Emails from Windows Mail (only those!) incorrect impression

It is on behalf of my mother, who I'm helping remote...

She just bought and installed an HP Officejet 6500 Wireless all-in-one all in one printer to use with his laptop, running Windows Vista. Apparently everything is going well, except that she is unable to print correctly, emails from Windows Mail.   What emerges from the printer is about the left third of the email, printed on the right third of the paper.  It's so weird, I downloaded an analysis of the example of it at:http://img177.imageshack.us/img177/3729/emailscan.jpg

I have consulted the laptop remotely and checked everything obvious like size settings - not that I see a lot of alter, paper, but does not include what could be wrong.  It's only the emails that are affected, and there are two weeks that they were very good impression on his printer previous (one another, but very old, Officejet).

Any ideas please?

Thank you

Windows Mail uses the same as Internet Explorer print engine. It seems that the left margin is way.

In IE: File | Page layout. Default is 0.75, (19mm), all around.

  • How to recover emails from Windows Mail?

I have recently reinstalled Windows Vista Home Premium and have now a new OS works perfectly. Beforehand, I used, and now I want to continue using Windows Mail I have place and running in the operating system reinstalled my email address.

However, all of my old emails remain in the folder of C:\windows.old\users\(my account \appdata\local\microsoft\windowsmail).

I guess I missed the boat with export before the re - install Windows Vista and then later import so can suggest you how I can move my email of in my old Windows Mail for my new Windows Mail, ideally keeping the same structure of folders (Inbox, etc.,).

Similarly, is it possible that I can now get my contact list?

    Thank you.

You can try file | Import | Messages in winmail to bring imported, or you can try dragging that the eml files by top the list of an open message Winmail folder and a fall only and they get incorporated into this folder.  Otherwise, my OEX program (www.oehelp.com/OEX/ 32-bit only) allows you to import from a directory of eml files.  The contacts must be under the users\ (oldaccount) \Contacts directory.

  • Transfer of stuff email from windows mail to outlook express

Is there a way to get windows mail to export the email info IE PST file, so I can forward the e-mail to another computer running XP with outlook express

Windows Mail or Outlook Express uses pst files. Only use MS Outlook. A simple way to do what you want it to.

Create a folder on the Vista desktop. Drag a WinMail folder messages in this folder. Copy it to the desktop of the XP machine and drag messages from the desktop folder to a folder in OE. Make as many records as needed. Bruce Hagen MS - MVP [Mail]

  • Cannot paste in an email from Windows Mail

Cannot paste into Windows Mail (version 6.0.6000) processor Microsoft Works.  No problems for the first 2 weeks of owning the computer.  Once I try to paste it into the e-mail, it says windows mail has stopped working and closed to email

    Hello DUBS65,

Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft answers Forum.

I have a few questions to help you troubleshoot.

Work Windows Mail if you paste not Microsoft Works and just typing an e-mail? You can send and receive mail?
What has changed in your environment, as he was working? Have you installed any new programs or software?

Try to do a system restore from when your email was working properly.
Follow the article below to set up a system restore.

936212 KB - how to repair the operating system and how to restore the configuration of the operating system to an earlier point in time in Windows Vista
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/936212

You can also create a manual system restore point so that you can restore to that State in case of problems.
Right-click on the computer icon in the desktop, then choose Properties
In the left pane, click System Protection
Alternatively, to directly access the System Protection tab, click Start and type SystemPropertiesProtection.exe.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Click the System Protection tab and then click on create.
In the System Protection dialog box, type a description, and then click on create.

If you do not have a point system restore, then try a clean boot by using msconfig.
I have included a link to the steps for a clean boot.

  • Export older emails from Windows Mail to where they were then I can open via my browser instead of Windows Mail

I had difficulties to send items to my e-mail, so I contacted my internet provider (Comcast) for how to make sure my default email address was Comcast. They do apparently have undedrstand my problem and I did not understand how email worked.

They ended up giving me directions that actually moved existing e-mail messages I accessed via my browser (IE9) to Windows Mail.  Now, all my previous messages can't be seen in my main mail to which I have access through my browser.

I don't want to have to go in Windows Mail to check my older emails.  All my new messages can be found via my browser (where I want that they) AND also in Windows Mail.  But old messages that have been moved, is visible via access to Windows Mail.  I want to be able to see/open these older posts as before they were moved TO my e-mail from the browser.  I don't want to have to look in two places for messages.

Comcast told me that Microsoft has to help me, even if they are the ones who caused the problem.  Is this a Microsoft problem or is it Comcast?  Can someone give me direction please?

The default behavior for Windows Mail is to download messages and then ask the server to remove from the server.  This is what happened.  There is no way to get back them on the server.  You will need to send to yourself and then they would be back on the server, but as forwarded messages and not the originals.  To prevent WinMail removing when it downloads, you can go to tools | Accounts | Mail | Properties | Advanced and check the option to leave them on the server.

  • Export of email from Windows Mail to Outlook 2003

Can I export e-mails from Windows Vista Mail to Outlook 2003

    1. the process requires Outlook and Windows Mail being installed and functional on the machine do the transfer.

    2. to move the e-mail messages, export to Microsoft Outlook (or Exchange) of in Windows Mail.  This places the e-mail messages in the Outlook Personal Folders file that is attached to the default Outlook profile.  When you then open Outlook, your messages will be already there, no need to import.  Export emails from OE/Windows Mail still works better than import with Outlook.

    3. to move Contacts, export them Windows Mail for one. CSV (Comma Separated Values) file and import the given in Outllook.

I can't find an e-mail from the Windows Mail application and how do I move an email to a folder and how to create a folder in my email box?

    Hi simo,.

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community forums.

I see from the description of the problem, you want to know how to find an email in Mail App and how to move an email to another folder.

    Method 1:
Search and email in the Mail application, follow these steps.

    (a) click the Windows key + C on the keyboard.

    (b) type the name of the sender or the keyword for the mail you want to search for in the search box on .
    (c) press enter.

    Method 2:
If you want to move the mails, you may create a folder on your webmail, and then synchronize the file with the mail application.

To move the emails to the mail app follow the steps.

    a. right click on the Email you want to move and then click move.
    b. Select the folder to move.

    The email is moved automatically.

  • How can I download a file of old emails from Windows Mail (not Windows Live Mail) to a flash drive?

Left Sode of the screen of Windows Mail are the names of files where the old emails can be stored. How to find the and then download them to a file separately on aflash drive as a back-up? They can be found using Windows Explorer or by using the regular 'real estate' research given to you by right-clicking on the name of the file in the Mail window.

Messages are stored in a hidden folder that you can locate it in Windows Explorer.  To do this go to the control panel. Folder options | View and uncheck Hide extensions of known file types and also to verify the possibility to see the hidden files and folders.  Then in Winmail opener you can go to tools | Options | Maintenance | Advanced | Store the folder to view the location of the message store.  You can then navigate to that folder in Windows Explorer and slot that you will find a subdirectory "Local Folders" and by whom are all of your boxes to the letters and messages stored as eml files.  You can copy this store of the entirety of the message, and then on an external drive to back it up.  I believe you can also use file | Export | Messages in Winmail to save outside.

See also www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx#wm for more information about the registry settings and message store organization.
