Envy 15 3033 cl USB 3.0 no Worky
Hi all
I'm 15 3033 cl and I recently provided an image the PC with a new copy of Win 7 64. The only problem I have is that the USB 3.0 Renesas driver does not work. I get the little yellow triangle and States that she was able to start.
None of the 3.0 ports work. Just the single 2.0 on the right side.
I found the latest drivers and firmware and none of them seem to do the trick. I checked the bios and I can't yet settle the 3.0 ports to work as just 2.0.
Things I've done:
Bios update
Caught previous drivers and new drivers.
Uninstalled/Reinstalled several times
Several reboots after re-installing the drivers
All windows updates
Tired of a few different drivers.
I can't work with a single USB port. All the suggestions that I have not tried would be useful. Thank you
GOOD NEWS, it's corrected now.
It seemed to be a firmware issue and a driver problem. It lacked a USB 3.0 Hub. I got the solution here.

A9P58UA #ABA: cannot use recovery DVD in the DVD player laptop external Envy 15-3033 CL
I had to replace the hard drive of the laptop. A directed recovery DVD from HP. The internal DVD did not work, so I'm an external LG DVD player, model GP50NB40. I put the boot order in the BIOS to USB CD/DVD. However, the laptop does not recognize the DVD in the drive. I get a message this is something to the extent of the 'no disk bootable found '. I also hit F9 and selected the external drive to boot from without success. And for some reason, I also hit F11. Same message.
I tested the DVD drive on another computer and it works fine. I changed the USB cable on the laptop to another port. No change. Does anyone have an idea how to proceed to load the software on the new drive? Thank you in advace for your time.
Hello:
I see that your laptop has 2 USB3 ports and 1 USB2 port specifications.
You need to boot from the USB 2 port.
It would be the only suggestion I can offer.

HP envy x 2: restore HP Envy X 2 with USB
When I turn on / open my hp envy x 2 it brings me to the login screen. After I got the connection, the screen goes black and I can't do anything other than move the cursor. How can I reset with to be able to see the screen. ? I know you can use a USB key but how. ?
Hello
You do not have to reinstall the OS - try the following.
First of all, make sure you anchor the tablet on the keyboard section.
Start the computer normally, and then sign in.
Black screen, hold down the ctrl and alt keys and press delete.
Select Task Manager.
Click on file and select the new task.
Type rstrui - also enter a tick in the box for "create this task with administrative privileges" - and click on Ok.
When the system restore interface is loaded, choose a restore point at least 48 hours before the log - it occurs first and then proceed to the system restore.
If the above is not correct the problem, try to run the steps in the link below.
Kind regards

15 - q009tx envy: envy 15 the two usb right side get weird
A few days ago on the right side of my computer usb download problem.
When I turn on my computer, the mouse and the keyboard is connected, the keyboard and mouse would not work.
I need re-plugin it ito spin. Sometimes the keyboard num lock is turned on, but I can not yet anything tape until I re-plugin to make it work.
Furthermore, the keyboard of the laptop have no problem.
Hey @willho ,
Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I looked in your question on your HP ENVY 15-q009tx Notebook and problems with the keyboard. First of all, you need to remove the USB device. In Device Manager uninstall everything that is listed in keyboards and USB devices. Here is a link to uninstall the keyboard if you need. Restart the computer after the uninstall, it must be reinstalled automatically. Then put forward to USB mouse up to what the drivers updated. Then insert the keyboard.
Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant, if you need it. Simply download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system at the time of purchase.I would like to know how this happens.
Thank you.

HP Envy X 360 laptop USB 3.0 transfer speeds
Hello. I have envy of HP X 360 with an Intel i5 in it.
I also bought a Seagate USB 3.0 portable hard drive.
I only get speeds between 20-30 MB/s between them.
Why?
And Yes, the drive is plugged into one of the two USB 3.0 ports.
Hello @wvcadle ,
Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand that you are concerned at the speed of read/write of the USB 3.0 ports on your laptop.
The features of a Protocol do not indicate the typical real return. The maximum speed of USB 3.0 is 5 Gbps (gigabits per second) which translates to 640 Mbps (megabytes per second).
Note that B and b are very different by a factor of eight and lead to very different figures and are a huge complaint among people, the resolution of the speed problems.
That said, these specs: 640 Mbit/s is the maximum possible speed of technology and does not reflect in some way the speed you will actually live. Many things will slow down the speed of read/write of your computer. Process running on the laptop, CPU capacity, RAM speed, speed (rpm or SSD and lens travel speeds), or the size of the transferred file. The mechanical controls that operate at 7200 RPM (5400 is used) generally have a flow of some 80 to 100 Mbps.
Basically what I'm saying here is to take a car that can only go 55 mph, won't go faster if you drive on a street with a higher speed limit. (Sorry if this analogy comes off rude. "I want to ensure that the point is clear to some of the less technical than reading the forums).
When the protocols are created, they are written with capabilities in futuristic mind. It's a bit misleading to consumers because they expect these kinds of speeds when devices don't support even them yet, only the theoretical Protocol done.
Another important factor is if the unit is powered by or not USB. Peripheral USB powered generally operate at a slower speed than with their own dedicated power devices.
If you look at the reading and writing speed of most of the USB 3.0 devices, you will find that the real device (not port) tops out at about 100 Mbps, which even then still will provide not a speed of 100 Mbit/s in most cases once you take into account other variables posted previously.
Here's a good graphical representation what I mean for the peripheral communes.
If you want more information on USB 3.0 from one more credible source other than little ' ol read me this article published by PC Mag: USB 3.0 Tested: how fast is it in the real world? It is a bit outdated, but the same concepts apply today. Don't forget no USB 3.0 has been standardized in 2008, and this article was written in 2010. A lot of time for builders to get on board and do things together.
So the question is: what we do about it?
- Make sure you have a USB 3.0 cable connecting a player to the laptop.
- Make sure that the 3.0 drivers are installed from here: HP - drivers & downloads or the Intel Web site.
- Make sure controller xHCI is enabled in the BIOS and the BIOS is updated. (Access the BIOS via tapping F10 at startup.)
- A clean boot of Windows allows to eliminate the process and background services.
I hope that this information gives an overview of the problem. Let me know if you have any other questions.
-Edition formatting and grammar.

Envy Phoneix 850 160SE: USB 3.0 or USB 2.0 ports
Envy Phoneix 850 160SE (new)
I have not found any manual on HP site with photo showing what USB 10 locations (6 are 3.0 and 4 2.0) tell me that are 3.0 or 2.0 and none came with the office.
There are 4 USB ports on the front panel, say two specifications are usb 2 and 2 usb 3,.
two of the ports have a small ss beside them, but I can't find how to identify
which 2 are 2 and 2 usb usb 3 or what that means little ss.
(If I had to guess I think the 2 ports with the ss little beside them are usb 3)
The back of the desktop computer has 6 usb ports, 4 usb 3 and two usb 2, again not manual
or spec identifys who are usb 3 or usb 2. Also there is a group of 4 slots usb in a part of the back and another grouping of 2 connectors usb on the back, I guess that the Group of 4 is usb 3 and 2 group
are usb 2, but not sure I'm right.
Anyone know?
Thank you
Gary
Hi Gary,.
Review of the below pictures for the types of USB ports. SS refers to USB 3.
Thanks for posting on the forum.

HP ENVY 14 Notebook SPECTRUM: USB 3 does not
Hello
HP Envy laptop
Product number: A7U17UA #ABC
Win 7 Pro (64-bit) SP1
BIOS: F.06
When I plug a USB 3.0 device on my USB 3.0 port I get a BSOD every time.
I tried the hubs, external HARD disk (self powered and powered versions of bus) and get the same result every time.
These 3.0 devices work with other computers.
I removed all the USB drivers using the Device Manager and rebooted.
Windows reinstalled the drivers.
No luck, same problem
Do I need special drivers for this?
Please let know us if there is a solution.
Thank you

Hello
The first suggestion I want to do is to download and reinstall the switchable graphics driver on the following link as it lists a fix for WIDI.
When reinstalling com [full, restart the laptop.]
If you find that this did not correct the problem, try the download from Intel on the link below.

Envy 17-j141na: a USB 3.0 port only works on USB 2.0
Hello
I have a HP Envy 17-j141na (product number: J0C16EA #ABU) running Windows 8.1. I recently tried to connect a Sata hard drive via a USB 3.0 enclosure and found that the right rear USB port works with a USB 2.0 cable and any USB 3.0. There is no problem with any of the three other no ports just this one. Grateful for any help.
Thank you.
Hello Malygris1,
Thank you for your help and suggestions. I investigated further and found that the problem had become a problem on the port adjacent to the original track and then there are two with the same problem. I was struggling to believe I had lost a second port and so took risks on the purchase of an another leader of a different even if manufacturer initial lead was again with the Cabinet. The result was successful with all USB 3.0 ports. I can only assume that there was a faulty connection in original mind that failed when it was routed to one side of the laptop and not the other. Thanks again, I'm certainly glad that the fault was not in the computer.

HP Envy Phoenix before 4 USB ports
I don't like to sound stupid but I just got my new Phoenix envy at full load, and it is supposed to have a player of 15-in-1 memory card and 4 USB ports on the front panel. Everything I can see I have a Blu - Ray optical media player. There is a panel that I don't see? The long Panel on the front (where it says want TO) is not a business.
Please help, I think I'm missing something! There are two USB ports on top, but none of the others are present to the front or sides.
Hello
Look immediately under the expansion bay about a third of the way on the front Bezel. There should be a panel with a lip, I have a red light immediately over the lip on my case. Enter the lip and down the Panel. The card reader and USB ports are behind the sliding panel.

This post is an explanation of the complete absence of the laptop (2.0 & 3.0) USB ports and the later hotfix.
Suspecting a hardware failure, I ran the Diagnostics UEFI and received confirmation of a default by a character 27 failure code. This type of information is supposed to be useful to someone, but I couldn't find any documentation on this failure on the Web code and technician HP customer care has never offered an explanation. The ID of the failure, I received was:
0GF87X-7NW88A-GXGJMF-8D3Q03
I made arrangements to ship the laptop to HP repair, but while waiting to receive their shipping box, I continued to research. I happened to run System Mechanic from iolo and noticed a tool "Toolbox |" Recover | Troubleshooting of the system"that took me as a result of convenience store window 10. I ran the hardware and devices troubleshooter, and confirmed a problem with the USB ports. But, surprisingly, the fix was to install the latest driver for the Intel USB 3.0 eXtensible host controller (USBXHCI. (SYS).
Once the driver has been reinstalled, the USB port problem has been resolved. He worked for 3 days and I was able to back up my laptop on an external hard drive into a USB port, as I usually do.
So if you see a problem with your USB ports, which can resemble a hardware failure, it is better running of the utility window hardware & peripheral troubleshooting. It can save you an unnecessary repair work.
Best regards, Mike

As I understand it you had conducted a test of material using the UEFI diagnostic tool and received a failure ID, however, you install the latest driver and solved the problem.
I'm glad that worked for you, even if you keep the only common, the ID of the failure you captured represents a "Communication error" device on devices such as GPS, switch and/or USB, HUB, Modem, network card, network drive, PCI, PCMCIA card.Install the most recent driver is one of the first steps to solve the communication error, however, if the problem is intermittent because it sometimes a repair would be the best way to go.

driver for win 7 64 bit HP Envy 17 t 3000 USB bus controller
I had problems with my drawing tablet so I uninstalled my USB Drivers and accidentally deleted files as well as the pilot. When I rebooted my computer I went to the HP site and downloaded and installed the USB 3.0 driver.
As you can see in the other devices the USB controller has a problem. None of the USB drivers now work.
How can I fix it?
Thank you very much for your answer! However I found the solution to my problem here: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01868333
While he told me on the hp site where you search your computer and reinstall the drivers, reinstall the driver 'Renseas USB 3.0. My computer actually uses the driver "Intel 3.0.
SUCCESS. I was going to cry if I had to restore, or worse, if there is a problem with the motherboard.
