ENVY dv6 keyboard shipwreck and Popping

I currently have the computer laptop dv6 - 7250ca ENVY with Windows 8 64-bit for about 3 weeks. It comes with the (not backlit) chiclet keyboard and I noticed that the edges of the keyboard parts are sinking in (corner of the numeric keypad enter key) or bulging (below the space key on the left & top right side where the Pg down key). I don't know if anyone else has this problem and had it fixed by hp? (Note: my store return time) Or is it worth fixing? Thank you!

Hello by357,

  • I just bought a new HP Envy DV6 and can work out how to open microsoft office.

I just bought a new HP Envy DV6 and can work out how to open microsoft office.  When I try he asks me a product key of microsoft Office was preinstalled, so I don't have a product key!  Any suggestions?

What version of Microsoft Office is this?

If its Office 2010, you can buy a copy from amazon.com/software because Microsoft is no longer at the price of Office 2010.

If his Office 365/Office 2013, you can sign up for a trial key to:

  • Keyboard doesn't pop up since 9.3.1 upgrade

Since the upgrade to iOS 9.2 9.3.1 my keyboard is not pop up like it's supposed to when I type in a text box. It works sometimes, but mostly does not work. Is this a known issue? Is there a solution?

First, try a forced reboot. No data is affected by this procedure.  To force the reboot your device, press and hold the two buttons of sleep/wake and home for at least ten seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

If this does not help, try this. Reset all the settings. You won't lose any data, but all the parameters of the device will have to be entered again in the settings app. This includes WiFi network passwords. The unit restarts on its own. Settings > general > reset > reset all settings.

  • How to remove bloatware of envy dv6 Windows 8

    Product name: Envy dv6

    OS: 8 64-bit Windows

    Error message: no

Changes: No, just open the laptop

    Problem:

What I try to do is simple:

I recently bought a new laptop for my girlfriend, but was embarrassed to find that I could not remove all the bloatware that was installed with it (snapfish, games Wildtanget, HP +, HP Games, MUCH more).

I read a ton of forums, tutorials and tutorials on removing bloatware from what I thought was Windows 8, Windows 7, Vista, ect.  I found no usable information.

I went to uninstall programs in Control Panel System. Frustrating although applications such as snapfish, HP + and HP Games, for example were not on the list of programs.

I've restored the machine twice now and have found no change in the programs. The list of programs is unchanged. The laptop came with disks of recovery, and from what I've read, that they would also have the bloatware on them.

    How to remove these applications?

Most new laptops have an option called Image minimized in the Recovery Manager. This recovery HP only reinstalls Windows and important drivers/software. Have you seen such an option?

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03489643

BTW, HP Recovery Manager also offers the possibility to burn recovery discs.

I checked the specifications of the product, but they just give a brief description and do not include a name of manufacturing for anything whatsoever. Is there any way to know witch factory my components are?

    Hello:

First install the amd chipset drivers and reboot.  You want the first file on the Web page.

Then you should be able to use all the W7 x 64 drivers and software for this model except the wireless.

  • ENVY DV6-7203TU: I lost my original windows, how can I recover?

    Hello
I bought the hp laptop with windows 8, ENVY DV6-7203TU original,.
Recently, I had the problem of the usb, I went to the computer repair shop, he removed my original windows and reinstalled some windows 8.1.
My original genuine windows was 8 which I later upgraded to windows 8.1 is deleted, I have a few new windows installed 8.1 now not on my name, he has also deleted my recovery partition, but somehow, I could find a screenshot of my old genuine cd key and my name on which it is registered.

Now I have the cd - key,
But when I try to install through windows 8/8.1 installation programs, it says bad cd - key for version retailer etc.

Can someone help me please how can I reinstall my windows genuine 8, if I have the cd key, where can I download the installer of windows 8 oem? where my cd key is considered valid.

Microsoft has a site where you can download the ISO of Win8.1 images - but it cannot be used for OEM versions - which is what you have.

Any PC tech with an ounce of intelligence knows that an OEM machine comes preinstalled with an OEM version. So I should be surprised by the huge incompetence of the shop where they "fixed" your PC - but I'm not!  Seems these days, anyone who can be synonymous with PC can open a repair shop - and incalculable damage as a result.

You have to contact HP for recovery media.  (Very likely), you will have to pay for it, and it is usually about $30 USD - but yours could be different.

You then starts from (it's probably a DVD or several CDs) and will be reformatted your hard drive, and the operating system reinstalled from scratch with all HP programs and utilities.  Then, you should see what you can do on the registration files and valuable data before you for the restoration.

  • ENVY of HP dv6-7246us: SSD for HP ENVY dv6-7246us

    Hello

I think about upgrading my dv6-7246us HP ENVY of SSD hard drive and would like to know if the below listed SSD will work. The current HARD disk is very slow and takes forever to start up/wake up the computer.

Also, I would like to know the detailed steps to configure the SSD to work with HP ENVY dv6-7246us.

The plan is to replace the current with below listed SSD HARD disc.

Any help and guidance is much appreciated.

Lol when this laptop was sold solid state drivers were exotic things and one concert 160 cost of a King's ransom. It was the largest offered HP, not a hard limit. They are more reasonably priced now. The best consumer SSD is a Samsung 850 Evo and I would at least get a concert from 480 to 512.

But a lot of good ones out there:

    Hello:

Because your model is a CTO model it does not give material specifications.

You need one of the two fan-heatsink for Intel based motherboards, found in Chapter 3 on page 29 of the owner's manual.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c03591281.PDF

However, it is very easy to understand than you need...

If your laptop computer is the AMD / switchable graphics of Intel you need of this fan/heater:

For use only on the computer models equipped with an Intel processor and a graphics subsystem with discrete memory

    HP Part # 682061-001

If your laptop has Intel HD graphics card, you need the fan/radiator:

To be used on the computer models equipped with an Intel processor and a graphics subsystem with UMA memory

    HP Part # 682060-001

Hello everyone, I really need someone who could help me get an image file (ROM or BIN) bios for my laptop HP dv6-7204AX ENVY.

    Thank you

Hello kieuminhuy... I'm sorry that you are having this problem with your ENVY dv6!

kieuminhuy, you can go to the page of downlopad 7200 WANT dv6 to download and run the SoftPAQ BIOS proper.  You do not have to run this SoftPAQ on the failed system - it should work on any system!  When you run the SoftPAQ, chose the option to copy the image file of the BIOS to another location (see below).

    I hope this helps!

  • HP ENVY DV6 7210ei Downgrade from Windows 8 for Windows 7

Anyone know if you can downgrade the HP ENVY DV6 7210ei to Windows 7.

    Hello:

It should be pretty easy to do.

Just use the W7 64 bit drivers since the dv7t-7000.

DO NOT USE ALL DOWNLOADS OF BIOS OR FIRMWARE FROM THIS LINK

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/product?product=5273735&LC=en&cc=us&DLC=en&task=

Make your first W8 recovery media set before installing W7, in case something goes wrong or you want to reinstall W8.

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c03481733

You will also need to change a setting in the BIOS to be able to install and run W7 64-bit on your laptop.
