envy touchsmart 15 graphics

Hello

I'm looking forward to buy Touchsmart from HP ENVY 15 t-j100 with 2048 MB gt740 Mr. dedicated graphics card I wanted to know if it is possible to replace gt740m with something better. Besides I would like to know what material in this laptop is replaceable. This model is quite expensive so I would like to know about possible improvements in the future, because I will not buy a new one in a few years.

Thank you!

Thank you, has not yet noticed that there is a model with 4 GB gt750m. But there is another thing. I noticed that envy 15t has an mSata slot. I'm not really that good in the field of the equipment so I don't understand very well what it is. For as far as I understand it is something like a hard drive. Could I put in for example a 500 gb ssd msata card and then install my windows on it to make it work from msata? It would make a real improvement on the speed? Or would it be better to replace disk ssd if that's even possible? In addition, if the model comes with only 4 GB of ram means that there is only a single slot and if it has 8 GB it means that there are slots 2 x 4 gb? Can they be upgraded to 16 GB as a whole?

Thank you, enjoy!

The mSATA slot resembles a miniPCIe for a 3G or a TV module location. Yes, you can use a reader for Windows mSATA and keep the original for data hard disk, but it is not easy to do because the BIOS won't let you boot from the mSATA and you need to install a bootloader on the original hard drive. It is doable but pain in the... Yes, you can use a 2.5 drive "sound instead of the mSATA but you lose the hard drive (there is that a single hard drive Bay). It really makes a difference with an SSD (recommend Samsung or Intel) as boot drive. The model comes with a 4 GB video memory DDR3/5 means that the graphics card has its own 4 GB (it's called dedicated) memory. It will not use any main RAM except if all 4 GB will be used and the lappy will need other resources of video RAM. Then, it will use the main RAM which I think can be improved at least 16 GB (2x8GB). Means the lappy has to 16 GB of main RAM and 4 GB of video memory dedicated, but this memory is dedicated to the vga card only.

    Hello

The following manual will answer most of your questions:

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c04091762.PDF

    1. not all the RAM sticks are the same. My suggestion to use Crucial to get the right result:

    http://www.crucial.com/USA/en/memory-info

2 Max is 16 GB as mentioned on page 2 of the manual,

    3. as #1 above.

    4. all standard SSD can do, you can see as Crucial to the right, and you can buy on Amazon after obtaining the right of Crucial.

Finally, you need ONLY the caddy if your goal is to install 500GB SSD on the second span.

  • 15 clicks Ghost Envy TouchSmart

    Hello

I need to make this folder somewhere - thing

My HP Envy TouchSmart E3S19UAR 15 had a problem of ghost-click with the touch screen from the first day. I did all this as recommended on these forums (and), including all updates, reinstall crushed, blah blah blah. Even sure my screen is clean and all other physical possibilities are excluded.

The problem, like many others on these forums, comes after Windows puts the system to sleep. This happened under Windows 8.0 and continues under Windows 8.1. It goes right now.

For some time, I thought the problem was solved - but then this weekend, my battery died suddenly. You see, in order to solve the problem, I had changed my setting of the system of 'Always On' power and changed other settings that Windows has gone to sleep. To realize that, I changed power settings back to "sleep mode"... and of course, in the awakening of his first sleep in a few months, ghost-clicks of the system started up again.

This is why I write - I am a few hours away from my expiring warranty (it is daylight saving time of 22:00, 20:00 for the time zone apparently used here). People of guaranteed phone HP just me transferred to the support paid and was told that the warranty service would not help. The website of HP warranty, confirms nevertheless that I am still under warranty. (Yes, I have screenshots and documents printed with the stamps).

So I intend to continue tonight if I can and certainly tomorrow (Monday) when there is hope that American support. Since I don't know how else to do this thing on the record, I post here.

Please help, someone from hp. I'll call.

    Thank you.

  • Upgrade of an ENVY TouchSmart 17-j005ea

I plan to replace my Dell with what would be my first HP laptop (a 17-j005ea ENVY TouchSmart), but I'm not sure if I would be able to upgrade.

I'd be looking to replace one of the hard drives with a SDD and replace the DVD drive with Blu - ray burner, but I heard that the upgrade can be a problem with some HP laptops.

These upgrades would be not possible for a person with basic experience of the PC?  (I create my own desktops and have upgraded discs and memory on Dell laptops without difficulty.)

Depends on how you define the problem. Here's an announced a swap and go for replacement:

    Here is the Service Manual:

Page 56. Remove the service cover and screw. Drag the old drive on. Remove the cover of the old drive and pop on the new and slide in. You will need a Blu - Ray as the current version of Power DVD burning software and software Blu - Ray as the current version of Nero.

  • Windows 8 or 8.1 update? HP ENVY TouchSmart all-in - One desktop PC 23-d260qd

I just bought the HP ENVY TouchSmart all-in-One desktop PC 23-d260qd and it happens today. I wonder if it is better to upgrade to Windows 8.1 instead of windows 8. It seems that several people had problems with the upgrade. I just got my computer today and have yet to open the box, but I wanted to know what OS is better and how I would go about updating Windows 8.1 must be optimal. My computer specs are below:

    • 64-bit Windows 8
    • • 3rd generation Intel® Core™ i7 - 3770S processor [3.1 GHz, 8 MB of shared cache]
    • • 1 GB NVIDIA GeForce GT610M [DX 11, 3. 0a MXM]
    • • 12GB DDR3 1600 MHz SODIMM [DIMM 2]
    • • 2 TB 7200 RPM SATA Hard Drive
    • • Microsoft Office Trial

Thanks in advance for your suggestions and help!

Create a recovery disk set before even considering the upgrade.

If you are not yet accustomed to Windows 8, then give yourself a little time to get familiar with before committing to an upgrade to Windows 8.1.

I prefer the upgrade of Windows 8.1, in particular the return of the Start button, it is not the same as the Start button was before Windows 8.

Important factors for Windows 8.1 are available on the web support download portal for your PC.

I searched this forum and Google and YouTube, but have not found a way to repair the left hinge on my laptop of 17-j153cl H * ENVY TouchSmart. The left hinge has separated from the main frame causing the bottom of the laptop to get out of the upper part. Fixing of the screen is still fine. The right hinge has not failed yet, but with the extra pressure in this regard, it may be only a matter of time.

    Hi there @Zainshah94,

Thank you for visiting the Forums HP's Support and welcome! It is an excellent site to find answers and ask questions. I read your post on the Forums of HP Support. I understand that your notebook Touchsmart from HP Envy 15 K239TX is slow.

So I understand perfectly, I just have a few questions for you.

1 - is your computer laptop itself that is slow, or is it when you browse online?

    2. have you updated any drivers?

In the meantime, I have a document for you asked to tune (Windows 8) slow system performance.

Please follow these troubleshooting steps provided in the document and the re-post with information to the above questions.

    Thank you!

    Have a great day!

  • HP X4000b Bluetooth mouse with HP ENVY TouchSmart 15 t-j100 Quad Edition CTO Notebook

I bought a XP X4000b Bluetooth mouse as a gift for a friend to use with their HP ENVY TouchSmart 15 t-J100 Quad Edition CTO Notebook with Windows 8.1 update 1.  She has developed a very strong aversion to the use of the touchpad of the notebook and has often been expressed that she preferred to use a mouse instead of the touchpad.  Especially for copy and move files between different folders.

    My questions are:

1 hardware/software of the Touchpad should be disabled or uninstalled before the mouse Bluetooth software and hardware is introduced in order to prevent any conflict?

    2. other than the need to activate Bluetooth support, are there other settings of control panel which will have to be modified in order to use the Bluetooth mouse?

    Thank you.

    lkmcmillen,

I regret that the document was not useful for you.

For the Touchpad is disabled, in general you can use both the keyboard and the wireless mouse at the same time. Some computers have a disable command set by default when you add a wireless mouse. It is an option found in Control Panel > devices and printers > mouse that can be enabled or disabled depending on whether you want to use the mouse or not.

Here is a video on how to for Activate the TouchPad on and off easily according to your preferences when you use a wireless mouse.

I am including the HP X4000b Bluetooth Pairing User Guide, which explains how to pair your mouse with the computer according to the operating system. What I see in the guide, there are no other settings to change otherwise than to turn on Bluetooth and add the device.

I hope that is the information that you have when you are looking for.

Best of luck and have a great day!
