Envy 15-j144na: indefinate black screen when you turn on

I need help I have a laptop of hp envy 15-j144na

the power led lights up when I press the power on button. the f12 key led stays orange. the caps lock white button will blink twice every four seconds. the screen never lights up.

When I turn on, I hear the drive power upward.

I tried to take out the battery and unplug AC and then pressing the power button / stop for 15 seconds then fix ac and power on.

I tried to remove the battery and memory and power cable. then put it all back together and tension.

I tried to hold the windows key and the b key and pressing power for a second, but it is not the bios update.

I tried to connect an external monitor, but it does not show anything

When I power the laptop on the bios does not appear if I press f2 or DEL or esc.

before that, windows is checked 10 crashed when using bittorrent and then reset and black screen now power on.

any ideas?

I left my laptop this weekend, and he had the same symptoms.

I swapped the hard drive to another hard drive.

The new hard drive has windows 7 and the bios reported that he was unable to start. It was different because I could see something on the screen at least BIOS.

Then I plugged my hard drive laptop screen and back to work and it started windows.

I don't know why the laptop now works. Very strange. I have never seen this on any previous laptops or desktop computers.

  • Tecra 9000 - no display on the LCD screen when you turn on

I recently got a Tecra 9000 for cheap on eBay. I am experienced with the construction and repair of computers, but not so with laptops.

The problem with this laptop, it's that do not display on the LCD screen when you turn on. It was just black, no backlight, nothing. I took the laptop all share, found no obvious problem. I had to turn it on and the screen lights up a few times trying to figure out the problem. Would it be a bad connection? Or something else?

After getting it to start work, I'll try to start to put it back together and it stopped working again. I haven't not been able to reduce it to know if it's a bad connection or a card problem.

Someone at - it suggestions? This is a problem for others here?

As you describe the issue, I think it is somehow a bad connection or a damaged cable, because it does not work once you have disassembled the screen.
Maybe you need to check all the cables, leading motherboard to the LCD and take a close look, maybe for a few scratches or strong curvature.

  • Black screen when you try to play a video rental

HI all, I rented a movie from iTunes and I got everything updated iTunes and OsX but whenever I'm trying to play the screen is all black and the movie will not play. I can see screen grab when I go to the chapters, but could not get anything to play. I tried for authorizing and reauthorizing my computer - I have a MacBook Air 11 '' end 2013.

abyone else has this problem and have you found a solution for this?

Same question.  I recently bought a new MacBook Pro & today is the first time I tried to watch a movie in iTunes.  Purchased or rented movies will play.  I, too, only have a black screen with only the controls (rewind, pause, reading, etc) visible.  No chapters listed, just the cover of the movie at the top + names of administrators.  Was on the phone with Apple Care for 2 hours and they could not understand.

When the Senior Adviser, I was speaking with iTunes contacted for credit, told him they were aware of the problem and working on it.  He said that there is a problem with some Macs, but not other Apple devices.

Strange that iTunes would have not contacted Apple Care technical support to let them know about the issue.  Also, before I spoke with the Chief Adviser, I was talking with someone else to Apple Care, who had also made contact with iTunes to try to resolve the problem by return the video rental for me and it has not been said on the issue.

It was about 3 hours ago.

Advise senior said that she would send me a mail with my # case and contact information so I could follow, but she didn't.  She took my phone #, so if all goes well, she will call to let me know when the problem is solved (not holding my breath however).

  • Black screen when you try to start PowerPC G3 beige

I have a vintage tour 1997 beige PowerPC with OS 9 (don't know which version, I think that the last of them he would go - 9.2.2?).  It has been sitting in the corner, turned off but plugged in for years (on a UPS protected against overvoltages with newer computer).  It was probably 2-3 years since the last power successful upward to retrieve something from him.  I am wanting to get data out of an old program on it, but can't get any view of it, just a black screen.

Here's what I know about the material:

    Label says PowerPC G3 233 MHz, 512 K Cache, 32 MB / 4 G HD/24 x CD / 56K Modem, 17/02/98

The memory may have been renovated years ago, there are 3 SIMMS inside.

I use the video port built, with an adapter for the Apple Display Connector to VGA adapter which worked very well all the years I've used the computer.

When I turn on, it is what is happening:

    I get the normal "chime".

The monitor it is connected to the wake mode 'sleep'

The display goes completely black - (no happy Mac, sad Mac or any Mac or gray screen)

The monitor will never return "standby mode" until I have shut down the Mac (at least for 10-15 minutes I leave at the same time).  This makes me think that the port video is send something to the screen.

    • Here's what I've tried so far:
    • Tried 2 different monitors and cables, which has occurred on other computers (relatively modern flat screen LCD)
    • Replace the onboard battery
    • Zap the P - RAM
    • Reset the NVRAM by starting command-option-O-f and strike blindly
      • Reset-nvram (press enter/return)
      • Reset-all (News-enter/return) - at what point he restarted then assume that it took orders
    • Started with the space bar to see if the extensions manager would come to the top
    • Sitting SIMM memory (I remember when a memory SIMM went wrong after years, I'm a his 'breaking glass' at the start so I think the memory is OK?)

The only things I can think to try are changing the ADC to VGA and put in a PCI video card.  Wikipedia lists a couple that were popular with this vintage Mac: ATI Radeon 7000 and 9200.  These will work without having to install drivers? It seems that http://www.amazon.com/ATI-Technologies-Radeon-7000-Graphics/dp/B0000630TB can be had pretty cheap, I don't know about the drivers.

I have not tried booting from a cΘdΘrom, especially because I was not able to locate them.  I could watch more difficult if it is reasonable to expect a different result, but that seems to be a more fundamental question.  If there are any people with ideas vintage Mac, it would be greatly appreciated!

The Amazon link you posted is for the PC of ATI Radeon 7000 version.  You need the Mac or PC version which took his chip EEPROM reprogramming with the Mac code.  Fifteen years ago, I bought eight of the sale to the retail-boxing, PC version Radeon 7000 s and flashed the ROM, for use in my beige G3s.  It took OS 9.2.2 support the latest drivers that allowed a 2D acceleration.  The Radeon 9200 Mac Edition is the final PCI graphics card that they marketed for Macs and would cost more and be more graphics card that you need, just to retrieve files from the G3.  You may be able to find a cheap, compatible Mac Radeon 7000 on ebay.  In fact, the older (Mac compatible) ATI Rage 128 PCI graphics of a B & W G3 (shown here) would be well suited to your needs.  When you zapped the PRAM, how many times have you let it go through the reboot cycle, while now pressed the keys "command + Option + P + R?  I usually gave it three.  You could try to remove the sound card 'personality' clean oxidation on the pins plated gold with a soft, white gum and reinstall.  This would be the case for modules of memory DIMMS and ROM card, which can also become oxidized over time.  If the Mac to VGA DB-15 you have a set of microswitches adjustable, the parameters of the (resolution) may be different for newer LCDs you've tried, especially if they have an image format widescreen.  "You can also consult the"failures of start-up list' on this page speed up your Mac G3 box. " "There was a problem with the first batch of voltage regulators used in the beige G3s, but I think they were passed to the VRM Raytheon in February 1998.  If "Raytheon" is printed on your VRM, you can probably exclude the problem.

  • M40X-141: black screen when you use the WiFi network

Since I bought my M40X 141 in July 2005, I got black screen frequently when you use the wifi.

You know this black screen with typical noise from the hard drive.

I did all the updates without effect. The local seller understood nothing black screen, associated with the use of wifi.

In the XP world, nobody seems to find this kind of abnormal things so I'm desperate to find a solution to stop the frequent black screens. Recently try a usb dlink wifi dongle (dwl-G122) the constant flow of black screens disappeared
(An Xp session 10 days was previously impossible).

Now, I know this is a bug in the original software and I try desespartely to find a patch or updated driver or professional advice.

Is there someone here who can help a tired multi restart man to use his laptop with the original material?

Your laptop should still be guaranteed if you bought in June 2005. Take it to your authorized Service Provider nearest and have their say. They should already provide for a procedure for this and know what to do. Sure the frequency that uses WIFI and display inverter coincides, and you get the black screen. Change them should fix this problem.

    1. check the version of the VM VGA driver, if that's the case, you must update the WDDM driver display driver.

    2. make sure that you use HW 7 and more.

Bought this laptop 30 days ago...  Worked very well.  Get to market.  signed on-screen says something like "Service Manager" not embedded correctly then closed on the black screen.  No matter what I do... all I get... black screen.  Now, it is closed!  Help!

I am running windows 8.1.  My problem has been resolved as a result of my own research.

  • Black screen when I turn the Satellite M

When I turn on the laptop, I can not in the system screen, in black only, after that I tried several times, so I can't get into the windows system.

    What is the problem?
    Tanks, boyfriend

    Hello

You are able to access the BIOS?
If this is while there could be a motherboard problem

Have you tried to connect the Satellite laptop for external monitor to check if something is not visible on the second screen?
I think it would be useful to get more information about the possible hardware problem
If a second screen would be too dark, then a problem of graphics card would be possible

However, I doubt that you could fix yourself. Most of the time it s a job for a technician

  • Black screen when I turn on the computer, press F1 and error message: disk hard imminent failure

Original title: crash is immediate please help

When I turn on my computer laptop black screen saying I have to press F1 to continue, it says after that... disk failure hard immenent what can I do besides spend more than 200. OO, I don't?

    Hello

Chances are the hard drive failed, but it could be wiring or other materials.

Check with the system manufacturer's support, their documentation online and ask in their forums
(if any). Most have instructions to replace the hard drive.

You can usually buy a hard drive for alternatives for less than $100,00 and maybe much less. Or the other
get the same one or the same size.  System manufacturers usually several models if you
the same can buy cheaper. And there will be others who are of the same size and type which
can be used. Your local computer store can help select an appropriate player.

Here is an example of how to replace the hard drive on some HP computers for example. Most
other manufacturers are similar, and there are many generic examples on the internet.

The power lights, but all I have is a black screen.

Cannot use the keys F. NO screen... all black!

    Hello

If you have no splash screen (Dell, Acer, Logo etc.) or instructions at the bottom of the screen to enter the BIOS (F2, delete, etc.) when you start your computer, you have a hardware problem.

If under warranty, contact the manufacturer. If it is not under warranty, contact a repair shop, local.

    See you soon.

  • INSPIRON All In One 20 - black screen when you power on

I have an Inspiron 20 model 3048.  The machine has been completely cleaned.  I wanted to install Windows 10 on it.  Powered on, the screen of the BACK came with the opportunity to make Windows 10 because it was installed there before he wiped.  One of the other options on the screen at that time was pressing the F8 key for other selections.  I pressed F8 and the screen went completely black and has been that way since.  When I re - turn on there is no Dell logo more and F2 and F8, F12 keys do nothing.  There is really nothing wrong with the material; everything worked fine before you press the F8 key.  The power led is white.  There are no beeps.  The fan works.  The flashes of light of CPU.  Optical disc drive opens.  I pressed the brightness on the monitor control buttons and lights up the screen in different colors which he travels, so there is nothing wrong with the monitor.  I removed the battery and ram and then reinstalled the twelve hours later.  The same thing: a white screen.  I am at a loss what to do.  This thing is learning to where it will be a doorstop.  I can't do anything if nothing never appears on the screen.  Help, please.  Lenny

    New information:

By pressing the F8 had nothing to do with it.

I have now found a way to get the screen to show the Dell logo and the menu of the BIOS:

With memory removed button battery, unplug the computer from the electrical outlet, and reconnect it.  The computer then powers at once, then off, then on again, then on the road, the on a third time and remains lit.  I then the manually using the on/off button.  When it starts, I start by pressing the F2 key.  It starts showing the Dell logo and bios menu.

I don't know what to do from here.  I don't see anything available that can solve the problem, although I can now make and see the bios menu.  Don't forget, the battery must be out of the machine to make it happen.  He don't won't happen if the battery is in.
