259)

Open a command prompt window (start > run > cmd > OK)
In the black command prompt window, type the following line and press enter
    netsh winsock reset
Then close the command prompt window

    3. restart the computer and see if connection has changed.

You can also check the network by Hans - Georg Michna MVP MS Windows problem solver: http://winhlp.com/wxnet.htm you'll probably fill on your computer with your father on the phone in front of his computer.

  • Actions through OpenVPN access problems

    Hello!

If you are installing the client OpenVPN for Windows XP (regardless of the MS level) and it connects to the OpenVPN server can (sometimes after a reboot, sometimes right away) the other machine on the other end cannot access Windows XP actions if the connection machine a NetBIOS over TCP/IP (port 139) disabled. The error message is 'no network couldn't take the provided network path."

Œuvres ping and all the firewall is turned off. Sniff the OpenVPN adapter reveals that XP meets port 445 with a RST packet (also called connection refused).

OpenVPN adapter uncheck file service and print server and double check that it makes it work (i.e. XP starts normally answer on port 445 on OpenVPN adapter too). The print spooler service must be restarted too. But this only lasts until the next computer restart.

This would imply that the file and printer sharing service is not related to OpenVPN adapter but netstat - aon | find ": 445 ' watch 0.0.0.0:445 is correctly bound to the process of the system 4.

No, I was thinking about interfaces that sort of "aren't always there.

But it was a false idea, interface TAP * is * always there - which of
controlled application is if she is 'connected to an ethernet cable.
(virtual, of course) all the time, or only if openvpn, it says so.

I thought about it... just go into the drive you want to share, click share... click Permissions... add... click click on advanced... click on advanced search now... Select ANONYMOUS LOGON, and then click OK. You will probably even if connect to it using the format "\\192.168.0.1\a", but it works.
  • employee email access?

    Hello

My client needs to access the email of an employee who will be leaving the company (unbeknownst to the employee).

Password recovery goes to the employee's secondary e-mail address. So I can't change the password to access

without him knowing or being involved.

Is it possible to have access to corporate email account?

    Thank you

    Tricia

It would be a massive security problem if you could do that Tricia so naturally your not able to. You would have to speak to press on the change of the email and see if they can send the password reset to that, but I guess they needed some checks for this.

  • El Capitan e-mail, a lot of problems. Yosemite no email no problems.

E-mail from Apple on the new MacBook Pro 15 "was so buggy, it is almost impossible to use.

Most of the time my 3 email accounts are offline. I can get them online if usually 7 to 10 minutes. If the Mac goes to sleep or I leave him unattended for awhile I'll find my email accounts are offline. When the accounts are online, I'm still barely getting emails because they are sent to me, generally, hours later or the next day!

Setting up a new e-mail account, 100% of the time it is an error (unable to connect to the server). I have to wait 24 hours before an e-mail account works.

I run my old MacBook Pro along the side of my new Macbook Pro, so I can have reliable e-mail. On two Macs email accounts are set up as close as possible to each other. I tried every step that I could find online, however the e-mail problems remain problems.

    I am using IMAP.

Any suggestions on how to fix the issues e-mail El Capitan, or recommendations for other email applications?

    Christo

    Hello

In your e-mail application problems are not caused by bugs. I have - and tens of thousands of others - use 3 + accounts under El Capitan, and experience no problems.

The most likely cause is a setting of mail account that need to be changed from when you were using OS X Yosemite. Please, try the following:

Open your e-mail application and find the menu: ' Mail > Preferences ' , then the [accounts] - tab. This is your e-mail accounts.

Click on the tab called [Advanced] and uncheck this option (as appropriate for the types of accounts you use):

    - automatically detect and manage account settings

Then, in the same window, go ahead and check the box:

    -allow insecure authentication

Repeat this operation for all your accounts. When you're finished, close the preferences window and choose to save the changes you made.

Then, look for the menu: ' display > connection doctor ' you will be presented with a window listing all e-mail servers configured in your email application. If you have any servers SMTP-type with a red connection leads, double-click on this server and another settings window opens.

Here you have another opportunity to uncheck:

-automatically detect and manage account settings

    and check:

    -allow insecure authentication

Repeat this step to save them all - SMTP servers that you use, the changes each time.

Restart the OS X via: '  > restart " and let us know if this solved your problems.

  • Email recovery problems

    Hello

My friend and I bought a laptop Toshiba TecraA9 flea market and we both have the same problem.

When you want to receive our email on your pc - from our supplier - very often we get a message that there is no link!

We also use poppeeper to retrieve our messages from hotmail and the provider. For hotmail, everything is ok, but for the vendor accounts most of the time we get the connection error message.

Using the browser is not a problem. Someone told us to reinstall the latest version of the driver-lan and first uninstall the old.

I tried this but the uninstall does not work so I just installed a new on top, but nothing has changed - we always get the same problem.

    What I've done wrong?

We have all two windows xp installed on our tecraA9.

I hope someone can help us, because this is a very annoying problem!

    Thanks a lot beforehand.

    Paula

    Hello, Paula

Please do not be angry on me, but I think that this problem is not related to your Toshiba laptop. If your laptop works well and you can connect to the Internet there is the end of the story.
If you have serious problems with the hardware or software pre-installed, then you are here on the right place.

We do not know what type of connectivity you use, who is your internet provider?
These technical problems with the e-mails you must clarify with the internet or service provider that you use.

I have some problems with the computer at the laboratory of computer science at the school.
I had fixed the elimination of the problems of the range with starting pc mode vga but how to solve this problem, so it can boot normally without pressing f8?
After that I had signed, I can't access the internet even if the parameters are normal and the other computers connect to the internet.
    Please fix this!

    Hello

1 did you do changes on the computer before the show?

    2. What is the full error message that you receive on out of range problems?

    Method 1:

    See the site:

Windows wireless and wired network connection problems

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/help/wired-and-wireless-network-connection-problems-in-Windows

Run the fixit in normal mode and check.

    Method 2:

Check if the problem persists in safe mode with network. If the problem does not persist in SafeMode with network check if the problem persists in the boot.

Step 1: Safe Mode with networking

Networking in safe mode starts Windows with a limited set of files and drivers. Startup programs do not work in safe mode, and only the basic drivers needed to start Windows are installed.

    See the site:

To start the computer in safe mode

  • URGENT! -FILES-ACCESS PROBLEM!

Hiyall! S ' Please help if you can...

-URGENT ACCESS to the FILE PROBLEM !!! :

    Heres my PC info:

-Operating system: Windows XP/Service Pack 3

    -Browser: Firefox/version 3.6.13 (latest version)

-Current photo editing software: www.paint.net (similar to Microsoft Paint )

    -Image main edition format: BMP

I have a personal collection of 10 years ofhundreds of FOLDERS containingthousands of FILES to image BMP image. Even if there are years that I had named FOLDERS and FILES with necessarily long names, I was still able to immediately Open ,view , and modify one of these years (and that icontinually still need to do).

Many of these FILES are images of old vintagemagazine covers (FILE FOLDERand appoints State the title of theperiodical and Publisher), while many other arenecessarily the names of the descriptive RECORD of the domestic magazine images .

Here is an example of 31 characters in a FOLDER name ofmagazine cover :

    Sunrisers - Sun editions

    PROBLEM URGENT:

For a long time, I could immediatelyOpen , view , and Edit ALL of these FOLDERS and FILES (which I need constantly to be done),, but now...

    - If the FOLDER name is 15 characters , when Left clicked, the FILE isNOT open!

    - If the FILE name is more than 22 characters long , the image doesNOT open for preview ("preview " is then missing from the menu drop-down "), or for editing!

IMPORTANT NOTE: Because a lot of these FILE names arenecessarily the titles of journals (and the names of the publishers) descriptive ornecessarily for other image FILES, I canNOT shorten these important names of FOLDERS and FILES!

QUESTION: Why I was able to open instantly, view and modify any these long name and FILESbefore , but NOT now ?

QUESTION: What can I do (or re - set in the FILES Windows system ) so that I can stillOpen , view , and modify these FILES and FOLDERS?

It is difficult to say with certainty, but the only limitation of size of Windows I know with the file/folder names is the full path name cannot exceed 255 characters.  This means that the full path to your file or directory (as in "C:\Documents and Settings\Alexander\My Documents\magazines\ [...]" "") cannot exceed 255 - ish characters total.  If this is your problem, you can work with this is to move your files more closely to the c:\ root directory.  Another is to deal with it to bring up a command prompt window (start-> Run-> "cmd") and use the command SUBST:
    SUBST S: "C:\Documents and Settings\Alexander\My Documents\magazines"
.. who will create a "S" disk that starts at the level of the "magazines" folder so you can access files by using your "S:" designation to drive and save a lot of characters in the path/name of the global file.

That said, it is always possible that your application has put yet more restrictive lengths on the names of files/folders.  In this case, it is out of scope for this forum and you will have to contact the author of this program or to set up a different photo editing program.

  • IDE hard drive into a portable speaker access problem.

I got your desktop who died (power is not a replacement value).  I removed the two hard drives (IDE) and bought pens for use as portable hard drives.  I have not had any problems at all with the 'second' hard disk that I had originally put in place as a backup of data - music, photos, etc.  The problem I have is trying to access the old 'C' drive like a laptop.  I was hoping I could at least reformat and use it as additional storage.  I tried every possible rider but still cannot access this drive from my Vista laptop or my desktop XP.  The disc spins and it is "kind of recognized" by the host computer, but when I try to right click on it in "my computer" everything freezes.  I can still access it through the BACK.  I guess it has something to do with the fact that there is an operating system on the drive, but I was hoping that I could at least go enough to wipe.  Another strange thing is that when it is displayed in 'My computer' it appears as two disks-(that is to say E, F, or similar)

I could solve this problem.  Using disk management, I was able to reformat the drive, leaving a small 4 GB EISA partition, which I was able to remove by using DISKPART.  In retrospect, it is more work that it was worth for a small car, but I now have a 120 GB drive laptop that I can use for storage of photos or other.
