  • HP Envy dv6 7323 CL: my fingerprint reader does not work

My fingerprint reader has stopped working.  It is a validity sensors (WBF) (PID = 0018). It worked once I updated to Windows 10 but has stopped now. I opened the Device Manager, the device was hidden, and when I tried to update the drivers of the update of the driver indicates that all the drivers are current, this is checked when I open the 'Détails' tab and go to the section selected user driver installed (). I then checked the "General tab" which had the following message now, "this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45); To resolve this problem, reconnect this hardware device to the computer. "Then I checked under"location information"that are listed as port #0003. Hub_ #0001. Additinally, verifying the Universal Serial Bus controllers it lists a device with the following message, "unknown USB Device (device descriptor request Failed)."  Under details, I noticed the following: location information is port #0003. Hello:

Looking at your other posts it seems that you have yourself painted in a corner.

Since there is no inheritance or the setting USB auto in the BIOS, your only option would be to remove the hard drive, then put it in a USB drive enclosure sata hard laptop, plug in another PC so it can be read, download the drivers there, you need and copy to you user profile on the hard drive removed.

Chapter 5 maintenance manual provides the procedures of withdrawal and replacement for the hard drive.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c03733656

Reinstall the hard drive, run the drivers, and you should be good to go.

These would be the drivers you need for your model...

  • HP Envy 15-j140na: HP SimplePass fingerprint reader incentive is not to connect

    Hello

I just bought the HP Envy 15-j140na sound of HP. The laptop is fantastic, but I'm having a problem with the fingerprint reader. The computer comes with the simplepass 8.00.57 already installed the version of the software.

The problem I have, is that once I implemented the simple passage fingerprint reader, it lead me to analyze my impression when connecting windows and I have to log on normally. I checked all the settings and it should be implemented, however there is no prompt. Just to emphasize that everything works fine. I can't sign in Web sites on IE no problem at all using the fingerprint reader. It can be a little frustrating because it goes against the interest of having a fingerprint reader.

Any help to operate would be greatly apprecieted,

    Bravo guys.

  • ENVY 17 t-J100 Leap Fingerprint reader seeing Motion?

My brother has the motion of non-saut ENVY 17 t-J000. And he has a LED indicator to the left of the sensor fingerprint that lights in white or orange when you drag your finger. Which is really nice to know that it has detected your finger when you think that nothing is happening.

But I just got the Motion Leap of his laptop computer version, and I don't see any LEDS light up when I slide my finger. The sensor works well though.

So my question is, can confirm one that this model has or that there is no LED indicator as the motion of non-saut feel LIKE? I don't want to lose time to call HP if this model does not have the LED indicator. But if he does, I need to have the unit repaired or replaced before I get it all together at the top.

Weird that it is not displayed, here's an imgur link, in case you still want to see

I've seen non - Leap Motion want and it is similar, as you say. Really weird that it does not work, especially since you said that the fingerprint reader itself works. I hope you have better luck with the replacement!

  • Does not fingerprint after installing Windows 7

I bought 3 items of T500 with installed Windows 7 Home. With this OS footprint scaner worked properly.

After installing Windows 7 Professinal, fingerprint reader does not work. All instaled divers. There is no error in DeviceManager. But when I run the software of fingerprints, it is said that scanner is not lit.

Make sure that the installed driver is actually the one that came with the Lenovo Fingerprint Software and not the one that you got from Windows Update. I've seen similar problems several times where Windows 7 is installed and get fingerprints from windows update driver/software and the software Lenovo to fingerprints do not work because some parts of the software, I got from windowsupdate is left on the computer.

Which version of the driver of the fingerprint reading is installed on your computer?

You can try uninstalling Lenovo Fingerprint Software and restart. Then, after the reboot if there is still a driver installed for the fingerprint reader in Device Manager, right click and select uninstall and also check the box that says to delete the driver. You may have to restart again. If you had several drivers fingerprint installed you may need to repeat this step twice. So when Device Manager shows the fingerprint with no check reader driver installed if you have any software fingerprint authentec or authentec truesuite installed under "uninstall or change a program". If you find any uninstall and restart. If you can successfully eliminate all the reader of fingerprints in the device should be listed in Control Panel with no driver installed, you should find any substance of fingerprints or biometrics. Then try to install the Lenovo Fingerprint Software.

  • HP Envy 7640: HP Envy 7640 Scanner does not work.

I got a new printer HP Envy 7640. Prints beautifully, but the scanner does not work. I can not make copies, I can't scan something and send it by e-mail or save it in my flash drive, and of course I can't print with my hp pc. I followed the instructions I found in the doctor but it does not work either. I followed the instructions I found on this forum and it does not work either. What can I do?

I had to go back, because the scanner came broken from the factory. Then they gave me another printer and has so far been working well. Thank you.

  • HP Simple pass - detects not fingerprint reader

    Hello

This is my first post so I apologize if it appears in the wrong place. I'll have a problem with the fingerprint reader and HP simple pass identity protection software that came with my Dv6-3121nr. For some reason any all of a sudden since this morning it will not work. There is no light on the sensor, and it fails every time and movement. When I run the single pass software and go to the fingerprint section, it shows the fingerprint reader is not connected. Interestingly, when I go to Device Manager I see no biometric devices listed under there. I read on another thread that some options below biometic devices in Device Manager solves the problem.

I already tried pass Simple uninstall/reinstall the Recovery Manager and also uninstalled and updated validity sensor but still no go.  Here are some other details:

    Laptop model: Dv6-3121nr

Operating system: Windows 7 premium 64-bit

    Paleoclimatology sensor DDK version: 4.1.139.0

I can't find any other information on how to solve it. Can anyone help?

    Thanks a bunch!

    Hello SM1251,

I looked at your laptop and there is no Windows 8 drivers for it.  Have you tried to install the driver of Windows 7 in compatibility mode?

    1. Visit the HP Support and download the Windows 7 drivers for the hardware that you want to try.
    2. Download the driver to your desktop.
    3. Allow extraction until the complete but close the installation process, when it comes to the top.
    4. Navigate to the C:\swsetup\ folder.  You will see your driver listed here.  They usually have a name such as "sp48918".  Navigate to this folder.
    5. In the folder of your driver, you will see a file "setup.exe".  Right-click on this file and select Properties.
    6. Go to the tab "compatibility".
    7. Click on the box that says "Run this program in compatibility mode dethrone" and also select Windows 7 in the menu dropdown.
    8. Check the box that says "Run this program as an administrator", below.
    9. Save these changes, and then double-click the "setup.exe" to start the installation.
    10. Once installation is complete, restart your PC and check the functionality of the hardware.

Please let me know if this helps solve your problem.

    Good luck!

  • ENVY Touchsmart 15J000: does not start

My Hp Envy 15 D0D78AV aka the j000

It has a processor AMD 5750 M and the thing dual graphics.

Flashing caps lock once every 15 s or indicates that the CPU is not responding.

I removed the radiator and fan to clean and it starts not since. I bought a new CPU for it and its still does not (yes I put the new Paste on it).

There was a piece of tape metally who went from the fan on the heatsink that I have more I don't think anything of it. is this some sort of ground causing it to think its overheating?

I have the power to all the usbs fan works and the HARD drive makes noises so I don't think that the mobo is burned.

Bassically the screen not turning on it is the fan turns on full speed as usuall and then down and quiet for about 10 seconds or so then gets up to operating speed. and then it just sits there doing nothing just the caps lock blink once every 15 years or more. I don't know what else to do and I can't afford a new laptop and I need for College security literally missed a month ago.

    Help, please!

Blink codes may look like a bad treatment, but almost invariably, it's really the motherboard. Here you have posted here before that you bought a new processor. Now you have 2 good I'm afraid. And you have this tape to the heat sink. He directs the air on the grid of the fan and without it the laptop will not cool right. But that is irrelevant at the moment until we can get it to the POST.

Did you create HP recovery disks or HP USB recovery disc?

If not, then please consult this HP documenton the recovery of your PC. Select "recovery of your laptop. The instructions are to win 8 but apply to 8.1 Win.

    You will lose all data.

  • HP Envy 4 recovery does not

Trying to fix a 4 envy for a friend and restore works do not at all.

    Cause:

Laptop could not do a Windows Update, during one of its automatic restarts it never recovered and sat down at the start screen HP does not have 4 days before I got it.

    I did the following:

1 attempt to restart and F11 factory restore, nothing

    2. rebooted and press F2 to run the system update, all tests passed

3 carrier recovery order and tried it, but when I boot it sits HP splash no screen, no response

    Solutions?

    Thank you

Have not heard of anyone, so I guess I'm on my own.  Former recovery with the new disk several times, were able step software installation only to fail, errors are as follows:

ChkErrBB.cmd: Detect an error in the PININST_BBV

    ChkErrBB.cmd: Check c:\system.sav\logs\BurnBootWarn.log

    ChkErrBB.cmd: or, visit c:\system.sav\logs\BurnBootMerge.log

I recorded it on the log file, but since nobody offered to help I did a search for "PINIST_BBV" and found a solution.

    I did the following:

    1. once the installation has failed to restart I hit F10 to enter the BIOS, then F9 for default of the BIOS

    2. I also enabled LegacyBoot in BIOS

    3. the next attempt to make recovery worked!

It took time, not know not why it is such a difficult thing, a simple recovery.  I must tell my friend to avoid in the future, product HP HP sorry but it was a terrible experience...
