• Why the DNS cache would have entered negative when connecting?

  Thanks in advance for reading this.

  I have a problem when DNS cache contains negative entries to our Exchange Server, the file server / printing and even some among the domain controllers.  I tried to completely flush the cache by using the ipconfig/flushdns command, and then view the result with the ipconfig/displaydns command which will leave only the local host entries.  After that I have to reboot the machine, the negative entries are here once again and I cannot ping the servers exchange or print file.  Nslookup works fine however and resolves names without problem.  When I rinse again and then try clicking, it works for awhile but then the negative entries will appear again while I'm connected.  What makes it more interesting, is that it is not always the same negative records that appear.

  Things that did not help I tried:

  1. rebuilt laptop client using a different material.  This leads me to believe that this isn't related viruses/spyware since it happened immediately after setting a cell phone completely new with a new build of Windows XP.
  2. added to ipconfig/flushdns to the logon script.

  Info about my environment:

  1. we have all our servers in one location on the desktop, and all branches are connected via the VPN site-to site.
  2 the client machine is added to the domain and is running Windows XP SP3.
  3. this question is not present on the main site, only in branches.
  4. the branches using Sonicwall TZ 200 units for DHCP.
  5. it may be a coincidence, but this problem seems to have happened since we went from Sonicwall TZ 170 s to TZ 200
  but I do not see how it would affect the cache.
  6 I emptied the cache, and then more minutes late the negative entries will appear again even if pings worked a few minutes earlier.  It doesn't seem to be a physical problem because my RDP session is never the problem while I'm troubleshooting.

  If anyone has any idea as to why negative cache entries will appear when the physical network is fine, and when nslookup is no problem to find the servers, I would be very grateful for your input.

  You can disable password manager if you want to never store a name and a password.

  • Tools > Options > Security: passwords: [] "Remember passwords for sites".

  Otherwise you can click on the key icon to the left of the address bar Firefox request to store a password and click on maybe ever to create an exception block.

  In case you use 'Clear history of Firefox closing' or otherwise to clear the history.

• I suddenly can't all sites that I use every day on Firefox to load. I tried to empty the cache. No difference. How can I fix it?

  I use Firefox every day to access many sites. Yesterday, it worked perfectly. Today, that it won't work at all. I just get "Unable to connect" message when I try to load websites - and sites work on other programs (even if I need to use firefox to do certain things on some of them...) so it is not a problem of internet access. I read the help articles and they help at all. I tried to empty the cache. It makes no difference. I tried to check that no proxy is highlighted under the advanced access settings. It is, and see which makes no difference. I tried looking to see if Firefox is permitted to access the web through my windows computer - but I can't say what program he would need to connect. And I have not changed my settings since yesterday - when it worked perfectly (or seems to). That shouldn't be the problem.

  In following these instructions in the past, empty the cache takes 5 minutes and when restarting it would go while "Optimizing the app xx xx" and take a long time.

  I tried this tonight and the wipe cache in the recovery takes about 5 seconds, weird, but I continued and restarted. It starts normally and was in the lock screen in under 2 minutes, with no sign of the optimization of applications. So I rebooted and tried again, same result, Journal practically the same cache. A second wipe cache in a row without restarting the computer gives the same results without the entries "blk".

  This does not seem normal.

  It shouldn't take a lot of time. It took too long before. It works as it should now. I don't worry about this. I hope this helps.

  The entries in the DNS Cache off the table after about 1/2 day.

  Use a proxy server?

  If you do, all http:// traffic will pass through this unique proxy server and you will not see the sites target in the DNS cache.

  It is not important, but it is harmless and helps to protect your privacy.

• Obsolete entry in the DNS Cache in name of VCHB with Remote Desktop connection

  We cannot use remote desktop to connect the virtual name of one of our vCenter Heartbeat.  When we connect we get a message that says "the connection can not be established because the remote computer that has been concluded is not one that you have specified.  This could be caused by an outdated entry in the DNS cache.  Try using the IP address of the computer instead of the name.  We are able to connect by IP address.

  Googling for this error comes up with ideas such as time synchronization check (it's good), and the deactivation of safety checks DRC (we cannot - political society).  Using nslookup all forward and reverses two server instances and the virtual name of good sound.  Three other bodies VCHB in our environment work very well as well, but we do know the difference between those and this problematic.

  Have anyone of you experience something like this before?  Any ideas?

  We had this same problem. It happened only on one of our VCHB, our handle other forums did not have this problem. After having much poking around, we noticed that the name of public virtual/VCHB problem had an entry of computer object in AD, while (most) others have not done. We wondered if it was somehow related to the problem. We checked with VMware support and finally said it would be OK to delete the computer object in AD for the name of virtual\public. We have removed the subject of the AD, waited about an hour, and (somewhat to our surprise) this actually solved the problem - we have DRC in the virtual/public name with no problems.

  I often have delays with Outlook Express and "absorbing the network address" coming up on my screen before quiote often.   ipconfig/flushdns who would do, but if the repair cannot do you probably will be no more. Restart should fix the problem. AMAY you want to check for the new NIC drivers or check with the device (router WLAN?) that provides your DHCP (there could be connection problems).

• Despite all the advice here, empty the cache, uninstall, reinstall etc messnger will not keep receiving error code 81000494. Why?

  Messenger does not open. Normal startup traverse; loading contacts etc then get message that messenger is not available to the general public and the 81000494 error code. Have followed all the advice; refreshed ip, cleared cache dns entries, authorized the program through firewall, uninstalled messenger, and reinstalled, but keep getting the same error and complete code.

  When I click on the drop-down lists for options on a Web site, the list disappears before I can click on any option. I find clear the cache and cookies every time, it will work only once before the compensation again. So it must be allowed for each unique click on an option.
