EN: Opening reports in PDF on a Web link URL

Hello

I want to build a kind of homepage in html, where users can run financial reports. To do this, I integrated the URL link to the document as

href = "http://localhost.ads.company.nl:19000 / area of work/travel/get/reports/Controlling/development/PortStrukABCSplit ' > profitability presentation < /a >

The report opens in html.

The question is how to change the link so that it opens in .pdf?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Kind regards
Philip Hulsebosch

I used the following on 901 and 931 to switch between html and PDF reports for users:

? repository_format_id = pdf

? repository_format_id = html

I actually transfer this to a variable so I just need to add it to the URL, also opens in a new window:

printPDF = '? '. repository_format_id = pdf ".

Application.OpenURL (url + ServerName + printPDF, "_new")

  • Blank PDFs open while the user uses the Web browser

One of the users of our company presents a strange problem with Adobe Reader and Internet usage. Randomly when it is on the internet reader will open 1 empty PDF. After leaving this black PDF that opens without apparent reason, a second blank PDF opens. Only after the closing of the windows of the second PDF, reader cease to open a blank PDF.

To be clear, the question, I was in his office when open PDF files on him, and he has not yet clicked a PDF file to view. It just seems to happen after he clicks on a link on the web.

He uses Windows 7 professional 64-bit, and I'm sure he's got Reader X or later version on his machine.

I think he uses Google Chrome browser when that happens, but he said recently this problem with Internet Explorer, "accidentally, I open internet explore and click on an article of new KETV.»  This time the problem of pdf did not stop.  He opened several tabs for the article I've tried to see. And he tried to open a pdf file, sometimes more than one pdf for each open tab.  "I got caught in a cycle until I used the Task Manager to kill it."

If you have an idea why this is happening please let me know.

    Thank you

I found the solution to my problem, fortunately. If ever, someone else come across this problem and found this post. Users were using Reader 9. So I have updated their XI player and did not have the problem again. If this never happens on the road once again, I would say to upgrade to the latest version and you shouldn't have the problem more.

  • HTML full report links check accessibility of does not open the corresponding PDF links

I regularly generate complete reports of the accessibility check to the PDF user guides that create in MS Word. However, when I click on the links in the file/HTML report generated, they are supposed to link/highlight corresponding errors in the PDf file. Instead, I get an error message that 'there was an error opening this document. Bad parameters. »

How can I get the links to work so I know what section in my PDF error (inaccessible items).

    Thank you

I understand that you create HTML reports and then use them to find errors/display PDF files.

Is this a new problem or have you always had problems with the links?  If this is a new problem, what has changed on your system?

Can you see other PDF documents in your browser?

Have you moved your files since you created the report - as you know the references of the HTML report to a specific location on your hard drive and if you moved the PDF file after creating the report, it is perhaps not able to find the file.

  • Launch of HFR reports in PDF format and in HTML when you access through planning Tasklist

I am faced with a dilemma. I'm on a project where the planning is being installed. MS Excel SmartView is the main interface to the user for forms and reports. I posted several HFR reports for planning lists, but users want the option to open in PDF or HTML format. Reports HFR list of default tasks in html format. However, I understand that you can set the option via the workspace of planning to have financial reports in PDF format or html. The question is, how do I get a HFR report assigned in a task list to launch PDF unless the user set the preference in the workspace of planning. We have no change, so Management Department, the community using Smart View is a major obstacle so, another site it would do worse. Is there a global parameter that can be set at the level of the server, or behind the adjustment of scenes to the default code for all users in PDF format? The other issue is that if the user then wishes to obtain the PDF HFR report, can they have an option to open in mode query in MS Excel as an Ad hoc planning? Any suggestions on these two issues would be greatly appreciated. We are on the verge of the UAT and expected it comes down from the top. Thanks in advance.

  • Chrome does not recognize my creative cloud installed and active acrobat. I'm trying to download a PDF file from Web sites and to get the message that I must first launch acrobat and sign the user agreement, but acrobat is already underway.

    Hello

I recently tried to switch my browser to Chrome of Safari, which I never use and I'm pretty happy with Chrome overall I had to go because I can't recognize my installation of Adobe Acrobat.

He always tries to open them in the preview of a PDF from the web and then if I try to export it as a pdf after sitting and wait a long time for it "thinks" I get error that I need to launch adobe acrobat and accept the user agreement.

    But acrobat already running!

    Any ideas?

If you are on a Mac, I've read that Google has recently changed to Chrome so that it cannot use Adobe PDF plug-ins. These have been not supported for many years in all cases. I suggest you to use Safari when you need PDF files (but noted that the Mavericks Apple stopped using Adobe plug-ins, however in this case, there IS a solution).

    Hi Adil,

Place the PDF in /l_en dint record works for me too however, you can place them inside the following paths and restart the services.

    D:\MWARE\user_projects\domains\bifoundation_domain\servers\AdminServer\tmp\_WL_user\analytics_11.1.1\silp1v\war\res

    AND

    D:\MWARE\Oracle_BI1\bifoundation\web\app\res

You can then call your file with the url http://hostname:port/analytics/res/filename.pdf

It worked for me, let me know in case of any problems.

  • "Cannot use adobe reader to view PDFs in your web browser" error in Windows 7 and Acrobat pro 8.1.7

I get the error 'cannot use adobe reader to view PDFs in your web browser.  Player will now stop.  Please exit your browser and try again"in Windows 7 x 32 and Windows 7 x 64 with Acrobat pro 8.1.7.  This occurs when you try to open a PDF file in Internet explore 8.0.760 or when I open a PDF file in Quickbooks 2008.  If I answer ok or cancel, the file opens normally.  If I open acrobat 8 first of all and then the pdf file opens as expected.  I also tried a copy of Acrobat reader, with no difference in the result.  Because this happens on two different computers a new copy of windows 7 x 64, the other, an upgrade to windows 7 x 32 and they used to work before moving to windows 7, I guess that there is some sort of incompatibility with windows 7 and acrobat.  Is this a known problem and will be fixed in an update to acrobat in the near future?

For Windows 7 you will need Adobe Acrobat 9.1.

  • The preview of a financial report in pdf format in version 11 on 64 bit system

    Hello

One of my clients needs to review a financial report using pdf. However, cannot display the error page appears. The environment is

    64-bit Windows
    Essbase version 11

Previewing a report of EN is done by right-clicking on the report > open in > overview pdf. He mistakes at this stage.

I can assume EN has been configured to allow PDFs tp occurs.

    Thank you

    Nathan

32-bit mode means you just have to install the binary rather than the 64-bit binary of 32 bits, for example the latest version 11.1 is 8.63, which has 32-bit and 64-bit versions:

    http://sourceforge.NET/projects/Ghostscript/files/GPL%20Ghostscript/8.63/gs863w32.exe/download

    http://sourceforge.NET/projects/Ghostscript/files/GPL%20Ghostscript/8.63/gs863w64.exe/download

The only other thing I can think is the configuration of the printer was executed?

    Hello

I take that you have installed is:

-Adobe Acrobat Distiller Server 8.0 or 6.0
-GPL Ghostscript 8.63; AFPL Ghostscript 8.54 or 8.51; or GNU Ghostscript 7.0.6
