emails have disappeared, the folders and messages count rest

I have a server osx 10.7.5.

Oddly enough, one of my customer emails has disappeared... The e-mail address still exists, well, the folder structure still exists.  If I connect to email via [Server] / webmail email folder structure is complete and that each record indicates "Messages x to y of z" (for example. Messages 1 to 28 of 28)

It only happened on one of the many users account, and I don't know what caused it.  time machine backup failed, so the backup was useless (I wonder if it's related) and spotlight seems to index streaming (once again may be related).  I made a clone of the drive, and upgraded to El.Cap server, now the time machine works again, however the emails for this one user are still missing.  each file shows the correct e-mail shows however number than a simple email with no sender and a subject of (no subject) then trying to access mail via webmail a message appears "failed to load the server message.

any ideas? would be greatly appreciated.

more information, I have:

-J' tried mail - mailbox - reconstruction on the users ' computers.  (osx user El.Cap)

-tried to repair permissions and verify disk using disk utility.

-looked on the computer of users in the [user] / [Library/Mail/V2/imap account] where the folder structure exists in the form of mbox, but no data within E-mail.

-found on the library, Sever, Mail, data server, however not able to establish what file or folder can become appropriate, or how to see the email to the breast.

with an assumption (creation date and size) I think I know which folder is the folder of the offending client, its size shows that 1.07 GB, however within the limits I can only account for about 60 KB

I am currently a player SuperDuper clone before making any additional changes, as time machine will not work on this version.
