Ends my USB never formatted

My USB is broken and I am trying to fix it so I try to reformat the USB and this is the problem of USB never ends formatting. USB is a 16 GB EDGE DiskGO here is a picture of what it looks like

The blue bar at the bottom of the page just stays there and everything is progressing also at the bottom where it says estimated time remaining 33 minutes. Then continue upward (as now it says I have 37 minutes from the end) I left alone for hours before hoping that it will make progress and there never.

The C2 model mentioned in the image seems to be a USB flash drive. It is quite possible that the drive is faulty. If you have access to a PC, you may want to test the flash under Linux or Windows disk reformatting and then try to reformat again on a Mac. However, don't be fooled a possibly faulty drive. USB 16 GB flash drives are cheap today, so it would be wise to buy a new one instead.

    Hello everyone,

I use a PXI chassis with controller PXI-8196 and multiple PXI DAQmx cards. I need to format the hard drive on the target of PXI and reinstall the RT operating system as well as all other software. I am trying to restart the PXI with a USB bootable, but it gives me the option to format the hard drive.

Here are the steps I followed.

    1. I created the disk bootable with MAX using the RT disc utilities > create Desktop PC USB Drive Utility (PXI-8196 does not have a floppy drive so I have to use a USB key)

    2. I have connected a keyboard and screen to target to see it start.

    3. I've also adjusted the sequence of boot as the boot option "USB HDD: LEXAR JUMPDRIVE SPORT" among those available in the boot sequence has the highest priority. (My USB is a USB of LEXUS so I'm sure that this particular option must be the first in the sequence).

4 but once I start my system. It does not give me the option to format (according to MAX documentation should give me an option to "format hard drive"). Here's what I see on the screen connected to the target

= = The output to the screen is bounded by these two rails =.

Stay away from PC World and other 'big box' stores. If you cannot do the following works yourself (and there is no shame in admitting this isn't your cup of tea), take the laptop to a local professional. Get recommendations from family, friends and colleagues.

    1. remove the hard drive and put it in a USB drive enclosure (or use an adapter) and attach it to a working computer. Then, copy your data.

    2. Once your data is safe, put the drive in the laptop and do a factory restore. If all goes well, after that, restore your data from the copy that you made. If everything is not well and/or the factory restore does not work yet, you have the hardware failure. What you do then much will depend on which components have failed and how old is the laptop; that is, it is worth spending anything to fix. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

  • Key USB VMFS format

Hello, I am new on ESXi and use a server at home as a learning tool. I just installed ESXi 4.0.

My configuration is: host with ESXi 4.0 running from USB (4 GB), my main drive of the virtual machine is an array of two drives of 250 GB RAID1 and my storage "in bulk" is a disk of 320 GB SATA (non-RAID).

My goal: save the main VM walk on a portable USB drive.

I bought the USB it's a WD My Passport 250 GB drive.

After you have enabled SSH, I plugged it on the host computer, via SSH, I can see the operating system recognizes (it appears in fdisk - l). I then run fdisk /dev/disks/mpx.*** (laptop drive), delete all partitions, create a new partition, primary #1, type VMFS and configured to use the entire disk. I write the changes to disk, and after a fdisk-l reflects the changes... Everything is good.

I was not sure how much exactly on what FS to put it on disk, but eventually see only how VMFS from the ESXi host (as much as I KNOW I can't format it ext3 to ESXi).

    The problem: I run: vmkfstools - ch. /dev/disks/mpx.vmhba35*** vmfs3

After half a second, I get the following error message:

Creating vmfs3 file system on "mpx.vmhba35:C0:T0:L0:1" with 1048576 block and volume, "nil".

Usage: vmkfstools - ch. vmfs3/vmfs/devices/disks/vml... or,

Someone would have an entry on it? I'm a little puzzled.

Thank you very much, I appreciate the help.

I know, you cannot format a disk/USB with VMFS.

Is unsupported and seems it is not possible.

Bought Western digital passport essential 160 GB hard drive for use with record PVR by USB

Need to reformat the drive with exFat.

It's seems to be some hidden files with WD to allow the HDD become active when it is plugged - I reformatted to FAT32 but receive two discs while it is plugged - one for Western digital and one for swissknife that I used to put in the form of NTFS to Fat32.

  • Windows 7 does not recognize FAT32 formatted devices / Windows asks you to format a USB device in FAT32

I have a question about Windows recognizes only not USB devices formatted in FAT32.

The biggest symptom is Windows asking to format any device that has FAT32 (indicates RAW file format in disk management. The format will fail unless NTFS is used (which is unacceptable for the SD cards used in cameras, etc.).

I have a Toshiba Satellite P755 with USB 3 port and three USB 2 ports, running under Windows 7 64-bit. Type computer apparently and for most device type is not relevant to this subject after doing some extensive research.

    1. I tried SFC / SCANNOW with no result

    2. I uninstalled all the USB drivers and drivers of devices on SD card with no result

    3. I created a new profile and flies over my files with no result

    4. I searched the net and found a plethora of people having the same problem on several versions of Windows but not confirmed of the solution.

    5. I tried the fix for troubleshooting of hardware from Microsoft with no result.

The devices I've used are pen drives, to several types of SD cards flash drives and external hard drives. These devices are confirmed to work on several other computers configurations in different windows. When formatted in NTFS all works but like I already said, SD cards will not work in the cameras etc. to NTFS.

I think that the computer of wiping and again is not the problem. After researching, I discovered this problem has been around for many years and followed by Windows XP throughout Windows 8 forums and blogs that I read. I'm surprised Microsoft doesn't have a fix for this yet.

Hello and sorry for the delay.

I tried this before with the same results. My pen drives and large SD card worked until the problem occurred. Windows 7 has lost the ability to recognize the FAT32 devices.

I think I found the problem, however. My USB key must have failed in some way. After checking all my media work properly on a free desktop running windows 7 64, I jumped into a thumb sansa player and that's when I started having errors on this computer as well. This time, no data survived.

I went back to my laptop and formatted by a new copy of windows Professional 64-bit. The laptop works great and recognizes all FAT32 media I throw at it. I do not use the USB key suspect for fear that it might cause problems again.

And so far so good a few weeks later. Everything works great. I used FAT32 media without any problem. I'm sure it was the reader. I guess that he worked at masked the fact that it was the cause of the problems. Strange that this would produce windows FAT32 to reject.

  • Toshiba Store Art 4 USB 3.0 1 TB works not with USB3.0 or USB 2.0 port

    Hello
I have a big problem with my external hard drive and I hope someone can help me.

    Here's the thing:

I used my external drive only on computers that don't have any port usb 3 and all worked well. The drive has been used only with usb ports 2.

Now, I got a computer with a usb port 3 and I was happy to be able to use my external hard drive at full speed.
Has been fine until I wanted to transfer a file using my drive.

The disc has been recognized either of usb ports 2. The NTFS partition is a partition BRUTE! I had to ' chkdisk/f G:' to make it work again on my usb ports 2. And some files were missing!

Then, back on my other computer (usb port 3), the contents were not the same! I mean some of the files that I deleted when it is plugged into usb 2 returned when plugged usb ion 3! And then, back to the usb 2, partition became RAW and I had ' chkdisk/f G:'... once again!

So, to make it as simple as possible, after some testing, it seems that the drive can only be used on the usb ports 2-only on ports usb 3 but can not be used at a time, which is very annoying for a portable external hard drive.

I tried to format the drive to my usb port 2 and return on the usb port 3, the content came as if I had never formatted it and then back on the usb port 2, the RAW score again...

I use Windows 7 and 8.1 Windows computers.

Someone at - it experience that? What is the drive (Toshiba Store Art 1 TB USB3 4)? What is the USB 3 specification? Is - Windows 7 or 8.1 drivers?
And above all: what can I do?

    Thank you very much!

This external plug & play Toshiba HDD supports two USB standards: USB 3.0 and USB 2.0
HARD drive around needs bus power 900mA to work correctly.

The USB 3.0 port supports this standard 900mA. The USB 2.0 port allows only to 500mA.
If in case the HARD disk is not working properly connected to the USB 2.0 port, I recommend you to use a USB cable to Y in order to connect the 2 ports USB 2.0 HARD disk.

I have no idea why the content on the HARD drive is different, but from my point of few of the USB standard does not affect content.

In my opinion, the HARD drive wasn't working properly using a USB 2.0 due to the low power.

By the way: this HARD drive supports some additional features like the ability to oversight function and monitor to alert of the disk space that sends a alert when there is not enough available storage space.

For advanced users, Toshiba has added the ability to customize the backup routine, including the ability to select only the most common file types for backup and change how many times a backup takes place.

  • I need to control and communicate with a cell - Mecmesin Multitest 2.5 k - via USB/serial - ideas?

    Help!

I am currently working on a project where I apply force on a hardware - software (non-associated labview) who is provided with the tool (Mecmesin Multitest 2.5 k) allows to control but (of course), I want to control it using LabView, as well as plot data using LabView.

This issue has developed several years on these forums, but it was never a good answer. I'm suitable for use of LabView for the simplicity of programming (loops, arrays, sorting data etc.), but am a newb in most other respects--unless companies have subVIs!

The tool is now using a USB-serial connection (PC - end is USB). I think I could use rs232-rs232, but someone in the dept said it still doesn't work, which could mean that the cable series is cheesy. I wish it works however, USB, as ideally something else is connected to the serial port currently.

Is this possible? If Yes, can anyone help?

The next step is to open the manual for programming the instrument. Determine the commands that you need to send to the device and to understand how the device sends information. You can use the signs VISA for that test or program such as Hyperterminal. To send something to the instrument, you use an entry VISA (tab ViWrite) and for the data, a VISA read (ViRead).

  • HP Pavilion dv7-6c02sm USB 3.0 only works with the 2.0 speed;

    Hello

My HP Pavilion dv7-6c02sm has 2 USB USB 3.0 ports on the left site of my laptop. Currently, I installed these "sp55102" driver - Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 host controller driver

When I connect my WD 1 TB USB3.0 ports chip I just get the message that he could run faster if I connect through a Super speed USB3.0.

I tried all ports and all give me the same answer. I googled for a manual and myself made sure that my USB 3.0 are on the left side. And ports give me the same notification so I think it will be a driver problem. Could not find a better then sp55102.

When I copy files, the left USB ports work at a lower rate than normal USB 2.0 on the right side.

On the side USB 2.0 right arround 25 Mb/s and the left a USB 3.0 starts at 25 and plunges in 13-15 Mb/s

I formatted my drive and installed new firmware for my external hard drive, but it does not solve my problem so I'm pretty sure it's a driver issue, but I can't find a more suitable, more recent and better driver.

    Product: A9X57EA #BED

    Help, please. Thank you

    Hello

    Ok... I've solved the mystery

After hours hours of research online I thought that it is mostly a problem of windows 7 because windows updates are not installed to the end. In the end only USB worked with 3.0 but there was an optional windows update install and atfer install the optional update (which is dealing with something) the two USB 3.0 working at a speed of 120 MB/s

Also, you should check your chipset on the following link

    http://www.Intel.com/p/en_US/support/idyp

If you use the latest version on the drivers to install Renesas Electronics USB 3.0 host controller driver. I found this to be the last version USB3.0_allOS_2.1.28.1_PV

So if anyone has the same problems with his speed USB3.0 and make the message "this device can perform faster if you connect it to a Super speed usb 3.0" is really the solution. You need to update your system with windows update and by that I mean, you want to be rushed to insatll everything to the system and upgrade your windows to the possible limit maximum!

    Hello

If you want to format the laptop, there are different types of formatting - http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/installing-and-reinstalling-windows-7

If you are looking to CLEAN install Windows (nothing recorded, new installation):

To install Windows 7 using the custom option and formatting the hard drive:

To format your hard disk during Windows 7 installation, you'll need to start, or boot, your computer using the Windows 7 installation disc or a USB flash drive.

    1. Turn on your computer so that Windows starts normally, insert the Windows 7 installation disc or a USB flash drive, and then turn off your computer.

    2. Restart your computer.

    3. Press a key when prompted and then follow the instructions that appear.

    4. In the page install Windows, enter your language and other preferences, and then click Next.

If the page install Windows does not appear and you are not prompted to press a key, you may need to change some settings of the system. To learn how, see start your computer from a disk to install Windows 7 or USB flash drive.

    5. On the Please read the license terms page, if you agree to the terms of the license, click on I accept the terms of the license and then click Next.

    6. On the type of installation do you want? page, click Custom.

    7. On the place where you want to install Windows? page, click drive options (Advanced).

    8. Click the partition you want to change, click the formatting option you want to run and follow the instructions.

    9. When you are finished formatting, click Next.

    10. Follow the instructions to complete the installation of Windows 7, include the name of your computer and setting up an initial user account.

  • 2.04 Ubuntu comments on VMware Workstation 9 under Win7 can't see ext4 USB drive

Comments from 2.04 Ubuntu on VMware Workstation 9 under Win7: on computer A trivially, I connected to an out-of-the-box 64 GB USB drive formatted for VFAT on Ubuntu in a VM. I re-init'ed the player for ext4 (mkfs.ext4), mounted, drop a bunch of stuff on him (which took awhile), he dismounted and walked away. The next day, identically configured computer B, I inserted the USB key. Natch, Win7 may not go up because it does not ext4. But Ubuntu don't see either, so I can't be installed. Do not see under removable devices, no small icon bottom left of the screen of VMware, nothing in the settings menus or properties, etc. I think it's just me being a noob to VMware, but it seems that Ubuntu under VMware Workstation 9 cannot see the drive unless Win7 can go up. Seems unlikely. KB searching, Googling, etc. produce many unrelated things. Ideas? AdvTHANKSance.

Here is the final answer: works great on an earlier version of VMware Workstation 9 on one of the Windows 7 of my client machines, it didn't work on my Windows 7 computer. I upgraded to VMware Workstation 10 on my Windows 7 computer, and now it works perfectly. If I call you this a bug in this version later 9 which was set at 10. Could also be had I simply uninstalled 9 and reinstalled which would have fixed it too. But I'll never know.

  • v125W 16 GB USB Flash Drive reporting disk full when moving some files

Let me apologize in advance if I put this topic in the wrong forum!

Hi all! I received a v125w 16 GB USB Flash Drive for Christmas (link). Works just fine until I went to move some files .iso to DVD on it so that I can transfer them on my netbook to watch while I'm away from home for long periods of time. in any case.

The .iso files are standard DVD rips of discs I own, so the question of the integrity of the hacking or file is not a problem here. The .iso files work very well on my desktop, I can be read and can also burn backups without a hitch.

Each .iso file is at 4.35 concerts after a tear. When I try to drag and drop them on the flash drive, windows tells me that the destination disk is full and I need to free up space. I get this message, even when there is absolutely no other files on the flash drive.

I put the .iso file into a new empty folder and tried to move in this way, but it gives me the same results. So I threw a bunch of other files in a folder (any of my .iso files) and got 7 concerts in total. He moved very well in the flash player.

I ripped a DVD of my son and the resulting file is 3.28 GB in size. I can move this .iso on the FlashDrive without problem.

But now I'm at the end of my rope as to why this is happening and what to do now. It has no sense to me at all. If someone here on the Forum could provide some advice on what I need to I would really appreciate it. I prefer not having to sit on hold with HP my entire weekend.
