Encryption of Gigabit

Hi all

I'm looking for a Cisco router (preferably) for a design I have write

who is able to carry out a Gigabit throughput and IPSEC encryption

at this rate.

Any ideas/experience? It is a MPLS VPN connection and we hear

using DMVPN with IPSEC for encryption of the EC - ec. That's a financial House and headquarters

Circuit must be gigabit.

Thank you all

Stephen

Stephen,

I'm not sure of current sheets, perhaps better to do a ping of a Cisco self?

Possible solution cat6k + VPN SPA or ASR1k (not sure that sheets are saying about this last tho)

Marcin

Edit: ASA will not manage DMVPN so I did not mention 5580.

Find the link, I had in mind

With regard to the experience...

If you don't want one not far from the step configuration guide, VPNSPA is very correct.

ASR1k has a good potential, but it's still new, a great team so internally.

  • Encrypted in 6120XP ports

    Hello

I am new to Cisco UCS, I am currently studying the guide hardware install Cisco UCS fabric of interconnection 6100 series in the following link.

    http://www.Cisco.com/c/en/us/TD/docs/unified_computing/UCS/HW/switch/ins...

What follows is mentioned in the guide.

    Cisco UCS 6120XP

There are 20 to 28 ports on the 6120XP Cisco UCS, according to which the expansion module is installed. Fixed ports form group 1 and are named 1 /port_number. Ports 1 to 20 are not encrypted Ethernet ports. Among them, 1 to 8 ports 10 Gigabit Ethernet and ports to 1 Gigabit Ethernet support. Group 2 includes ports in the module extension or modules. Group 2 ports 1 to 4 are of the Ethernet ports. Group 2 ports 5-8 are Fibre Channel ports.

There are altogether has 20 ports in the FI, here, it is mentioned that ports 1 to 8 ports 10 giga, I want to know what other 12 ports. ? What is the speed of these ports.

Also, I want to know what is the difference between an encrypted Ethernet port and an Ethernet port isn't encrypted.

    Enjoy your time.

    Thank you

    Manny.

Hey Manny!  Welcome to UCS :)

First of all, you are looking to some obsolete hardware.  The 6100 s were first generation and were end of sale for a few years now.  You should look at the 6200 s instead (http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/unified_computing/ucs/hw/6200-insta...)

To answer your question, the 6100 s support for 1/10 giga on the first 8 ports, but the last 12 ports were strictly 10gig.  This is no longer the case on 6200 s, which are all 1/10 giga-capable.  I think that the unencrypted comment is related to a lack of effect, which is based on hardware encryption L2 between endpoints.

  • iPhone restore backup encryption bug in iTunes

First the details of my system:

    El Capitan 10.11.6

    iPhone iOS 6 10.0.2

    iTunes 12.5.1.21

    Steps to reproduce:

1 backup the by using the encrypted password (current running iOS 10) iPhone

    2. once the backup is complete change password encrypted from A to B

    3. restore the iPhone using the backup.

The backup cannot be restored with A password or password B.

I think that most people would say I forgot the password B. You would be a mistake. Password B was stored in my keychain and it wouldn't work. To check that I had the correct password, I downloaded a password free utility cracking. For some reason, these utilities are available for Windows only. I used the utility of tenorshare. Since I was sure I knew the password, I used boxes of prefix and suffix of the utility to verify that the password is correct. The utility shows you only the first 2 characters of your password once he finds her. Since I am sure that I knew the password, I put the first 7 characters of the password in the prefix box password and he assumes that the last of them (which I knew that). Then I put the first 6 characters of the password in the prefix area of password and the last character in the zone suffix and guess the second to the last character (which I knew that too). In both cases, he finds the password, which confirmed that all my characters were correct, but iTunes would not accept. At this point, I was convinced this is an Apple bug, so I googled some more and found this blog https://deciphertools.com/blog/ios-10-backup-password-incorrect/ which confirms:

"If you recently changed your password backup in iTunes, and iTunes is now reports that 'the password was incorrect' when you try to restore this backup, then we may be able to help."

There is a small problem affecting backups iOS 10 - sometimes changing password causes backup the password being rejected (both new and old passwords) when you try to use the backup that you did. »

I was able to solve my problem of password associated with the procedure.

My backup was too important to wait for a solution possible iTunes. Apple should recognize this problem and have a fix as soon as POSSIBLE.

  • Encrypted hard drive Geo

I'm on a Mac of Sierra, and I would like to know how to encrypt disks according to the time and place. Please do not share links to complicated solutions because I probably won't be able to follow. Is there a software that can put in a variable to the AES? Any help is appreciated.

Could provide more details on exactly what you hope to gain with geo-encryption?

  • After that the SSD has been deleted, is it too late to use encryption for more security before selling?

My goal is to make my data inaccessible to the person who will buy my Macbook opportunity. While I'm fully aware that this is an almost impossible task to delete really an ssd, I read that if you encrypt everything before you wipe the drive and reinstall the OS, at least, the recovered data can be read.  However, I read these seemingly wise advice AFTER I had already deleted my Macbook and reinstalled the operating system.  So, the question is with my 'deleted' data and the operating system reinstalled, activation of encryption at this point will achieve my goal, or still will remain unencrypted data previously of the ' erased '?

Thanks in advance for your answer.

    She will remain unencrypted.

  • Universal Clipboard is encrypted and how the data is stored in iCloud

    Hello

You need a deep understanding of the works of the new, universal Clipboard feature safety? The feature is nice, but do you copy your password by company store system administrator password... This password is moving all over the world and also through Apple servers... Don't make me happy.

Who can guarantee that the communication is encrypted and the data stored in iCloud are not used for other purpose?

    Thanks and greetings

Security and privacy - Apple Support Overview iCloud

Although not listed here, all data transmitted to the Apple servers is encrypted in transit and on the server.

I can't offer any advice on the question of whether your transmissions could be intercepted and decoded.

They say they also unequivocally that they never provide encryption keys to any third party. Which has been further strengthened with their recent dealings with the FBI.

You'll have to decide for yourself if you agree with what Apple says.

  • Mail.app: S/Mime encrypted attachments do not work under MacOS Sierra

    Hello

I can't send or receive attachments when messages are encrypted with S/Mime since the upgrade to Sierra. Attachments sent and received on a MacOS-El-Capitan is available on El Capitan. But the same messages with attachments is more available on Sierra, as well as new messages with attachments sent from Sierra can be viewed on El Capitan or Sierra. Looks like the handling of encrypted attachments is completely screwed.

The indication for messages with encryption and signature is still flaky and is not consistent.

The indications for encryption and signing is a bug for years. What is interested in someone at Apple Mail.app and S/Mime? It doesn't seem a Herculean task to do things, and it is a core feature.

  • Encrypted Apple iPhone backup password

I don't know how to reset my password from encrypted backup! And I need help fast.

Only if you know the password, no password, you cannot restore, period.

There is no work around this security feature.

You need to restore as a new, wiping all info on the iPhone, then make sure that encryption is not on when you save.

  • can application not available I restore the data from an encrypted backup?

I had to get my iPhone repaired, so I did a full backup to iTunes and reset Once it was fixed, I have restored the backup, but a few apps "could not be restored. In the case of the one that interests me, the app no longer seems to exist on the App Store - I found a link for it from a review of old, but the link is dead: the app no longer exists. Since it is an application that stores data on the heights of our children, and I had used it for a few years, I would like to be able to recover at least the RAW files of my support, even if the app no longer exists. It is not a large amount of data. The backup is encrypted, so none of the files have names that are meaningful, it is impossible to guess what file is associated with that particular application. Any suggestions?

If you have the app in the iTunes library on your computer you can restore it from there.

  • On the utility of record pass-protected when the disk is encrypted

    Dear all,

I recently put my hands on a new internal drive SSHD and decided to quantify using filevault. Keep important documents on my mac, I used to create folders of password-protected using a disk with disk utility image. Now, my question is simple: is there a utility on the creation of these encrypted files as all the disk itself is already encrypted? This would add valuable new protection?

Thank you very much in advance,

    Richard

Data sheet: mid - 09 13 MBP "2.26 GHz with internal WD 1 TB SSHD

If your disc is encrypted, then the only way that anyone (including YOU) can look at the contents of your Volume is to provide your password to disk, which we hope is a long and strong password, not only a short practice. Depending on how paranoid you are, perhaps you fell there is additional value on encryption more away from the additional items. But for extra security, the password for your encrypted disks in addition should not be readily available on your drive any just-encypted.

Most users have very good success with encrypted Volumes. They manage to protect their records from the person mostly likely to access - themselves. DO NOT ENCRYPT YOUR DRIVE WITHOUT CREATING A RELIABLE BACKUP! The encryption is strong - there is no 'rescue' for an encrypted Volume that goes wrong for any reason, including failure of the drive.

  • Airport Extreme dislike gigabit speed

I'm having a strange problem. Backstory... I have an older Ooma VoIP device. It works very well.  The connection is Modem > Ooma > router - my modem (ARRIS Surfboard SB6141) and I use Airport Extreme. When the devices are connected as indicated everything works fine. The modem has a 'connection' light which is orange with this configuration. According to the manual of the modem, this light indicates Ethernet (10Base-T) or Fast Ethernet (100Base-T) is running.  When I remove the Ooma system and connect the modem directly to the router, the yellow led lights up blue saying that the signal that the modem sends is now a high-speed Gigabit Ethernet (1000Base-T).  Sounds great, but my router then ceases to broadcast and distribute a signal, directly and without wire connected with a cat6 cable.

You could say, then leave him alone and I can do, but I'm willing to reconfigure my system with updated Ooma device, and causes my modem from orange to blue, thus losing my Wi - Fi.  I talked to Arris (modem does not work as expected), I talked to Ooma (if the signal is working on their device, they see not the problem). So that the leaves of the router.  Can anyone figure out what's going on? Why did I lose my signal when I go directly from the modem to the router when the speed seems to be better?  (Yes, I restart both modem and router in the right order).

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    David

It seems that your Ooma device only supports (up to) 100 Mbps Ethernet connections. On the other hand, does your AirPort Extreme support 1 Gbps Ethernet.

The reason why you can be make connectivity issues when connecting your Arris modem to an extreme that is there has been many positions related to this. Specifically and the problem of incompatibility between the SB61XX series modems and airport base stations. This is not bad in themselves, they just don't "play well" together. Typical complaints is poor, transfer rate, and inconsistent Internet connectivity.

    Basically, you have two choices:

    1. Replace the Arris modem with another modem series of non-SB61XX. If you plan to go this route, you must select a modem recommended by your ISP.
    2. Replace your extreme with a non-Apple router.
  • Everyone is dismayed to see that there is no password recovery or reset secure put in place for encrypted backups?

I am absolutely amazed that there is no recovery password for iPhone backups encrypted.

    (1) no password is required to access the iTunes application. He launched and the phone connects automatically.

    (2) someone might maliciously put a password. The password for Mac or device using iTunes OSx need at least before setting the encryption password.

    (3) there is no recovery option. None. Tell me: what password-protected sensitive data have NO option of recovery? No secret questions, no e-mail link, no OSx password, nothing. It's horrible.

I'm in a situation where I remember not the password, and even if I had the foresight to write it somewhere, that the hard copy has disappeared. I suffer a miserable condition where I lose memory. I have reset passwords on all my stuff course often. That's just my new reality.

I am faced with a situation where if I ever need to restore my device or upgrade to a new, I won't lose all my old texts and local health data in my applications (which is essential for a person with health problems). The loss of memories of conversations for a person who relies on these devices, precisely because I lose my memory is a slap in the face.

What the risk of COMPUTER audit team approved this feature, Apple? It's quite incredible that a company of your size would be created people to fail like this. Please post a fix in iTunes for password recovery and substitute it. PLEASE, I BEG YOU.

N ° if there is a way to recover or reset, the encryption would be completely useless.

Exercise good security practices on the computer where you have installed iTunes and you will not you care about someone maliciously setting a password for backups.
