Encoding format Blu - ray destroyed my black levels - that I'm going to hurt?

I need to burn a short to Blu - ray for a future projection, but whenever first/encoder/still ends the disc, the levels of black look anything like what I saw in my project schedule OR even preview. Blacks are soft, gray, with way too many details in them. Research led me to believe that my question has something to do with the color of my project values is from 0 to 255, but that Adobe Media Encoder that will pass automatically to the 16-235. Or something. I don't know, this is all new to me in the last 12 hours.

I've missed around with the effect levels in first just to test this hypothesis, and when I came out of 0 to 16 in the timeline panel black levels, he did reproduce the difference I saw in the finish of the blu.

I scoured all the parameters in first and still a way to control the levels of black get in / out of encoder, but couldn't find anything. Someone please tell me what stupid thing I overlooked so that I can make this film to look right.

For reference, my video source is:

Images of .mov DSLR, 1920 x 1080, 23.976

And I export to Blu - ray using the following parameters:

MPEG 2 (also tried H.264, same result)

NTSC

CBR (from the film only 22 minutes), but I also tried VBR 2 pass to max, minimum target and 25mbps 35mbs 40mbps.

Profile: 5.0

Rendering quality Max, maximum depth, max everything.

First Pro Cs5.5 running

You were right about that. The settings in the graphics card drive (which apparently I put manually) had the card using its own settings for office and most applications (like the first), but default to the default settings of the program for some video players (that is, only Power DVD). I now see the contrast values constantly between PP and blu reading on the computer, but there is still a question (much more subtle) contrast and gamma when I burn on blu. Will try some of the suggestions above and after return. Thank you guys.

  • Not supported format - Blu - Ray will not play on HP Pavilion

    I have a HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook PC WA794UA #ABA CNF0162R76.

Whenever I try to play a Blu - Ray disc in my Blu - Ray player, I get an "Unsupported Format" Message in HP MediaSmart DVD Player.

    What I am doing wrong?

    Hello

If you use HP MediaSmart DVD (which can be glitch) to read the Blu - ray disc, try the following.

HP now provides a version of PowerDVD 10 Cyberlinks which seems to be a better solution.  Download the installer for it on the link below and save it to your desktop.

    FTP://ftp.HP.com/pub/SoftPaq/sp53001-53500/sp53029.exe

When the download is complete, open windows panneau Panel configuration, open programs and features, right click the entry for HP MediaSmart DVD and select uninstall - once this process is complete, restart the laptop.

When windows has reloaded, double-click the installer for PowerDVD 10 start the installation.  Once this done, see if your Blu - ray disc now plays OK.

    Kind regards

  • Update from DVD format Blu - Ray

I have a G26 (model number VU637AV), and he currently has the DVD player in it. I want to this level to a compatible Blu - Ray player. According to the HP parts store, I need either model number 600652-001 or 599063-001. These are the two almost $300, but searching online shows me there are other discs of HP Blu - Ray laptop with prices as low as ~ $ 100. These other drives will work with my G62, or is there a specific reason, that they will be incompatible? Is there another way to update my drive other than buying a new drive and rip my laptop to swap? Thank you.

Ok... So I had no problem swapping the car around... You will need to exchange the bezel and optical disk drive mounting bracket (the stuff that keeps the optical drive for notebook chassis) you're good to go...

But let me put a word of caution as well, you may encounter a problem of tolerance you need to work your way through...

  • export parameter to make panasonic SC - x 920 video 1920 x 1080 p 60 fps blu - ray disc

I bought a camera panasonic SC - X 920 which pulls in 1920 x 1080 progressive 60 fps so I can make videos of 60 images/s to the internet and I know that you can get up to 30 p videos but what I read a real blu - ray disc doesn't support 60 fps are my project for my video setting (1920 x 1080 59,94 frames per second) progressive). The video plays well in my project, but I don't want to make the folder incorrectly waste blu - ray discs, and my intention is to import this export in yet to do a blu - ray disc. I first pro CS6 and I realize there is a tab that you can select to match the sequence parameter to export, should I use it and then import my video into still and let him face or is there a better setting? I know still takes forever to encode and would like to do the encoding first so this recall is not necessary to code. With my video should I select blu - ray h.264 preset and then make a video to 29.97 1920 x 1080 interlaced? Should I choose a higher or lower field to deinterlace? Or should I make a mpeg-2 blu - ray and all let be set automatically according to the parameters of the project? I don't know exactly how I should go to this progressive 60 fps video a 30 (29.97) fps video to make it compatible so that I can burn to blu - ray disc. Could someone help me please, my research has not turned up to definitive answers.

    None of your images is 1920 x 1080, but you can't put it on a BD - 60 p.

If you want to keep the 60 p you export to 720.

  • Length maximum Blu - ray HQ with H.264 and audio 5.1

    Greetings,

I'm trying to get through my first project after the upgrade to CS6 and although I searched on this subject, I have not found a solution.

Previously, I used CS5 and encoded in MPEG-2/HQ/VBR2 1440x1080i (corresponds to the source) and coding for 5.1 audio Surcode produce of the Blu - Ray.

It seems that CS6, and improved video codecs, the impulse is to start using the H.264 or MPEG-2.  Don't I have that right?

I am aware, there seems to be some problems with 5.1 audio and different encoding presets, but I do not like I encode my audio and video separately in order to bring them in again.  Impossible to believe that we STILL have to do that...

Anyway, if I am not mistaken, it is preferable to use H.264 now, so my question is this:

What is the duration of maximum quality project (which fits on one disc BD SL) if I use H.264 as the encoder of 1440x1080i, high quality, with a 5.1 audio soundtrack?  My source material is HDV if it matters.  I guess a related question is with H.264, what are the recommended settings/bitrate in order to obtain a maximum or high quality with this codec?  I had it all figured out for MPEG-2!

    Thanks for the ideas,

    BJBBJB1

It's an interesting question, although I have no SOUL CS6, only SOUL CS5.5.

I do not think that the video codec should really matter for the calculation of the amount of space taken a particular, although transmission speed if you are using a rate higher for audio, which will count.

for example. a video (no audio) encoded, particular long with an average bitrate of 20 Mbps with the H264 video codec would take the same amount of space as 20 Mbps video (no audio) encoded with Mpeg2 codec.

    These are the raw numbers:

for example. (all other things being equal):

A 2 hour Mpeg2 video encoded at an average of 20 Mbps would take about 17,58 GB

A 2 hour video H264 encoded at an average of 20 Mbps would also take about 17,58 GB

It seems that CS6, and improved video codecs, the impulse is to start using the H.264 or MPEG-2.  Don't I have that right?

I do not have CS6, but in terms of image quality at a given flow, H264 should give a better image quality than Mpeg2.  (as a very rough idea - and that perhaps not quite correct, but I think at low bitrates (around 10 Mbps?)) H264 is supposed to be equivalent to a mpeg2 to double the speed of transmission).  for example. 10 Mbps H264 might look roughly the same as a 20 Mbps Mpeg2 video.  Although at much higher rates and the same resolution HD, the difference will be less, or so high enough bitrate, it probably will not be a difference).

I do not have CS6, but I guess it also depends on how much space the audio track takes up.  You use a codec audio lossless or loss?  About what average bitrate is your audio (if this will depend on what your audio lossless)?

Unless she uses a higher rate for audio, the duration, you can keep on with H264 would be identical to Mpeg2 - although H264 should give you a better image quality than Mpeg2 the same transmission speed, you could probably reduce the video bitrate compared to how you would with Mpeg2.

My brute (perhaps not entirely accurate) Calc:

Total average bitrate 18.9 Mbps would give you about 3 hours of video with audio on a 25 GB disc (for example if the audio was about 4.1 Mbps and video 14.8 Mbps).

Total average bitrate 28 Mbps should give you about 2 hours of video with audio on a 25 GB disc

Total average bitrate 35 Mbps should give you approximately 1 hour 37 minutes of video with audio on a 25 GB disc

    ---

In the preset for ' level Bitrate: high "in CS5.5, with a resolution of 1440 x 1080, with a high profile, level 4.0/4.1, it gives a flow target for video (no audio) of 18.75 Mbps

If we assume audio is about 4.1 MB/s (the real value will depend on the real Mbps of your audio files),.

    This would give a total average bitrate (video + audio) of 18.75 + 4,1 MB/s = 22.85 Mbps

To 22.85 Mbps total for medium flow, it should give you about 2 hours and 29 minutes (ie. about 24,94 GB), but you would need to leave a little space for menus (maybe assume the durations you can adapt are a little less that this is safe).

  • Recommend Blu - Ray burning software

    Hi all

I can find a BLu - Ray burner, but the software that allows you to burn BLu - Ray still seems a bit sketchy.

One below looks good, but many say that you must purchase additional software for blu - ray burning.

I have toast, but an older version and do not want to pay just to be able to burn blu = ray.

Is it safe to burn it to Blu - Ray in the FCX? This option requires no other software right? The iMac and FCX

I don't want to play for money just to watch some Blu-Rays on my computer. Is there any free software knows that works beyond (the last security DRM) DRM format Blu - Ray, which won't let me watch Blu-Rays on my PC?

Microsoft does not provide playback of blu - ray.

If you bought the drive blu - ray by itself, check the installation CD, they usually come with software full version - you can check the packaging. If that's where you got from Cyberlink, check if there is a key in the documentation or the cd cover.

The only other option would be to seek a free - make sure it is from a reliable source.

I am a wedding videographer and tried to give a couple their latest video for weeks.

I have created 8 different images of the final video but no luck.  I put the disc in my PS3 and it stutters and freezes and random points.

I put the disc in another Sony stand-alone player and he did the same thing.  I then put the disc in a Sharp Blu - ray player, and he played without any problems.

I even tried to use another brand of discs to see if that would fix it but still not.  I tried using dynamic links, then meida encoder for blu ray file and brining the file in again.  Still nothing seems to help.

I have menus, the motion only I have is music.  They are all menus of stand alone, bound between them (no pop-up)

The only thing I have not yet tried burning an mpeg instead of h.26 file.  Not sure if this will help.

Anyone else have any suggestions on how to overcome this problem?  I've never had before.  I did many projects in encore and played very well on the PS3

But it doesn't seem to matter how much I do versions, or changes I.

    Thank you

It seems that the creation of the disc in mpeg2 blu ray has solved my problem.  This isn't the Ps3 very easily and quickly read more problems!
