Envy 15: Incorrect registry permissions?

I recently bought this new pc week ago and since then I noticed that my regestry permissions are out of wack.  This all started when I realized that I didn't lock computer option when I used the Ctrl + Alt + Delete. After that, I noticed that my shutdown (stop) does not appear on the windows menu start and the computer says "I don't have permission to pin programs to my Start menu'. I don't know if HP has planned this or somewhere, I'm malweare from microsoft. I really want to do a new installation of Windows 8, because I have already installed Visual Studio, Eclipes, Microsoft Office and a work of Oracle database and they are all re install/create pain, in addition, they are vital for my school work. Is anyway safely restart my regestry or value all my default permissions?

Ivan, welcome to the forum.

This is a program that will reset the registry permissions.  Make sure you read all the instructions carefully; especially on the backup of your registry.  I downloaded the program and spin as I type.  I wanted to try it out before I gave it to you.  I had no problems, however.

  • INF installation failure

whenever I use the disk cleaner I get message infinstall failed.

reason: IO operation has been abandoned due to a thread exit or an application request

    Hello

1 did you change on your computer?

2 are you referring to disk cleanup in Windows or the disc cleaner as a third-party software?

Incorrect registry permissions as appropriate, would result in the INF installation failure error. Reason: Access is denied.

    Method 1:

Try to reregister the Windows Installer Service, and then run again the product in this step:

    a. on the ""Start " menu, click on"run:.

    b. in the ""Open " box, type"msiexec /unreg"and press ENTER."

  • Latest flash player installation fails in IE8/Win XP

I tried to install the latest version of Flash Player on my XP system for two days. Here is my system info:

Win = 32-bit Windows XP Media Center Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 3

Browser = Internet Explorer Version 8.0.6001.18702

Flash Player - one I used (recent but not a beta) has been uninstalled when I tried to install your latest version on your site in the usual way. After a few attempts to install, I downloaded and executed the Player uninstall program according to the instructions found on your site - Adobe® Flash® Player 10.1 software installation/uninstallation r53 - just to make sure I was doing a clean install. I also downloaded the latest version and it ran manually.

All attempts to install failed. I saw two different installers, BTW, and all two reported a failure but a reason and suggested to your troubleshooting page.

I went to the troubleshooting page, where I've tried everything, by the book.

More recent attempts produced the following message appears when you try to install on your site:

"The version of adobe flash player ActiveX that you are trying to install is not the most recent version. Please visit http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer_fr for the latest and most secure version. »

I went to this page, again without success. There is no Flash x components listed in my active browser objects.

I managed to install the latest version of the Shockwave Player (I tried, just to see if that would fail, but who succeeded).

I must add that I work from web using Flash 8, so it's also on my system, but I've ever run into a problem installing a newer Flash Player up to now. (And I've been using Flash since before Macromedia, when it was called FutureSplash.)

    Obviously, HELP!

It almost made me. Countless installs / uninstalls, Poirier, etc later, I finally found a solution that worked for me:

I hope this works for you, too!

A damaged Windows system registry or incorrect registry permissions settings may prevent you from installing Flash Player.

    Symptoms may include:

    • During installation, you see the error message "unable to install. For troubleshooting, please see: http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_19166. »
    • Your installation of Flash Player completes without error, but you cannot view Flash content in Internet Explorer.
    • Some sites tell you that you don't have the correct version of Flash Player, even if you have installed the latest version.
    • Some sites tell you to reinstall Flash Player, but after you do, you see the same message.

Permissions can be tricky, but in most cases, you can install and use Adobe Flash Player, if you are connected to a Windows administrator account. If you are unsure how to proceed, consult your system administrator or read the Windows documentation.

If you are a system administrator, see permissions for registry required to install Flash Player or update (TechNote tn_19148).

    Solution

Warning! By following the instructions below, you will modify the Windows system registry. A mistake could cause serious damage to the system, which may require you to reinstall your operating system.

If you are not comfortable editing the registry, get help from your system administrator or other COMPUTER professional.

If you choose to proceed, first back up your entire hard drive, and create a Windows System Restore Point.

Adobe Systems cannot be held responsible for any damages resulting from your following these instructions.

    1. Make sure that you are connected to a Windows administrator account. If you're not, you will not be able to use SubInACL.
    2. Download SubInACL from Microsoft Download Center.
    3. Follow the installation instructions. Make sure you only install SubInACL (subinacl.exe) to the directory C:\Program Files\Windows Resource Kits\Tools.
    4. Download the reset_fp10.zip file.
    5. Open the fp10.zip file and extract the reset_fp10.cmd file to the directory C:\Program Files\Windows Resource Kits\Tools\. Note that this file and SubInACL (subinacl.exe) must be in this directory.
    6. Double-click reset_fp10.cmd. A command window will open and SubInACL will run.
    7. Do not use the machine while SubInACL is running.
    8. After SubInACL is completed, you will see a prompt "Press any key to continue".
    9. Install Flash Player on the Flash Player download page.
    10. To verify that your installation was successful, see the about Flash Player page. At the top of the screen, you should see a message that says "Adobe Flash Player successfully installed."
  • Permissions registry VISTA IE Flash Plugin error

I had trouble installing the Flash for Internet Explorer plug-in, the error "registry permissions.

It seems like a good solution in the SUBINACL utility with the command reset_fp10 file, but I was wondering on the coding of the installation program.

The specific question (with permissions) seems to be related to the inability to create folders in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT.

Are programmers aware now HKCR is a merged "' database:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes

    - and -

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes

    ?

It has been like this since Windows 2000. You can learn more about this at:

    http://msdn.Microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms724475 (v = VS. 85) .aspx

For example, if you create the directory:

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\ {D4304BCF-B8E9-4B35-BEA0-DC5B522670C2}

    .. .it appears in:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\CLSID\ {...}

So, according to the documentation above, you could create this key HKLM and probably avoid

because of the registry error, instead of (maybe) do backward as the Setup program.

I guess the idea is you don't create in HKCR, you create in the other two, and it will appear

in HKCR (which makes it easier to see or read or something).

    Just a thought...

  • Is it possible to have full control for all users in the directory/files/registry?

Can I have a lot of control (read, write, change) my specific file / registry for all users, you have any program or script for this reason?

as 'cacls '. Because I can't use cacls.

    is it wrong?

    C:\>Cacls "program * Files\NETAS" / c/r users: «F»»»

Displays or modifies access control (ACL) of the files lists

    CACLS filename [/ t] [/ e] [/ c] [/G user: permission] [/R user [...]]
    [/P user: permission [...]] [/D user [...]]
    the ACL file name.
/ T changes ACLs of files specified in
the current directory and all its subdirectories.
/E Edit ACL instead of replace it.
/C continue on access denied errors.
/G user: permission Grant specified user access rights.
    Perm can be: R read
    W write
    C change (write)
    F full control
    ...

Perhaps you could elaborate a little bit on "this command is not running"...  What happens when you try?

I'm not knowledgeable about Windows 7, but Windows XP, I found the registry permissions must be put in a file.  So in your example, you can create a file named "z.txt", and in this file, you put the line:
    [1 5 7 17] \registry\Machine\Software
Then call you the command line:
    Regini z.txt

I found a few customizations that involves changing the registry permissions rather than the entries to allow limited users to do some harmless things that seem to require an account administration.
Things like change the profiles of power and using Java.

I am well aware of the importance of a key export before making changes, but which affects permissions, or just the contents of the key, if I try ot restore it? Given the format of a REG file, it seems to be just the content.

Creating a system restore point be the best way to make the backup in case I live? I think what happens if I accidentally click on the wrong thing and take away the permission rather than add it. Of course, I intend to be careful, but I never know if I'll be surprised or something and saw things. Yes, it will change the permissions of all files, more subfolders and

  • Windows 7 64 bit cannot create local port through registry

    Hi all

I write a vbs to create a local port to connect to our server to printer (ie the local port for \\PrintServer\PrintQueue1). I can create the succesfully local port by editing the registry HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Ports and restart the spooler service in Windows 7 32 bit. However, the same script can not create the port in Windows 7 64 bit. The registry has also been changed, but cannot create the local port after you restart the spooler service. Does anyone know what is difference between 32 and 64-bit Windows when creating the local port?

Turns out in my case is a subtly incorrect registry key in [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Ports].  Specifically, the (default) entry has existed as white.  Must read (value not set).  A solution is to export the key to a file... and are looking for online reading: @= "", open the file and delete this line, port of registry and Rename Ports.bad (for backup), and then import the file. "  That's what I did and it worked fine after restarting the spooler.  Another solution might be easier to remove the (default) entry, and then restart the spooler... In any case, I have now all my ports which survive a reboot.

  • 'Access denied' in ASA - registry permssion issue?

    Hi all

    We use version 9.3.1.
All of the client machines are extremely locked in this environment and users have minimum rights.
For example, they do not have access to the Control Panel, can not install software such as Winzip, etc., due to the strict policy of the company.
Some users require that the console of ASA and the Financial Reporting Studio installed on their machines.
The console and the studio were installed successfully by an administrator and the admin user can connect to both.
However, when users log on to the PC and open the console of the AAS or studio EN they get an error "access denied". Users do not have access to Event Viewer, so I can not give more im afraid.
I think that this error is caused by the fact that Hyperion tries to write to the user doesn't have access to a registry key.
By default users have write access to HKEY_CURRENT_USER but do not have write access to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE key.

Now if I remember correctly one of the conditions is to have write access to the registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Hyperion Solutions key.
I would like confirmation that this is the case. I had a look at the doc guides and admin install without success.

I guess it's a registry problem since if I connect to a PC problem, I can open two heavy customers. The only difference between the profiles of users and mine, is that I have some admin rights on my roaming profile.

    Thanks for your help.
    SEB

    Hi Seb,

I suspect it is a registry permissions problem.
Service console Regional access lots of keys, in terms of updating and creation of key here is a few examples.

    Create the key > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\DirectDraw\MostRecentApplication
    Set value > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\DirectDraw\MostRecentApplication\Name
    Set value > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\DirectDraw\MostRecentApplication\ID

    Create the key > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters
    Create the key > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\Tcpip\Parameters

    Set value > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Cryptography\RNG\Seed

A good test would download something like regmon, starts on a computer that receives questions and then start the console of Regional service, you should be able to see all of the attempts failed at the registry.

I expect that Financial Reporting Studio written also in a number of keys as well.

    See you soon
