  I reinstalled once validity sensor driver and HP SImplepass before doing so in a particular order, that I don't remember and it works under the compatibility settings. I had to update my machine and I can't get the snesor to work

  Thanks for posting back.  As you know that there are several versions of HP laptops may be, most of the control functions are found in the user guide.  If you don't find it there then you would go to the deactivation of material in windows.  It is a microsoft.

  Normally, you have 2 choices to turn off physically.  First the touchpad has a little button at an angle according to the model.  Use a function key, it will have a diagram of a square and a finger.  These methods have been used for years to turn your touchpad.

  Then is just google how to disable touchpad in windows 8.  Here are some links that you may find useful that I found using this search.

  How to disable the laptop touchpad in windows 8

  Now if you try to find a way to permanently close off the touchpad so that it does not in fact once again you will have to dig into Windows Help for this.  If Windows detects hardware at startup, it will, by default, try and load the driver of basis for it and most likely turn it on when you restart.

  The only other way is to open your laptop and unplug the cable that goes from the touchpad to the motherboard, so this does not happen.

  So finally getting my new laptop for work, the first thing made disk image and drive cloned to 2 separate drives, 1 disk to hide for emergency use second drive an SSD to replace the 1 TB drive. Low and here is new HP Envy can not simply pull old (new) hunt and put new and install first as storage device that I was planning to do. Can someone please tell me if I can get out of the car and replace it with the SSD, I bought this laptop? I don't care even if I use the 1 TB it came with I want to the SSD in there. Before I even started looking for the reader. I really just instructions on how to pull the back panel or keyboard and put in the other drive. Please, any help would be appreciated. Yes, I have all the tools to do so.

  See Page 64. You must remove the top cover, but not the motherboard. This jeopardize the warranty but HP will not void the warranty if you do the upgrade successfully.

  Assuming you did the clone properly, you should just be able to exchange the SSD instead of hard drive.

  If the audio driver from the support page and the driver of your PC does not work, then try this one.  At least he should get the audio to work, but he won't beat improvements, I think.

  I installed a new Pro 850 Samsung 1 TB SSD drive which replaced a Samsung 256 GB SSD.  However, I am unable to get the computer to start with I select AHCI mode in the BIOS of the reader.   I can only boot into RAID mode and magician then tells me to activate the AHCI for optimal performance.

  The following system information is provided:

  OS: Windows 8.1 64bits

  Chipset: Intel (R) C600/X 79 series chipset controller LPC - 1 41

  Storage controllers: Intel (r) Desktop/Workstation/Server Express Chipset SATA RAID Controller 12.8.2.1000

  Thank you very much!.  I tried to solve this problem for days.  I had already installed a new copy of Windows 8.1, so I've been worreid I need to start over, but I do not have.  All I had to do was follow you to start in safe mode.   I then rebooted in UEFI, changed the RAID on AHCI and disabled Secure Boot.  The system then finished the re-boot and is in AHCI mode.  I have not lost all data on my three internal drives (1 SSD and 2 hard drives).  For some reason, he did reformat a NAS attached, but I don't have something out there that was not saved.

  You see Synaptics tab? In the affirmative, please use this tab to disable the touchpad, if no, you must use the tab settings of the HP control area (for the newer machines). And in both cases, check the box "turn off internal...." 'and 'Apply'.

  Hi it screws my low wws lost business and because of this, the hinge is now oushing my case to open. I tried to get another from a different part of the laptopn screw, but it seems that small but which allows the screw stay connected to the case is broken.   The error message that desplays after the system recovery process, it is "Windows cannot verify the Publisher of this driver software".

  I tried clicking on the button 'Install anyway', at this point, more than 5 times.  The process does not move forward and I feel frustrated and turned off my computer.

  I then used the recovery disks that were created shortly after that the laptop was purchased in 2009.  Windows Vista is now on my computer.

  I tried the following on a machine not that different to yours and it seems to work.

  First, download the Synaptics driver on the link below and save it in your downloads folder.

  Disable your wireless card (should be f12).

  Open Control Panel, open programs and features, right click on the Synaptics driver and select uninstall.

  When you are done, reboot the laptop.

  When windows has reloaded, open your Downloads folder and launch the installer of Synaptics - when this is complete, restart the computer again.

  Open the Synaptics settings panel, disable SmartSense, then check if the touchpad works now with a key on the keyboard is pressed.

  If so, turn on your wireless card and use the utility on the following link to prevent Windows 10 to update automatically the Synaptics driver.

  Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome. I understand you want to restore the default values of the BIOS. You can restore the BIOS with this document by selecting the reload the default BIOS settings or rollback. Restore default BIOS is necessary, if it does not give you the possibility of restoration.
