empty boots XP desktop, no icons, no start button, Ctrl + Alt + Delete does nothing, even in Safe Mode?

Few days back in the area I live there were power cuts sudden, because of that my computer (4300 HP workstation) used to cut just. The day before yesterday that I turned on. He started regularly, he stopped just before the window saying: "Starting Windows" is displayed. Waited about half an hour but no use. Then I inserted Windows installation cd-rom, tried to recover, but he said no drive found. I checked in the BIOS detects the hard drive. Then I removed and attached all link on the hard drive. Then tried but the problem persists. I need urgent help. Otherwise my data wil lost, my project work, family photos...

All you have to do is probably a 'chkdsk' with the /f or /r option to wipe your drive.  The problem is that the Windows installation disc does not include drivers for disk drives SATA which is probably the reason that you do not see your hard drive when you boot it.

From what I hear, you should be able to download and burn a recovery Windows 7 CD which should be able to check and repair repair a standard Windows XP NTFS hard drive.

This article shows you how to create the CD:

  • I can't access my account normally in Vista Home Premium: no job, no icons, no start button bar

This problem started about 2 days ago. I turn on the computer and it starts normally. Then, when I put my password to login my account all I'm getting is the dialog box on a black screen asking if I want to start Vista now or more later. In addition, there are also a message in the corner at the bottom right of the screen saying that it is not a genuine copy of Vista. There is no taskbar, no icons, no start button. So far I tried to start safe mode and it identify you with icons, button bar and try to start but the background is always black without wallpaper. I tried restoring the system and don't have a virus scan with Live One Care, but these did not work.  Sometimes if I leave it alone and come back later the missing items are returned on their own, but the wallpaper is not yet there. In fact, while I was typing this question jumped in the back things. What else can I try?

If Windows has not been activated, the black screen is a normal behavior of Microsoft.  See André solution in this thread for Windows 7.

    Hello

I recently bought a Samsung 120 GB 840 Evo Series SSD to start my operating system and general programs faster than my current hard drive. I want to keep my hard drive 2 TB of storage mass (videos, music etc...) but I want to migrate my OS on my SSD. I copied my Program Files x 86 for my SSD and I went into the BIOS and set my boot option #1 and #1 Boot priority to my SSD, however, after I save and exit the BIOS, I'm greeted by the message "Boot MGR missing - Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to reset" and now I don't know what to do.

    Any advice would be great!

  • Ctrl + alt + delete: instead of a menu of auto start Task Manager?

I was wondering how to do ctrl + alt + del open Manager tasks immediately instead of a menu to open upwards and then having to choose the Task Manager.

    Thank you.

    Hi Brian.

It seems to me that you have disabled the Welcome screen at first upward.  You can check this by going to the "Start" menu and then go to 'Control Panel'.  Click on "User accounts" and then click on the option "Change the way users log on and outside."  You should now see two options.  The first is "Use welcome screen" and, with your current explanation, that has a checkbox that is empty.  Click the checkbox to enable the Welcome screen, then exit to the desktop, and then restart your machine.  After reboot, you should then see the Welcome screen with a list of all users. (If more than one.)  Sign in and then try Ctrl + Alt + Delete.  The task manager should now appear.

If the HP recovery process does not work, it seems to be a hardware problem.

And now that you mention have a blue screen.

If it was a software problem, the process of HP recovery to reinstall the operating system should fix (take it back in new condition).

And this new condition would exclude any incorrect hardware drivers may have installed the original problem.

    Have you tried HP support?

    http://WWW8.HP.com/us/en/contact-HP/contact.html

    Or assistance HP Forums:

    http://h30434.www3.HP.com/

    See you soon.

    Edit:

HP recovery process, you get the possibility of a destructive or non-destructive restore. If you use non-destructive recovery option, often have the same problems continue.

The problem continues when you use destructive recovery too.

  • Once implemented freezes screen, can get out of gel by Ctrl-alt-delete, starts in safe mode

I had to do a full system recovery on my computer with Vista. Towards the end of installation screen is frozen on a blue screen which says that it was a single configuration screen and to ignore the messages etc. other than those who might ask you to restart.  This form has remained for more than 1 hour and a half before I dared to think that there might be frozen by pressing Ctrl-alt-delete and then cancel I could get the desktop to appear how I was responsible for approving some updates, more than 90 more.  Half of these updates failed, but future attempts had succeeded re installation. Now everytime I restart the computer, it goes back to the original blue single please wait screen.  I can go out with Ctrl-alt-delete. I also tried Microsoft Fix - It and the sfc/scannow not detected no problems. Any suggestions would be welcome.  Thank you.  Susan

    start in safe mode.

    Choose Repair computer

Or the last known good configuration.

If windows loads in safe mode then uninstall any recently installed.

Maybe do a system restore to an earlier date.
