  • BlackBerry Smartphones new country, new carrier... No new index of email account?

    Hello

I just moved to the United States of the Canada and I have a new blackberry curve 8330 on Verizon that takes the place of my somewhat new curve 8320 Rogers.

When I'm the new bb and the service, I created a new e-mail account @vzw.blackberry.net.

I have everything set up and went through the process of 'Switch devices' through the Desktop Manager to push my contacts and data and other files. When it was over, my old e-mail address of @rogers.blackberry.net was (and still is, to my dismay) appears as an account on the new Verizon curve and the new address @vzw.blackberry.net is not found. When I log in the Verizon BIS, I can see the e-mail account, so I know that it is put in place. I also added pine and the MEID in the box 'Change device' to make sure that it has been set correctly. Finally, I removed the battery, waited a few minutes and then put again to force a hard reboot. No dice.

    What Miss me? Suggestions?

The blackberry app world icon disappeared from my home screen, I tried to download app world once again, but no icon appeared, someone at - it solutions?

First of all, make sure that the icon is not hidden.  While on your home screen, press the menu key and select Show all or show all if one is available.  If that isn't find it, go to your Applications list to see if it is on your phone.  You can find that by going to your home screen in Options > device > application and pick up there.  If it's there, highlight it with your mouse, press the menu key and select Remove.  Once you have done this, from the browser on your phone, go to www.blackberry.com/appworld to redownload.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones new 9320 battery

Can someone help me with my BlackBerry smartphone! < br > < br > 4 days ago, I went into a store and joined promo called "Swap and Switch BlackBerry. I swapped my old BlackBerry to a new curve 9320/7.1.0.398 (B1319) basically, I live in the Philippines and my carrier is Globe telecom. And for some reason, my battery does not work to my expectation, I need to load 2 - 3 times a day even though I'm not a heavy user. I get 3 emails per day, no call, I have BBM, I receive text messages but I don't answer, I have facebook but not twitter, I play from time to time the music and SURFs the internet. but it goes too fast for me. Believe me, I did save all tricks I could stack, but nothing seems to work. < br > < br > I regularly check my CPU usage, but no application seems to run in the background, even did some research on how to properly load a Li-ion battery, but my battery drain is still at 11-12%/hr. • Storage of applications for blackBerry Smartphones

Hey everyone... I use my 9790 bold, he repeats to me my memory to applications is 512 MB internal memory of the phone's 8 GB! So is there anyway to increase this limited storage for applications? In addition, this space does not increase if I use an external MicroSD memory?

    Hello...

There are three types of potential memory on a BB: 1) application memory, the device memory) 2 and 3) Media/SD Card Memory.

Application memory - it is the most important; It is protected (not available to the user), dedicated and fixed (size: 512 MB in your case) space that is available to the House of the OS itself, as the destination for the installation of applications (more a few storage applications, overhead and other costs). You can't touch AppMemory. You cannot improve the maximum AppMemory that your BB has. It is what it is. Applications can install only here... There is no other choice.

The device memory - it is space on your BB you can touch these files, images, media, etc. In general, it is not very big, but it is available.

Memory card SD/Media- is what it says... your SD card to store files, media, photos, etc.. It can be as large as your BB OS can support... see this KB:

    • KB05461 Sizes of card MicroSD taken in charge by the BlackBerry device software

On some devices/OS levels, you can see 'Free file' (Options > status), I think this is equivalent to AppMemory. You can see on other devices, all the memory usage levels three (Options > memory). Here are some tips to use:

    • KB02843 What is the function of low memory manager on the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB14320 How to maximize space and power battery life on the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB14213 Call logs, SMS text and email messages are deleted from the BlackBerry smartphone

Finally, it is always important to correctly close applications when you are finished with them. Using the back or on the red button won't do that - those leave the app to decide what to do... and some let themselves memory-resident, consumes resources on your BB, slowing down the overall performance. On the contrary, to close an application, tap on and select 'Close' or 'Quit'... which force the application to be closed, freeing resources for your new use it consumed. Some applications will always be running (in general - BBMessenger, browser, homescreen, phone and Messages)... but, you should always close them properly - especially the browser... If we leave on a web page, it will not consume only additional resources, but the power of the battery as well.

In addition, each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes. See if things return to functioning. Like all computing devices, BB suffers from memory leaks and others... with a hard reboot is the best remedy. Some have taken to do this on a regular basis as a preventive measure... some as often as once a day. Others got the app QuickPull to automate a simulated Batt Pull.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones New Blackberry Curve 8520 - configuration of e-mail and network problems

Hello! My friend bought a new Blackberry Curve 8520. It is based in South Africa. She is facing 2 problems: 1. in the corner right gprs/edge is displayed in small fonts, and she is not able to use the inernet for applications. The phone was for 30 hours, and he still has not changed. 2. When you complete the setup of e-mail, it is only given the option to select a professional e-mail address, and there is no option to add a personal e-mail address. Help, please! I made a move on the phone and also reset, but the problem persists.

Do you have a data Plan BlackBerry enabled on your account with your carrier or mobile provider?

You have to, to get the push RIM email functions you are looking for, as well as services of BlackBerry data such as the Web browser, Facebook for BlackBerry, BlackBerry Messenger and much more.

Then call your carrier and you learn about to have added to your account BlackBerry data Plan.

    Good luck.

Hello and welcome to the community!

I recommend that you try to start safe mode:

    • KB17877 How to start a smartphone BlackBerry in Mode safe

It will take several attempts to get the combination of keys ESC (press/release/hold) OK, so be patient. When properly in Safe Mode, see what happens.

If the behavior continues, then well... think what happened just before this behavior started? A new application? An update? A theme? Something else? Think carefully that the slightest change can be causal... and try to undo all that was.

But if the behavior continues mode without failure, you may need to consider more drastic measures - WIPE, OS Reload, BBSAK Wipe/Reload and the process of reloading OS 'skeleton '. To prepare, you should be sure that you have a full backup of your PC... Please see the Backup link in my sig auto on this post for instructions.

  • Error App Myspace for blackBerry Smartphones

I have the Curve 8330 with Alltel. This issue just started to happen out of nowhere. When I go to the Myspace App I get this error "there was a communication error with Myspace. I am still able to update my status & mood, but nothing else works. All other screens just constantly "loading". And my friends on the homepage says 'loading' status. However I can check the updates successfully.

I wonder if there is a problem with my myspace account because when I login under someone elses name I don't have this problem. But I can not yet know what is the cause. I registered my e-mail address with my phone to see if that had something to do with it, but I still had the issue...

    I tried the following:

1 uninstall & reinstall the application. However when I reinstall somewhere, I'm automatically reconnected. It is not clear the previous memory of the Myspace app. How would I fix this?

2 return Service directories. However the service book Myspace does not appear in the list of service books.

    3. traction battery

4 connection under someone elses name. Everything works well for them. It gives me this message "receipt notifications Myspace, your Myspace login email address must be associated with your smart phone BlackBerry." I click on continue & loads of everything very well.

5 wipe clean & reinstall 4.5 did not help.

    Thank you

    Welcme to Frums

I think that this may be a myspace for blackberry case. I had the same problem periodically.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones new BB 8110 battery problem

I want to know what is the General battery upward?  How to improve the performance of the battery?

If I put in stand by mode, will receive calls and SMS?

    Any help on this?

Here's some good advice from loading, please read and you will see that many of them will be applicable to you.

A good battery saving technical is to use the magnet for BlackBerry case, it puts the unit in standby, saves battery and allows you to receive calls, emails, etc., without the unit being turned off.

  • Applications for blackBerry Smartphones does not

I've been upgraded to version 6 on my 9300 curve but when I downloaded a few applications, they do not work.

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

A little sparse on the details... "they don't work" could mean that they launch, they communicate, or a myriad of other possible symptoms. Accurate description of what you're trying and that happens helps us not to guess.

But, since you have left to guess, I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2, each should result in a message to your BB to come...) Please wait for this before moving on to the next step):

    (1) registry HRT

    • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with wireless network

    (2) remove and return Service directories

    • KB05000 Remove the maintenance book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account in the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB02830 Send the directories for the BlackBerry Internet Service

    (3) restart to take batt

    • Each time a random strange behavior or slow creeps, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot.

I hope that will move things again for you! Good luck and let us know!
