Envy 17: Encryption of files using HP going single or similar utility?

My old laptop is a Toshiba, and it has a software called TFPU Toshiba Fingerprint Utility. I could encrypt any file with my fingerprints. Is there a similar software for my laptop HP Envy W10 available? Or is it possible to install and use this software for Toshiba TFPU on my laptop HP Envy because he has a different fingerprint reader equipment, it was on my Toshiba machine?

Software control manufacturer fingerprint reader is no longer compatible with Windows 10. You must use the windows "Hello" characteristic. Do not install the Toshiba software. You might not have used it in Windows 7 or Windows 8, either.

  • How to encrypt my files on external 2.5 "?

    Please can someone explain how to encrypt my files?

    Hello

    If you enter the password to access the HARD disk then that would mean that the access of your HARD drive is password protected, but that does not mean that your data or content on the disk HARD is encrypted.

    I m not very well what you want to do
    If you want to encrypt some files on your internal HARD drive or external, then you need to use a third-party tool 3

  • Save the class file using XML

    Hi-

    I made a new class for LabVIEW, and I try to save a file using XML. Attached pictures show how to create the file and how I read it, and I get the error message. I tried a variety of different methods and nothing worked so far. I was wondering if anyone had any advice or examples to save a class to file via XML.

    In the meantime, I'll use the method described here:

    http://forums.NI.com/NI/board/message?board.ID=170&message.ID=215511&query.ID=672786#M215511

    but I would prefer XML for more usability later down the line.

    I also thought just not related to the group all the data structure, recording via XML and then just group it upward and writing to an instance of the class. This seems to be more work that needs to be necessary and should be redone every time I have change the class.

    Probably, it goes without saying that I am fairly new to LabVIEW so I hope this isn't a stupid error that is obvious to the vet...

    Thanks in advance,
    Nate

  • I encrypted my files on a hard drive external and lost

    I encrypted my files on an external hard drive and I've reformatted my hard drive on my widows xp, now I get access denied when I try to access the files on my external hard drive. It can be recovered? I don't change anything on the external hard drive would have key codes have been stored on the actual computer or have it stored on the external hard disk where I have encrypted files? I change my username and password when I reinstalled xp.

    The "key" to your files encrypted using the Encrypting File System (EFS) is stored in your certificate store, which is part of your profile on the Windows system drive.  The certificate itself is encrypted to your Secure ID (SID, which is a unique number created with your username) and your password in the user and who-knows-what else.  Whenever you use any encryption system, if you can't answer the question "Where is my stored encryption key", then you are begging to lose all your information.  When you destroyed your old system, you wiped out the encryption with her key.  Unless you can recover your system from a backup or "best practices" followed by backing up your certificate, I'm afraid that you have lost access to all your data.  Microsoft has tried very hard and succeeds in making transparent encryption keys - at the expense of people in your situation.

    The following is required reading for anyone using EFS and he explains everything very well.  Pay special attention to the paragraph entitled 'Why you should back up your certificates' to the end.

    "Best practices for EFS file system.
      <>http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/223316 >

    For the same reasons you have at the moment, I chose to go with the "Truecrypt" freeware as an instead of the EFS encryption solution.  The keys are in my head like a password and I have not lost all data encrypted in 10 years despite having Windows terminally to the crash from under me several times.

  • Unexpected Windows 7 Pro Message on encryption of files, asking Me to back up the encryption key and password

    Have a desktop HP 590 t 2 - months old, Win 7 Pro 64-bit running.  Two days ago, I received an unexpected pop-up Windows message, saying something like "Files EFS in Windows."  When I click on it, I get 3 options:

    1 certificate of encryption and the emergency key and create the password
    2 ask me later
    3. do nothing... If you don't back up your key and the password, you will not be able to access the files.

    What is strange, is that I did nothing (that I know) which would cause no files to encrypt.  I don't know yet what it is, other than what I read in the help Windows.  I called HP Tech Support, they advised me to choose "REMIND ME LATER", that's what I selected.

    After that I turned the computer off yesterday morning, then turned it back last night, I had the same command prompt.  But he appeared at the start, then went off on his own.  I did have to choose anything.

    Since it is a new computer, I was installing software, but legitimate all software, such as Microsoft SQL Server 2008, Dreamweaver, etc..

    Here are my questions:

    1 - is Windows, or could some software I have installed, start encrypting files ON it's OWN?  I thought files could only be encrypted if I expressly and explicitly started encryption of files.

    2. is there a say if all the files on my computer are encrypted?

    3 is it normal that Windows prompts you on file encryption, after so many weeks or months of use?

    4. is there a way to get Windows to stop for prompting me on this subject?

    I read another post where someone said the same thing.  'Out of the blue", they got the same message, I did it.  There was no response to this post.  Appreciate any advice on what it means.  Thank you

    Thanks for the tips.  I think I may know what it is.  It could be the edition of SQL Server 2008 R2 Developer, I had installed recently.  Apparently, it encrypts certain files as part of its operation.  I read where it makes the encryption/decryption of files in real time.  I hope it's something 'internal' for SQL Server and will not affect anything else on my PC.  I use SQL Server 2000 on Windows XP for 10 years and has never seen this message.  Was only my PC Win7 64 bit for 2 months, so am always install software.

    If the OS Win7 can be noticed this and simply prompting me for a key.  I don't know if I should get just a key/password or not, just to be safe.

    But the message popped up when I used an option in a program to copy files to an external flash drive.  I checked, and none of the files on the flash drive, or in the folder root of the program on the desktop are encrypted.  So the time the message appeared might be a coincidence, as the copy of files from the flash drive.

    So far, everything works OK and have only seen the message once more, when I restarted Friday, then the message disappeared on its own.  Have not restarted since then but little time.

    If he continues to appear, will try your suggestion.  Thank you very much

    • What software do you use to encrypt the file?

    You can use BitLocker Drive encryption to protect your files on a disc. BitLocker can help the hacks to access the files on the system, that they rely on to discover your password, or to access your drive by physically removing from your PC and install it in another. You can always connect to Windows and use your files as you normally would.

  • Encrypt a file when exporting to Oracle

    Can encrypt us an entire file when exporting to oracle? I'm generating a CSV file but finally I need to post it on my application, but the only problem is there encryption is implemented on demand in a way as if the file is downloaded from the application, then the file will be automatically encrypted and all by downloading the same file, it will decrypt and display.

    But when I generate the file is the database directly, and then when my shell script to move the file to the DB server to the application server and finally download... does not work because the application attempts to decrypt the file while the file is not encrypted to first step...

    Is there anyway that we can directly encrypt with a key that can be the same password that the application uses too.

    Let me repeat in case you missed it:

    It's your code that creates the CSV file.

    If you can do WHAT you want with the data and the file whenever you want to. If you want to encrypt go ahead.

    Oracle database cannot create or manage CSV files. Client application programs and code to do. Such a file is located in the file system. And it is accessible via standard kernel I/O calls. If you want to encrypt the file created by your application code, then update your application code to support this. It is not a problem of database Oracle.

  • How to export a layout Epub fixed without encrypting the files of fonts?

    When I export to a fixed provision ePub and you later want to convert it to a Kindle format fonts in the /META-INF/encryption.xml file are not retrieved correctly. How can I tell InDesign do not encrypt the font files and incorporate instead?

    The CSS has nothing to do with encryption. If your font (ttf or otf) is applied in InDesign, the fontface markup will be automatically generated by InDesign and this markup does not matter whether or not the police is encrypted/hidden.

    If you have used fonts under SIL Open Font License (OFL) license (Linotype, FontFont,... are not lic. under SIL!), you can extract the contents of your ePub, replace the font files included here, with the original font files and delete the encryption.xml file. Then you can convert it to Kindle. Of workaround does not work with typekit, skyfonts or services because you don't have access to the original font files. Over 99% of commercial fonts you cannot replace fonts epub with versions not encrypted, so be careful here. Please take a look first at the following discussion to see what might be allowed to do or not because you often have restrictions on moving or commercial license font embedding: A Solution to fonts...

    Acrobat Reader is used to view PDF files and is free to use.

    You can go to 'Tools', and then choose Protection-> Encrypt-> encrypt with password

    If a dialog box appears asking you to 'Application of new security settings', click 'yes '.

    Choose "Acrobat X and later" (recommended Option), if the recipient uses Acrobat X or Acrobat Reader X or later. Otherwise, select "Acrobat 7.0 and later versions" for better backward compatibility.

  • Creation Waveform TDMS file using the functions DDC_ in C 6.0?

    I'm trying to implement an export written in C 6.0. I can make the TDMS files using the DDC_ controls without any problem. But I can't understand how waveform TDMS files. I thought that if I added properties wf_ I should be able to define the waveform = Yes. But it seems to be more complicated than that.

    Here's what I work until now... (with the exception of the error handling to make it easier to see)

    DDC_CreateFile (sDestFileName, "TDMS", gszinfoline1, gszinfoline2, gszinfoline3, gszinfoline4, & hOutputFile);

    DDC_AddChannelGroup (hOutputFile, szGROUP_NAME, szGROUP_DESC, & hgroup)

    DDC_CreateChannelGroupPropertyTimestampComponents (hgroup,
    szCHANNEL_NAME,
    year (unsigned int),
    months (unsigned int).
    days (unsigned int).
    hours (unsigned int).
    minutes (unsigned int).
    wholeseconds (unsigned int),
    (double) fractionseconds);

    DDC_AddChannel (hgroup, DDC_Double, szCHANNEL_NAME, szCHANNEL_DESC, szCHANNEL_UNITS, & lphchannel);

    DDC_CreateChannelProperty (lphchannel, "wf_increment", DDC_Double, dInterval);
    DDC_CreateChannelProperty (lphchannel, 'wf_xname', DDC_String, 'Time');
    DDC_CreateChannelProperty (lphchannel, "wf_xunit_string", DDC_String, "s");
    DDC_CreateChannelProperty (lphchannel, "wf_start_offset", DDC_Double, 0,0);

    Any suggestions? (Details of this aid are intended for LV or completely absent)

    Thank you very much

    Don

    Hi Don,

    Thanks for the additional information.  After doing research a bit more, it seems that there are 3 required properties so that the property of waveform to be set to yes.  These are wf_start_offset, wf_increment and wf_samples.  If you add in a call such as the following, this should solve the problem:

    DDC_CreateChannelProperty (lphchannel, "wf_samples", DDC_Int32, 5);

    Just replace with the length of your table 5.

    Kind regards
