Entity Framework Code-First and Oracle 11g

Entity Framework Code First migration is supported on Oracle 11 g Server?  In general, is the last ODAC 12 c backward compatible and will work correctly with 11g?

Thank you.

The answer is Yes to both questions.

    Hello

    in our database, they use number (1.0) to store Boolean values. Unfortunately I can not this maps to a bool in my EDM. It does not work:

    I'm sure the architects of Oracle did think about how store Boolean values in databases. Can someone enlighten me please?

    You have not, Code first no is not supported by ODP.net. For DB first or the first model, the entrance of config file to make it looks like this:

  • How to automatically generate associations in the EDMX using Entity Framework 'database first'?

    Hello.  I'm new on Entity Framework and the database that I connect Oracle 10 g.  I develop using Visual Studio 2015, ODAC 12 c version 4 with the installed Visual Studio Tools and EF 6.1.3.  I am generation an EDMX model from an existing database.  In the Visual Studio wizard, I select the existing tables that have relationships of foreign key between them.  The resulting EDMX contains the tables and their columns, but no association.  I tried to do this using the code first of all existing database Wizard, and the results are similar: classes for the tables and column properties, but still no association or the properties of a class to contain instances of another.  Should I be not expecting associations to be created automatically?  Is there something I missed?

    I'm back in it and found out what the problem was.  Before you create the entity data model, I had to have the connection already defined in Server Explorer * using the ODP.NET* provider.

  • Installation guide for BPM SOA Suite and Oracle 11g

    Does anyone know of a good installation guide for a new installation of the following SOA and BPM of Oracle 11 g (Windows 64 bit)?

    I'm looking to the 'Setup Guide quick for Oracle SOA Suite and Oracle Business Process Management Suite 11 g Release 1"(http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/install.1111/e14318.pdf), but it is a bit dated (April 2010) and I see that is missing a few steps.

    Thank you

    Take a look at the for Oracle SOA Suite 11 g 1 material (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/soasuite/overview/quickstartguidesoasuite11gr1ps3-313245.pdf) Quick Start Guide.

    The steps that do not appear in the document you mentioned are included in this document. It takes you through the necessary extra step for the installation of Oracle BPM. Although for 11.1.1.4, it works very well for implementing 11.1.15 in a DEV environment.

  • SQL Loader and Oracle 11g

    Hello

    IM receiving a sqlldr: not found error. IM is going to discuss with our system of administration of the situation. Before I wanted to make sure that SQL Loader (sqlldr) is an add-on available for customer Oracle 11. A colleague mentioned SQLLDR maybe isn't available as an add-on in the Oracle 11 client and that we should rather use IMPORT/EXPORT. Is that a true statement?

    Can someone please clarify these questions for me?

    Thanks a bunch!

    SQL * Loader is certainly available in 11.1 or 11.2 full client install. It may or may not be a component that is installed by default according to the type of installation you choose during installation. But you can always go back and install this component.

    If you mean the instant customer, I'm not sure that SQL * Loader or import and export work with the Instant Client.

    And just to the point, if you are using 11g, you usually would using external tables rather than SQL * Loader.

    Alex,

    Finally, we have solved the problem.  It turns out that we had a bad x 64 home path in the PATH variable.  I lost track of what it was originally, but I'm sure the x 64 bin path was correct. I did not notice that it was wrong, until I tried to install the full client and began to see an error indicating that it was missing a dll.  This led me to a post on the forum, in which you indicated that the PATH variable has not been set (ODAC 12 c for xcopy issues).  In our case, it is not missing, just fake.

    This is the behavior that we see if the PATH variable for the home directories and bin is incorrect:

    • Full client: an error of external system (no exceptions).  The error message is that the oraons.dll is missing.
    • XCOPY customer: generates an exception without error message.  The Exception.Message property is empty and there is no inner exception.

    Can the ODP team can add a meaningful message for this exception?  If the exact error cannot be highlighted during execution, a generic name on the path audit would help enormously.  I must have looked at it a dozen times and didn't notice that it was false.  If I had no idea that this could be the cause, it would be discussed more in detail, or had someone else Verify that it was correct.  I hope that we would have solved much earlier.

    Thank you.

  • First database with Oracle 12 c and Entity Framework 5: no foreign key in the EMD Associations

    We have an updated database implemented in Oracle 12 c R1. When attempting to reverse engineer the EMD of the DB using Visual Studio 2013 with ODAC 12 c Release 2 and Oracle developer Tools support all we get are entities with no association, despite multiple foreign keys defined in the database. There, of course, no navigation property in both entities. No error or warning messages are displayed and activate us the option "include foreign keys in the model columns.

    Does anyone have any idea why this might happen?

    If you use files PDB (pluggable database), there is a known bug (17474322) to generate an EDM with foreign keys in a PDB file. This is probably the question you are running in.

  • Entity Framework does not load the DB Oracle Types columns

    Hello world

    It is my first foray in EF and EF on Oracle, so go easy on me please!

    I use the ODAC beta 2 with VWD2010 and declaring my class of entity with the types of Oracle, for example. OracleString, etc. OracleDate.
    Everything seems ok, but when I insert my entity from the database, only DB columns reported in my class of entity types with .net (not the Oracle ones) are loaded.
    public class Customer {
    [Required]public string ACCOUNT {get; set;}
    [Required] public OracleString NAME{get; set;}
    }
    OracleDB _db = new OracleDB();
    string Account  = "TESTCLIENT";
    var customer = (from c in _db.Customer where c.ACCOUNT == Account select c);
    If in the case above, the entity has only the value of ACCOUNT set. The NAME value is set to null.
    If I change the channel NAME declaration, then it loads ok.

    Am I missing something? Or can we not use these types in EF?

    Thank you
    Nick

    You are not supposed to use the types of Oracle in the FE model. You use .net types and EF manages the conversion to types as necessary to interact with the Oracle database.

    I am facing a problem when integrating 3.2u3 Sun Cluster with RAC Oracle 11 g R2.

    So my question is: 3.2u3 work can Sun Cluster with Oracle 11g R2 RAC?

    Please help me to have a response in this case.

    Thank you very much

    HuyNQ.

    What I read Sun Cluster 3.2 is not supported with RAC 11 g R2 up to this time of September.
    The feature will be available via a patch of the cluster database.

    Sun Cluster is currently looking into /etc/init.d/init.crs to start the CRS (11g R1). With 11g R2, the startup for the GRID script is now etc/init.d/ohasd.

    SC supports HA 11 g R2, but not of CARS at the moment.

  • Oracle 11g compatibility with oracle 10g and 9i?

    Hi all

    I have a few questions about the compatibility of 11g.

    Client Oracle 11g is compatible with oracle 10g client that is already installed on the desktop computer?

    If any changes to do so and where?

    Is oracle 11g oracle 10 g/9i on the same server where are installed the 10 g/9i compatible?

    Concerning

    If the question you ask yourself is 'Can I have multiple versions of the Oracle installed on the same client computer' or "Can I have several versions of the database Oracle installed on the same machine", the answer is Yes. As long as you install each version in another House of Oracle, and we are talking about versions 8.1.5 and upward, you can have as many different versions of the client and the database on the same machine as you wish. Of course, you are still subject to the support of operating system compatibility (e.g. Oracle 9.2 did not had been supported on Windows 2008, so do not expect to work).

    The only problem you may have would be with components that are not compatible with several House. This mainly affects third-party Windows drivers (drivers third party ODBC, etc.) who do not know how to work with multiple Oracle homes and end up using which version of the client Oracle happens to appear first in the path.

  • First and After Effects crashed. Uninstalled is not for them. Use the cleaning tool. I deleted everything else. Tried to install CC again and it fails. 201 error code, I followed the steps and it does not work.

    Hello team,

    First and After Effects crashed.

    I tried to uninstall the utility (Mac OS). Uninstalled is not for them (which has worked for other applications).

    I used the cleaning tool. It seems to work, but the uninstaller for first and AE in the utility remained.

    I deleted everything I found CC remaining manually.

    I tried to install CC again and it fails. 201 error code, I followed the steps and it does not work.

    I don't know what to do anymore.

    Could someone help me?

    I got the help of Adobe support, they sent me another link to download Adobe App Mgr It was apparently a network problem but, and it was resolved after a few re-tent.
