enabling kernel on core duo processor

When I bought my pc with a processor duo, both hearts were activated and working. Now for some reason any after I ran a hardware diagnostic test, she came back to say even though I have carrots of duo, that a single core is enabled. I tried Googling in hopes that I would find the answer, but nothing helped. Any ideas / solutions to how I can activate the kernel? Thank you in advance. Here is my pc info and plug.

I have a compaq presario SR5550F DESKTOP that ive had since 2008. its running windows vista 32-bit sp2, AMD Athlon (TM) 64 X 2 DUAL CORE PROCESSOR 6000 (b) w / SOCKET AM2 +. MY BIOS version is 5.3 core version 6.0. the chipset is a GeForce 6150SE nForce 430. I'm running a market after video card (Sapphire X 1600 pro), with 3 GB of memory. Yet once thank you... ron

Hello

Go to the system properties, on the advanced to the environment variables tab. Check the NUMBER_OF_PROCESSOR variable. If it is set to 1, edit and set it to 2. Then, restart the system.

    Hello

Ivan is reason. Forget the CPU upgrade and put the maximum RAM (2 GB) and your device will work much better and faster. Compatible modules are:
    PC2700 512 MB (PA3312U - 1 M 51)
    1024MO PC2700 (PA3313U-1M1G)

  • Is there a CS2 for an iMac with Intel core duo processor, 2006?

I have an imac of 2006 with Intel core duo running on OS 10.6.8 (snow leopard) and I can not install any later operating system on my computer.  Is there a version of Photoshop, I can install it on my computer?  I can buy an unopened, full retail install version CS2, but the specs say that it is only good on a Mac to be able to.  I find no indication than ever, there is a version of Intel - what are my options?

.. before someone suggests I buy a new computer, I'll put it simply: Yes, I know that my computer is a dinosaur. I can't buy a new computer for the moment.

    Thank you!

There is no Intel of CS2 version. It's only PowerPC.

That said, OS X 10.6.8 can run PowerPC applications but only if Rosetta is installed. Rosetta is not installed by default on Snow Leopard.

That said, you are only entitled to use the CS2 without activation link above if you already have a CS2 (or earlier version) license.

    Hi Filipe

Generally, the upgrade of the CPU is not very easy on laptops and undesirable. In my knowledge Toshiba doesn't supports CPU upgrade and you will lose the warranty if you open Notepad.

As far as I know the microprocessor used in the Satellite P100 series (Intel Platform) will be different by the model.
    It supports the following processors:

    Intel Core Duo T2300(1.66GHz); T2400(1.83GHz); T2500 (2 GHz); T2600(2.16Gz); T2700(2.33Gz) FSB: 667 MHz

Intel Core Solo T1400(1.83GHz); T1300(1.66GHz); FSB: 667 MHz

    Intel Celeron-M (Yonah core based) 410; 420; 430; FSB: 533 MHz

Hope I could bring this matter to light.

  • Qosmio G30-163: Core Duo T2500 Core 2 Duo T2500 processor upgrade?

I have a Toshiba Qosmio G30-163 which has 2.0 GHz Core duo. That I wonder if it is possible to change this processor to processor core 2 duo at the same speed or maybe a lil faster since the duo core 2 CPU produced less heat than core duo, I've heard...

Is guaranteed get trashed if I pay an official toshiba service bureau to replace the cpu?
Why I want to change the processor is think about running 64 bit OS that is not supported by core duo cpu, core 2 duo CPU does support 64-bit...

    Hello

Of course, everything is theoretically possible ;) but practice isn't very easy.
To my knowledge, Toshiba doesn't support any replacement of CPU and upgrades and so I don t think you will get a new BIOS specially for this laptop.

The F30 seems to be a new laptop. Therefore, you must know that you will lose your warranty if you open the notebook and remove the CPU!
In my view, it is not worth

  • Satellite P100-119: is it possible to upgrade the processor to Core Duo?

I ve a Satellite P100-119 computer laptop with 1, 66 GHz (Core Duo). Is it possible to install a faster processor (2.0 Ghz Duo Core) in this notebook, without Exchange of the motherboard?

    Hello

Toshiba doesn't usually recommend upgrading CPU and doesn t support these upgrades. Everything you make are at your own risk!
In this case you will lose the warranty and if something goes wrong you will not get any support.

Well, some people suggested that it is possible and that works, but I've never tried and cannot give you a 100% guarantee that it will work.

  • My Tecra A8 Celeron or Intel Core 2 Duo processor processor?

I have a Tecra A8 (PTA83E-04R039EN) T7200/1024 / 100 G 54/15WT/DS2/L/M, it has a sticker on the top for Intel centrino duo processor. All read ups and support show is a processor core 2 duo with 4 MB of cache.

However when I do a utility ID of Intel processors and software benchmark, it shows me that the processor I have is actually a Celeron M with 1 MB of cache.

    This is correct?
Have I received the wrong processor in my machine or what?
    Hope someone can answer this.

I installed Vista and it also shows that it is a Celeron M 1.73 GHz?

    Hello

According to the specifications of the laptop, your laptop comes with Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 (2.0 GHz) CPU processor. I recommend you to call ASP in your country. They can communicate directly with Toshiba and offer you the best answer.

His quiet old, so my questions are:

    1. the question of whether I should upgrade my processor or buy a new one (or another desktop computer / laptop)?  My rule of thumb is do not upgrade the processor unless the speed is almost doubled.  I don't think that the performance will be enough to justify the increased cost.

2 and if there is a possibility of an upgrade, then can evolve this processor to the 2nd genration i3/5/7? This is supported by HP CPU upgrades: see below.

    3. I like to play games, and I have only 256 MB Nvidia graphics card. Can I level too? If so, then how?  The first thing to determine is the power of the power supply unit (PSU).  I think that it can be only 250W.  You can open the case and read the label on.  Latest maps of intermediate level require at least 400W.  So, if my guess is correct, you will need to upgrade the PSU also.  I like the graphics cards XFX, BFG, EVGA, Sapphire and PNY in that order.  I love OCZ and Corsair PSU.

With this information, you can determine if you need to upgrade or buy a new computer.  If you decide to buy a new computer, I suggest a desktop computer for games.  They run a lot cooler.  Be sure to buy one with the power supply with the most power possible.  The PSU is the backbone of the computer.  If you have any other questions, let me know.

    Thanks in advance!

Yes via a clean boot, if it is a retail version of Windows XP, without supplies Asus drivers for this laptop winxp. And if it is a sata drive, you will need to use the F6 option at the beginning of the installation of Windows XP to install sata controller drivers diskette

  • Vista starts is no longer with my Intel core 2 duo processor.

I am unable to start my Vista Home premium PC using my Intel core 2 duo processor. Initially, my PC came with an Intel P4 - 641, which I've upgraded to a processor E4700 Intel core 2 duo. I had no problem with the upgrade for four years until recently where it would not start.  I get the message to repair windows. I tried to repair and restore the windows are done everything to nothing. I even bought a new hard drive and a different processor - core 2 duo Intel E6600. Only when I re inserted the P4 would normally start from the PC to the top. I tried to install the firmware for vista reliability update: KB936357 to solve problems of stability with Intel core 2 duo processor. But the installer tells me that the update is not applicable, because I am running a P4. Please help as I really want to turn the core 2 duo on my system. I already installed the latest version of the bios available for my system.

    Hello

I enclose a link that provides the processors supported for your laptop:

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c01846031.PDF

If you have at least the version of the BIOS installed F.10E which is the only BIOS where I saw release notes pertaining to processors, you should be able to upgrade to one of these listed processors.

  • No matter what video played in my firefox always flashes. My operating system is Mac OS x 10.6.8 running on the processor intel core duo. 32-bit computer

    Hello

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. As this feature has been added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there are still some problems.

You will have to perhaps restart Firefox for it to take effect, so save any work first (e.g. you compose mail, documents online that you are editing, etc.).

    Then perform the following steps:

    1. Open the Firefox Options (Preferences on Mac or Linux) as follows:

      • In Firefox 29,0 and above, click on the menu button

then select Options Preferences on Mac or Linux, or Windows.

      • In 28.0 Firefox and earlier versions, click on the Firefox orange upper-left button, then select the 'Options' button or, if there is no button up Firefox, go to tools > Options.
    2. In the window of Firefox Options (or preferences), click on the Advanced tab, and then select general.
    3. You will find in the list of parameters, the checkbox use hardware acceleration when available . Clear this check box.
    4. Now restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.

In addition, please check the updates for your graphics driver by following the steps in the following knowledge base articles:

  • Does Vista support Core Duo on Satellite A100

Recently I bought laptop Satellite A100-784 with Core Duo CPU and pre-installed Vista Home Basic and I have a question about.

Among all the tables of comparison of the different versions of Vista that I found on the Internet, it has been said that Vista Home Basic Edition does not support the technology of modern processor dual-core. I would like to know the Vista that was preinstalled on my laptop Core Duo, if it a slightly modified version of Vista Home Basic with the CPU support double core or is it just a Vista Home Basic standard that doesn't support CPU Core Duo in its entirety?

    Why I ask:
    (1) I see no sence to change Windows XP that came before with Satellite A100 laptop series and who supported the technology double heart with operating system that may not cover all previous Windows features.

    (2) in comparison tables, it was also said Vista Home Basic is not compatible WiFi well in windows, I got with my computer laptop WiFi was preinstalled with a complete coverage of the operating system that makes me thihk that the preinstalled Vista is a bit modyfied in support of all possible features of this exact notebook.

Someone could he clear to me?

    Thank you in advance.

Please show me this comparison table, cant believe it :) Vista Home Basic supports processors Dual-Core as well as WiFi, what a question!

Maybe learn you about multiple CPU systems. This could be. But two cores in one processor is not a problem!

  • Re: Satellite A200-1TS - can I upgrade the CPU Intel Core Duo T7800 mobile

    Hello

I have a laptop toshiba Satellite A200-1TS with processor intel core 2 duo T7500 mobile.
Here is my model: http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=29761&processor=T7500&spec-codes=SLA3N, SLA44, SLADM, SLAF8,.

I want to change the processor with Intel core duo T7800 mobile.
This is the model: http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=31729&processor=T7800&spec-codes=SLA75, SLAF6

Is it possible to change this?
Because is not a diference betwwen T7500 and T7800.
The only diference is that T7800 has 2, 6 GHz. And my motherboard supports any other procesors as T8XXX or T9XXX?

    Thank you

Why do you want to upgrade?
Only due to the fact that the new processor takes in charge the 2.6 Ghz instead of 2.2 Ghz?

To be honest, you will notice no no performance gain after these updates.
Of course, the processor is faster, but would not really noticeable.

In addition, you should know that a CPU upgrade on laptop is very complicated.
First disassembly of the laptop is really complicated. It may be damaged other parts during disassembly procedure and more, you will lose the warranty.

Theoretically, this processor should be compatible, but as much as I know the Toshiba does not support updates and there could be a conflict of BIOS.

So I would not recommend these updates.

PS: Check your chipset and look at the Intel page for more information about the various CPU media.
