ENVY 4500 connects to the wifi, but the PC can't detect the printer.

Hey guys,.

So I have a problem. I just bought the 4500 envy at my local Walmart yesterday, 11 October 2014. It prints the test as well as printing of our mobile pages and tables. Whenever I try to install it on my PC, I get up to the screen "searching for printer" and it does not detect the printer. He says always "cannot find the printer." Is the reason because printing is in the features and I'm on the first floor? My House is literally right on top of it. I've already printed on the "Network Configuration" Page so I know that I have the IP address and the 'network name (SSID)' correct.

Hi Average_Asian, thanks for getting back to me!

I suggest to uninstall the printer software if there is any software installed.

After uninstalling, I recommend you select Wireless on the front panel of the printer.  In the wireless menu, select restore default settings from the network.  Once the default values are restored, turn off the computer and the printer.  Once they are turned off, unplug the power to the router wireless for 60 seconds and plug it back.  Once the wireless radio, turn on the printer and run the wizard to Setup wireless on the front panel.

Once the printer is reconnected, I suggest you put your system in clean boot mode in the configuration of Microsoft.  You can do this by following this document: How to perform a clean boot in Windows.

Once the computer is in clean boot mode, I would suggest to reinstall the HP printer install wizard for Windows.

Please let me know how it goes!

We have an HP Photosmart Premium C309g, which is connected to a Cisco Linksys EA2700 wireless router. The printer connects easily to the PC with windows 7. However on macs with Lion, the printer will be displayed when you type the IP address in the browser. However when you try to load the printer it does not appear. If you use the IP address to load it does not connect to the printer. He used to work. The only changes are a new PC and a new wireless router. I tried to update the drivers and software on the Mac. It did not help. Still the same problem.

    Hello

Unlike Windows, peripheral Apple uses Hello (which is based on the multicast) to connect with the HP device over the wireless network.

As far as I'm aware routers Linksys not configured for multicast by its default value.

Try the following and check to see if that can help you:

    1. Enter the router from your browser homepage.
    2. Enter in the Security tab,
    3. Check filter multicast.
    4. CLCK save changes.
    5. Reboot the router and check any change.

  • HP Office Jet Pro 8620: IMAC loses the connection to the printer

Computer do not print and seems to lose the connection to the printer. I deleted all printers and made a new connection to the printer. Printer address 192.168.0.14.  IMAC later loses the connection to the printer again. I look at address on printer and now is 192.168.0.15. Its done this several times. So why the printer continue to change its address? Is it possible to put it permanently?

Think I fixed it now. Problem was that I also had to set the Configuration of DNS address. Of course although computer knew the address of the printer, he could not find the server (i.e. the router) don't understand everything, but seems to work now.

Went to the printer the webserver integrated with my Web browser. On the network, wireless 802.11, IPv4 configuration tab, I already had the manual IP, the subnet mask and the default gateway. I need to go to the next Section under the DNS Configuration, select "Manual DNS Server", then fill in the news for "Manual preferred DNS server".

AllOf the above address were extracted from the information sheet, you can print directly from the front panel of the printer. My son who is more Apple savy than I am, said that he did not understand why I had to put an IP address manual for printer even when that she would have remained the same.  I don't either, but just know whenever IMAC my wife lost the connection to the printer IP address had changed.  My router is built with the Modem cable provided by the company. It is perhaps part of the problem.

So no, it seems to be fixed number. So if you set a manual IP address, make sure that you also specify a "preferred DNS server"

    Thanks for your help

  • Vista cannot connect to the printer

I have three computers, one with XP and one with Vista Home and one with Win7.  XP has an attached Cannon printer that is shared on the network.  It worked well for a long time.

I recently had a wifi attached Kodak esp6150 printer I installed over the old Canon.  It works well from all three computers.  Since installing it however the Vista computer is no longer can find Canon printer on the XP computer.  So I tried to add a printer in Vista.  It shows the printer in the list of printers connected to the network, but when I select and tell Vista to add it I get the error "unable to connect to the printer.

Okay, I went back to a restore point before the Kodak and Canon fine works again.  I reinstalled Kodak software and both printers worked ok maybe half an hour and the cannon disappeared Vista again.

The world is - that sound familiar at all?  No idea how to get Vista to recognize the two printers like XP and Win7 are happy to do?

    Thank you.

    Bill

Okay, I think I got my problem solved from information found elsewhere on the web.  The trick seems to be to tell Vista to install the printer working for the Canon even if it is a shared network printer.  And create a local port with the name \\XPserverName\PrinterName.

But as I said, this is necessary if the Kodak is installed.  Otherwise Vista see the Canon as a shared network printer.

  • ENVY 4500: My printer ENVY 4500 guard disconnection (no WiFi)

My ENVY 4500 guard printer disconnect sporatically. One minute I can print correctly, either the printer could not be reached. The printer status "the printer is not connected.

This continues to be of all devices, not only my iMAC. I tried my laptop, my iPad, iPhone. Same story. When it fires, he died for all devices. I tried to reinstall the printer, tried to restart, unplug. Nothing seems to fix.

If I print the report directly from the printer during this time, it says everything is connected and no problems found (see attached image).

Then after awhile, like an hour or two later, all of a sudden the printer will spit on all the prints that were in the queue.

I contacted support and they connected to the printer and reset some settings, and it started working, then a week later he did it again. She continues to do maybe once a week or more.

I don't know what to do more. Anyone have any ideas?

  • Laptop computer connecting to the printer connected to the Airport Extreme

I will soon buy a MacBook Pro laptop and I'm interested in the way in which I connect to the printer connected to my iMac through my Airport Extreme.

Unfortunately, you don't specify how the printer is connected to the iMac, but let's guess that's via USB.

    On your iMac...

Open the preferences system (gear on the dock icon)

    Open the share

Enter a check mark in the box next to printer sharing

    Close the window

Now, do the same for the MacBook Pro

Then, open Preferences system again on the MacBook Pro

    Click on printers and Scanners

Click the + to add the printer to the MacBook Pro

He recently lost connection or is this the first time you tried?

Try to restart your iPad look - it's a simple solution that sometimes allows to restore the connection to the printer.

Other things to check would be that there has been no recent changes to the wifi password.

  • Unable to connect to the printer via IP address

I changed my ISP (internet service provider) and therefore changed routers - now unable to connect to the printer.
I put a static IP address on my HP Photosmart B110a printer before we changed to ISP because there are connection problems. When we were setup to the ISP again, we are unable to connect to the printer, such as the printers IP 192.168.1.12
The new network ISP IP range is 192.168.0.xx and printers address IP is out of the network.
I can print via the USB cable but I can't return to my printers GUI by entering 192.168.1.12 return the printer back from the static IP address.
A hard reset for this printer would be appreciated.
    Thank you very much.

    Hello
I solved the problem. The answer was staring face heres so my solution for someone who has had similar problems.
I didn't dig up the old router that affects the 192.168.1.xx IP network and then connected my PC, connected my printer then connected printers user interface through the static IP address, I assigned earlier. Changed to automatic IP. Connected my new router (which assigns the IP addresses of 192.168.0.xx) to my PC and printer. Everything is now OK.
    Thank you.

  • Windows cannot connect to the printer. The name of the printer has been correctly entered, or the specified printer has lost its connection to the server.

A Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition SP2 32-bit computer is a field, the file and print server.

A computer on the domain is a machine of Windows 7 Ultimate 64 - bit with HP DesignJet 500 24 printer connected via USB.  The printer is running the latest firmware.  The PC is running the latest 64-bit drivers with no problems to the host machine printing.  The host also has the latest drivers 32-bit (x 86) installed by downloading by other computers on the network.  The printer is configured to share with the share name of HPDJ500.

Now, on a machine Windows XP Pro SP3 32 bit on the field, I'm trying to connect to the shared printer.  Add a printer > click Next in the wizard of > check "a network printer or a printer attached to another computer" and then click Next > click on "Find a printer in the directory", then click Next > click Find now > HPDJ500 in the list below (the XP machine can see the shared printer on the Windows 7 computer!) and click OK.  At this point, I get an error that says: "Windows cannot connect to the printer.  The name of the printer has been correctly entered, or the specified printer has lost its connection to the server.  For more information, click Help. »

Alternatively, if I right-click on the HPDJ500 printer listed, then click on connect, I get the same error message but I also see a separate window that says "Connecting to HPDJ500 on H2.ws.net" with the lively projector.  This window also disappears as soon as I clear the error message.

Please note that this printer worked perfectly as a printer shared, hosted on a machine XP 32 bit on the field.  It works perfectly for the new Windows 7 64-bit machine, but we cannot connect from anywhere else on the network (including the server which translates the same exact error message).  On the server, I also preinstalled drivers thinking there was a problem with a 32-bit computer, trying to grasp the correct drivers from the host 64-bit Windows 7, but that doesn't change anything.

    How connect to this printer?

Try using the path UNC path of the printer in the Add Printer Wizard.

Add a printer > network printer > connection to this printer ((deuxieme point)

Click next to browse (leave blank, the name field) or type the UNC path of the printer (i.e. \\Computername\Printername) path

  • Problem adding network printers; received this message error «Windows cannot connect to the printer or the name of the printer...» »

    Hello

I have a Windows XP pro (Lenovo) that I recently ran the recovery and returned to certain configurations of 1.5 years. Now I can't add a network printer and get always the message error «Windows cannot connect to the printer or the name of the printer...» ». I ping the printer and all on my network can add these printers, it's just that a machine that fails to add network printers.

I disabled the firewall, but were still unable to add the printer. Then I found some difficulties to register for a similar problem, but they were not useful... It really becomes a big headache, especially Windows restore does not work...

I strongly suspect that 1.5 years, someone has renamed the printer.  Use Windows Explorer to navigate to the print server through My Network Places and see what it's callednow .  Otherwise, you could ask your network/system administrator.  You should know... • Windows cannot connect to the printer. Access is denied.

    From: Steve

Desperately, I try to print from my laptop Windows Vista Home Premium to a shared printer on my home wireless network.  The shared printer is connected to a XP Home machine.  This machine is wired (via a LAN cable) to the wireless router.  I can 'see' the printer that I want to use but trying to to connect to it. I get the error message "Windows cannot connect to the printer.  Access is denied. "I would be grateful for any help.

    Kind regards.

    From: Alan Morris [MSFT]

Since the XP machine is HOME, I don't think that the permissions dialog box is accessible.

Run the XP network sharing wizard again and see if it affects safety correctly on sharing.

Is the printer you share one that has drivers provided with Windows XP?

In the meantime we will at least get the printer works for you.

Create a local printer on Windows Vista; Creation of a Local Port in the form \\XPMACHINE\Printsharename (this will send the files by using the redirector instead of the RPC service).  Install the Windows Vista driver for the device.

You can print because print$ access is required for printer drivers.

  • Satellite P875-S7200: HP Deskjet 1510 cannot connect to the Printer Wizard

When I try to open HP DESKJET 1510 SERIES on my computer it looks like trying to connect to the Printer Wizard but never open and that's why I can't scan anything. How can I connect to the Printer Wizard? On the screen all I can see just - text by default - and it looks like loading but never opened.

Thanks for getting back to me @Amandazone

Looks like you have reduced, I don't know what else could cause this problem.

Since you said that you need the software for the analysis, I came to the top with some other ideas.

    You are able to try this;

    1. Open all programs
    2. Locate / expand your HP folder
    3. Locate/expand your HP Deskjet 1510 case
    4. Try to open HP Scanand see if it will scan

If it will not scan, you can try the steps outlined in this document;  HP scanning software is not open or Scan to a printer using a USB in Windows.

    Another option would be to scan without using HP software;

You can find on theseoptionsScan how-to: Windows 7

Please let me know the results of scanning HP, and what happens when you try to scan without the HP software.

I look forward to hear from you!

    Thank you

  • HP Deskjet 3510: HP Deskjet 3510 - unable to connect to the printer

I had this printer for some time but have never been able to properly print to this printer using this specific computer.   FYI, I'm trying to print wireless at it. This office has wireless compatibility.  I have the drivers and all (I think, I HP everything at the time but not the disk that came with it I lost only).  Don't know why it fails, he said only: "unable to connect to the printer.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hi aunt Shirley.

First of all, we're going to connect the printer to the network:

-Restore default values of network within the menu on the front panel of the printer wireless.
-From your computer, connect wirelessly to the network printer (it should be a name similar to HP - Setup - xx - Deskjet 3510).
-After successfully connecting to the printer, open a web browser such as Internet Explorer or Chrome and type 192.168.223.1 in the address bar and press ENTER.
-Click on the Wireless Setup Wizard
-Select your router and enter the password to connect to the printer to the router.

Run again the printer software to your computer to rediscover the printer on the network.
