Emptying deleted items folder.

Hello. My fairly old desktop running Vista. When I say yes to permanently delete the contents of the deleted items folder, nothing happens. Used to work properly. Anyone know why or what it takes please?

Assuming you are using the Windows Mail program that has been integrated into Vista, try to compact and repair the database with this tool.

  • How to remove the elements in the "Deleted items" folder using Microsoft Windows Mail?

This used to work, but I was not able to remove items from the deleted items folder and it takes a lot of space.  I used to be able to do it and it automatically deletes the items when I closed Windows Mail (it is always set up to do, incidentally, does not yet), but now it does not work. I've tried everything. I used the link at the top of the page coming down and clicked on "Empty Deleted Items Folder", but it does not work.

I tried to download Windows Live Mail and it won't work on my computer.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you!

Maybe could turn the setting and then turn again. Sometimes it works, but I wouldn't be surprised if she did not help, or if you have already tried.

    Take note of the following:

    1. I've never used only 8 years old, Windows Mail
    2. Windows Mail is not supported.

The deleted items folder has a clean button on it? This can empty it completely. Another thing to consider is that your e-mail service can remove items deleted periodically. However, as you say, it takes place, so you can delete them manually.

Alternatively, you can consider changing the e-mail programs. You said that Windows Live Mail did not work. You can try an older version, because I don't think not 2012 works on Vista (based on absolutely no evidence, by the way) another option to consider is Mozilla Thunderbird. If you have Microsoft Office and it includes Outlook, certainly use it.

That's the only advice I have. If this does not help, I don't have anything else for you.

  • My Windows Live Mail 'deleted items' folder is not empty: error 'UID store failed.

    Separated from this thread.

What WLM version do you have?

Have you tried a repair of WLM?

Select 'Windows Live Essentials' then follow the "repair" options.

I have the same problem: my 'deleted items' folder will be empty. I tried the proposed repair and that did not work.

"The messages that I get when I try to empty folder are first"an unknown error has occurred", the second:"some of the items in the deleted items folder may not be deleted"and the third in the Details tab: UID Store failed.

My version of WLM is 12.

I also had this problem.  Nothing would delete from a year and half ago.  Once I read THIS reply from Firedog, I started looking for where the destruction of my devices have been mapped to.  Between my phone, my office and my Kindle, (date of the problem started when I bought my new phone) and delete them all three parameters have been mapped in three different places.  Once I changed that and they were all mapped to the same place, the problem has been SOLVED!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!

  • In Windows Mail, I can't empty my deleted items folder.

When I try to delete a message or a certain number of messages or view the message, I get the dialogue following "Windows Mail encountered an unexpected problem for the display of this message. Search your computer lack of memory or low disk space and try again. »

    I tried

    1) highlighting of messages and pressing the delete key

    (2) using the command empty deleted items in the Edit menu

    (3) using the Ctrl A to select messages and Shift + Delete

    (4) using the red x button in the toolbar. Same result any mode of approach.

    Anyone else had this?

Try to compact and repair the database (see www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/).  Also, make sure that this antivirus is does not interfere with Windows Mail (see www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3) and make sure you have the latest updates to Vista, including Service Pack 2.

  • Windows Vista Mail - Unable to remove deleted items folder

I show 894 messages in my deleted items folder.  When I click on this folder I don't see any messages.  When I right click to empty deleted folder, I get an error message - some items in the folder "Deleted items" may not be deleted - an error has occurred.

What I see - when I go in the folder items that are removed in the lower left corner, it says "0 0 messages reading".  If the folder is empty, but how can I get rid of the number in brackets - 894?

Also would help compaction?  If so, please tell me where to go to do it.  Thank you.

  • Windows Vista mail. Impossible to delete some items from the deleted items folder.

I can delete the new entries, but there are a few video fwded causing w/message does not. the Explorer did the same thing.

In Windows Mail, select 'Tools', then 'Options', then choose the "Advanced" tab (a-wing) and then choose 'Maintenance' and check the 'Empty messages from the deleted items folder' box leaving

This will remove them those ALL - not only some that selections but he should get rid of those who you are having problems with at the same time.  I don't know how just select the few with videos.

    I hope this helps.
