EOS 7 d Mark II vs 70 D

Hi all

I am an amateur (Techno IT by profession) and would like to know which one should I go for - EOS 7 d Mark II or 70 d? I have EOS 600 d for the last three years and lenses - lens 135mm kit, Canon macro 100mm, Tokina Wide angle and 400mm Tamron AF. However, I got my 600 d repaired twice in the last 1-2 years (Board of Directors has changed twice due to a technical problem - Canon Service does not gives me the details). I've spent some money on repair services so upgrade to a better.

I usually shoot landscapes, macro, photography, Portraits (just started) and astrophotography. I would like to grow my photography skills additional for exhibitions and online sales beginning especially with photography of birds and wildlife. I'm fine with the budget for the two DSLRs. I put doubts still to go for 70 d and invest the remainder in 600mm Tamron.

Please suggest that it fits my needs.

Kind regards

Sameer

In my humble OPINION, both cameras are not comparable.  If the 7 d Mk II is in the budget, go for it.  It is not even a choice.

There are no 600mm Tamron?  Do you mean the 150-600mm zoom?  Tamrom makes the lenses very little choice but the 150-600mm F/5-6. 3 Di VC USD has a $70 discount until the end of the month.  It's a remarkable lens for the money.

I want to check the sharpness that I pull on my EOS 7 d Mark ii. I know how to read the image. I can't click on the index/reduce/enlarge button to zoom. But I've also read where the main dial to zoom in even closer. Am I wrong? If so, my camera won't do. When I turn the main dial in play mode, it only contributes to the following image. Help please!

  • Import error Canon EOS 5 d Mark III

Error importing for Canon EOS 5 d Mark III - selection of import and copy as DNG, saving as of 2016 by date - great worked earlier as yesterday at 23:00. Today, I was unable to import all of my studio work today.

Find the camera, starts automatically check files not imported, will allow me to add keywords, will still save the keywords after the closed will, give the message import files..., to even show that the copy and import photos seeks to work with the line measuring at the top near the logo LR - but will freeze and not move or import a single photo. No parameters have been changed and there is plenty of room. Using iMac with new operating system. Can you help me? I really need to turn around this work.

    Big thank you.

Hallo liebe Helfer, habe Photoshop CS 4. Nun habe ich mir die Canon Eos 5 d Mark III so. Wie kann ich Bilder RAW öffnen und bearbeiten?

It will be necessary to be able to use the free Adobe's DNG Converter to create negative digital copies of your raw files. The camera that was purchased requires camera raw 6.7 at least, but in my view, full support has been added in Camera Raw 7.1. These versions of Camera Raw are not compatible with Photoshop CS4.

Your camera must v8.7, that is compatible with PSE13. But you can convert to Raw DNG (Adobe).

You can get the latest software free DNG converter 9.1.1 for Windows or Mac from following link. DNG files will then work with your current software (keep your originals as backups and for use in the software of the camera factory)

  • Opening of the EOS 5 d Mark II is CS4?

I wonder if someone could help me please. I would buy photoshop CS4 for my husband for his birthday (just a couple of weeks a way), but I don't know if it's the right thing or not. My husband has just upgraded his camera (of an EOS 5 d to an EOS 5 d Mark II), he never had a problem at the opening of the EOS 5 d images in photoshop cs3, but cannot open the EOS 5 d images Mark II. I read that he needs of camera raw 5, but it is only compatible with cs4. Is this true? What he wants to do, it of take a picture with his camera and then open the raw file in photoshop without loss of quality at all (I guess that means keep as a psd?). Cs4 that will?

Sorry if I ask a lot of questions but I really want to get the right thing for him.

    Thanks in advance.

CS4 will certainly open the pictures and the Camera RAW are associated plugin is a big upgrade from CS3. But your husband can download the free DNG Converter, convert its new Mark II RAW files using that and then open them in CS3.

I hope you don't take this the wrong sense but on you for the purchase of your husband for his b - day software. It's super hot. I'm jealous.

  • EOS 5 d Mark II Mode manual Question

I use my 5 d Mark II for several years in the 'Program', 'AV' and 'TV' modes, but just started trying the manual mode of "M" and I'm confused.

With the camera in manual mode, I can set the shutter speed using the main wheel (above the shutter button) without problems, but when I turn the wheel fast, which is supposed to set the aperture, nothing happens.

The fast adjustment wheel works fine in all other modes, but in manual mode it does not change the opening as it should, in my opinion. Can anyone suggest what I am doing wrong?

    Thank you.

    Winni-laker says:

The fast adjustment wheel works fine in all other modes.

In all other modes by default the quick adjustment wheel should set Exposure Compensation, unless you have programmed to do something else.
