  Yes - I found a post on the HP website - "HP can't stand this product."

  This is unfortunate, because I just bought the machine two days ago.  If you are indeed working with where to HP, you can hire a query regarding WHY they sell products that you will not endure.  Needless to say, it will come. Also needless to say, when I looked for a replacement, I don't even consider another HP product.   Who knows if those who are still in charge, even if they are sitting on the shelves in stores.

  Hello everyone, I spent the time to research on the here and the other site on why the CD/DVD does not work with El Capitan 10.11.5 on MacBook Pro mid 2009. This discussion forum has said that he will not work with the El Capitan software. Any idea or suggestion? Back to Marverick or Yosemite? I tried to use SMC reset, restart, recovery and still the same issue.

  I have my doubts that the (10.11.5) software is the problem.  Are you sure that the DVD player is simply not defective?  Have you tried to clean the lens?  What is the State of the disc?

  Your best option may be a date at a bar in engineering of the Apple store for a FREE evaluation.

  Tethered shooting works fine with Lightroom 6.4 on El Capitan.

  You can then go ahead and buy Lightroom and perform the tethered shooting.

  With Yosemite and with my 12 year old Epson Perfection 3200 Photo scanner worked great! I accessed use Apple's Image Capture utility. After having recently upgraded to El Capitan, Capture of Image could not see my scanner. After removing preferences to Epson, the upgrade - by Epson online - driver and image transfer, checking all cables and restart several times - it STILL does not work. IC saw nothing.

  After getting technical support of Apple FREE chat and many hours of troubleshooting on mine the day before. Apple, suggested ideas, I have call Epson. I did - they have FREE phone technical support! After new check a bunch of stuff, Epson technology offers I have try the USB - cable I was using FireWire. The USB cable is specialized whose end is atypical goes to the back of the scanner - I have had the chance to quickly find, after be hidden away for years. Well, after only a few attempts, the USB key worked! I can now scan again - to no longer use the FireWire cable.

  I loaded to the top of the AIF to Epson software with instructions, the printer works but the scanner won't.  I updated the drivers and the scanner still doesn't work.  I just get the message "Epson Scan cannot be started.  Please use the Troubleshooting Wizard to solve the problem"- the problem is that this does not solve the problem.  Don't want to replace a printer works perfectly and the scanner which worked fine with XP just because I have a new computer with Windows 7.  Can anyone provide simple tips please?

  Photos for Mac is not an iPhoto update, it is a completely different application.  You open iPhoto libraries in Photos, but the photo library will turn it into albums iPhoto events, because there is no events.  Photos creates rather Moments based on the date and place, and they are created automatically.

  My friend just upgraded to the OfficeJet 8500.  He already had a scanner and a stand-alone printer.  Yesterday, we installed the printer and software, but the scanner will not show either when you press the button on the front console or from the HP Director software.  Any suggestions?  Printing and copy of work currently functions.  His system is an iMac G5 20 ", Mac OS x 10.4.11.  OfficeJet is connected via USB.

  Well Yes, even 2.0 compatible hubs can get in the way of scanning (but usually not print).  Try a direct contact with a known good USB cable.

  You can try uninstalling the scrubber, its probably a good idea if there are old pieces of HP software on your system.

  I bought the HP 6700, I tried to scan for the last 2 days! It works very well with my husband's computer (a PC), but it won't work with my MAC 10.9.2! When I try to activate the scanning to computer it just says "communication error".

  Try scanning from your Mac. Use Image Capture app in your Applications folder.

  Click once on the scanner on the left side, and then click Show details on the background. Along the right side you will see MANY options for scanning and recording.

The Photosmart 5514 software may have gotten deleted when you took your Mac computer for maintenance. At the end of this document provides troubleshooting steps to reinstall the software.
